So Maxine was a bit concerned, be it that instead of a actual mom she had a step mother and an older step brother who was rather mean just like in the show she loved, so she braced ea. to get attacked by her brother the second she walked in the door. Luckily, her Stepmom was there instead and had made some tea which she sat down to drink some. "So.. anything weird happening lately? Aside from my brother being a dick as always.." Yeah she was mean to her brother most of the time, but what goes around comes around right? The mother let off a sigh, and spoke-"Now Maxine.. You know your brother has too much to worry about with his job and all of that.. be a bit nicer? He's just trying to get you to be tougher, lest you end up attacked by Absols like your father was.." Her mother always told a different story.. the last time she had been home she said it was a pack of Arcanine.



Eventually, Maxine heard the door open as her brother Billy had returned. He said nothing to her, returning to his room. She took that cue to leave, but her Mom handed her some running shoes first. She gratefully accepted them, and promised to call her mother often. She in her head thought how fortunate she was that the Mindflayer didn't exist in the game world.. so her version of Maxine would not experience the trauma the actual character had...With a new confidence that she could succeed, she left the house with her new running shoes.
