It's a relatively nice day in spite of grey skies when Finn meets Tuesday outside the imposing wrought-iron gates of the Church. It's the first time his friend is seeing his masterpiece, and there's an air of excitement about the swimmer as he jogs up the old cobblestone path. The gates swing open when he nears, for he's the founder of the Church after all, and he beckons her in.
"Savage, isn't it?"
Mars would know that to mean brilliant.
The gate swings closed behind them with a shrill groan.
The church doors are large and wooden, the building comprised of a dark stone made darker by its dampness in spite of the lack of rain. Corviknight gargoyles glare down at them from pillars flanking the entrance, which also swings open to permit Finn.
He lets Tuesday enter first, so they don't close in her face. The moment they do, it's as if the weather has shifted. Rain shakes the windows where there'd been none outside, and the dim interior is lit by the occasional flash of lightning.
Finn, used to this, leads the way up to the front of the church.
"So I was thinking, maybe what it needs is a ritual. Every good cult has rituals, yeah?" He grins. "If you join up, maybe we can reach Kyogre through that. Awaken an ancient evil, whatever." The sort of shit that would make their religious families cross themselves. "I got this 'Rain Dance' TM from the same raid that dropped the egg. Apparently Kyogre's all about the rain, from what I've read online."

How did it come to this?
Good Catholic boy Cillian Quinn starting a cult to worship a giant whale.
It’s one of the most hilarious things Mars has heard in quite some time, so of course he wants to take part. What are friends for if they won't join the blasphemous dark cult you create in a video game, right?
But, the thing is Mars himself had long ago left behind his not-at-all-pious-Catholic-boy days, and when Tuesday walks up the steps that lead to the Church of Ceaseless Downpour, there are reminders of the gothic churches Mars’ grandparents used to take him to as a kid. Despite it all, even back then he had always thought those looked pretty damn savage too.
"Damn, you went all out. I like the aesthetic." The blonde smirks, a hint of sharp fangs showing itself right before she pauses at the entryway. There’s rain at the windows and lightning flashes inside. He really had gone all out.
"Rain Dance, huh? I like that. Good thing I brought my umbrella." She winks at him, pulling out an umbrella from beneath her crimson cape as if she had always had it there to begin with. It had obviously just come from her inventory.
"Do you know what you’ll say? Every good ritual has to have a chant… Maybe some sigils drawn on the floor? Candles for atmosphere? Oh, this is exciting. Count me in."
Who better to bring to a ritual than an alchemist?

"Where'd you get that from?"
He's not an idiot; he knows she's pulled it from her inventory, but where had she purchased it from? Being a Swimmer since day one, Finn had never been worried about getting wet. Water, rain, it all slid right off him. Maybe he'd just dismissed the presence of parasols in the shops.
"Candles'd go right out when it starts raining... maybe that's part of the aesthetic, though." Humming in his throat, he pulls up the customization window to find some candles. After a minute, they begin to fade into existence around the duo. After a couple more seconds, it's as if they've always been there. Shadows dance along the dampened walls. "Can get chalk for the sigils. Red and white ought to do it." Kyogre's blue-and-white egg had red veins, after all. The rain felt like enough blue.
Chalk spawns on the pulpit next to the same waterlogged book about ancient legends that Allotta Bambooga had nearly burnt up with her fiery touch.
Finn picks up the red chalk, twirling it idly in his fingers.
"You're the alchemist," he grins, knowing his friend shares his flair for the dramatic. "What do you think we should say? Oh! This is the Church of the Ceaseless Downpour, by the way." Hence the eternal rainstorm outside. "Home of the Drowned, followers of our Lord and Savior Kyogre." His voice tightens around unshed laughter, though his smile gives him away. "Or maybe our Lady. Or whatever a giant whale deity identifies as."

Mismatched eyes inspect her surroundings, gaze of ruby and sapphire falling upon the interior of the church, and spinning the umbrella as if it were a baton, Tuesday retells the riveting tale of how she obtained such a rare and unique item:
"I traded some guy a Sleep Powder soothie for it. Told him that if you fall asleep in game, Cresselia might visit you and you’ll get a strand of her DNA." She shrugs. That’s what she does at her shop, after all: sell her wares for either bytes or items that interest her. Maybe the “T” in “T.E.A” stands for “Trade”. And, yet… "Between you and I, I didn’t even know what Cresselia was until looking for a pitch for the smoothies."
There’s a grin: as entertained as it is filled with wickedness.
Had it been a scam? Maybe, maybe not. It’s not like Tuesday is responsible for the rumours believed by UNOVR players.
"Church of Ceaseless Downpour. I like it. It has a nice ring to it… Home of the Drowned…Hmm… Pixel, what are Kyogre’s symbols?"
The golden pokéball at her belt clicks open, and from it emerges a small wisp of light. It darts from one end of the church to another at incredible speed, all until ending up back at Tuesday’s side. It’s a Rotom wearing a Meowth headband.
<'Kyogre, The Sea Basin Pokémon. Kyogre has red stripes around its chin, eyes, dorsal fins, and torso. These stripes glow when Kyogre is brimming with power. In its Primal form, they resemble Alpha symbols. Would you like Pixel to draw Kyogre’s markings for you?'>
Tuesday looks at Finnegan Fjord, an eyebrow raised. "That’s up to Finn." Walking through the spacious church and twirling her umbrella, she moves on to the next item in the list:
”Chants…Chants… Oh! Maybe a sea shanty? Isn't 'The Wellerman' about a whale? Or, hmm… Waking the seas. The endless ebb and flow of tides. You who are first, Alpha, and original. Hear our call. Bless this downpour with brine and spume. May your Primordial Sea drown us all." Tuesday smirks once more. Cil would know well that Mars has always enjoyed poetry and had a way with words. ”Something like that? We can work on it. What are you gonna call yourself, by the way? Guess if it’s a god, then you’re its herald.”

"Cresselia? Never heard of it."
He knows about Kyogre, and a little bit about Groudon and Rayquaza by proxy. Also, apparently the Mew they'd run into at the Cat Tower was classified as a 'Mythical Pokémon', which was kind of like a legendary Pokémon except when it wasn't.
Finn grins at the sight of the Rotom with its cat ears; not knowing what the Pokemon originally looked like, he doesn't even register that it's not part of its anatomy. Pokémon were weird like that.
"You've probably got a better eye than me for that kind of thing," he acquiesces to the Rotom. Then his eyes narrow. "Shit, I forgot to turn Poke-Speech back off. No offense," he adds. "It's not you."
It wasn't Finn, either, but rather Finn's more bratty teammates.
"Sea Shanties are good. Don't know if Kyogre will appreciate Drunken Sailor, sadly..." Whatever poetry Tuesday produces sounds far more interesting, and blue eyes gleam in the candlelit gloom of the Church. "Yeah. Yeah, that's good."
What will he call himself? Finn smirks.
"The Oracle."
He's sure Mars will appreciate that.

<'Pixel takes no offence!'> Pixel declares, darting over to Finnegan Fjord and taking the chalk from him. How does the little plasma do so? That’s a mystery, but Finn may just feel a mild zap of electricity. Tuesday herself lets out a light chuckle, although if this is because of Finn’s reluctance to keep Poké-speech enabled or the Rotom’s response is unknown (honestly, it’s a little bit of both)
At least the Rotom gets to work right away, approaching the stone floors of the church and drawing upon them incredibly precise lines that begin to resemble some of Kyogre’s markings. As far as Tuesday can tell, at least. She had only looked up the legendary pokémon once, after Finn had first told her about the egg and the church.
"Hmm… Yeah, I’ll rearrange it a little, but I think it works as a chant. We should probably put the egg in the middle of the circle, right? Candles over here and…"
She pauses.
Looking at Finn, she can’t help but grin at the mention of the “Oracle” title.
"Not bad, Oracle of the Ceaseless Downpour."
Mars does appreciate it indeed.

Kyogre's egg is durable, yet Finn is incredibly gentle as he lays it in the center of the drawn circle. He's careful about where he steps, not wanting to disrupt the chalk markings laid out by Tuesday's Rotom.
Silly as this was, it was also weirdly exciting.
While Tuesday arranges the candles, Finn brings out the members of his team with access to Rain Dance.
His starter, Emperor the Piplup.
His heavy-hitter, Caiman the Croconaw.
His sea monster, Naga the Gyarados.
His ace, Monarch the Shinx.
His keyring...? Warden, the Klefki.
And finally, Atlas the Metang.
Four of them are arranged at the end of the lines, one in the center of those four, and the hulking Gyarados curls its serpentine form around the top of the circle. A crack of thunder rattles the windows of the Church, and Finn grins.
"I, Finnegan Fjord, Oracle of the Ceaseless Downpour and leader of the Drowned, command it to rain!"
He claps his hands together, dramatic effect, and rain it does.

The actors take their positions around the sigil drawn by Pixel, chess pieces upon this chessboard of theirs. An umbrella opens, and from its dark shade, eyes of ruby and sapphire watch as Finnegan Fjord – the self-proclaimed Oracle of Kyogre – calls for rain.
It’s at that moment that the ceaseless downpour rains down upon the confines of its own church.
It falls at a pleasant rhythm, crashing down upon stone and umbrella, and yet also softly sliding off water pokémon and Swimmer alike…
It’s in a solemn that Tuesday begins the chant, her words flowing just as the waters summoned by a rain dance:
”O Kyogre, it’s in this ceaseless downpour that we call to you. May you rise once more with the call of high tide. You who are master of endless ebb and flow.
Wake the seas. Bless this downpour with brine and spume. Bring upon this cursed land the great torrent that shall drown us all.
May the waters flow as endless as our hatred for your enemies and their kin. May the world be your eternal pool, the Primordial Sea over which you will one day rule.” A little dramatic perhaps, but this is a cult, after all. Tuesday never disappoints.

The stage is set, and suitably soaked as Tuesday begins her chant.
When the last syllables of her melodic (and suitably dramatic) verse fade into the ceaseless downpour of rain upon dark stone, Finn places his hand on the large egg. Its red veins seem to pulse, as if welcoming his heat.
"Hear our voices, Kyogre, and awaken."
Beneath his palm, the egg shakes for the first time.
