Marks upon trees guide her through dense fog, creating a path in this maze with no walls. Today, it’s to the small lake that Tuesday has ventured, having but one goal in mind: fishing.
"This better work." At least setting up the fishing rod is much easier than what doing so would be in reality, but that much is to be expected considering that UNOVR’s general demographic probably knows little about fishing. It’s like a hybrid between different types of rods, paired with a spinning reel and everything.
While she busies herself with this task, the egg she had found at the Rookery during summer floats idly thanks to the purple pool tube that surrounds it. Tuesday has yet to figure out how to get it to hatch, but if it had been in cold water before, then maybe that’s exactly what it needs, right?
Sitting on a rock by the edge of the water, the petite woman casts her line. She’s wearing her leather gloves today; in part because of the cold in the timberlands and in part because she’d rather not turn her very expensive fishing rod into solid gold by accident.
The first thing to bite is not any sort of fish pokémon.
It doesn’t even seem aquatic.
It’s a snake.
Its long and serpentine body bursts out of the egg, definitely too large to have been trapped inside. It slithers through the water and towards the bait, and as it does so, Tuesday watches the way black and gold scales shimmer with the way its body undulates. Aesthetic.
"Nope." Tuesday has enough sense to pull the line back then, just as the snake is going to take a bite. Crimson eyes narrow, looking at her. "I’ll give you a berry or something instead… Do pokémon snakes eat berries?"
She should probably look up what this species is called.
On the bright side, it does look like her new pokémon is tempted by the offer, enough to swim closer and out of the water. It’s only then that Tuesday notices: the pool float is still there, now no more than a small ring wrapped right before the snake’s blade-like tail.
FISHING ROD SET!
When a Fishing Spawn bites, reply using the ATTACK button to reel it in! But watch out— it might fight back! If your PKMN faints, you must go to the closest SHRINE to restore your PKMN. When the fish's HP reaches 10% or below, up to 2 players with a Fishing Rod may catch it here at no cost. You may also retreat to throw your fish back.
