Lucky hammered at the wood more and more. He tried his best to make the place perfect, a haven against the storm. It was the best way to make the points go up. It had to be. He kept telling himself that, and yet the game didn't quite seem to agree with him on that sentiment. His return was diminishing no matter how hard he tried, and the reward points were running dry. There was only so much he could do to prepare a simple building against an unstoppable storm.
"Agh, that bloody tosser, taking the piss out of me..!" He decided to do the rational thing and blame it on inari . Clearly it was his fault-Lucky was just working worse because that rude man got into his head. What did Lucky do wrong? He was just trying to work together with him!
You're angry, the whisper of his most faithful partner came from beside him. Why?
"What do you mean, why?! Who the heck just shows up to help just to start ignoring how to do it? I was just trying to help!"
You wished to force. Hearts can't be moved.
"As if I was trying to! He just ignored everything I asked of him!"
You pushed his kindness. You did not ask-you expected. He is trainer, like you.
"What..? I mean..."
He's like the people you talk about to me. The people who give you all your work. They hurt you. You hurt him, too.
He didn't think of it like that. Was he just pushing his stress onto someone else? How did Inari feel about all this? Maybe they resented him now. Maybe they'd already left, or maybe they were here to feed the Pokemon like they wanted to still. Lucky felt the need to check.
That's how Lucky appeared to Inari the second time in the rain-this time, the water seemed to soak him through thoroughly. Maybe it had to do something with his mood-he looked down in the dumps, and the water soaked his frame all the harder for it like a sponge in a sink.
"Uh... hey, I'm... I'm sorry, mate. I'm not sure what you're up to right now-I just wanted to ask if I could, uh, h-help out with it?" Lucky tried asking what he would want to hear after being browbeat by his cold boss with a nervous and guilty grin. He felt embarrassed to even ask that much after butting heads with this guy, but it was was she thought was right to do. He had to make amends somehow. Lucky just didn't know quite how.
