Helen couldn’t hell but smile as Josh called her a superhero in her own way for plying her trade. She never considered that. For as much as she appreciated the importance some people placed on their computers, her issues kept her from realizing the importance one would place on someone who could actually fix those devices once something happened to them.
“Thanks…” she answered softly. “That… actually means a lot. Never looked at it like that.”
Helen then went quiet for a bit, as the programs she had running were about to complete. Focusing entirely on the task at hand, she went about changing the Dell’s display to get access to the coding ‘guts’ of the machine. Slim fingers danced across the keys as Helen went to the effort of recoding the damaged parts of the overall system.
For someone who had no actionable experience in the topic, it might’ve looked like the brunette was working technological magic. It was not a quick process either. When one set of coding was finished and moved aside, another set was pulled up and worked on just as rapidly. Screen after screen went by, line after line hammered together.
After quite some time, Helen breathed a sigh of relief. “There. That should deal with everything while keeping the computer functional. If I hadn’t done that when I did, the computer would’ve crashed and been completely unrecoverable. Nasty piece of work indeed…”
Getting out of the chair, she held a hand out to the device which was back to its desktop and sitting there innocently. “Alright. All that’s left is to give it a try and make sure all the issues you’ve been having with it are resolved. I don’t leave until you’re happy with the job.”
