The ferry ride to the Beta Islands was a few hours yet felt like an eternity. The vessel was fairly packed, and finding a seat was difficult. So Lucille had settled on standing outside on the deck, leaning against the rail and watching the waves as they lapped at the boat and swayed. A low hum emitting from the ashen-haired woman as she spent long moments just relaxing and taking in the sights. At least the ocean was somewhat calm and the skies a clear blue above. It made everything bright, even the approaching island. Lucille could make out the tips of tall palm trees just about, or perhaps those could've also been Pokémon? Considering she had seen a very long Meowth being used as a bridge, nothing was out of the question anymore to her.
It was another 30 minutes before the ferry pulled into the pier and passengers had started to depart from the vessel. Lucille adjusted her backpack, which contained a tent and some camping supplies, as well as snacks. She planned to make this little excursion into some kind of bonding experience between herself and her Pokémon. Since the Thunderfall Raid, Lucille had a lot to think about and process about the whole thing. As well as having welcomed a few new faces aboard her little family of misfits.
Departing from the ferry, Lucille stood on the boarder of the pier and what was the beginning of Beta Island Canopy. Taking in a deep breath before taking her first steps, the grass meeting the heel of her boot with a dull thud. She ducked under some low hanging foliage as she ventured deeper into the Canopy undergrowth. The sound of rustling shrubbery and distant calls reaching her ears.
Okay, stay calm, nothing can hurt you. You have your team to protect you. Just keep going, just keep going--
AH!
