Rose loved this game, so much. She played almost every day after she got home.
When she wasn't playing with her friends, or doing her homework, that is. But it was precisely those friends that filled her head with ideas. Some of them knew so much more about Pokémon than she could ever dream of!
Susie said her older brother was a Pokémon Champion! That was hard to top!
But they were such a wealth of information and advice. Especially considering her egg friend that she had here. Zygarde. It apparently showed up in the games when the ecosystem was threatened. She had recently learned about stuff like that in school! Where animals and plants lived, the weather, and everything else! It was kind of interesting and cool, she had asked so many questions about it all!
But today, she was set out on a quest. Ostellia looked like it's ecosystem was a little bit messed up. Plants had grown right back through the city streets, a mess of ships filled the waters, and desert stands creeped even closer into the broken city.
It seemed like the perfect place that could use a Zygarde friend to help keep the balance. No Pokémon lived here! Only these weird beasts that didn't look like Pokémon at all.
She had just recently found this old abandoned parking garage that had a massive tree growing straight out of the center of it, vines swirling around and cracking through the concrete. And she instantly decided this was the perfect place.
If the Zygarde back in the Worm Tree lived in a tree, surely this tree would be good for a baby! She even had a place to park her Jeep! The bright red Jeep sat in the corner of the concrete basement layer of the parking garage, playing some strange music. Her Sprigatito sat shamelessly on the driver's seat, rubbing its paws together as it laid there lazily.
"And what exactly do you have there?" The cat spoke, motioning to the garbage bag Rose dragged from the trunk of the vehicle. She had to literally drop it on the ground and drag it, far too heavy for her to lift!
"Oh! It's full of green things!" Rose grinned widely, as if that explained everything as she fought to drag the bag to the tree.
"... Like, plants?"
"No, silly! Okay, well, maybe some plants! But just, a lot of cool green things!" She stopped where she was, just dumping it out onto the broken concrete floor. All kinds of garbage just spread out, rolling around. From broken green pencils she scavanged to old green bottles that hadn't decayed, and even bits of green glass and ripped shirts! It looked like she even had the top-half of an old plastic chair, cracked down the middle.
"Umm, pardon me, but what exactly is the goal? I don't think eggs particularly enjoy garbage."
"It's not garbage! It's recycling! I learned about it in school! My friends said that the great wormy might love this kind of stuff!"
"Yeah, yeah. Okay. Recycling. Cool. If you need me, I'm going to be taking a nap." The Sprigatito said, curling up on the heated seats of the Jeep, soaking in its warmth.
"I need you to keep an eye out! If any of those nasty beasties come by, I need you to warn me! Or help fight!" Rose warned, frowning softly as she picked up a few scraps of green-ish fabric, carrying it over to the tree.
"Yeah, yeah. I will." The cat spoke, like a liar.
After all, Rose playing music from the Jeep alone probably attracted more attention than her playing in garbage would have, after all. She wasn't exactly the only trainer in this ruined city. Hearing modern music would probably attract almost anyone.

Alas, it was always a bit unwise to draw so much attention to one’s self in the dangerous terrains of Ostellia. The Ultra Beasts that had invaded it called it home. And while only a few varieties were around consistently, that didn’t stop others from intruding on foreign domains to fight for sustenance. Such was what would appear to be the case, when a dragon-bee came storming in the ruined lot through the hole the tree had been growing out of. Chittering and hissing away as he looked around, the Naganadel was clearly investigating the sounds he could hear coming from the rather vibrant jeep. And then he locked his sight on little Rose, fluttering close to her and what she was doing. It looked to be a disaster in the making, until a sharp three-toned whistle pierced the air above even the modern music. The Naganadel perked up at the sound, as if recognizing it, and promptly disengaged from what might’ve been a very ugly fight. Leaving as quickly as he came, there would be a relative peace. ”Hello? Is everyone alright in there!?” came a concerned holler as Alicia arrived on the scene. If Rose came out to see who was speaking, she would find that the Naganadel hovered close to the pinkette hero wannabe, but otherwise didn’t do much else except hover there. Implying that he and she were actually on the same side. ——————————————————————— Rose Garden

As soon as the massive insect-like beast stormed into the lot as if it owned the place, Rose's eyes grew incredibly wide. It looked so cool! It was a giant bug! Her eyes immediately grew wide in awe, only for it to approach her and her instincts finally kicked in. Her trash was immediately dropped, moving to climb directly under the jeep for protection.
"Oh crap!" The Sprigatito was a bit slow to action, pouncing to its feet, entirely not expecting visitors, despite Rose asking it to keep an eye out. Before any moves could be fired towards the beast, it flew away at the tune of a whistle, making both Rose and her Sprigatito confused.
The music in the jeep just continued to play, the only sound echoing before a voice called out and revealed herself. As soon as Rose realized that the giant bug was friends with a trainer, all her caution immediately vanished. She immediately crawled back out from beneath the car like a gremlin, eagerly picking up a few pieces of trash, dumping them at the tree, before dashing over as fast as her little beetle wings could carry her.
"Wow!" She cried out, giggling to herself. "Your friend is really scary! But they're cool! Such a big buggy friend!" She held her arms out wide, as if trying to gauge the size of the beast before remembering what she was here to do again.
"But uh, yeah! We're good, right Sprigateeto?" She'd look back over at her Jeep, the cat standing atop it.
The cat would sigh, curling back up on the car. "Yeah, yeah okay. We're good."
Rose would then turn back around to look at Alicia Westfield with a wide grin on her face, arms both pointing at the tree and her piles of green trash like it was some grand sculpture, going 'Tada!' or something. "I'm making a shrine to the worm god! The great wormy! Recycling! I'm Rose! Nice to meet you!"

”Yeah, sorry about that. I was in the area exploring with Venex when he heard the music. Went tearing off without a second thought and left me racing to catch up.” Alicia answered back, before double taking at the sight of beetle wings on the young player’s back. How? Why? … Was this in the same vein as the numerous flowers she had growing in her hair? It seemed slight enough to be in that kind of ‘cosmetic addition’ category that the classes could apply. So perhaps she shouldn’t have been as surprised as she was that Rose seemed to be equally excited and spooked by Venex’s sudden arrival. Seeing as the Naganadel wasn’t causing any trouble at the moment, now that she’d gotten to the scene in time, the pinkette didn’t see any particular issue with leaving the Beast out to meander. … He’d certainly be more attentive on defensive measures compared to the now relaxing Sprigatito it seemed. If this was who Rose was having guard her in this continent, it was a wonder she hadn’t ended up in the Everworld for one reason or another. Without another thought, Alicia released two more of her team mates into the area, Giyun and Sylvene. ”Giyun, keep a perimeter against any trouble, alright? Sylvene, you’re on overwatch. Anything suspicious coming by, you bring it up to me right away, got it?””Loud ‘n Clear, Boss.” the Duraludon replied. Giyun did flash a small smile at the sight of Rose, nodding to himself. He could absolutely get behind keeping things secure for a kid. ”You’re quite demanding. But for such a precious youth I can accept some level of indiscretion.” the Pidgeotto fired back before ascending to her eagle-eyed position. ”So she says…” Alicia mused at Sylvene’s comment, shaking her head. Before she was serious, but now she was just keeping up airs. A lot changed ever since Jarzick… Shaking her head, Alicia smiled as Rose went to present the… ‘shrine’ she was making. At which point she turned thoughtful. A ‘worm god’? She was struggling at first to come up with any possible connections as to what Rose might be referring to. ”I’m not sure I’ve ever heard of a ‘worm god’ before…” Alicia mused softly. ”But yes, sorry for being so rude. The name’s Alicia. Pleasure’s mine.”Wait… she mentioned recycling specifically. Could it be…? ——————————————————————— Rose Garden

Rose was certainly intrigued as their new friend gave her Pokémon commands to protect keep more eyes out. That's what her cat was doing! But more eyes certainly wouldn't ever hurt anything! She giggled to herself, slowly walking back over to the back of her Jeep to grab a few more things.
"It's okay!" Rose grinned ear to ear as she looked at Alicia. "Not everyone knows the Worm God! The Great Wormie! He lives in the bottom of this massive other tree, filled with worms! And he's really cool!" None of that really explained anything, and didn't seem like Rose was the best at explaining these things either.
She had to jump up to pull the trunk open, slowly reaching in to grab and dump a few more things onto the ground. A particularly large green rug that she had soaked inside water to clean all the stains off of it, a can of green paint that was probably opened at some point, and a large bag of dirt suddenly tumbled out as well.
"All them other gods got shrines! Zapdos got the big one here! But the good worm has none! So, I'm making him one! He's all about recovering eco- uh, ecosystems, right!" She'd suddenly climb into the Jeeps trunk herself, scrambling up to grab something off the back seat. When she revealed herself again, she was suddenly holding an egg in her hands. It looked like black stone at first, before lime-green tessellations suddenly spread up from the bottom to the top. A Zygarde Egg, undeniably.
"Isn't that right, lil Wormy?"

A different massive tree? With a bunch of other worm like creatures? That sounded a lot like the Tree Of Worms that she’d gone into with Altair and Shalin a while back. And given a dragon could be found there… ”Zygarde?” Alicia asked curiously, pulling up her own inventory and looking at the singular strand of DNA she had. From what she’d read regarding the Dragon of Balance, it seemed to be a decent enough leap of logic. And then the little one went climbing up into the trunk, and Alicia extended a hand out in concern. But in spite of a bunch of things coming tumbling out, the girl seemed fine. It was certainly an interesting set of items. Some of which she wasn’t sure really fit the idea she was going for. But when Rose pulled out her Zygarde egg, Alicia double took at the sight of it. ”Wait, you have one?”It was too ridiculous regarding the coincidence. She recently gets a strand of Zygarde DNA and ended up meeting someone who had an entire Zygarde egg. So perhaps she should consider helping out somehow. Unfortunately, she hadn’t even considered that she might end up at a shrine in the midst of being constructed. So she didn’t exactly have any materials on her. ”I think I’m gonna head out for a short while. Though I plan on being right back. Going to try and find a bunch of aluminum piping or something. Something metallic that’s soft enough that I can bend it. I have an idea, and I’m going to need a lot of it…”She’d have to take Venex with her, as she didn’t want to leave Rose without some kind of reliable protection. The Sprigatito, with his outlook on things, was clearly woefully inadequate for the task. ——————————————————————— Rose Garden

"Of course I have one!" Rose spoke proudly, holding it up in her arms and cradling it close, like a child hugging her most prized posession. "We've been through a lot, me and Mr. Egg! We fought Zapdos! And then, we helped Zapdos! Together! Zooming through the sky in my little rocket ship!"
She'd grin incredibly widely, nodding her head towards the other trainer. If someone else wanted to add a few things to add to the shrine, she wasn't going to complain! It was like working together at a project at school! She loved working with her friends.
"Okay! But- Ooh! Wait wait!" Rose dropped down from her trunk, placing the egg down gently on the ground atop the bag of dirt. "Stay!" She'd say to the egg, before immediately twirling around and moving to dig into the front of the car. She had to climb up to open up the glove box, immediately pulling out a small, crinkled up piece of paper.
"I made a list! Of things for the wormy shrine!" She'd hold out it with glee for Alicia to take. "If you're grabbing stuff, can you please see if you can find anything on this list? I'll give you a few of the cookies I packed away from Not-Mom if you can!"
Sure enough, the list was a mess with terrible handwriting. Many things already crossed off, but a few items remained open. It was certainly very silly, but she seemed so proud of the list. Green Paintt. Lots of dirt for the wormies! bottles green stuff more green stuff a big rug remove red stains recycling bin green lights tennis balls stiks brocoli seeds seeds for more green plants real grass not real grass pencills green bird house so they dont eat the wormies

Whether by fate, coincidence, or next-gen grouping algorithm, Sarah was drawn to the Nexus.
Sarah moved with caution down the broken roads of this new zone. Above her flew Warlock the Pidgey, and at her side was Focus, the Braixen turned Lavender Knight. She clutched her Zygarde egg in her arms.
Warlock darted among the rooftop gardens, chomping on fresh growth from the overgrown tangles that had reclaimed this city. Sarah whistled for his attention and he finished his snack before darting down to land on her arm.
"Anything out North?"
"No people," said the hard-eyed bird. "But I spotted a Pidgeotto keeping watch over a parking garage."
"There shouldn't be any Pokemon here," Sarah said, sending Pidgey back to the sky and quickening her pace along the shattered road. "There must be someone inside."
Minutes later and she was at the front of the parking structure. What Warlock hadn't mentioned was the massive tree rising from the center, punching through layer after layer of concrete as a clear metaphor for the region as a whole. Perhaps trees just didn't register as anything special to the bird.
A Duraludon blocked the main entrance, clearly another trainer's Pokemon. "Hello!" Sarah called from a reasonable distance. She took a step or two forward, egg still held in her arms. "I'm Sarah. Are there trainers inside?"

Alicia’s plans were quickly derailed. First by Rose’s exuberant cry and request for her to go on a scavenger hunt. And Mom’s cookies were delicious… Cracking a small smile, she took the list and nodded. “I’ll see what I can get. Don’t worry, I’ll be back.”A couple of these were pretty abstract. But she was going to do her best to- ”Heads up! We’ve got someone scouting around!” Sylvene called out, diving to inform them shortly after her younger kin did the same. ”A Pidgey was flying around just a bit ago!””A Pidgey?” Alicia asked in surprise. ”But there’s only Ultra Beasts here so…””Another trainer.” Sylvene finished Alicia’s thought. Pretty much the only time they’d seen normal Pokemon here, a human was not far behind. Sarah, however, had already arrived before they could make their way to Giyun’s position and made her call to the Duraludon. ”Maybe!” Giyun called back, folding his arms. ”Or maybe I’m just stakin’ out new territory. What’s it to you?” Then the monolith dragon cracked a small smile unseen. He was as much aware of how this region was as Alicia herself. So he’d come up with a similar thought process. And since Sarah Lee hadn’t opened aggressively, he was of a mind to relax a bit. ”Stand down, Giyun.” Alicia ordered softly as she arrived, walking out and around her team anchor. ”Dun worry Boss, just crackin’ a joke.” Giyun assured. Venex then made himself known with a chitter as he flew out from around the tree, coming to a halt just behind Alicia. He growled softly towards the newcomer, until Alicia uttered a three tone whistle. Obeying the wordless signal, the Naganadel immediately ceased his minor hostility. ”Well, I have to say I wasn’t expecting to see another trainer around these parts.” Alicia commented, waving her hand to Sarah. And wondering if there was either a graphical glitch or a… curious choice of player model design. ——————————————————————— Rose Garden Sarah Lee
