T'was the night of the storm's eye, the eve of the coming disaster. Rain reigned outside of the shore, surely reined away by the preparing God that was soon to come with ruin in tow. It was a visible curtain that walled off the isles from the rest of the world, that rain out on the sea. It was a grey curtain that surpassed the mere clarity of water-it was bleakness, the same grey wall that lie in a man's heart when he had given up. The ruler of the sea was sending a message to the people who yet lived. 、ヽ`、ヽ`Give up.`ヽ、`ヽ、
`ヽ、`ヽ、00:16:45:44、ヽ`、ヽ`
Lucky had no such intentions. Far from it, he thought it would be a good idea to relax and enjoy the night before the countdown above the isles struck zero. Violence was soon to reign, so why was he to think about it right now? No, there was no such need for that. Lucky decided to set up a campfire. He set it in the small grove closest to the Shrine's beachfront, one just a quick jog away. Now that he thought about it, the horde of Grookey probably had somehow come from this rather woods-y spot on the Coastline isle. It seemed like a place where anything-or anyone-could show up. That's why he set up the ever-growing bonfire out here. He and two of his Pokemon were in charge of gathering wood while his Delphox Will'o set the fire alight. The fire grew and grew and grew some more, burning ever brighter so as to be a star on the horizon for any player watching. He even gave out a post to the boards for good measure. The premise was simple enough. Show up and bring whatever ingredients to cook that you've found on your journey! Enjoy the night and chat and play games under the warmth of the fire-It would be the last vestige of warmth that anyone would be getting on this island if things didn't go well. Lucky began cooking food and awaiting the arrival of people seeking simulated fun and warmth.

Natsuki was wandering down the side of the river, following the beacon of light she saw on the horizon. It seems she arrived at not the best time as the rain poured down in buckets around the island. The wind blew the rain inward a bit so the girl was coated head to toe in water due to spending hours out exploring... and desperately needed to dry off.
”Its... too damn cold out here— I’m hoping this storm passes, what’s even causing this?!” Natsuki yelled out as the created a hill, standing right beside the fire that Lucky had set up... knowing full well he heard her complaining as a bright red painted her face.
”Lu..Lucky??? What are you doing in the rain?” Apparently Natsuki hadn’t seen any announcements about a gathering and happened to run into the small temporary camp only by pure luck and survival instincts!

"Getting a real gas of a party set up, real craic of the crop if you get what I'm putting down. What else would I be doing out here?" Gesturing towards the great timer in the sky he elaborates, "It's almost about time for the gravel to hit the fan. I for one plan on enjoying myself before that happens! No point in stressing out about it, yeah? I'll have a hell of a fillet for us once we get back to the bonfire after the raid."
A quiet laughter and pleased showed that Lucky was enjoying himself despite the constant drizzle overhead-or perhaps he was enjoying himself because of just that. It wasn't entirely clear as to which was the case.
"I'm just waiting for the sorry sods who've found my invite to get the hell over here already! It'll be a good night, promise you that much," Lucky assures. He was Lucky after all, surely he could be trusted to host a good event? That's what he himself was sure of at the very least.

Natsuki was confused by the timer in the sky as she gazed up, this being the first time she even noticed the damn thing! Taking a moment to think to herself, she sighed softly and shrugged-- not being able to figure it out on her own. "Is that a timer until the world blows up or something? A reset? I know some games do that... I just joined around two days ago and have just been wandering around the wilderness of the island... I refuse to use that teleportation. Am I the only one who gets sick from it?" The girl asked as she approached Lucky by the fire, steam and embers flying up from her footsteps on the low-cut grass as she sat down eerily close to the fire, almost... too close? It would be uncomfortably hot for a normal person, but she seemed to take it with no issues.
"You've done a good job though with the fire, Are you self taught on survival?" She questioned, her interest piqued at how efficiently the small camp was made.

"Fire? Nah, that's not me. I've just been getting the wood for ol' Will'O here to keep the flame bright with. Don't want anyone going hungry here, after all-'specially not the cooking fire!" As if to accentuate his point, Lucky taps the side of the great fire from which two curious eyes now peered out at Natsuki from. Whatever it was, it was either melded with the flame or was as tall as any human could be. The lashing flames flickered a shining golden hue wherever Lucky's knuckles brushed up against, floating up dissipating as any other fire would.
"Once we get our party over, every player with half a skull in their head that ain't fluthered away is gonna go to the shrine nearby here. There's a God coming to knock on the door, and we're gonna raid it right back to the ocean it came from. You picking up what I'm putting down?" Lucky asked it as a question, but it felt more like he was recruiting her into a cause out of the blue. He could never have too many people to throw at the big fish, after all.

Natsuki let out a soft sigh of relief as she sat almost inside of the fire itself, letting her body relax as she fell backwards onto the ground, laying in the roaring fire's golden glow. "Are you hiding something in the fire? I swear something just looked at me before I lied down-- or maybe I'm still not recovered from all the teleporting..." The girl groaned out, gazing up at the cloudy skies as stars peeked out between the blackened skies. There was something always calming to her about skygazing like this... and oddly enough the distant booming of thunder and lightning only helped calm her down more.
"You know, we don't get rain much from where I'm from, most of the time it's just snow... so I don't get to hear thunder often, Where are you from? The world's a big place, so I doubt everyone here is from America as intended... too many ways to get around that rule." Natsuki spoke as her seriousness faded away and revealed a more calm and gentle side of her. The girl was just enjoying her night by this point, enjoying the new experiences she's been having.
To reply back to Lucky, she took a minute to think about what they had said. A god...? This would be the first time she's heard of anything like this, and decided to question further. "A god? Like, a legendary or something? I'm pretty surprised I'll be able to see something of that caliber this early on. However-- I don't think I'd be much use in terms of helping you and whoever else is participating." Natsuki said as she slipped her singular Pokeball out from her waistband ribbon and released it beside her, a smaller than average Froakie popping out from the red flash as she lied her hand out in front of it, as if to beckon it closer. It worked, and she gave it a small pat on the head... but ended up getting her hand stuck in the bubbles around it's neck.
"Well... that's, great..."

"Ah? Oh, real bang up job there lass. Yeah, you'll do just fine." The words probably were joking in nature and Lucky's voice was friendly enough about it. But he then stopped talking for a moment just to stare into the fire... whatever it was he was looking at, it was probably the thing that was hidden beneath the tinder.
The roaring pyre crackled imperiously, as if to say we need her, Lucky.
"Aye, I was getting to that. She doesn't seem to want to though, you know? Bit of a pain to teach a ponyta to drink an' all that. You sure?"
Every hand is another to push against the Will. The storm must be stopped.
"Well, there you have it," Lucky announces in resignation as he gestures towards the girl with a new frog hand, "The lad here insists. Trust me, it won't be so bad. You white out, the worst that happens is that you get consolation loot, yeah? It'll be worth a fortune a few years from now, that year XXXX minted original Kyogre scale. Worth it in my book!"
A pause was had as the silence was given to the hands of the fire to crackle in. "Uh, look, it's not like you have the pain set to realistic or anything innit? Even if you do, you could turn it off at any time... Or just shake it off after you wake up. Your head'll think it was all a dream afterwards, manufacturer's guarantee. I work with the programs on this kind of stuff, you know? The headsets and all that. Either way, I think it'll be a great time trying to duck under buckets of rain and over the scaled hills on a Kyogre's back. That's why I'm goin'.
S'why everyone else coming here is gonna go, too-we don't want to lose these islands we've been beta testing so soon. Could call it a wee bit of spite for the developers, or maybe you could call it a right love for the place here. I know I'd miss the smell of seawater if I lost it."
He didn't have much else to say for the time being. He didn't even know if his words helped at all, and all he felt he wanted to do right now was to stare into the flame.

"Nice setup you've got here Lucky! Looks like I'm just in time!" Big Bee said, cresting the rise with a couple of his Pokemon in tow. Taka the Wartortle and Orange the Blaziken followed him down the hill, with Blaziken carrying a massive slab of metal.
"There is a certain something to the place," he agreed with Lucky. "I love the sea air, the cool of the canopy. The crater is...also good." A swimmer at heart and a beach body in real life, Big Bee had no love lost for the scorching crater. "But hell if we're going down without a fight. If they think a single legendary is going to stop us they're about to be very mistaken."
He looked around. "But if this is the pre-battle party and prep station then there's one thing missing." Blaziken approached the pyre and slapped down the massive sheet of metal. It pinged and creaked as it heated, specks of rain sizzling quickly into steam as the iron came up to temperature. "A barbeque! How can you have a fire but no grub!"
Big Bee opened his inventory and selected a stack of x999 perfectly cooked steaks he had received from Allotta Bambooga. "I've got your back, man," he said, as Blaziken laid them in rows along the metal. "These'll be nice and hot in a few minutes."

Natsuki seemingly was drifting away while laying down near the fire, the girl was in her own world until that massive metal sheet was slammed down over the fire-- breaking her out from her small bout of relaxation as she shot up. Scurrying back a bit from the fire she gazed up to see a new face at the bonfire. "I-- Hello, who are you?" She asked quite bluntly as she kneeled on the wet dirt with a hand on her sword. After a few seconds she would relax and release her grip.
"Sorry about the hostility... You just surprised me, I don't like people sneaking up." Even if Big Bee made quite an entrance, she still hadn't noticed them-- so that was completely her fault in the end. Gazing over at the steaks that were lied over the fire her interested as piqued. "Those are for everyone... right?" She asked as she still hasn't eaten a bite of anything since she originally arrived on the island.

"Hey there! I'm Big Bee!" he said, introducing himself to the new face. "You're Natsuki, right?" he asked, reading the HUD tip above the young woman's head. "I haven't seen you around. You must be new!"
"The food's for everyone, of course! No way even Taka could eat all those himself." Over at the steak pile Taka was gnawing away at the steaks, devouring them at a constant rate, as if he was a bottomless pit that only well-cooked meat could satisfy. "Your Pokemon can dig in too! We need everyone fighting fit for the raid."
Big Bee snuck a glance up at the timer above them. The seconds ticked down constantly, counting down the seconds until the battle for the island. He gulped. "Can I get you a plate?"

"Yeah, yeah~ Everyone's got a hand in the food. Thanks, Big Guy!" Ha ha! Lucky just knew that others would bring out the food when he hosted with a fire. It was common sense that everyone brought a little something to a party, after all. Only, it didn't look like Big Bee brought a little of anything--When was he going to run out of steaks? How many did he even have? Where did he even find steak, let alone this many? Best not to think about it if he was to enjoy the meat. Will'o seemed to share the sentiment. A pair of furred claws reached out from the iridescent light of the flame, embers dancing along the fingertips. They snatched up a warming steak and retreated back into the fire. The flame crackled under the new fuel, as if to say I am pleased with your offering."Come off it, lad. No gods out on the isles yet." I am but a messenger beneath the Will."No! Bad." It was surreal to watch Lucky swat a whole-ass bonfire, but there he was doing so-and it seemed to be working. The shadow beneath the flame wilted as if dissuaded by this pat on the ears. Lucky himself thanks Big Bee, "It's great to see you come out here, Bee. Glad to have ya! It'll be reassuring to see you here when the fomorian comes a-knocking from the sea, eh, partner?"

Manish was stumbling his way towards what he thought was his own camp near the Shrine when he got caught in several bushes and started to stumble. He thought that with him being a Gardener, plants would be more willing to be nice to him, but apparently those powers were limited to growing mushrooms. Another bush snagged his jacket, pulling him further off balance and Manish accepted his fate of pitching face first through a thicket and rolling out into a clearing.
Giving himself a moment to make sure all his important parts were still attached, Manish opened his eyes and looked around. Despite his hopes, Manish did not magically happen to stumble into his own camp. No, he found himself faced with Lucky, Big Bee, and someone he didn’t recognize clearly having a nice time at a bonfire. Great. A deep blush took over his face as he righted himself and shot back to his feet. He clutched Egg close to his chest and gave an awkward wave.
“Hi, uh, hi everyone. Um. I didn’t mean to, uh, I was just. Uh, it looks like I’m not the uh, the only one with a haha, a um, a camp? Yeah, a camp. Uh, near the uh, the Shrine. Haha. Um.” Manish realized he was waving that entire time and wrapped both hands around Egg.
“Are you all, um, cooking? Something? Or, well, I mean, there’s food so like, yeah. You are. Uh, but um. Anyway, do you need, uh…other food? I have. Um. Well, okay, so it’s not weird! I promise! But I have mushrooms that we can cook?” Manish felt like he was as bright red as the fire now. “Not that I’m assuming I can join! Or anything! I would never uh, assume! Sorry, I didn’t mean, um, but, I do have some food? I can just leave it and go! That’s fine too.”
He hoped he wasn’t being as big of a fool as he thought he was. Big Bee was someone he really wanted to call friend, and Lucky had been nice to him a few times before, so they were probably used to him being, well, him. But there was someone new, “Uh, hi. I’m uh, I’m Manish?”
