For just a moment, Alicia could jump for joy and cheer. But no! She was trying to be the cool hero, not the overly excitable one! But she was still very happy.
”Applin’s Grass/Dragon. And I remember seeing something about Orthworm being here and that’s pure Steel? So Onix being present isn’t that big of a stretch since Bug typing isn’t mandatory.” Alicia responded, pulling back her teammates for the moment.
”Nushi, you’re on!” She called, calling on her recently equipped Swimmer Class’s Tier 1 abilities.
”WHEEEEEEEEE!” The Veluza cried out as he quickly darted through the air, feeling a sense of freedom he hadn’t had as a wild Colossal ‘mon. ”What’s the play, lady?”
”Give us a show of your speed, Aqua Jet!” Alicia replied, pointing out a particularly brave bird.
”Surf’s up!” Nushi confirmed as streams of water let him dash through the air like a torpedo. The over-energetic fish made like a pinball, bouncing from one bird to the next. All the while he laughing, having a grand old time as he chimed ”Ping!” with each hit.

Part of Alicia wanted to pout at the prompt that had come up. ”I’ll be right back!” she called out to Altair, deciding to pull the trigger on a Colossal Battle she’d had available at the moment. Once she’d managed to dust herself off, and gotten rid of her blush at the misclick she’d managed, she came back to this instance of the Tree of Worms legacy challenge, a new Pokeball in hand. ”Shylla, Wrap ‘em up, will you?”The Toedscool, which was about a foot or so taller than it should have been, cowered behind Alicia briefly once released. The would-be hero sighed softly. And in a moment of tough love, she picked the little one up and threw her little shroom squid at a Pidgey. Shylla, unsurprisingly, warbled in terror. Left with no other choice, he latched on to the bird he was hurled at, binding its wings with his tentacle legs and squeezing tight. And it seemed the world was out to make her do the lion’s share of the work this time, as a repeat prompt came up. ”This is getting a little ridiculous…” she muttered to herself, deciding to use her other single-stage party member.
”Got ya covered partner!” Ronda declared as he appeared. With a rev of his wheel sac and tail, the Cyclizar rushed into the fray, bouncing into the air to Quick Attack whatever birds he could reach with his talons.
”It’s a good thing I originally wanted and Onix from this Challenge, so it’s only fitting I put forth a good amount of the work for it.” Alicia commented off hand with a smile.

After hearing of a glitchy prompt at the Tower of Worms, thanks to a message from Alicia Westfield , Shalin couldn't help but investigate. When she arrived, she laughed hard, not even waving at her friend. Was the Tower really asking for a Ground-type against flying-type Pokémon? Curious, she released her Phanpy to do as the tower asked.
"Ellie, BULLDOZE!" she ordered. Bulldoze what? There was nothing to Bulldoze on this floor. The move she used looked close to a Stomping Tantrum than the one she used, merely causing tremors that would test the balance of Shalin, Alicia Westfield , Altair , and their Pokémon. Strangely enough, one of the Pidgey fell out of the sky and onto the platform near the ground-type.
Just what in the world happened? That couldn't have been intended behavior...
"Sorry I'm late - ran into a snag at the Arena!" the eccentric at last waved.

”Oh hey, Shalin! I thought you’d get a kick out of this one!”[/i] Alicia called with a smirk. ”I couldn’t believe it when I saw it.”

”That at least works mechanically.” the hero mused, whistling. ”Nushi, Fillet Away!”
The psychic fish was quick on the play, dashing through the air as he twisted through the air. With a few well placed Aqua Cutters, he shed excess mass and readily intercepted a few Pidgey that thought they could slip past.

And then Alicia promptly sighed as the Tower rolled a prompt that had caused her some annoyance earlier. She had done an entire Colossal Battle to answer this prompt last time!
So she looked down at her little Toedscool. The shroom squid looked up at her, quivering and sweating. ”Please no.”
”You are literally the only one here currently that can do what is needed. And I know you can do it. You just need to believe in yourself.” Alicia replied.
”…”
”… I’d rather not pull a repeat stunt without you being on board.” Alicia added. ”I get it. It’s scary. But you’re ready for it all. You just don’t know it yet.”
”…”
”…” Alicia heaved a sigh and picked Shylla up again, throwing the Toedscool at another Pidgey.
”AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!”
This was going to be an agonizing process, getting Shylla the experience and levels he needed… Alicia knew she was bad when it came to getting out of her shell, but this was especially bad. He was definitely appropriately named. But at least when push came to shove the fighter came out and he Wrapped another pidgey up.
”I can’t help but feel bad…” Alicia muttered under her breath.

With the Toedscool’s task completed, Alicia recalled him completely to give him a chance to breathe and de-stress. She had asked a lot of the poor shroom already. Hopefully he would break out of his fright at some point…
But now, she had one more thing to deal with. Seeing as instances like these were apparently exempt from the issues of location based mania, Alicia threw another Pokemon in.
Venex emerged with a savage roar and fearsome rage, taking flight. Alicia made a three tone whistle to him, and pointed at her target. The Naganadel, guided by his own AI and the requirements of the Tower, immediately charged a Dragon Pulse and let loose.
The Ultra Beast’s might was such that numerous Pidgey were taken out by the shockwaves that followed in the wake of the Dragon Pulse, handily clearing the floor. And if her memory was right, this should unlock Onix!

He was back—and he was accompanied by the single cutest, fluffiest, ball of—
“Hey, didn’t know we had a new companion along for the ride,” he would wave in the greenette’s direction. There was a Wooloo that now trailed by his feet, gently nipping at his boots before—
The loud screaming of the birds would draw their attention again.
“Are you kidding me, they’re still here?!” he would sigh as he gave the worst ‘side-eye’ he could spare at the flock of angry Pidgey. This was getting too much out of hand…
“Deal with them for me, can you, William?”
Off the ovine would roll, ready to commit mass mayhem.

"I was too stunned by the fact that the Tree called for a ground move against birds. So I gave Shalin a ring because I thought she'd be amused by what might've been a glitch in the system. Because there is no reason that should work." Alicia answered Altair as he turned up with a new comer. A very fluffy lamb from the looks of things. "New teammate looks kinda cute, not gonna lie."
And then she checked the next prompt, chuckling.
"Clear out everyone! Big blast coming through!" the would-be hero ordered, smirking. Venex roared in preparation, as Alicia began to go through the motions of the generic Dragon Z-Move activation.
"DEVASTATING DRAKE!" she commanded as her gathered energy coalesced around Venex. The Ultra Beast howled as he launched it all as a spectral wyvern that hunted down and crashed into the nearest Pidgey, detonating like a bomb and taking out a whole chunk of the flock with it.
Overkill? Absolutely. But the game demanded what the game demanded.

Shalin overheard Alicia's remark and blushed. "Thanks! It was tough getting it just right," the lithe female replied as she eyed the next prompt: sound. It made her smile. "I got this one! Let's go, Flit!"
Withdrawing Ellie and calling forth her Yanma, the bug-type landed on the base of a thick tree branch. Spreading his wings, he harshly fluttered in place, creating an obnoxious-sounding, SUPERSONIC drone that didn't seem to bother her one bit. If anything, she was mesmerized by the wings that seemed to flicker back and forth in multiple images.

Shalin's first trip to Beta Island had yielded a Tropius - quite the beginner friendly Pokémon, if its saddle-crafting requirements were any indicator of when she'd be able to hop on and fly. With her catch fulfilling the requirement in hand, she fast-traveled back to the Tower of Worms, running into Alicia Westfield and Altair again. "Thankfully, that didn't take too long," she huffed as she entered the tower right where they had left off.
"Alright, Dondon, ready for your first battle?" the dinosaur-like Pokémon nodded. "Blow them away!" Every Pidgey that tried to snipe one of those fruits would be met with a rude awakening, the grass-type fanning his giant wings and producing giant GUSTS that kept the flock away.
As one of the Pidgey fell to the elevator floor, a large number of messages flashed at the top of Shalin's UI, moving too fast to parse. The triumphant jingle that played alongside them had to be good, right? When she checked her Pokémon status, she would notice she was one step closer to crafting saddles for her Pokémon.
"I leveled up on that? Hah!" she laughed.

It wouldn’t take too long for him to recall his fluffy ovine, William, seeing as the next prompt was quite literally, tailored for the Pokémon he was about to send out.
“Okay, so. I was fishing, and instead of a normal Magikarp I found this one,” he would explain as the grayscale Magikarp that had a black spot around its eye emerged.
“Pretty sure I’m not tripping, and that this is a real Magikarp, so what the hell is up with the patterns?!” he added; before a Pidgey came flying his way; and the Magikarp would immediately use Splash…
…to no avail whatsoever!
“Oy. But I had to, okay?!” he would explain; as the next prompt was then rolled.

Alicia let out a chuckle, though she did feel a hint of concern for how much Shalin had seemed to be focused entirely of Flit while the Yanma was buzzing.
And then Altair showed her a surprise. ”Wha-!? UNOVR has Magikarp Jump’s patterns!?”
Then she blushed at her recognition. ”Th-There’s this mobile game where you exclusively fish for Magikarp, and you’re supposed to train them to jump as high as possible. Hence the title. I may have tried it for a few months.”
And then a couple Pidgey were making to dive on their little bug friends. ”Giyun, Iron Defense! Cover them.”
”Got it!” the Duraludon called out as he charged with heavy footfalls. With a gleam of his carapace, he interposed himself between the birds and their prey, deflecting the beaks and talons with ease.

Giyun's use of IRON DEFENSE to corral the Pidgey to one corner was genius. It made things trivial for the Yanma to snipe yet another one with the Bug-type move the Tower asked for. "Flit, use..." Shalin trailed off. Did Yanma not Bug Buzz yet? It would be the perfect attack for the situation, in theory about to thin the flock.
Shalin's cheeks turned red in embarrassment. "I'll... be right back. I apparently need to do some shopping." Disappearing in a flash of green light, it only took her a few minutes to return, though with a look of frustration on her face. Sending out her Yanma again, she gave the command for the insect to snap one out of the air with his mandibles in a nasty U-TURN.
"So as it turns out, I need tier four before he can Bug Buzz. How... maddening." From the look in her eyes, it looked like she might have had ideas to use the powerful bug-type move for more than just attacking.
