Bros gone Birchwild (Closed to Lucky)

Orion and his packmate would come across a sight most strange indeed. Lucky Guy was out in a grove between thickets of trees, a peaceful place to relax in between all of the travel that could be done on this route. That in of itself wasn't strange, nor was the rather large Dustox that sat on his back like a blooming pair of wings. It was big, sure, but it was still a normal moth just resting where it felt comfortable.

No, what was strange was Lucky's pair of binoculars that he had out. More specifically, the pair of binoculars that he was currently all but shoving into the ground face-first. It seemed like he was all but determined to throw his gaze past the ground barrier for some reason, by any means possible.

The Dustox on his back fluttered, the wingbeats almost fluttering to the tune of the sentiment that maybe they are asleep? That is why I would go into the ground.

"Not now, boy. This ain't normal. If you're gonna help me out here, keep trying to push me down." Skydow's wings redoubled in effort at Lucky's command. Was... was he trying to clip his arm into the ground? Was something in there? Was he trying to pull something out, perhaps?

"Look, I tried that, alright? All of the rocks here are dreamware, though! They probably look different for the both of us-they're not even coded as objects. It's the trees that're good for use, but I can't... reach... from there..!" Lucky actually seemed to be doing it, if only a little bit. That arm of his was starting to sink into the ground. He was doing it! He could feel that Pokemon on the tips of his fingers.

Soon the tip became the palm, and Lucky grabbed ahold of the poor little thing. He had done it! Now he just had to pull his arm back up--

"Oh."

There was a stunning pause in Lucky's excitement and words, and not even the grunts of his exertion remained. Lucky was just sitting there with his arm in the ground. Turning his gaze to Orion, he said with no small amount of dismay, "Uh, heh, I'm stuck, too. Help a brother out, would you?"

"Oh, peeve off with your ghost stories, you ossified codge! Model clips don't cause falling damage, and the headset's designed to wake you up before traumatic violence happens. You wake up from a dream before you die, and you just think of it as a dream as ever." His voice sounded laced with irritation, as if he didn't like the subject at hand. Or maybe he was just mad that he was stuck. Actually, it was probably the latter.

"The dream-trauma errors happened back in the earliest days of the headset models. That was how many years ago..? Nothing's gonna hurt-AH! FUCK!" He exclaimed, just as something decided to hurt him anyway. He indeed was pulled straight from the ground, his arm clipped backwards before snapping back to normal rapidly. That break in the model hadn't hurt at all, just as Lucky said it wouldn't have.

What did hurt was the Pokémon they'd pulled out, which then took flight from the clipping motion that the Pokémon model interpreted as inertia-It ricocheted straight off of Lucky Guy's head and flew right out into the forest at staggering speeds. Lucky fell over, clearly defeated from the powerful attack. His muttered irish curses bled through the dirt that his mouth had been filled with.

"G-go on with...out me. Figure out where that guy went, would ya..?"
