Torino sprinted through the maze, as darkness chased just a half-step behind. High walls cut off all but the slightest sliver of sky, and the long, narrow corridors pulled her focus to a pinpoint. Her feet beat a prey's patter on the moss-dark stones, breath thick in her throat.
The structure begin to shift.
Walls shifted like sore muscles, grinding in grit-tooth motion as the maze adjusted itself.
The path forked ahead, and Torino sprinted for the split. The gargantuan left wall crunched along beside her, threatening to cut off her escape and leave her trapped in a dead end. "Ciambella! We go right!"
Her Phanpy barrelled along at her heel, grinding a path through the moss. The traction here was poor, and her wheeled body kept skipping in its rotations, kicking up sprays of shade-wet foliage.
The shadow at her heels pulled up from the floor like midnight taffy, forming a whip of corrupted vines. The limb was meant for catching. For pulling and slashing and hauling. That limb meant an end for Torino.
The Corruption reared back and slashed at the two of them with its dark vine.
Torino saw the motion with a moment to spare. [tangent=JUMP!]"SALTO!"[/tangent] she shouted, kicking up off the ground and wall-jumping to gain extra height.
Ciambella didn't 'jump', but she put on speed and rolled up the shifting wall beside them.
Shadow thorns bit into nothing, and Torino and Phanpy hit the end of the corridor at a full run. Torino slammed into the wall and pushed off, forcing her body through the closing passage. The wall ground shut behind her, cutting off the Corruption.
She let out a long sign and doubled over, heaving for breath. "We run fast, Ciambella."

”So… maybe this wasn’t you’re brightest idea, galavanting off somewhere in the unknown without telling anyone you knew.” Tikani huffed with a grimace. ”To be fair I had no idea that thing, whatever it was, would be stalking this place.” Alicia replied, eyes wide as she moved through the halls of the maze. ”What I want to know is what we’re even doing here. This is a bit out of the norm for ya, Boss.” Giyun added, grumbling. ”That whatchamacallit only backed off after Tikani fried it with a Solar Beam. And maybe it was just some shade ‘shell’ or whatever being burned off of it, but it sure didn’t seem all that harmed.””Never mind that it didn’t look like any Pokemon I’d ever seen.” the Bayleef finished. ”That thing’s definitely coming back when-.”All three went silent as they heard a shouted command. They didn’t know the language off hand, but the urgency was impossible to ignore. Giyun and Tikani both looked at Alicia expectantly. ”… You already know what I’m going to say! Let’s go!” Alicia noted, picking up her pace and trying to navigate towards the general location of the voice she heard. Before, she’d been fine to just get herself and her team out of there before things got too hot to handle. But if someone else was in trouble here? The hero she was trying to be couldn’t ignore that. ”Never change, Boss…” Giyun muttered with a soft smile as he and Tikani took off after their trainer, his heavy carapace making his footfalls resound heavily. Expecting another confrontation when they met up with whoever was unfortunate enough to be caught up in this, he was already hardening that armor skin of his with Iron Defense. ——————————————————————— {PARTY}Tikani (Bayleef) [3/3/4] Sylvene (Pidgeotto) [3/3/3] Giyun (Duraludon) [3/3/4] Nushi (Veluza) [3/3/3] Pearl (G!Ponyta) [3/3/3] Shylla (Toedscool) [3/3/3] Torino

Crashing footsteps echoed off the stone-sky walls, the sounds of a metal monster approaching. It wasn't another dark flower —they corroded any metal they touched— so what was it? Torino raised her hands, ready to grapple her chaser.
Was it a trap, triggered to chase and cut her off? A metal boulder come to crush her flat? A-
A massive steel Pokemon stomped around the corner, with a familiar face at its side.
"Alicia!" Torino called, letting her guard fall. She breathed a thin sigh and a sliver of tension left her shoulders. "Seeing you face is good." Having a companion in her quest through the maze would be invaluable, especially someone as strong as Alicia Westfield.
"Your friends are strong!" she said, admiring Bayleef and Duraludon. "Are you here too to find the music?"

Alicia was not expecting someone she had briefly seen at the ill-fated Midas Corp when she heard the shouted command. But the sight of a familiar face brought a broken smile to her lips. They hadn’t had much chance to talk with each other. The chasing horde of Beasts, with danger at every turn, had been a bit more pressing. She still felt the twinges of phantom pain in her dreams back in reality… The smile then fell away when Torino complimented her team. Remembering Fumar and Yggdril. How they were each overwhelmed… Stolen away… ’Not strong enough…’ she thought privately. ”Music?” Giyun’s gruff tone of voice cut in, startling Alicia out of her grim reverie. ”All the Boss told us is that she wanted to see more of the world. If there was some kinda prize she was looking for out here, she ain’t told us anything.””What he said. I was just wanting to explore. Needing to clear my head some after… you know. Music sounds like a worthy goal to go after so if you need a team mate, we can party up. Tikani can drive off whatever those things stalking this place are, at least temporarily. But it requires a Solar Beam from my experience so… not exactly something that’s one hundred percent ‘on demand’.” Alicia explained, hopeful that news of some ability to fend off the monstrosities here would prove heartening. ”Of course, if you know anything else useful, we’d love to hear it. Maybe there’s something you’ve seen that we haven’t?” Tikani noted, tilting her head curiously. ——————————————————————— {PARTY}Tikani (Bayleef) [3/3/4] Sylvene (Pidgeotto) [3/3/3] Giyun (Duraludon) [3/3/4] Nushi (Veluza) [3/3/3] Pearl (G!Ponyta) [3/3/3] Shylla (Toedscool) [3/3/3] Torino

At the mention of a team, Torino's UI lit up. The auto-party system had already merged them. Torino's spirit's soared at the list of five members! It felt much better to have an almost full group.
"Solar beam? Hmm, maybe I have." She checked her team movesets and her face dipped in sadness. "No. My only Solar Beam was Girasoli." Everywhere she turned, the impacts of Midas Corp popped up like daisies. She could feel the holes in her team where her friends used to be. "Maybe I can Sunny Day to help your attack!" A swift check and, no, only one Pokemon in her box was capable of that move. And she was gone.
Torino deflated. "I am sorry Alicia, but I will find another way to attack!"
Chimabella the Phanpy was good for defense. But what she needed now was something to attack without being in range of those lashing black vines. She had nothing.
"Oh wait! Me!" Torino raised a hand a fired a blast of greenery at a wall. It hit like a million windblown seeds, covering the wall in a patch of wildflowers that spread and tangled outwards endlessly. "Yes! I can be the attack."
"And the music. Don't you hear it?" To Torino's ear there was a faint hum in the air. Not of electricity but of someone's muffled singing. Torino followed the sound down the hallway and past Alicia. And then stopped. It was behind her now. She spun on the spot, orienting on Alicia. "It is you! You are making the sound!"
Torino moved in close, and found the source quickly. "Oh! It is in your bag!"
A second voice joined the song, this time from Torino's bag. She unclasped it and pulled out the noisy object: the Redacted Ledger.

Alicia smiled as they were teamed up by the system with pretty much no effort from either side. One of the quality of life aspects of UNOVR. It was so much easier here than it was on any other MMO she’d played however briefly. But that smile was quickly erased as Torino shared that she was feeling the losses just as keenly as Alicia herself was. It was hurting both women and it would continue to do so until Alicia fulfilled her promise to Torino… The pinkette hero-to-be wondered what she could say as she saw her fellow Gardener run through options and find herself lacking with her new party openings. Until she fired some kind of… chlorophyll-seed blast? Alicia quirked an eyebrow as she looked at that, before remembering. ”Oh right, the Player subclass was overhauled last patch, wasn’t it?””Dunno what you’re talking about. But if the girlie’s gonna be fighting then I’ll run protection detail for her.” Giyun chimed. ”You’ve got the Boss covered, right Tikani?””Of course.” Tikani replied to her teammate. However, the seed blast gave Alicia an idea. She was the same class, wasn’t she? ”Tikani? Start slow charging a Solar Beam. And I’m going to apologize, because I’m going to make your job a bit harder…””Oh no… what do you have in mind?” her Bayleef asked in concern. Alicia didn’t answer her right away. Mainly because she was distracted with Torino going on about the music again. Which now that she was thinking about it, she was hearing faintly. But for her, no matter which way she turned her head it was equidistant from all angles. Of course, when Torino explained that it was coming from her, it made a little more sense. ”But I’m not…?” Alicia began, until she noticed it from her pack when it’s partner in Torino’s sounded off. Pulling her own Ledger out, she felt a small shudder go up her spine. It was there only briefly. But one of her eyes had changed. Her right eye’s sclera had turned black as tar. Its iris had become a sickened yellow. And a gleam of red flashed in a line over it, evoking a thought of future bloodshed. It was there for a few seconds, until she blinked it away without thinking. ”I wonder why it’s acting up…?” Alicia muttered. ”Proximity to each other? Or are they perhaps reacting to the black plant creatures here?”The pinkette hero was by no means unaware that these books had traces of the Corruption in them. If those weird creatures were Corruption in and of themselves then… it would make sense that like called to like. ”We might want to get moving. I don’t think this place will be safe for too much longer.””Alicia?” Tikani asked, her leaves gleaming bright with sunlight. ”Right, on my cue, release towards my hand.” Alicia instructed, as she turned to reach her free hand out to a gleaming leaf. With a brief ‘3, 2, 1, now’, the Bayleef discharged the beam. Alicia, in turn, caught it with her own capability as a Gardener, pulling away as if she were drawing a blade… Because she was. As she twirled with a little flourish, Alicia snapped the Solar Beam’s energy into a blade-like shape, a sword about four feet in length with a slight curve. Not quite a Japanese katana, but not quite a European blade either. It gleamed and sizzled in her hand, and Alicia heaved a soft sigh at it. ”This should help too…””You’re going to kill me with worry one of these days, Alicia. And I’m not sure I’m joking either…” Tikani commented, exasperated. ——————————————————————— {PARTY}Tikani (Bayleef) [3/3/4] Sylvene (Pidgeotto) [3/3/3] Giyun (Duraludon) [3/3/4] Nushi (Veluza) [3/3/3] Pearl (G!Ponyta) [3/3/3] Shylla (Toedscool) [3/3/3] Torino

"Oh that is very amazing!" Torino said, clapping her hands in delight. "It is a good weapon! I will try." Torino peeled off a patch of moss from the wall and focused tightly on it. Her Gardener powers set to work immediately, making it spread and creep along her alarm. "No. Small," she said, willing the floral energy to pack itself into a tighter and tighter bundle. He could feel the strength of her player moves, welling just beneath the surface. It was an amorphous well of power, but given direction perhaps like Alicia she could form it into something.
She clenched her fist and the moss swelled, consuming her hand in a hard shell of dirt and creeping greenery. It was like her hand was stuck in an all-natural bowling ball.
"Our emergency attack," she said to Alicia. "I will hit the plant very hard." She gave a confident smile.
The path here was not a single, crooked passage. Alicia had come from one direction, so Torino fell into a steady pace as they continued down the route. She hadn't seen the strangeness with Alicia's eye. She'd been too focused on her own book. She had tried to read it in the days since Midas Corp, but it was all high-level corporate English. Hard to read AND very boring. And almost every page was covered in stripes of black ink where the words had been blacked out. What secrets were hidden beneath the darkness?
As they walked down shifting corridors, Torino brought up the obvious question. "Have you found your apple? My Pokemon are still missing." Her steps were a little heavy, and Chiambella sensed her mood and walked closer to her.
"Every day I leave food for them and walked around Midas Corp shouting their names. Maybe they are like cats and will come for food." The grin in her face was muted, bent beneath lines of worry. "But I saw them taken. Maybe they are far away now."

Alicia smiled, humming audibly in cheer as Torino praised her. It was… nice, even as the slight roil of the darkness tinted the feeling. And then she watched in interest as her friend tried to replicate her trick. It wasn’t quite as good, but then Torino wasn’t using something that had a natural alternative to guide the mental image of what she wanted. Solar Beam had a physical alternate called Solar Blade, which formed the basis of Alicia’s idea. Either way, it was a good recreation all told. But Alicia would prefer that Torino not get into the thick of things if either of them could help it. Not out of any doubt of her fellow pinkette’s ability, but out of a desire to still at least try to be the hero type. And the hero put herself in harms way to protect those she cared about. At least, as much as she could. The strike that downed Yggdril in an instant still stuck out in her mind. How she was powerless back then… As much as they gave her a headache, she loved hearing them rattle on and on. She missed Giyun’s and Fumar’s spats with each other. It hadn’t been long and the voids were gnawing at her again and again. Thoughts that were enflamed as Torino asked her that simple question so innocently. ”I had everyone’s screen names that I could remember seeing noted down. I was going to do a mass message to all of you if I had any good news…” Alicia replied, leaving the ending of that line hanging. The fact that she hadn’t was damning enough regarding locating Yggdril, Fumar, and the others. ”If you’ve seen any streaks of purple lightning ripping through Ostellia recently, chances are it was me and Tikani. We’ve been scouring the area to the best of our abilities. No traces. No footprints. Nothing. It’s like they disappeared. Or maybe they have some kind of underground tunnel system in that region we don’t know about.””Regardless of the reason… we’ve had no luck either.” Tikani finished. ”I gotta say, I hate thinking about that.” Giyun noted. ”Makes me mad, and I want to wallop the ones responsible. But without a face to punch…”The Duraludon heaved a sigh. Tikani’s leaves drooped at the thought. And Alicia marched, steadfast, with her Solar Blade knock off thrumming intensely. But the Ledgers’ songs could still be heard distinctly. Reminding her of what they steeped themselves in during a time of mental weakness. And if Torino didn’t fully grasp the implications of what they had done, Alicia wasn’t about to make her worry more by elaborating. She honestly didn’t know if she fully grasped the entirety of their act. Laguna had said a lot with only a few words. Before she had been engaged in other matters closer to home. That scream reminded her of the one she had released after logging on that day. The only difference was that Alicia’s, as Helen, had been of rage. Whereas Laguna’s had been of horror. Cinders drifted from her hair as she set her jaw. Small wisps of fire ringed the multitude varieties of flowers in her hair that came from having a maxed Gardener class. Framing them yet paradoxically not making them wilt. Her anger towards the faceless foe was simmering. The heat made her huff softly. ”But when the chance comes… You best believe I’ll be on the front line. Wielding everything I have to end the suffering. Leading the charge if I can.” Alicia assured, reiterating the promise she swore that day. She could only hope she could still look herself in the mirror and feel proud with who she was being in UNOVR. ——————————————————————— {PARTY}Tikani (Bayleef) [3/3/4] Sylvene (Pidgeotto) [3/3/3] Giyun (Duraludon) [3/3/4] Nushi (Veluza) [3/3/3] Pearl (G!Ponyta) [3/3/3] Shylla (Toedscool) [3/3/3] Torino

Torino nodded, deep empathy already having taken root in her soul. "I will send a message too. It is a good idea." She didn't know it now, but she would stay up some nights, when the air was clear and empty, and draft messages to her friends. The messages were full of borrowed hope, and joy at a reunion that had not come to pass.
"Tunnels!" she said, eyes wide. "Yes! There were many beneath the Midas Corp. Do you think we missed a path down there? But you didn't find anything..." She trusted Alicia to have done a thorough sweep.
Alicia's words sparked hope and kind fury in her heart. "I will be beside you," she said, putting on a determined face. "We can fight together!"
The path they followed lead to a covered section of the maze. Here the ceiling was made of the same stone, an oddly porous compound like granite crossbred with pumice. Hanging from the roof was a forest of dark trees that blocked their path forward. Their barbed branches bent downwards as if they were more sleeping bat than suspended flora, and here and there flowers of orange and purple bloomed amongst the shadows.
Torino tilted her head to the side, looking at the black plants. They looked different to the one that had chased her. Almost as dark but without the dripping Corruption or the compulsion to chase her. "Do you think they are bad?" she asked, approaching the plants.

Alicia sighed softly, shaking her head. ”Nothing. If that was a way they had gone, they covered their tracks well. I admit that I… frankly abused Tikani’s extremely high thinking speed from learning Electro Drift from the Everworld, racing through those paths as well.””I don’t consider it an abuse. Since it was my idea in the first place.” Tikani replied at that thought. ”I want to get our friends back as much as the rest of you. If I have to over-stress some then so be it.””…” The pinkette was quiet at that, listening to the sounds of the eldritch songs their Ledgers were uttering. They seemed to have quieted down for the moment, but the wicked song was still there like background noise. ”Don’t be me, okay? Let me be the dumb hero risking life and limb. I’ll need someone in the back to put me back together when it’s all said and done. I imagine… that I’ll be a mess when that comes.”She technically already had someone in Josh Devlin, who had rather bluntly told her he drag her back to the world of the living if he had to. Probably with the intention of yelling at her for going overboard. But another supporting soul was… always welcome. Alicia then blinked in surprise as their path became covered overhead. Fortunately, no matter how deep they got into this area, her Mock Solar Blade would shine plenty of light by which to see. ”We should make haste. While these aren’t the same things… I wouldn’t be surprised if they were just a different stage in whatever twisted life cycle these corruption creatures might have. Like… have you seen that one horror movie series? With the extraterrestrial creatures that mutated wildly depending on the conditions they gestate in? Biggest mistake of my young life if I’m being honest… Anyways, that kind of thing.””Ya sure know how ta give someone the heebie-jeebies, Boss…” Giyun griped quietly, eyes flicking from one plant to another. ——————————————————————— {PARTY}Tikani (Bayleef) [3/3/4] Sylvene (Pidgeotto) [3/3/3] Giyun (Duraludon) [3/3/4] Nushi (Veluza) [3/3/3] Pearl (G!Ponyta) [3/3/3] Shylla (Toedscool) [3/3/3] Torino

"Let me be the dumb hero risking life and limb"
Torino thought back to all the moments on EU where she'd been the front line warrior, clashing with some ice being or forcing back raiders with gouts of flame. In a world of such pressing cold, battle had been a rare source of warmth. But in this land of Summer...
She moved on, not making any promises.
Alicia's warning about the monstrous trees flew over Torino's head. "Oh! I know some movies, but I do not watch the monster ones." As they walked between the inverted trees she twisted her body to avoid touching them.
The dark branches hung down around her. Were they ornamental, or were they feelers for some giant creature. As they moved deeper into the forest the flowers drew her attention. The gorgeous blooms of orange and purple were stunning, standing out like splotches of paint on the black and grey canvas.
Torino tried to get closer to one.
The bloom was strangely familiar. Had she seen it in one of the Briarbane gardens? Unlikely, they stocked exclusively black flowers. What about the Dream Kingdom? Perhaps. Midas Corp? No, even the gorgeous flowers in the executive garden had their unique, hidden feel.
"Alicia I do not know what this flower is. Maybe I know it. The color and smell make me think of home." She reached out to the orange flower and stroked the petals. They were delicate. Soft. A sprinkling of black pollen coated her hands. "I want to take some back. Help me?" She pointed at a nearby purple flower. One of each would be perfect.

Alicia sighed softly at the lack of promise to stay on the back line. Who was she to deny her friend the right to fight on her own merits? Unaware of Torino’s history on the EU server, she brushed it off as being a similar feeling she herself felt. ”Probably for the best. Creepy as all get out back then, and certainly terrifying for the time. Now the older ones are just an intellectual curiosity. A thought experiment, if you would.” Alicia commented. ”I wouldn’t recommend it at any age really.”An arcade game where you could go ham and mow down droves of them was quite cathartic. Turning the majority of them to fodder, and even the worst into creatures you could realistically defeat with some quick thinking and fast fingers. Though when Torino mentioned the flowers being interesting and perhaps even relaxing, Alicia blinked her eyes. Turning towards the patch her friend had approached, the Gardener stepped closer as well. She had her full team after all. What did she have to fear? They could afford a bit of time to unwind, couldn’t they? Anything coming to mess with them wouldn’t be- ”I think you two are getting a little too comfortable.” Giyun cut in, claws pinching the back of both Alicia’s and Torino’s shirts and picking them up off the ground like disobedient cats. ”H-Hey! We’ve got this, don’t we? Put us down Giyun!” Alicia snapped back, squirming in the steel monolith’s grip. ”… Jarzick proved otherwise.” Giyun said bluntly, making Alicia freeze, pupils shrinking. Unbidden, the crackle of thunder ripped through her mind. Black cording, plant-like yet not, writhing through the room. An incomprehensible scream as everything went wrong in the worst ways. A friend fallen…”You’re right… you’re right. Sorry Torino, but we’re burning this all to the ground.” Alicia declared, grimacing. Giyun smiled and dropped his trainer onto her feet again, and she raised her blade, preparing to use the concentrated sunlight’s heat to torch the wicked flowers. And she heard a rustle. Blindly, Alicia whipped her Mock Solar Blade overhead. With the threat towards the smaller blooms detected, the branches had begun to reach for them. Or for Alicia at least, who had made move to carry out the destruction of the warped plant life. Her single wild swing proved the worth of the idea she came up with, having cut short a number of the fibrous ‘fingers’. Alicia didn’t want to consider what would’ve happened to them if they’d stayed playing with the flower blooms for too long. Would they have simply fallen asleep? Or would something more sinister have occurred? Seeing the pollen on Torino’s hands was a spooky reminder of how insidious this darkness could be. ”Well that’s alarming.” She commented numbly. ”I don’t know if we’ve got a weed whacker big enough for whatever this is!””How DO we keep running into the worst the world has to offer!?” Giyun asked with frustration, setting Torino down and arming a Flash Cannon to fire and keep the branches at bay. ——————————————————————— {PARTY}Tikani (Bayleef) [3/3/4] Sylvene (Pidgeotto) [3/3/3] Giyun (Duraludon) [3/3/4] Nushi (Veluza) [3/3/3] Pearl (G!Ponyta) [3/3/3] Shylla (Toedscool) [3/3/3] Torino

"No!" Torino said, standing confidently in front of Giyun's charging cannon. The black floral fingers made no move to reach for her. Instead, they avoided her entirely and coiled slowly through the air towards Ciambella, Giyun, and Alicia.
Torino moved into the path of the fingers and they shifted to avoid her, reaching around her pink form.
She looked down at her hand, now covered in black pollen. She wiped some on Ciambella, and the fingers bent away, no longer interested in her Phanpy either.
Torino turned to face Giyun. "Stop. Put that down," she said, in reference to his Flash Cannon charging. "Stay here and do not attack." She slipped forward through the twisting branches of the trees, parting them like water. In a moment she returned with two orange flowers.
Torino stored one of the flowers in her inventory, and held the one out to Alicia. "Here! Touch the seeds. They will keep you safe."

Giyun blinked and looked down at Torino with a freaked out look. Seeing as his mouth was occupied, he had to cancel the Flash Cannon in order to respond. ”Oi! I can’t try and protect you two if you don’t let me fight!”Alicia in turn, bit her lip, a faint horror dawning on her. Hadn’t she theorized it earlier? That like called to like? They only started moving aggressively when she had intended hostilities. ”… Stand down.””BOSS!?” The Duraludon yelped out, now fixing his disbelieving gaze on Alicia. ”Aight, that’s it, we’re all destined for the looney bin if we get out of this.”Alicia was definitely willing to admit that Giyun absolutely had a point. It’s just also true that the foliage was ignoring Torino and her Phanpy now. She couldn’t ignore that, much as the implications forming in her mind were… unpleasant… ”No matter what… I’m with you.” Tikani noted, standing close to Alicia and providing a reassuring presence. A bit brokenly, Alicia returned the smile, before taking the flower Torino had gotten for her. At least the Ledger shut up once she put it away in order to have a free hand. With the flower itself in hand, she brushed a bit of the black pollen onto her arm, before storing the flower and passing some to Tikani and Giyun in turn. ”…I hope this doesn’t bite us later…” Alicia noted in concern to Torino, a hint of… something off in her tone. Shaken by this development in some way, perhaps. ——————————————————————— {PARTY}Tikani (Bayleef) [3/3/4] Sylvene (Pidgeotto) [3/3/3] Giyun (Duraludon) [3/3/4] Nushi (Veluza) [3/3/3] Pearl (G!Ponyta) [3/3/3] Shylla (Toedscool) [3/3/3] Torino

"You do not need to protect me!" Torino said to Ginyu, a little grumpy at having been picked up and now shouted at. "I am already safe!"
With the flower passed around and everyone scattered with black pollen, the hanging plants pulled back. There was no prey here. No need for alarm. The adventurers had marked themselves as friends and now could pass through unbothered.
"We are family now!" Torino said, as she took a confident step into the forest. She experimented, reaching out towards the trees and watching them stay still. She even touched one. It felt cold to the touch, and seemed to suck away the pollen that was on her arm. "Oh! be careful Alicia, the plants want their dust back," she giggled, sprinkling on more of the black powder.
Of course, there had been two different types of flowers in the forest: orange and purple. The orange one was safe, and dropped protective powder that they could use to hide in plain sight. But the purple one?
Torino pushed through the forest, reapplying liberal amounts of the black powder to both herself. In her wake, a spreading path of Gardener greenery shifted out, full of thick and fluffy moss and small flowers in yellow, brilliant blue, and the occasional black.
"I will take a Purple flower too," Torino said, eyeing one up ahead. She headed straight for it, flitting like a butterfly between the thick branches. However, this purple bud was closed. Torino frowned. What could be inside? She added it to her inventory just in case and pushed on, deeper into the maze forest.
