Bunya's mouth waters as she looks over the two Pokeballs that Big Bee sets before her. "Thanks for your donyation!" she says, pulling out a bottle of soy sauce from her lab coat (is that where all the stains come from?) "I'm halfway to starting my own restaurant at this point! It's the rent that gets ya, though." She taps her temple knowingly and snatches up the pair of Pokemon. She's probably definitely not actually eating them.
A 'FEED BUNYA' tip jar has been set up by the time manish rolls around with his Litten. At the sight of the "other" cat, Bunya jumps up on her chair, flapping her lab coat threateningly to appear much bigger than she is. "SSSSS!" she spits, then seems to realize where she is and jumps down again. "Sorry about that, sometimes my nyaatural reflexes just take over!" Eying one another uneasily, she and Litten trade a few getting-to-know-each-other smacks before Bunya hands Manish his reward.

“Hello, uh, Dr. Bunya?” Manish called as he stumbled into the lab. “I think I have a pokemon that you still were uh, asking for?” He wandered up to the counter and placed a pokeball down. He didn’t really want a repeat of last time with the whole hissing and batting at the pokemon thing. It just seemed like a lot of stress for everyone that he would prefer to avoid. “It’s a um, a uh, otter. No, like, not an actual otter. But um. Hang on, I know this…” Manish paused to pick at some of the mushrooms in his hair. “O…osh…osha? No that’s the construction thing…” Suddenly Manish perked up. “Oshawott! Yeah, one of those. You still need it, right?”

Bunya's cat eyes widen as manish brings her yet another Pokemon. "Nya-ha-ha, another worthy offering to the great goddess of seafood and Pokemon nyacademia," she says, lounging in a sunbeam. The 'FEED BUNYA' tip jar has been filled with seawater, and a few tiny fish are swimming around, sucking at the coins on the bottom of the jar.
"Less OSHA and more ocean, that's what I always say." She gives you a few slow blinks as she disappears below the counter, taking the tip jar with her.

Sarah looked along the dock with her one good eye. The other was still swollen shut. The jetty was deserted, at least of other players, and there were a few NPC fisherman with their lines dipped over the edge.
She strode over to the laboratory/stall and placed down the ball. "One Scorbunny for you, doctor." She said, addressing the catgirl running the operation. "Do I need to sign anything?"
"Also. While I'm here, I'll take anything you have anything for bruises." |

"Oh my god, what happened to your eye?" Yggy blurted out as he arrived at Bunya's Starter Stand. For some reason there was always someone ahead of him in line when he came here, but he guessed that was natural, since so many beta players were trying to catch starters for the Professor. Anyway, the asian chick ahead of him had a crazy black eye, like she'd taken a baseball to the face. "That doesn't look so good! Maybe you should go to the shrine," he said, concerned, as he absentmindedly handed over the two Pokemon he'd caught to Bunya. "Huh? Oh, it's a Chespyn and a Froakye! Haha, pretty cool, right? If I had a Fennekyn it'd have been all three from Kalos!"

Bunya shakes her head emphatically at Sarah Lee. "Sorry! Nyat that kinda doctor!" she says in a 'tough luck, kid!' kind of way. She does take the Scorbunny, however, the clear perpetrator of the rabbit-foot-shaped bruise on the young woman's face. "Nyow if you bring me a fossil, I can fix that right up! I'm a world-renyowned Palenyantologist, you knyow." She puffs herself up self-importantly.
She takes the Chespin and Froakie from Yggy and hands him his reward with the same absentminded attitude as the boy, continuing to talk to Sarah Lee instead. The girl didn't look like much, but there was something about her even an NPC seemed eager to impress. "Nyao need to sign anything, I'll ship these straight to Ashie. Heh! We'll be off of this island in nyao time!"

Manish strolled into the lab and gave a small wave over to Bunya. “Hello Dr. Bunya! I have another pokemon from you. This one is a pig.” He set the pokeball down on the counter. “Oh, um, I did also get this thing? If you want it? Um. I think you like uh, fish, right?” He glanced over at the fish filled tip jar. “This was from a really big fish. Like, super big. We killed it, I think you would have liked it. Like, um, we uh, well, we actually exploded it.” Manish realized he was rambling and awkwardly scratched at a mushroom in his hair. “Anyway, do you want this filet?” Manish took out the large chunk of fish he had acquired from the Splashmother. He’s fairly certain Mumble snagged it with the intention of eating it, but he was still pretty mad at her. And also didn’t really like the idea of one pokemon trying to eat another. That just didn’t seem right. Actually, eating the bit of Splashmother at all was rather unsettling. He just didn’t want it to be his problem anymore. Also it was starting to smell. Dr. Bunya goes from being mildly interested in the "pig" to being very interested in Manish's second offer. She ignores Manish's rambling.
The doctor only has eyes for the fish.
Her pupils dilate, expanding into dark pools that reflect the slab of perfectly cooked carp. The lab assistant creeps forward, easing the giant fillet out of the Gardener's hands as if she's afraid he might snatch it away again if she moves too suddenly.
"No takesbacksies!" she says, the moment the fish has left Manish's grasp. She cradles it like an enormous, grilled child. Its sheer weight seems to bear her down, and she sinks slowly beneath the table. "Take the tip jar, leave the pig!"
Before she disappears completely, a greasy sign that says 'OUT TO NYANCH' appears on the desk.

“Hey, Bunya!” Manish called as he strolled into the lab. “Do you still need, um, need more? Uh, hang on. I wrote down what they were called. Just um, just a second.” Manish started to dig through his bag, knocking various full and empty pokeballs around. He could never keep track of what was what so he started just writing the names of the pokemon on the balls. After a few moments of awkward silence where he kept shooting apologetic smiles at Bunya, Manish finally pulled out two pokeballs. “Here we go! Do you still need a uh,” he turned both balls to see the names scrawled on the tops, “a um, a Rowlet and a Torchic? Oh hey! Those are almost the same! Well, I mean, not uh, not really. But I mean, one’s an owl. One’s a chick. So. Um, the same as in both uh, both birds? I guess? Nevermind. Forget I said anything. Do you want them?”Manish offers ROWLET and TORCHIC

Bunya waits patiently, cleaning her teeth with one claw as Manish fumbles for the right balls. When he finally pulls them out and puts them on the counter she stops her picking.
Her eyes narrow. She looks between Manish and his latest offering.
"Is this some sort of joke?" She askes, her fangs sharp and prominent. "Torchic and Rowlet? Two birds?" One of the balls tips over and rolls towards her. She hisses and bats it away across the table. "You expect me to accept birds right after bringing me a gargantunyan fillet?"
She glares at Manish, willing him to offer more delicious fish. After a second, the fear of losing her current offering twigs in her head and she grabs the Torchic and Rowlet. "I'll take these, but you're on thin nyaice."

"I'm back!" Sarah said, tossing the Pokeball to Bunya. "Definitely don't need a frog on my team. Especially not a grass type." Pity dripped from Sarah's voice, as if being grass type were an incurable disease. It was, really.
When compared to her darling fire types, it wasn't much of a contest. Tepig had just single-handedly taken out 13 Bulbasaur in a single shot, and Sarah was still riding the high of the decisive victory.
"What's your favorite Pokemon type, Bunya?" Sarah asked, making small talk with the Doctor.

Bunya sits up at the sight of the Pokeball, but slumps listlessly again when she hears what it is. She sighs, plopping it into her big bowl of starter Pokémon balls that has the middle eaten out of it like a doughnut. "Thanks for nya contribution," she says, resting her chin on the table.
Sarah Lee's question perks the good Doctor up again and she sits up straight, spinning her pen around her fingers. "That's gotta be rock-type, chickadee!" she says immediately, a twinkle in one eye. "Betcha didn't guess that one, hmm? I'm the world-renyowned famous Fossil Doc!" She throws her lab coat open wide. "One of a kind!"

Sarah returned, again bearing the spoils of battle. "Got another one for you," she said, playfully tossing the ball to the good doctor. "Totodile. They were swarming up in the canopy. We've really thrown the system here out of whack!"
"Oh, and I got you a little something too. It's not a rock type, and I don't even think there are any rock types on the island, but it is a rock." Sarah put down a cool rock she'd found up by the headland. It had recently split from one of the formations there, and had a partial fossil across one side.

"BUNYA." Allotta strolled up on the scene, dropping a Mudkip's pokeball on the counter. "Bunya, I missed you. It feels like I've not visited here in two to three months, even though logically I know that isn't right."
She glanced around, then squinted at the board with the Starters they still had to collect.
"Oh hey, we're almost done! What happens when we get them all, again? I forgot." Or, more like she hadn't read it at all.
Hopefully, Bunya liked one of the semi-murdered Mudkip from the Swarm.

On one quiet morning in which Dr. Bunya came to their shack on the coast, she surprisingly found a gift there waiting for her just behind the door. It was a little basket with a Pokéball inside of it. A note was stuck to the side of it which she could clearly read.
Hey, Ms. Bunya. I don't think we've properly met before, and we might not for a while. It seemed that you weren't around last night, so I thought I'd drop this off for you to keep. I'm pretty sure Ms. Ash wanted one of these.
I also saw something strange off the side of your coast, but the problem was resolved. Just be careful if you go out to swim there for a little while. Please be safe, I care about your well-being.
