Rose immediately giggled as the monkey Pokemon apparently found a man inside the tree.

"Silly man! The bandana was on the ground!" She speaks up, pointing to the square cloth that Torino had found. She then promptly ignores him, in favor of the far more interesting questions.

"Ooh, Autumn is so fun! I love all the pretty leaves! And the turkey! And the candy! And- and-"

"What's a Turkey?" Moab suddenly spoke, tilting its head as it shoved over a massive log, using its helmet as a lever to rip it up.

"... Uh-" She blinked. Was there a Turkey Pokemon? She didn't think there was. "A uh, big, tasty bird! I think?"

"Good enough," said Moab, digging its feet into the mud. It suddenly paused, slowly stepping back. "Are rocks supposed to be colorful?"

"Huh?" Rose's head immediately whipped around, cute little beetle wings abuzzing as she floated over towards Moab. Only for this loud gasp to spill from her lips. She dived into the muddy earth, pulling out large eggs that rolled across the ground. She immediately clung to one of them, holding it close to her chest.

"Egg friend! I knew we'd find you! I wonder what is inside you? Last egg friend had Cheese inside." She mumbled to herself, before pointing the other Egg out to Torino and their Grookey.

"That's an egg! Not the man, silly!"

Rose was having the time of her life! Granted, she didn't know how to shift the jeep out of first gear, and it had taken her forever to even get into drive, but she was grinning like mad as she kneeled on the driver's seat of the car.

"Yeah! Just like that! Put your weight on the peddle!" Rose cried out, glancing down at the Sprigatito who was just lazily resting on the gas.

"... I am."

"Then how do we go faster?" She hummed in thought, although maybe it wasn't the best idea to just rush for speed. These roads didn't seem exactly super safe. There were many holes in these roads! She was having fun turning the steering wheel and experimenting with it turning though. But speed was fun too!

It seemed she had a ton to learn about cars! Didn't they usually come with instruction books? She didn't read those anyways, but all these buttons seemed mighty tempting. Where even would that be in a car anyways? Under the seats? She debated crawling down to look around when she saw something in the distance.

Seeing a figure on the road calling out to her, apparently looking for her, Rose couldn't help but grin. She immediately reached a hand out of the car, waving wildly. "Hey! You! Lady with the monkey! That's me! I'm Rose!"

Rose giggled, and Sprigatito took that as a sign to climb off the gas. The vehicle slowed down immensely, although it did continue to just ever so slowly roll forwards, not exactly set to park.

"I knew I would find you! Come, hop in! I just started learning to drive!" She beamed so brightly, just as bright as the headlights would be. If she knew how to turn them on.

The car just continued to roll right past Torino, and Rose paused confused for a second before she realized. Right! Brakes! "Brake please!" She spoke down to her cat, who once again just lazily flopped against the brake, bringing the car to a stop.

"There we go!" Rose laughed again and suddenly just climbed over to the passenger side to open the door for them, before climbing back into her driver's seat. "Come on! We got places to go, things to find!"

Rose was hurt at first, only for it to dawn on her as well. That grinding sound was terrible, and it hurt her ears, but it meant she was doing something! She suddenly laughed as well, quickly standing up and drying her tears.

"Right! I'm really g-good at breaking things! Lemme just-" She reached up with her sticky Catcher hands, grabbing another lever and pulling hard, pressing her feet against the console and tugging with all her might, breaking another lever and suddenly tossing it out into the world where it eventually got caught between some other gears, visibly stalling at least a few gears.

"That's the spirit, girlie! Rip it up! Tell that ____ng stupid puzzle what's up!"

Rose laughed, downright giggling. This might not be the solution intended, but it was her solution! Just like that stupid Rubix Cube! Who needed to know how to twist it and turn it, when she could peel off the stickers and move them? Or rip off the squares and put them back!

Sometimes, destruction was the answer.

Although in truth, the more accurate answer was simply believing in herself and her talents. Sometimes you didn't need to be the smartest, or the strongest, or even the coolest. You just had to be the most creative. And she could do creative.

She worked to rip lever after lever off the console. Some of them were too solid, so she'd abandon those ones and move onto the more rusty levers. She'd eventually break, bend, or twist off most of them, and at her feet sat a huge pile of broken rods.

"I'm gonna get you out of here!" Rose yelled, picking up a lever and once again tossing it into the gears. "And then, we're gonna have cereal at Not-Mom's House!" She'd toss levers in every direction, up, down, and all around her. Some of them never caught between any gears, just laying atop of them, or getting shoved around easily enough. But some of them definitely caught, stalling some gear chains up completely, no matter how hard they struggled to move. Eventually, a huge majority of the gears in the room were stuck.

"A-and then, we're gonna go beat up that mean lady!"

Sure enough, with most of the room frozen, the Seedot was plain to see, hanging far below her.

Hesitantly, Rose reached up, and gently turned pushed a lever upwards. Suddenly the whole world seemed to shift. Some gear somewhere began to turn in the opposite direction, and it set off this massive chain of effect.

But Rose had no idea what to do with this information. She tried flipping it back and forth, seeing what gears actually changed, but there were at least 15 that seemed to shift! And considering the whole place was still moving, she lost track constantly!

"Man, this sucks." She mumbled to herself, frowning.

"What's the problem?" The voice echoed from behind her from a few moments, but this time Rose didn't bother to try to turn around, knowing her new Seedot friend would be moved elsewhere when she did.

"There's so many levers! I don't know what they do! I flipped one, and stuff changed, but I can't tell! I'm not good at puzzles! I always let Keightlyn play with the rubix cubes during playtime!"

The Seedot was quiet for a few seconds, before its voice seemingly echoed from above. "____ it. Flip them all."

With a quiet laugh, Rose quickly began to move. Flipping levers up and down at random, moving from console the console. The whole world shifted and changed rapidly, everything either moving in rapidly different directions, stopping entirely, or just moving at different speeds. She had to admit, it was at least a little fun.

That is, until she yanked a bit too hard on a lever, and the rusty metal rod just snapped leaving her with a metal stick in her hands.

"Oops."

This world was filled with gears, cogs, and the hiss of steam as this world seemingly powered some unseen machine. She was genuinely stunned, having no idea what she was looking at as she stood atop a massive platform. Her eyes were gazing across everything moving, before the ground suddenly shook beneath her, rotating slowly. She was standing on this massive, slow-moving gear!

Rose looked around, trying to find the Pokémon. It didn't take long before she spotted the little seed, seemingly clutched in some kind of harness, spinning around some cog that rapidly shifted around the room in unpredictable ways. This device was so complicated, she couldn't even see them half the time.

"Hello?" Rose called out, trying to get their attention. "I'm here to get you out!"

What she got in response, was nothing like she was expecting. It was like their words were cut out into silence every couple of seconds, maybe something strange about this land.

"Oh, ____ing fantastic. Another fu____ing human, here to mess up my day. Go ahead, you little __it. It's not like you can do worse than that ____ng she-devil ___hole." It shouted back, with such genuine vile and vitriol in its tone. Rose was genuinely taken aback, startled and flopping onto her butt.

"I swear, I was just chilling. Just existing, doing my own ___ing thing. When this little ___it comes out of nowhere and starts talking about me getting in their way! Newsflash, I was just existing! And the __ch has the gall to kick me! Me!" The voice echoes around the chamber, growing quieter and louder as its moved around the room in random movements, even going up and down, back and forth, side to side.

"And then! She ___ng sacrifices me! Tosses me in the hole! Like I'm just some god___ pest! I fought for my life! I knocked out so many of her _____ Pokemon! And they kept coming back! Why the hell didn't they leave? Why did they keep ____ing coming back? Did they want to make me miserable? Did they just want me to ____ suffer?" The last words sounded more... sad, than angry. Like the trauma had built up for months and months, with no outlet, no way to cope, just bottling up all this pain, hurt, and anger inside them.

How long had they been trapped here?

Rose still didn't know know what to do, but her poor heart hurt. She just frowned deeply, slowly spinning as the gear beneath her would occasionally click and rotate to the next gear.

"...What's required is a little care."

"Umm... Mr. Seed?"

"What the ____ do you want?" It replied angrily, pain audible in its voice.

"Do you, umm, want to come home with me? I promise I'll give you lots of snacks! I'll even give you cereal if you want it! And we can go find that mean lady, a-and tell her how rude she was!"

The Seedot didn't respond. For a moment, Rose almost thought it didn't hear her. She was just about to start up again before their voice spoke up again.

"Fine. But we're finding that ____ing lady. And this time, I'm going to be the one kicking her."

With a smile, Rose finally got back up to her feet. "Okay!" Now it was just time to figure out, how to actually bring them home.

Rose loved this game, so much. She played almost every day after she got home.

When she wasn't playing with her friends, or doing her homework, that is. But it was precisely those friends that filled her head with ideas. Some of them knew so much more about Pokémon than she could ever dream of!

Susie said her older brother was a Pokémon Champion! That was hard to top!

But they were such a wealth of information and advice. Especially considering her egg friend that she had here. Zygarde. It apparently showed up in the games when the ecosystem was threatened. She had recently learned about stuff like that in school! Where animals and plants lived, the weather, and everything else! It was kind of interesting and cool, she had asked so many questions about it all!

But today, she was set out on a quest. Ostellia looked like it's ecosystem was a little bit messed up. Plants had grown right back through the city streets, a mess of ships filled the waters, and desert stands creeped even closer into the broken city.

It seemed like the perfect place that could use a Zygarde friend to help keep the balance. No Pokémon lived here! Only these weird beasts that didn't look like Pokémon at all.

She had just recently found this old abandoned parking garage that had a massive tree growing straight out of the center of it, vines swirling around and cracking through the concrete. And she instantly decided this was the perfect place.

If the Zygarde back in the Worm Tree lived in a tree, surely this tree would be good for a baby! She even had a place to park her Jeep! The bright red Jeep sat in the corner of the concrete basement layer of the parking garage, playing some strange music. Her Sprigatito sat shamelessly on the driver's seat, rubbing its paws together as it laid there lazily.

"And what exactly do you have there?" The cat spoke, motioning to the garbage bag Rose dragged from the trunk of the vehicle. She had to literally drop it on the ground and drag it, far too heavy for her to lift!

"Oh! It's full of green things!" Rose grinned widely, as if that explained everything as she fought to drag the bag to the tree.

"... Like, plants?"

"No, silly! Okay, well, maybe some plants! But just, a lot of cool green things!" She stopped where she was, just dumping it out onto the broken concrete floor. All kinds of garbage just spread out, rolling around. From broken green pencils she scavanged to old green bottles that hadn't decayed, and even bits of green glass and ripped shirts! It looked like she even had the top-half of an old plastic chair, cracked down the middle.

"Umm, pardon me, but what exactly is the goal? I don't think eggs particularly enjoy garbage."

"It's not garbage! It's recycling! I learned about it in school! My friends said that the great wormy might love this kind of stuff!"

"Yeah, yeah. Okay. Recycling. Cool. If you need me, I'm going to be taking a nap." The Sprigatito said, curling up on the heated seats of the Jeep, soaking in its warmth.

"I need you to keep an eye out! If any of those nasty beasties come by, I need you to warn me! Or help fight!" Rose warned, frowning softly as she picked up a few scraps of green-ish fabric, carrying it over to the tree.

"Yeah, yeah. I will." The cat spoke, like a liar.

After all, Rose playing music from the Jeep alone probably attracted more attention than her playing in garbage would have, after all. She wasn't exactly the only trainer in this ruined city. Hearing modern music would probably attract almost anyone.

Another vote for cat, it seemed! With a laugh, Rose helped continue the search. She kneeled down, picking up a big rock that had been stuck in the ground, as if somehow an egg could hide under it.

She hummed listening to the other trainer speak. How expensive were eggs in the real world? She didn't know! Didn't like, chickens just make free eggs? Why did food have to cost money anyways? That always seemed silly to her. She understood when candy cost money! But eggs? Too far.

"I- uhh," Rose suddenly froze in thought at the question of the egg shirt came into play. Did she buy it? She certainly has it still, but where did she get the money for it? Did Auntie Tuesday get it for her? Did she spent her own bytes? She couldn't remember... Oh god, she hoped she didn't steal it. Stealing would be very bad. She could get in a lot of trouble for that! Worse than riding a bike without a helmet!

"Oh!" Rose was thankful for the distraction with the strange red fabric square. "I don't have a clue! Maybe it's a bandana? I've seen a few trainers with them! They're kind of common for some reason!"

She giggled to herself, glancing over at Moab who was busy at work shoving off another log, before peering into a hole in the ground.

"Find anything yet?"

"... Do you count leaves, rocks, logs, and mud as something?"

"Umm, yes? But anything interesting!"

"Then no."
