Since our Beta launch we've been hard at work adding, tweaking, and fixing. Patch 0.2 is all about quality of life improvements and getting the site running as smooth as Silcoon. You can check it out here!

Patch 0.1 is here, and with it, the opening of Beta Island! This glorious, sunlit isle is just a hop, skip and a shipwreck away from the Asper mainland, and is full of lush, untextured jungle, buggy beaches, and Pokemon that run according to their programming.

The first one had been halfway by accident. Him and inari having their unfortunate first meeting. The spoils of the shoes. The ability to run and frolic like a fool with his hot kicks. Furrlicity had meant to do them and then gotten distracted by his new mobility. There were too many exciting things to do! So Furrlicity found his way back to the starter town. Only this time, he wasn't alone. pawbrey pawtini was given a clap on the back. Mostly just to annoy him. "I want to open the package." Already it was on it's way to being derailed.

More than anything did he hate them. They were pointless and didn't teach the player anything other than the fact that their patience was going to be tested. So now he was here, with Furrlicity Purrfection, trying to deliver this package that he wanted nothing to do with. "If we open it does it void the quest?" Of course he wasn't even sure if it could be opened. It wasn't like the game actually let you open it from the menu. So it was probably just a box that took up space in their inventory until it was delivered. "Do you think it's like the old games? Where the pokedex is in it?" Did that make him and Furrlicity rivals? No, there was an npc rival in the game somewhere. For another tutorial. That he had yet to do.

No idea." Which, that reminded him. Somehow. Opening his menu again, he selected pawbrey pawtini and sent the other a friend request. That way the two of them could play together more often. If Pawbrey even wanted to play with him, that is. Furrlicity was aware that sometimes he could classified as 'a lot'. "I don't think it would? I think the NPC would just get pissy with us. This game is kind of weird like... you can do a lot of more interactive shit like that. I've never really seen anything like it, you know?" The question gives him pause. Slowly, Furrlicity is reaching for the package. If Pawbrey didn't save it from his wrath, it would most certainly be ruined before they could complete the quest. "I'm not really sure. I think my rival is this other guy, anyway. Well, I think he thinks I'm his rival. I kind of don't care that much." Furrlicity pauses again, thinking it over. "... I'll be your rival. But we need to do the sexy sword stuff like in movies."

Especially since a lot of MMO’s ended up having the flattest NPCs since they had to interact with so many people. Having adaptive ones made it for a more entertaining experience. “I bet there’s nothing in there…” And now he was tempted to open the package himself. But he wanted to get good marks on this one… He casually accepted the friend request, knowing that leaving it hanging would just annoy himself and make Furrlicity Purrfection worry about the fact that he hadn’t accepted it yet. “I thought your rival was that one guy you were harassing to death? The one you were telling me about in chat.” After all it sounded like they were the ones antagonizing each other over small things. Something that rivals would absolutely do.

Sighing and relenting, he makes sure that pawbrey pawtini has a hold of it. Furrlicity was about one hair's width away from tearing into it. Someone had to be responsible around here. "That means my Rival spot is open. The in-game one doesn't count. He's just annoying." And maybe a little scary, from what he remembered of Lucky Guy's version of the NPC. "We'll have our own fanfic. It'll be glorious and sexy, just the like the two of us. I get to be the Alpha, though."

And then he’d be calling them his runescape girlfriend and making the same jokes before getting bored again and moving on to the next person. Because what was the point of trying to get serious with anyone if you were just going to die anyways? “Right, so I suppose that means we have to meet up and hatefuck before you get with him, right?” After all he was pretty sure that was how that rival thing worked. “Though you did promise me your roommate so… You should make good on that first.” He’d seen pictures of said roommate a couple of times. Nothing he’d kick out of bed but also nothing he’d probably want to keep there either. He wasn’t interested in someone who was actually in love with someone else. That wasn’t his style. Then again for a Frenchman he’d never actually been in that sort of deep love his people were supposedly known for. Not because he didn’t feel anything but because any time something started to pop up he burst that bubble immediately. No one wanted to date a sickly guy for long.
