The wind swept gently across the dry grass of the steppe, causing a picturesque swirl to the horizon as the group stood gathered ready for battle. Orion had honestly been surprised he got as many people as he had, and a mix of fresh and old faces to boot at that. In the distance the lonely unstruck spire stood like a menacing monolith, far enough away that they had not earned the ire of the nest, yet. Yet close enough to cause an anticipatory shiver to run down the fighters spine. All of this brooding and staring was doing a number on his nerves, yet he couldn't help but think maybe they needed a few more people. A beeping at his wrist drew his attention to his watch.
It was high noon and time to rumble.
"Aight fuck it, if anyone else is coming they'll have to join in mid dance." Turning back to the group, Orion would let a cocksure grin bloom across his face as he kicked the white igloo cooler filled with refreshments shut and plopped his bag down on it. "Listen up, cause this plan isn't very complicated but it can go sideways as fuck if we don't coordinate aight?" Giving them a moment to nod along he would begin.
"This bad boy" he began, slapping his bag affectionately, "Has the mother of all bugbombs in it. These boots," again he would pause to click his metalic heels, "Are made for walking...vertically up that spire. We're gonna take this bomb, climb the spire, plop it down in the nest, and make it go boom. That should get the Yanmas to fuck off. If it sounds stupid easy, it's because it should very much be. There should be enough outcroppings on the spire that with the climbing gear provided," again he would motion to a pile of gear off to his left, "following me up there shouldn't be too much an issue either." He would give it a pregnant pause for it all to sink in, and then nod his head.
"So once again, to dumb it down. Protect the payload, climb the spire, kaboom. Any questions? Good, make sure you hydrate up and lets get this show on the road."
