Colossal Pokemon Attack (Medium) XvQMDLHD2d50+10 If Supereffective: +20Alicia huffed as they arrived in a new field of battle. It didnāt seem like all that long ago when sheād joined up with Josh Devlin for an encounter with a gigantic Pidgey. She was currently still regretting taking the bird. But that was neither here nor there. This was a very different arena though. But that made sense as they were going to tackle a very different kind of Pokemon. āAināt the target sāposed to be huge?ā Giyun asked with an implied quirking of his eyebrow. āNo where ta hide here, ān no sign of it.āāReady a Dragon Claw. Itās coming.ā Alicia ordered confident. Giyun shrugged, and his claws shimmered as he gathered his strength. A reverberating bellow soon rang out as a dust cloud kicked up. It was deep enough, and held such strength that she more felt the sound in her bones than hear it with her ears. This was the plan though, Alicia and Giyun were going first to draw the beastās attention. Her Duraludon could effectively endure almost anything the beast was capable of. Josh, waiting in the wings, would pounce on their target afterwards when it was recovering from its attack. Soon their quarry was in sight, a Cyclizar charging them at full speed with a blistering QUICK ATTACK. Giyunās eyes widened and he set his stance. In short order, the two dragons collided. Giyun let out a grunt as he reached out to rake the Cyclizar with his DRAGON CLAW on the pass. And though the monolith of steel ended up getting bowled over afterwards just purely on the size difference, he was an effective road block with his steel body. The Cyclizar roared as it ended up tripping, collapsing in a heap and tearing up the land behind Alicia with immense skid marks from its body and especially its wheel sac and tail. āGah! Freaking overgrown stunt newt! Hope ya got road rash from that!ā the steel dragon spat out angrily as he flailed his way back to his feet. Just because he was onboard with the plan from the beginning didnāt mean he couldnāt be upset at actually being knocked for a loop for once. The only other times he was hammered that badly was against that Naganadel, and when Joshās Mudsdale got a good hit on him in their duel. {BREAKDOWN}Giyun (Duraludon) - TANK - 459/500 HP Link to Roll: HereCore Ability: None Action: Attack with Dragon Claw Battle Log: - Took 41 DMG from Strain/Energy Drain - Inflicted 119 DMG (89 Roll + 10 Rarity + 20 Super Effective) Cyclizar HP: 1081/1200 2d50+10

Colossal Cyclizar Attack (Medium) XdLDjgkF2d50+10 If Supereffective: +20No sooner that Giyun let out a roar did the sound of squealing tires drown out any attempt at conversation between Alicia and Josh, the Cyclizar screaming toward the Duraludon with a QUICK ATTACK even his reflexes wouldn't let him react to. Josh wanted an easier ride that was still very fast, and was this PokƩmon ever fast. It was almost like a living motorcycle. It would be perfect for adapting to the blistering speeds of the PokƩmon he truly wanted.
This battle would be nowhere as easy as the one with the Pidgey. Josh's greatest asset, his speed, was useless; without correct timing, his PokƩmon's attacks would miss. Not by virtue of there being a miss rate, as miss rates didn't exist in UNOVR, but by virtue of the Cyclizar being out of range of the attack by the time the PokƩmon rider could issue the orders. Against most foes, Josh would fight from the saddle.
Not this one.
Giyun's tripping move gave Josh a golden opportunity to put in some real damage. "Not so fast now, are you?!" Ares taunted before inhaling deeply, belching DRAGON BREATH all over the normal-type. The foe's first attempt to get back on its feet was met with STOMPING hooves from Raiden. When the electric horse moved in for a follow-up attack, the Cyclizar's air sacs whirred menacingly, sparks flying from hoof clashing with wheel. Raiden whinnied loudly during the BREAKING SWIPE, the dragon-type tearing into him with air sacs spinning so fast that they looked like featureless discs.
"Arceus... Raiden!" Josh swore, worried for his fastest steed from the heavy hit.

Colossal Pokemon Attack (Medium) ITMjbUtY2d50+10 If Supereffective: +20Alicia grimaced as the chaos erupted. The Cyclizar recovered faster than sheād hoped, but about as soon as she expected, and was able to get some counter attacks off. But it seemed their initial disruption was effective enough that the damage seemed minimal. If they could keep the Cyclizar off balance, she would be more worried about the strain of the repeated Sweeper attacks. Fortunately, the moment she had bought with her opening strategy had given Josh just the opening to do some heavy damage. Now it was her turn to keep the pressure on. āIf itās good for one Swanna, itās good for another! Giyun, keep the pressure up!ā Alicia called. āGladly!ā Giyun replied, rushing in with a roar. He went for the Cyclizarās back leg, launching his own BREAKING SWIPE as an ankle-breaking move to keep the Cyclizar downed. His tail connected with a solid smack, and the Cyclizar bellowed, recoiling from the strike. But the beast was quick on its feet, and wheeled on Giyun. āOi! Lemme go! Or at least chip a tooth! Somehow! I realize ya donāt HAVE any teeth, but chip one anyways!āThe Cyclizar and clamped its jaws around the Duraludon and picked him up completely, trying to crush the steel dragon between them. Fortunately the steel plating could hold against such an attack for a while, but even through it Giyun was feeling the bite. {BREAKDOWN}Giyun (Duraludon) - TANK - 395/500 HP Link to Roll: HereCore Ability: None Action: Attack with Breaking Swipe Battle Log: - Took 64 DMG from Strain/Energy Drain - Inflicted 67 DMG (37 Roll + 10 Rarity + 20 Super Effective) Cyclizar HP: 774/1200 2d50+10

Colossal Cyclizar Attack (Medium) BvpmULNh2d50+10 If Supereffective: +20
Raiden was fast, but that Cyclizar's air sacs were zoomin'. Surely, even Giyun wouldn't be able to hold the behemoth for long, right? Not with the creature lowering its RAPIDLY SPINNING natural wheels toward the steel-type, grinding away at its scales. The noise made Josh squint, sounding exactly like a car slamming on the brakes, its driver desperately swerving to avoid a head-on collision. "Careful, Alicia! Those wheels are its most powerful weapons!" Josh called out.
With the Cyclizar squirming and focused on Giyun, this was a golden opportunity for Josh to do some real damage. "Ares, stand right at the end of your Dragon Breath's range and let it fire! Raiden, we gotta slow it down!"
"Right!" the Charmander quipped back, a royal blue circle visible on Josh's HUD expanding from the fire-type as a visual indicator of the attack's range. When the line just barely overlapped, he loosed purple DRAGON BREATH upon the trapped PokƩmon, Raiden following up with a precise, but weak, THUNDER WAVE. Were the Duraludon to drop its giant foe, whether it be from being wheeled, the force of its rear wheel touching the ground, or from a small bit of friendly fire, it would run over both of Josh's PokƩmon faster than either of them could react.
Clearly, catching this normal-type would be only half the battle.

Colossal AoE (Medium) Zw0vF7zA4d60+20 If Supereffective: +20Alicia grimaced as the battle was starting to drag on. This was getting dangerous. Certainly their fire power was up to snuff, but a Medium difficulty battle had a an additional fifty percent additional hit points compared to an Easy one. And those extra points were difficult to tear through. Fortunately, they each had more PokĆ©mon in reserve. But she, at least, was running with her strongest member up front to take the brunt of the incoming damage. How much strength would the Cyclizar have left when and if Giyun fell? Speaking of falling, The Duraludon roared and raked the Colossal dragonās maw with his own DRAGON CLAW. The Cyclizar bellowed in pain, letting Giyun out of its mouth. He landed and growled as he immediately turned to re-engage, only to be surprised as the Cyclizar got up and leaped. āOi, what gives!?ā Giyun yelled. And Alicia gasped, only now remembering there was another complication. āBRACE FOR IMPACT!ā Alicia yelled, hunkering down. On top of the Desperation Attack in a few more rounds, there was another heavy attack coming. āā¦ Oh f-āWhatever word Giyun was going to finish with a was cut off as the Cyclizar dropped back down like a meteor, slamming the Duraludon into the earth with its tail in a brutal BREAKING SWIPE of itās own. Quickly, it pulled away, ready to wheel on Joshās Pokemon to follow through with another attack āAaarghā¦ Iāllā¦ feel that one in the morningā¦ā Giyun groaned out as he started prying himself out of the Duraludon-shaped hole in the ground. {BREAKDOWN}Giyun (Duraludon) - TANK - 212/500 HP Link to Roll: HereCore Ability: None Action: Attack with Dragon Claw Battle Log: - Took 183 DMG from Strain/Energy Drain - Inflicted 81 DMG (51 Roll + 10 Rarity + 20 Super Effective) Cyclizar HP: 501/1200 2d50+10

Colossal AoE Attack (Medium) 0mHZO73w4d60+20 If Supereffective: +20
Combat Log> Cyclizar readies Shred.
"Shred? That doesn't sound good," Josh gulped as the dragon-type zipped across the wastes in another wheelie, stopping to screech in place long enough for Josh's PokƩmon to get off another volley of strong attacks. This included a dangerous WILD CHARGE as a follow-up to a paralyzing cone of DRAGON BREATH, the Zebstrika trying to give his giant foe a flat with his electrified hooves. It did little to help, the neighing horse's hoof stuck between the Cyclizar's rubber-like air sac and scales above them. Taken for a rough ride that left the horse PokƩmon moaning before collapsing, their for briefly went in reverse to dislodge Josh's fallen PokƩmon. Once it was free, the action froze around them as a cutscene played out.
The Cyclizar entered a dramatic-looking wheelie, sounding a loud moo as a whirlwind of dust kicked up beneath it. Its wheels were whistling, the PokƩmon screeching as it came down from the stunt. In a flash, their foe was on top of Ares, scraping his body with the blurry wheel. With a loud wail, the Charmander glowed a bright white, extending growing arms toward the giant in an effort to shove his enemy off balance enough to free himself.
The young man didn't have time to ponder how Giyun had survived such a crippling blow. They had to fight. If this wasn't even the Cyclizar's finisher, they had to hurry up. And with only one PokƩmon left, he wouldn't last long on his own...

Colossal Pokemon Attack (Medium) oAqSREbL2d50+10 If Supereffective: +20The sudden evolution of Ares to a Charmeleon was a welcome surprise, and the Gardener couldnāt help but pump her fist at their fortune. It was unfortunate that Raiden fell, but against such brutal attacks she had to accept that there was going to be some kind of casualty in this battle. And of course, each of them had a prompt to fill the now empty slot. āIāll cover things now!ā Alicia called as she pulled another pokeball out. With a toss, she brought the Pidgey theyād gotten from their prior tag-team. āLetās make this a grand debut for the-ā¦ whereās the audience?ā the Pidgey chirped, adjusting her self-made flower crown and shooting an annoyed glance at Alicia. āRemote viewing, you think theyād let people get close to a beast that large?ā Alicia lied quickly, really not wanting to deal with Sylveneās inflated ego. It was a bit better now, but still a pain at times. She managed to suppress a wince at the headache she could feel brewing. After all, Sylvene was going to be mad later. āFair point, well we shall make this a stunning show all the same!ā And with that, the bird took off to add a third dimension to this battle. āIām taping āer beak when weāre doneā¦ā Giyun growled out. āAs if a brute could-āāFOCUS PLEASE!ā Alicia snapped, shutting her teammates up and getting them to turn their ire on the Cyclizar which had pivoted to the strike them now. Giyun let out a roar and used a second BREAKING SWIPE to trip the Cyclizar up again, making the behemoth bellow as it was forced to recoil. Flying high, Sylvene swerved and pulled into a tight spiral over the Cyclizarās head, whipping gusts of wind that pulled stones from the land around them. For such a small bird, she managed to call forth a potent TWISTER to pelt their target. Not having an easy way to hit an airborne target without big and telegraphed motions, the Cyclizar was left with an option not many would expect. It let out a distinctly different bellowing note and grinned. āHow dare you! I am a proper lady!ā Sylvene shrieked, seeing red. āOh you think you tough!? Get over here and say that to my face!ā Giyun roared, similarly enraged. Alicia could only bemoan what occurred. āIts TAUNTing you guys, canāt you see that!?āThey could not, and strayed too close in their fury. The Cyclizar promptly pulled a wheelie, smashing both Pokemon down and grinding them under wheel. {BREAKDOWN}Giyun (Duraludon) - TANK - 136/500 HP Link to Roll: HereCore Ability: None Action: Attack with Dragon Claw Battle Log: - Took 76 DMG from Strain/Energy Drain - Inflicted 104 DMG (74 Roll + 10 Rarity + 20 Super Effective) Sylvene (Pidgey) - SWEEPER - 144/250 Link to Roll: HereCore Ability: None Action: Attack with Twister Battle Log: - Took 106 DMG from Strain/Energy Drain - Inflicted 134 DMG (54 Roll + 0 Rarity + 80 Super Effective [4x20]) Cyclizar HP: 84/1200 2d50+10

Colossal Cyclizar Attack (Medium) GCMCYgXQ2d50+10If Supereffective: +20 Combat Log> Cyclizar readies Breaking Swipe. Combat Log> Ares readies Dragon Breath.
Josh winced as he saw the two high-speed Dragon-type attacks collide. Were this not a game and the PokƩmon real, Josh would have withdrawn the creature from the battle; with the evolution giving Ares barely enough stamina to breathe holy flames upon the Cyclizar, he would have suffered serious injuries that a simple PokƩmon Center visit could not fix. This, though, was a game.
And in a video game, the only hit point that matters is the last one.
Though Josh's Charmeleon rushed headlong toward the giant foe in a noble sacrifice, it was that selfless act that assured the rider and Gardener victory. In the last gout of white flames, the Cyclizar's body slowly dissolved, the entire arena shaking until its model disappeared, prompting the game to play a prominent victory fanfare.
CONGRATULATIONS! Information> You may claim 10 ARENA POINTS or add the defeated CYCLIZAR to your party. Decision> Arena Points āŗ Cyclizar Information> Please name your captured CYCLIZAR.
Josh pondered the name of his new PokƩmon. "You play much F-Zero? I think I'm gonna name him after an F-Zero driver. Not Falcon, though. But which one?" After mulling over the default list, he settled on Falcon's rival. And no, not the main villain. Someone with more noble of a purpose than Black Shadow.
Decision> Is Goroh okay? āŗ Yes No
Locking in his decision, Josh breathed a deep sigh of relief. "Thanks again, Alicia. See you back here in June? I've got another friend requesting my Arena slot for May."

Alicia nodded, smirking as Ares summoned up the strength for one more attack. It would be the last blow heād make this battle. But it was just enough. The Cyclizar never got a chance to finish another attack, collapsing under the mighty flames.
This one was a much more easy option to decide on. A play of her fingers over the interface let her confirm that she wanted to acquire a Cyclizar of her own. Of courseā¦ there was the issue of a name for it.
āā¦ Beyond the main characterās appearance in Super Smash Bros, I hadnāt even heard of F-Zero.ā Alicia admitted to Josh. Then she had a small snicker at his comment regarding June. āSee you in June. Hope you can handle May without Tikani and Giyun anchoring for your DPS Pokemon.ā
The Duraludon honestly had no business enduring as much incoming damage as he had. And Tikani had proven decently sturdy against the Colossal Pidgey as well. So Alicia felt justified in shooting the small teasing comment. And with that, perhaps with some more chatter, it would be done.
