Honya avoided the tutorial quests as they required teaming up with another player, something she didn't feel comfortable doing. Unfortunately, as she progressed in the game, those incomplete missions seemed to hold her back from more complex ones. Resigned, she entered the waiting room and... well, waited for another person to join while sipping an energy drink. She needed some liquid courage for this one.

Her in-game character, Yuya, bore some resemblance to the real person, representing a black-haired teenage girl. Yuya's starter Pokémon, bulbasaur Midori, waited patiently by her feet, occasionally dozing off due to Honya's inactivity as the waiting extended past the first couple of minutes. Would anyone even show up? An irrational thought invaded her mind - what if nobody joined because it was her?

"Silly. Nobody knows me here," she reminded herself firmly. It was nearly 3 am at her place, no wonder it was taking some time. Most people were sleeping. To be honest, that's one of the reasons why it was her favorite time to log in. She briefly considered leaving the room to attempt it at another time but decided against it. She had to talk herself into it, so it was now or never. Still, a part of her hoped nobody would appear as the fear was building up with every passing minute... why couldn't she be a normal girl?
