Once she’d finally gotten around to looking over the full extent of her loot from Sector Jarzick, Alicia had been surprised to find a strand of DNA. She couldn’t interact with it as an actual item, but it was still there.
Zygarde… She hadn’t heard of the serpent of Order before, but since she had a strand now, she spent some time looking it up. And what she found intrigued and excited her, and she had a fire lit to try and fully acquire the beast for herself. Five strands? It should be doable. She had the first one already. But there were some unexpected developments.
> Quest Line Offer: Order’s Arbiter.
Accept?
Y/N
Alicia could only blink in surprise as she looked at the mention of a quest line, seemingly centered around Zygarde. Was this… something she wanted to undertake?
> Accept?
>Y/N
She decided it was worth it. Maybe she would get a stronger Zygarde out of it if she went to the extra effort. Maybe the journey itself was its own reward. There was only one way to find out. She wasn’t expecting the following message to take a more… organic feel to its flow.
> So you’ve Chosen to hear this fragment out. I had wondered if any would do so. Still, since you have agreed, I will elaborate further.
>…
> You who Observed now stand on the edge of a new horizon. What you will make of it upon completion, One can only imagine. Walk the path and understand the facets of nature, the followings of Order. Its ebbs and its flows. The ever-changing tides.
>…
> Follow each guide in turn. Undertake the challenges that shall be presented. Learn of the world. Grasp its Order, conceptualize what is right and proper. And from there… become Arbiter of the Order you believe in. Will you uphold what is? Or are you a force of upheaval?
A marker appeared after that message, a set of coordinates. But Alicia had been left breathless by what she read. Especially the last line. Wasn’t being ‘a force of upheaval’ completely contrary to what was said before? Briefly, she wondered if she’d made a mistake.
If she had… she’d figure it out later. And so she’d followed a path to the coordinates she was shown. It was how she ended up here. A vibrant woodland that seemed to be exploding with color, the air tittering with constant laughter and chiming giggles.
For a moment, Alicia had taken the chance to just behold the beautiful sights. It was like a fantasy land come to life, even more so than the Pokemon World normally was. Part of her regretted that her first instinct was to act like a lone wolf and take things on by herself. She wanted to think Josh, Shalin, Altair, and/or Sidra would’ve loved visiting these woods.
But… still no challenge, like was implied in the quest’s messages, made itself apparent. Had she missed something? If she didn’t find anything within the next half hour or so, she’d leave and try again later.
