Manish craned his neck to look at the oncoming storm. The rain was just starting to hit the area, but the thunder was rolling on by, cracking across the sky ominously. “This wasn’t my fault. This wasn’t my fault. This wasn’t my fault…” he muttered to himself as he tried to herd wild pokemon further inland.
<Manish,> Ryan’s voice could barely be heard over the wind, <We gotta make a shelter! I don’t think these guys are gonna move much further!>
“This wasn’t my fault, this wasn’t my fault…”
<Manish!>
“Huh?” He finally looked away from the black clouds to see Ryan using his large bulk to block the rain for a couple of Snivy and Treeko that looked exhausted. “Oh. Oh right, yeah, we uh, we can build something? There’s some downed trees, we can prop those up and tie them together with vines?”
<Got it!>
<I am Manish’s cataclysmic fury!> Narrator yelled as he bound over to a fallen tree and started to push it.
“I don’t have fury! And I didn’t cause a cataclysm! Probably. I mean, uh, well, I’m like mostly sure I didn’t? Like, I mean, okay there was that spooky thing at the shrine, but that could have been about anything!” Manish cried back as he started propping up two different logs to lean on each other.
<I am in awe of being in the presence of one so powerful to summon a storm!> Narrator leaned against a tree to help brace it for Manish.
“I didn’t summon anything! Ryan, can you tie these together?” Ryan nodded and used his vines to start wrapping the trees together.
<Hey, so, what are you talking about?>
“Nothing!”
<I am Manish’s purifying wave! Manish is washing away this land to bring forth a shining paradise where we will rise up and be free of our oppressions!>
“Stop it! I didn’t make this happen! Narrator, hand me that vine there, yeah, thank you. It’s not my fault! I mean, I’m not opposed to like, uh, helping you be free? If that’s something everyone wants? Or majority wants? Ryan, hold these steady. Should it rely on the majority? That doesn’t seem right. Does the subjugation of the few justify the will of the many? Oh geeze, this hasn’t been covered in class yet!”
Manish held his face in his hands for a moment before taking a deep breath and actually looking at the shelter they made. It looked sturdy enough, even the droplets of rain that were starting to fall weren't getting inside. “Huh, that worked.” He looked at the pokemon still huddled under Ryan and crouched down to look at them better. “You should be safe in there, go on, get in. We’ll see if we can round up any others and send them here.”
The wild pokemon scurried into the storm and Manish looked on with pride as they curled up together in the shelter they managed to make.
<How noble, the chosen one saving pokemon from his rage!>
“Stop it!”
