He knew he had to prepare for Sidra’s eventual ‘arrival’ into the game, all things considered.
So he’d taken it upon himself to slightly build up his resources, that kind of thing, so that he could kick her ass into gear when she finally remembered her logins to this game!
What he was not expecting, though, was to get lost in the fog—and very nearly fall straight down into a big, deep, gaping hole.
Okay, that was terrifying.
‘Yeah, no. I don’t want to know what’s down there,’ his Froakie would remark, hanging around his legs and peering straight down.
“Not even if we could fly? Or glide?” he would tease the Water-type.
‘As your kind would say, hell no!’
“Alright, alright, sorry I asked,” he would laugh back; eventually they would find their way back towards civilization.

How did he end up here?
This entire place was the reason (and source) of his rage, pettiness, and just overall general bitterness towards majority of the EU server…
How ironic was it to see that in the North American server, that it was just another ordinary shrine—wait, what was that movement he saw up there?
Either way, he knew he shouldn’t linger too long here; saying a quiet little prayer before departing.

What had brought him back here again?
Was there something he was hoping he could change, by coming here?
Alas, he was in a different location—a different world altogether; and while there was sunlight streaming down from the skies above, it was nothing like the chaotic mess back home…
He idly wondered how Polaris would take to seeing the source of their pain just being another ordinary shrine on this server… maybe he would tell the other one casually? Or just let him discover it? He wasn’t sure, really.

The pit is different.
It's less hopefully. Less full of falling warmth and the embrace of the descent. Less trusting.
There's no spiralling ice sculptures to walk between. No whipped wind to still in his moment of prayer. Nothing to indicate that the queen of the wilderness has heard him and bestowed her blessing.
It's empty.
Glace stares into the abyss, and feels himself grow a little numb from the chill.
"It's time to return to the fire," he says to Popplio, as he sends a brief message to Celeste detailing the location of the communion.

Alicia hummed softly as she brought her new Ponyta to one of the Shrines that was marked with the ability to transform Pokemon to their Galarian form should they have one. Her romp with Shalin by the Whimsical Woods showed her Ponyta did.
”Will I really look pretty…?” the Ponyta asked, looking over to Alicia.
”As pretty as the gem I named you after, Pearl~. I think at least. If you don’t like it I’ll get you changed back.” Alicia replied. Resting her hand against the shrine, she shivered a bit at the sensation of its energy. And with that, she was able to direct some of that towards Pearl, making her shimmer and morph into the Galarian variety.
”Ooh…? OOH!” Pearl cried out as she pranced a bit to look over her new mane and tail. With a small flex of will, she made them shimmer, making her bounce happily. ”EEE! I love it, I love it!”
”I thought you might.” Alicia chimed, happy for the horse.

There was actually no particular reason why he had to go all the way here to heal after the duel between crustacean and cat. Eru, with her recently equipped Support class, could now heal wounds that were not in the form of flames (a fact that Kanya plenty appreciated), but there was still something about the shrines that ensured that the healing was completed in full. This particular shrine though was much more ominous than the others they had visited so far. All had been much larger in presence and atmosphere, but this one...this one extends all the way down rather than looking up. Out of curiosity, Arthur peers at the hole, but he otherwise saw what he had expected: an endless abyss. In a way, he was happy he did not see anything else.
He grimaced and pulled away to ensure that all of his body was over stable ground. For a moment, he felt a chill go up his spine, and a memory slipped into his mind: a garbled silhouette, but clearly a person (a player?) standing over the pit and tossing a fish into the darkness. He realized that this was where some of the Magikarp came from in that little chef episode of his.
He shuddered and suddenly felt sick. It was not that he didn't find their act morally wrong - he understood it as playing the game as intended, and he was planning on trading away some of the Pokemon he caught to who knew what. That memory, however, was not just imagery but raw emotion, and he felt the sensation of being pulled to the pit, of falling, of his very soul being undone until there was nothing, nothing at all.
Eru asked if he needed some healing. He shook his head, simply saying he did not want to stay long.

Morpheus gasped in exhaustion. Even after he ran as fast as he could, the Venipede was surprisingly fast enough to hit his Glaceon before he could grab her. Thankfully, she managed to hang on afterward as he managed to arrive at the shrine. He was exhausted, but he wasn't too late to save her as the light from the shrine enveloped her body.
After waiting for a while, his Glaceon stood up and cried in relief. Yet she glared at her trainer. <<You could have been prepared than throwing my ball so recklessly, Morpheus!>>
He sighed in guilt. "I'm sorry. But at least you're better now. I'll try preparing before I think about napping next time."
<<Wait, you what?!>>
"KREEE!!!"
Morpheus's eyes widened at the faint noise. "Maybe you should scold me later. We need to deal with that bug before it attacks us again."
<<Sounds like a good plan.>>
Both Morpheus and Glaceon rushed out of the shrine and back to where the Venipede was.

Another close call... Morpheus was confused. How could the Venipede manage to hit his Glaceon strong enough to get her back to half HP? Maybe something might have happened while he was out of the game for a while. He didn't know what kind of changes were made though since he didn't have time to see the latest patch notes for UNOVR.
Either way, he needed a Plan B and he knew Yukina wasn't enough. Maybe... The answer lies in his HUD.

The Precipice Shrine. Even now, as much as it felt like an eye of the abyss staring back at her, things had changed since she had first started playing. Articuno might not be visibly here, but his revival has undoubtedly changed things.
Small pink wildflowers bloomed where she knew lavender used to grow, and psychic energy danced across the rime of the shrine like it was somehow balancing across the surface of nothing.
It was, stunningly beautiful. She couldn't dream of a better place for this.
"Mr. Business?" Laguna spoke softly, glancing back towards her Mr. Mime.
The Kantonian Pokemon perking up, politely dropping his suitcase and adjusting his suit as he stood up straight. "Yes, Laguna? Is it time? I have to admit, I consider this quite exciting. A chance to be something new, a chance to evolve further than I am. Like a promotion, but for life."
"Are you sure?" Laguna would turn around to face them, gently holding her hands out. "You need not change, just because you know I favor Ice and the cold."
"Ahh, but you see, I have been intrigued about you and yours ability to glide with ease, ever since we met. I can only see this as an intriguing positive, my dearest." They give a polite grin, a dance in their step already as they bounced over towards Laguna to grip her hand in return with his own. "Although, I admit, seeing you so excited about skating has influenced me a bit."
She immediately laughs, grabbing to hold onto his other hand and hold it close. "Well then, allow me to teach you the very first thing you'll need to know, as a Galarian Mr. Mime."
"I presume this is the part where you want me to ask, what that might be?"
"To dance. I know you'll love it." Laguna immediately pulled him in with a twirl, his cute bowler hat immediately falling by the wayside, but he only laughed in response as he was twisted around.
She'd twist around, her feet effortlessly gliding across the ground, skating with a flurry of snowflakes around him, only to grab onto him again and encourage him to move. Back and forth, taking wide dramatic steps, enjoying every single motion. Within but moments, perhaps instinct, or just natural talent, they began to dance along.
And then the music began, her Starlet Partner's natural theme began to play, and Laguna could not help but immediately laugh. She recognized the song instantly.
It was a classic, she could not imagine anything fit the man better.
They danced and danced, and at some point her eyes closed when she was twirled, grinning and laughing, hearing his own laughter back. He was finally cutting lose, and enjoying himself.
By the time she opened her eyes and came back to a stand still, Mr. Business was suddenly a very different Pokemon. No longer did he have the widespread hands, but delicate mittens covering his hands. Large shoes perfect for dancing in, complimented his suit rather nicely. An an ice-like tie that laid overtop his suit, a part of him now. A proper Galarian Mr. Mime, but none of that was what made him seem so different.
He was smiling even wider than Laguna had ever seen him before.
"I say, you look quite dashing."
The music came to a stop, and Mr. Business suddenly looked himself up and down, seemingly not noticing the transformation in the process. Without a word, he kneeled down to finally pick up his bowler hat and placed it right back atop his head.
"I dare say, I am feeling quite giddy. I have a feeling I'll be enjoying dance night at the office quite a lot more now."
"Hah!" Laguna immediately laughed, rolling her eyes as she gently nudged him. "What office? You don't have a job! Unless you secretly sneak away when I'm not looking to file paperwork?"
"Oh, some secrets I'll never tell. Trade secrets, I'll have you know." A sparkle in his eye and a wink followed up. Mr. Business was back, baby. Better than ever.

Ruby didn't know the name of the flowers that now surronded the Precipice Shrine, but she did know that it was all because of her. The Lavender that had once been symbolic of the Princess were gone, and these were what remained.
There were some days where she walked all the way to the shrine to go to the Dream World, instead of simply opening a portal from home. This was one of those days. She had something to do here. This place had become such a second home to her, that she once debated setting up a permanent tent outside the shrine, but the realization that other players would mess with it stopped her from just, moving out entirely. Only occasionally trips.
"Darling, can you bring them here?" She'd turn around, sitting on the edge of the shrine and dangling her feet over the edge.
They had very little time to prepare for war.
"Of course, Ruby." The Indeedee smiled softly, carrying a small blue egg, ice-cold, and constantly surronded by mist. She carried it over, gently placing it atop Ruby's lap before moving to sit down beside her.
Holding onto the egg with one hand, Ruby would reach up to gently pat the Indeedee's horn with the other in thanks, before returning her attention to the egg.
"We don't have much time, little one." She'd mention, letting out a long sigh as she brushed her fingers against their shell. "We need your strength. So I bring you here. To the shrine of your father, to his crown. That his blessings might be upon you."
The egg of course, did not respond.
"So, did you finally learn how to hatch them?" Darling suddenly spoke, some nerves in their tone.
"I did. My brother taught me. Uh- orioncayge, that is." She had to clarify, chuckling quietly. "There's a few steps that has worked for people. So, before the raid, we're going to be going on a journey."
"Mind if I ask, why now? Why are we hoping they hatch before the conflict?" Darling spoke, curiously tilting their head as she sensed Ruby's resolve.
"Well, I learned a new power, my dear." She'd turn her own head back down, and suddenly a matching pair of horns would form on her own head, spiraling outwards as they formed from beneath her hair and stretched out. "And let's just say, I have a plan."

Morpheus sighed in relief. He didn't expect a normal wild Pokemon encounter would end up difficult because of the changes that occurred in UNOVR lately. If he didn't realize it sooner, then the game was over for his session and his Glaceon would hate him.
Regardless, he managed to catch the Venipede, so heading back to the shrine was less stressful than his previous back-and-forth trips. Yet after that, he still wasn't satisfied. Maybe the announcement he got when he was on his way to the shrine caught him off-guard?
No, he doubted that he has time for another World Event. The rewards were nice from his first raid, but the commitment was a bit much considering he was exhausted afterward. Either way, he would think about it and see where the raid goes once it's up.
For now, he let the shrine healed his Glaceon and see what to do next in his remaining time for today.

Shalin was so excited to get to work on Ostellia's wild Pokémon that she had completely forgotten to heal her party after the Hearteater raid! Embarrassed that she had to walk to the Precipice Shrine, the shrine most closely associated with psychic Pokémon, it took her longer than she wanted. Thankfully, she wouldn't have to make the walk again; after her first visit, she was able to register it as a fast travel destination.
Walking up to the precipice of the pit, she placed her Poké Balls in front of her. Moments later, psychic energy began lifting them across the pit and back. A wave of lethargy came over her, causing her to let out a huge yawn. Shaking her head, she saw a distant tooltip only her Beta Tester class let her read: the exact location of the Dream World's entrance and more information about the mysterious realm.
Her Pokémon returned to her, she clicked open the Beedrill's Poké Ball, now fully restored. Sitting in the wasp's saddle, the feedback from the insect's wings beating woke the green-ette up. It would be a long flight back to the Drowned Harbor...

Not even five minutes had passed and the veteran explorer had found herself back at Precipice Shrine. At least she didn't have to walk there this time; with it being the last one she used, getting her team back up to snuff would not take long. "The Pokémon out there are so tough..." she exhaled, going into her Pokémon menu to withdraw almost a full team. Dondon, Flit, and Michiko would be among the Pokémon she would add to her roster to take on the metallic menace.
After she had finished praying but before the Shrine's psychic abilities returned her team to her, Shalin sent some warning message to her best friends, including Alicia Westfield , Altair , and Morpheus :
GROUP MESSAGE> Don't engage any of Ostellia's dangerous specimens on your own. It won't end well for you. Trust me.
