Orion landed with a thud, perhaps a side effect of having teleported while falling, but he chose to believe he'd dropped into here from the Precipice shrine, RP and all that good shit. Dusting himself off, the fighter righted himself and taking a look around. "Love what you've done with yourself Setti boi," he grunted with a mild sense of sarcasm. "I'm here on unusual buisnes today, none of the usual pomp and circumstance unless you're really gonna twist my nips for it." Taking a few steps he would find himself standing under the looming figure.
"All sorts of spirits end up down here, not of their own volition. Some are sent here by trainers who don't care, some are just victims of circumstance. I could care less how they got here, I just know they deserve better. I want to bring any and all of them that yearn for a second chance back, to give them a shot at life again. So, pick me a winner, one who wants it, no, needs it the most, and I'll give them a loving home. A second life with a family that cares and loves them, and I'll tackle whatever it is you have in store for me. I'll take any test you have, I'll ace the fucker, and I'm taking them to the surface. Hell, give me the hardest trial you've got and I'll take the lot."
With still injured fingers, Orion clenched his fists and awaited the wraiths reply.

Orion Cayge has returned, this time without pizza or a score to settle. Instead, the fighter bears an unusual request.
Seta does not hesitate.
Long, half-obscured fingers reach up, plucking one of the golden masks from the statues. This one bears the face of a SEEDOT, its golden visage eerily smooth. It lacks nose or mouth, much like Seta themselves.
"A seed. Buried before it could grow."
Seta passes Orion the mask, a patch of austere grayness moving across the man's skin for a moment like a passing cloud. "Ensure it does not fall."
They lead you to a low portal leading into blackness. There is no frame, for that would imply a door. Instead, you feel the strong sense of the single step forward taking you across a vast distance.
You pass through the darkness. It's as brief as blinking, and you find yourself in a new world.

They say a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step, but so does a fall for a hundred stories. The fighter found himself balanced precariously on the frosty platform, taking in the trial set before him. The last one had been...difficult in it's own sort of way. It had tested his sense of determination, his drive, and forced him to face himself, and he was certain he was in for the very same this time around. He could barely tell where the next platform was, obscured in the fog and mist, it was no sooner than he had figured out where it was that he felt a crack beneath his feet.
Of course, this was going to be timed.
Gritting his teeth, the figher charged forward through the mist and the darkness, forcing himself to compromise some of his forward speed in exchange for careful foot placement. The edge could catch him at any moment, and without a proper plant he wouldn't make the jump to the next platform. Worse yet, if he overstepped he would go tumbling forward into the darkness below with no jump and no hope of reaching the next platform. It was an exercise in control, perception, and even speed. The outline of the frosty platform came into view, and as it did Orion prepared himself mentally, planted one step away from the edge, and flung forward to the next platform over.
Flying through the air, Seta's words towards the fighter suddenly took new meaning. "Ensure it does not fall."
He would hit the next frosty platform skidding, his shoes sliding across the frosty surface as his momentum carried him forward and friction failed to slow his speed. His timer was the Seedot falling, and he'd probably need to catch it. Stumbling, he would recover his form and force himself forward. He'd been given a softball jump, but also a warning. If he went too fast he would slide, and risked going off the platform, too slow and he wouldn't make it. Yet he didn't have time to wax poetic about finding the platforms and gauging his speed, for if he spent too much time on that the platform would break beneath his feet.
It had to be juuuust right.

The first jump had been a softball, an easy gap with plenty of runway if he over shot it. The rest wouldn't be so easy, and putting everything into perspective Orion wished he was back in the desert looking for his shadow again. The cold made breathing hurt, each labored intake of air like a crisp knife stuck in his ribs as his heart labored. Feet pounded against the ice, cracks reverberating behind him like echoing gunshots as he made his way forward, identifying the next platform as fast as he could.
It was father than the last one, but not that far.
He'd overshot the last one, and luckily had the ability to recover, but he didn't think he would be lucky again. He took a couple of pounding steps and flung himself forward through the air, landing with a controlled slide across the ice. Pivoting his legs like an ice skater he would propel himself forward again, before regaining the controlled lope of a run forward. He didn't have time to look backwards at where he'd been, at the broken platforms behind him, only forward.
Scanning forward, he would struggle to find the next platform as he ran, slowing his pace ever so slightly to buy more time while hopefully not losing much needed momentum. This was jump three and already things were getting sticky, he couldn't imagine how many more he had before him, and frankly he didn't want to think about it too much. He didn't have time for things like fear, or anxiety right now, those would only anchor him down and drag him and the mon he was trying to help into the depths. Finally though, he would find the next platform and speed up. The gap growing, and his time to find out where he was going shrinking, an uncomfortable combination. Still, he found the edge and leapt once again, into the cold dark unknown.

Three jumps down, and Orion was beginning to get a handle on the recovery aspect of it. He was no longer running, he was skating across the icy platforms using his forward momentum to drag him forward while his eyes scanned for the next target. The platforms were getting shorter, the first one had afforded him a long runway to find the next platform, and a long way for him to slide before recovering. While hard to tell, he had to imagine that it had been at least twenty or thirty yards in length, but with each jump the gap grew wider and the platforms smaller. This one couldn't be more than ten yards long, the length of a first down on football. His eyes landed on the next target, and he began to build up speed as he gauged the gap. He had a sneaking suspicion that soon it would be less about gauging if he'd overshoot the jump, but if he could make it at all.
Still, undaunted, Orion carried himself forward, building up as much speed as he could and propelled himself off the ground towards the next platform. He didn't have time to think about what would happen if he failed, he didn't have time to think about why this seedot was here, or why Seta had put this trial before him. All he could think about was finding the next platform and getting to it.
After all, what was the point of self preservation if you let others get hurt?
Landing, Orion found himself proppeling towards the edge at an alarming rate, and it wasn't until he was moments from the edge had he found where he was even going next, with a grunt through gritted teeth the fighter managed to squat low, and with all the power his legs could muster, leaped through the mist for his next platform. It was only at this time did he catch the mere whisper of what he was looking for.
"Help me"
That one whisper of a cry added fuel to the fire, his desire to march forward as he flung himself forward with renewed speed. He would not fail.

The cries of the Seedot grew closer with each jump, and with each cry Orion found his heart pounding harder, his breaths sharper, and his velocity increasing. Each platform grew smaller and smaller, like ice cubes islands melting in a boiling sea, and as the islands grew smaller the mist grew thicker and hard to see. Yet it mattered not, no time to look before leaping, he was in the air and spotting his landing zones on the fly, living on a daredevils prayer.
Because it was all he could do.
There was no more restraint, no more control, no tactical thoughts in his head whatsoever. Just the desire to go forward, to save the small seedot, to let him have the chance that he'd been denied from the word go. It was getting harder and harder to breath, harder and harder to think, and frankly Orion was at his limit, but at last he saw the faint silhouette of Seedot growing closer...growing...dangerously close to falling past his level. With a roar, the fighter propelled himself forward, platforms barely the size of a foothold as he practically flew forward. Not even caring if there was a platform to land on, Orion gave one last jump off of legs that were screaming in pain as he flew through the air, arms outstretched. The flight felt like forever as all of the world seemed to slow to a crawl. Straining with every inch of himself, Orion managed to get the tips of his fingers under the tiny seed boy. Bending them, he rolled the scared ball into his arms, clutching it tight to his chest as he spun his body midair, placing himself between whatever he and the seed would land on.
"I've got you." he whispered softly. "Let's make like a tree and get the fuck out of here."
And with that he fell into the darkness, eventually landing on his back with a THWUMP as he escaped Seta's trial, mon in hand.

As Orion shields Seedot from the impending fall, the color fades from the stark landscape. Time slows, and the pair hang in the frozen air.
"What is cold and hostile," says Seta from somewhere nearby. "May also be challenge. A path to something worthwhile."
The fog lifts for a moment, revealing your distance from the starting platform. The many chunks of floating grey ice that Orion crossed to get here hang in the sky, cracked from time and effort. Each was perilous to cross, and they form a winding, slippery path that lead right here.
"You have passed the Trial of Fog."
The gray at the edge of your vision pushes close, engulfing you and your saved soul, and then a flash of vermillion as you find yourself back in the hall you started in. Back at the crossroads.
Red gates fill the sky, and Seta is nowhere to be found, though his words echo in your mind long after you leave the halls.
"Nothing leaves the Everworld unchanged."
Seedot has been added to orioncayge's box. Seedot has learned Sky Drop!
