Patch 0.1 is here, and with it, the opening of Beta Island! This glorious, sunlit isle is just a hop, skip and a shipwreck away from the Asper mainland, and is full of lush, untextured jungle, buggy beaches, and Pokemon that run according to their programming.

A new land meant new, larger errors and bugs, and so he had a lot to look for! The spirit of youthful adventure had once again reclaimed him utterly where it had before held him in a gentle grasp. Today he found a coursing river. Lucky wasn't very sure whether water was the only thing flowing through the stream, if he were to be perfectly honest. Sometimes he could see little things flitting through the clear water. He usually saw white streaks and ferrous particles drifting by at varying speeds... Though sometimes, he would catch sight of a shadow darting by. It seemed to be close enough for Lucky's interest to pique at the thought, and so he took out the rod he'd gotten quite recently. His other hand let loose the fluttering frame of Skydow, who hovered there in the air to await his following command, "Keep a watch around for me, would you? I'm about to fish us up a battle, so I don't want anything interrupting me," He ordered and was diligently obeyed by the quiet Dustox. Skydow kept a keen eye on the endless plain grass as Lucky tossed out a line with an underhanded swing. FISHING ROD SET! When a Fishing Spawn bites, reply using the ~~ATTACK~~ button to reel it in! But watch out— it might fight back! If your PKMN faints, you must go to the closest SHRINE to restore your PKMN. When the fish's HP reaches 10% or below, up to 2 players with a Fishing Rod may catch it here at no cost. You may also ~~retreat~~ to throw your fish back. Lucky Guy

He had many obvervations to make so as to pass the time. Those ferrous clouds seemed to come out from further down the riverway, somewhere he couldn't see. If he were a betting man he'd bet that this dust came from one of the pillars that stuck partway into the water. Perhaps a delta had even been formed as the dirt collapsed around the heavy rod. The streaks of light were probably a charge of some kind. It was supposed to be a videogame with elemental typing, so most electricity would probably be visible in some shape or form. Lucky could only assume it was the case here, and that lightning coursed through the river at times. Aside from that it was a very normal, if not beautiful, river. There had yet to even be another shadow darting by to disturb the scenery. Not yet. But a time would yet come where this peace would be disturbed...

With a triumphant cry, Lucky all but ripped the poor fish straight out of the river's flow. He wasn't sure if it had intended to bite, but Lucky made sure that it would get hooked whether it liked that or not. The Magikarp splashed up onto the rocky shore, sparks of something dancing across its' scales in a violent manner as it reared back to fight. Skydow swooped down from the sky with a single cry of, "Get 'em!" Lucky's order was responded as well as could be in such a short time as the purple missile rammed straight into the fish, who naturally struggled back at Skydow's reckless advance. The two were locked in combat. Mortal, flopping and slapping combat. It was about as exciting as watching two weasels or rats go at it. The two just sort of rolled around each-other and tried to leverage force to seize victory over the other... Perhaps Lucky should have picked a different Pokémon to get used to battling? Yet he didn't regret his choice at all, quite the opposite-this was all straight to the point and he enjoyed the sight of something getting done quickly.

The combatants rolled into the river and disappeared from Lucky's sight, causing him to panic. Skydow was his toughest guy for sure, but he was still a bug and that was still a river which might also act as a bug-zapper. He didn't hesitate to go after the two. Now in the water, rushing in the slow stream, the three did battle two-on-one. Lucky did his best to help Skydow beat this crazy Magikarp, even if it meant getting in there and personally trying to punch it between the eyes. The water was rife with metal and toxic dust, and Lucky knew that he'd need to wash it all off or face a white-out after all of this was said and done. Even then, he couldn't just leave this fight be. They fought and struggled all the way downstream. The water broke out into a small pond where all of the violence then spread out into the still waters. Lucky emerged eventually from that water, and he had these Pokémon both with in his when he arose. Nobody tried to drown his little Skydow and got away with it.
