By the time the battle had finished, Moab wasn't looking so good. Parts of their limbs and wings appeared to be made from wood, and large organic spikes burst from every free space it had. Considering it was already burning up, the addition of plant-like elements only hastened their own final end.
"Moab!" Rose cried out, tears pouring down her cheeks as Gerana struggled to keep the child back. "Let me! Go! I need to see them! They're my friend!"
"Hon, they're in danger... We can't help them." Genera spoke, a soft, somber tone to her voice.
And then the klaxons began to blare, the ground shook, and there was no longer any time to waste.
Moab was breathing heavily, their extremely mutated body stumbling upright, core burning brightly deep inside. Every movement was painful. "No... There is nothing that can be done for me. You can not help me. But maybe, I can still help you."
Wattson looked like he was going to speak, but was interrupted by Rose yelling and finally breaking free of Gerana's grasp and moving over to the fusions side. "Come with me! Please! The smart professor lady can fix you! Please, oh please!" Outright puppy-dog eyes, the child simply begging and crying as the world began to shake.
And Moab, for all their pride and hubris, could not say no.
"Alright... For you, my dear Rose. I'll go as far as I can."
There was no longer any talking, as Rose and her Pokemon immediately began to run out of the room, joining everyone else who had already begun to dash out like their lives depended on it.
That's because they probably did.
As the first one out of the room, Rose didn't have time to be stopped by the others and suddenly stepped on a specific panel that sent her flying forwards with incredible speed. At first, it seemed like a good thing, but the tables in her way made it quite clear that this was a trap in its own making.
She slammed right into the metal tables, tumbling onto the ground. The girl scrambled to try and get back onto her feet, as the tables slammed down into her back, burying the little girl beneath the heavy metal frames. She was stuck.
"H-help!" Rose cried out, wiggling and trying to squeeze her way out, but she was clearly stuck hard.
As soon as the other Pokemon had made it into the hallway that she had been sped down, it was too late. The metal skull had appeared from above, some shady science mechanics at work, and slammed into the hallway, rolling down it like a boulder from Indiana Jones. Cutting Rose off from all her Pokemon, ready to squish her into bits.
"My baby! Rose!" Gerena shouted in fear, immediately running forwards to try and grab hold of the skull with her beak and legs, but it was too late. She wasn't strong enough to stop its momentum on the slightly angled down hallway, and it was moving no matter what.
Rose could only stare, paralyzed as the skull came barreling down towards her. The little girl screamed, shutting her eyes, expecting to white out completely.
Only, it never came.
Her eyes opened, tears spilling everywhere to see that every single metallic object in the hallway had been lifted, floating in the air. The skull tumbled harmlessly overhead and continued down the hallway as the tables were floated up enough that she could crawl out.
Moab's wings were spread, feet placed hard onto the floor as electricity crackled all around them like a lightning storm. A powerful Magnet Rise lifted everything metallic, keeping her safe. Her other two Pokemon immediately barreled over to her side, and Gerana pulled Wattson and Rose into her pouch.
"Come on, let's go!" Rose shouted, screaming desperately at Moab.
And in the end, all she got back was a small shake of their head. "I can't. I'm sorry. I can't move, it hurts." True enough, their wooden limbs looked numb, as if they could barely move them.
Not to mention, the burning, raging power leaking out from within. It began to seep out from every orifice, flames and electricity crackling together in some horrific nightmare. The truth was, he was never going to survive to leave this place.
If only he had a chance to have seen the sky. To fly amongst the skies at least once, and see all the world with Rose. That future was never designed for him, he knew. But the reality of it all still hurt.
"Go!" Moab shouted at Gerena who had stalled briefly to glance back at the fusion. "Get her out of here! I'm going to blow, I can feel it! Don't you dare look back!"
"No! Moab!" Rose screamed out desperately, arms outstretched from the bird's pouch, trying to reach her fused Pokemon, her friend. Gerana didn't waste any time, however, immediately beginning to carry them out of there.
"Goodbye, Rose... I'm sorry."
"MOAB!"
The young child just continued to scream, begging and devolving into tears as Gerana carried them as fast as their legs and wings could. Leaping around traps, jumping over obstacles to avoid worse ones. Determined to see her charge safe, Gerena wasted absolutely no time. Leaping onto another table to avoid a hole in the floor, the table immediately began to tip over and fall, but luckily the bird's wings were already outstretched and caught them, pushing forwards. The exit was finally in sight, and the bird pushed with all of their energy, flying and tucking their wings to soar straight out the doorway.
Back at the end of the hallway, Moab's own tears were quickly consumed by flame, body burning up from the inside out. Rose's screams broke their heart, and they could bear it no more. Their deadened limbs waddled back over toward the fusion chambers with a burning glare in their eyes.
How dare this place create a monster such as him? How dare this place cause such hurt to the only being he cared for? And what for? In the name of science? Moab would have no more. They would not stand for it any longer. They could not allow such horrendous hurt into the world, for anyone else.
"My dearest Rose... may you always be as sweet as you were to me. For you hardly knew me, I hardly knew myself, and- gah!" The pain was too much to keep monologuing to themselves, holding back this much energy was quite literally killing them. Their heart held only two desires at this moment. To see Rose safe, and to see this place burn. As soon as he could no longer hear the desperate pleas of the young child, Moab let loose. Every ounce of energy he had been holding back was finally let loose.
Their wings exploded flames and force outwards from them in a massive ball of energy, pushing everything away from them, but it wasn't enough, they still burned inside. And this time on the outside as well, their plant-like body parts caught flame almost right away.
A pained scream of their own was forced out. Every single cell of their body ached with pain, a burning like no other. And hopefully, something nobody else would ever have to live through again. Even as flames poured out of their beak, they forced out a few final words.
"H-heh... I guess I was the strongest after all."
An Explosion rocked the laboratory with everything they held back. Flames, electricity, and smoke filled the air as rubble collapsed all around them. There was no hope to survive its aftermath. After a while, everything stopped hurting, even as the explosion continued to shake apart their body, destroying them bit by bit just as it destroyed the lab around them.
And yet, wild, crazy laughter poured out of their beak until their final moments would pass. None shall suffer the way they did, their fusion comrades did, never again.
Outside on the island, Rose was in tears, even as she heard the explosion from deep within. She had given up fighting back to try and run in to grab Moab again. Splayed out across the sands, her arms were wrapped around Wattson as she held him close in a hug, as Gerana wrapped their wings around the two of them.
"... They're not hurting anymore," Wattson began, attempting to comfort the crying child. Not that he was ever good at that, really. "They're at peace now."
Rose sniffled, squeezing Wattson closer. "T-they promised... We'd conker..."
"Then we'll have to conquer the world, in their memory. Think you're up to the challenge, dear?"
Rose was quiet for a minute, eventually nodding their head as she wiped away some of her tears. "...Yeah. I think they would like that."

Just like before, it was Wattson who took heavy notice of the words of the robotic voice and seemed to think deeply on them.
LEVY 3: ENERGY CORE DETECTED. THREAT LEVEL UPGRADED ACCORDINGLY."
"... It's tried this before, hasn't it?" Wattson mumbled to himself, the confident Voltorb's face twisting into a frown, even within the pouch of the Bombirdier. "And it's failed every time, hasn't it? Fractured consciousness, elemental affinities conflicting with another, nucleotide collapse... their DNA is unstable."
"What does... What did any of what you said mean?" Rose frowned, looking over at Wattson as they were lowered back to the ground by Gerana.
"It means, their DNA, wait, no, let me make it simpler. It means... They have too much power, and it's hurting."
"Oh." Rose pondered on the thought, trying to rationalize it with what she knew when Moab had finally flown back up above the pit and landed with a heavy thud on the floor nearby. Their body was noticeably rockier, the hole within their chest more prominent and obvious, but a glowing, burning light from within spilled out. It crackled with electricity, a deep, burning, boundless energy.
"Hah-" They began, feet stumbling for a second to catch their breath as the robots started to lift the skull from the ground. "My chest feels like it is on fire. I imagine it is quite a literal feeling. This is a new sensation, and not exactly a pleasant one." Their eyes would look around, glancing at all the other fusions, the excess of DNA slowly becoming more and more troublesome for the other fusions, and recognition seemed to dawn within them.
"... I shall not be leaving here, will I? I will not get to soar across the skies and seek my glory. My power will be the end of me. I will burn from the inside out. Nothing can kill me, except me." A somber look spread across their face. All this power, all this insane strength, and it would be what brought them low. Already, the power burned within, and the fire extinguishers seemed justified.
And that was precisely when the funky jams ruined all tension.
Moab couldn't help but laugh, even as Rose's other two Pokemon frowned at the understanding. The funky groove and the dancing puzzle did nothing to lift their spirits.
"Moab!" Rose suddenly cried out, running over to the fusion's side, and desperately wrapping their arms around one of their thick, mutant legs. "But you gotta come! We gots many places to go! I gots to show you to the lady who pretends to be my mom, and the teacher lady! I gotta shows her you can talk! And... and-"
"Shh..." Moab replied, gently patting the head of the young girl with a soft, sad smile. "I must dance, child. For if this is truly to be my first, and only hurrah at life, I shall rather, shall we say... be a fire burning on the dancefloor. Go, be with my progenitors. I shall keep you safe..."
"But, but- I'll miss you." Rose began, immediate tears forming in the corners of her eyes as Gerana simply picked Rose up by the back of her shirt, and Moab immediately twisted about and prepared to dance.
"I'll miss you too, child."
Their stubby legs were not graceful any longer, the Turtonator and the Roggenrolla DNA did nothing kind to their walking ability, causing them to stumble. Their wings were practically their only saving grace, keeping them upright and able to balance.
Alas, their very first step slammed onto the word DEOXYRIBONUCLEIC, causing the panel to immediately fall. Luckily, they were able to fly back up, wings catching themselves.
"I- Will not falter. I will not fail them." Moab whispered to himself, as he forced himself to move, wings carrying him in the air with a heavy, precise flap, carrying more weight than those wings were ever truly designed for. They were meant to help lift rocks into the air, but not quite like this.
He slammed onto the word IGNITE with a heavy force, only to whip their wings again and launch into the air once more.
The core inside their chest burned brighter and brighter, burning off more and more energy, not having a chance to calm down the power burning within. It hurt, so much energy was not meant to be contained in a vessel so mundane, so mortal. Flames tickled across their chest, leaking from the hole within.
Their foot touched down upon THEFT and a twisting movement had their beak slam into the word FORESAW.
Their life had been stolen from them before they had a chance to truly enjoy it, to truly understand the joys that life brought with it. They had already witnessed their future, and there was none.
Wings flapped again, twisting them into the air to not stumble with their stumpy legs, and find the right word to press down on. Deciding relying on their legs was no longer optimal, they ripped some heavy lab equipment off the ground and dropped it down right upon the word DECOMPOSE, oddly reminiscent of their avian DNA's methods.
Their body was going to burn itself apart with such unrivaled power, it was almost akin to radiation. Mysterious and full of limitless power, but his half-life wasn't even close to being stable. The world would never know his glory.
And yet, there was at least one who would remember. They were content to live on in memory. They were never supposed to exist anyways, that much was obvious.
Their body burned, and they had to let loose some of the energy somehow, as they were almost quite literally glowing. Flames and electricity crackled within their mouth as they screamed, suddenly tucking their limbs and wings together, forming a misshapen orb at this point as they Body Slam straight into perhaps, the only word that mattered, with enough force that the ground itself likely shook.
ROSE.

Rose wasn't really intelligent enough to understand all the things that the voice from above was saying, but her Voltorb certainly was, and it seemed he caught on pretty quickly.
"After each success, they are given another DNA strand to fuse with, remarkable... I'd very much like to meet the owner of this lab. His studies must be most thoroughly engaging."
The fusion's feathers grew and elongated, spikes and scales forming along their body. Twisting and turning into a large, powerful form. Their beak twisted, almost resembling the barrel of a rifle, and a shell-like protrusion along the back of their neck formed like armor to protect themselves. But the weirdest part was what happened to their limbs.
Their legs plumped up, growing stronger, more muscular, powerful, and oddly enough arms burst out from their torso. They didn't seem to be super dextrous, but enough to manipulate things easier. Their chest, right above the bird-like pouch, seemed to fold inwards, a pitch-black abyss.
"Hahaha!" The Fusion began, stretching out its new scaled wings. "Oh, I've never felt such power! Technically, I've not felt many things, but if this is to be a first feeling, then I shall revel in it!"
Rose was still in awe, scrambling up from beneath her Bombirdier to give him a sudden hug. "Ooh! You're so cool! We're going to be the best of friends after we beat these tests! I hate tests though, I hope none of them involve math..."
The fusion laughed, wrapping their arms and wings around the child. "Even if they involve math, we shall conquer it! We shall travel across this world, and conquer all threats in our way! With your cute face at my side, the motivation to dominate this world will surely never fail me!"
Rose giggled, turning her head around to look at her other Pokemon. "You hear that Gerana? I don't have to do math no more! They'll do it for me! We're going to con-ker it! ... What does conker mean?"
The stork Pokemon sighed, shaking their head. Way too focused on the sudden intrusion of robotic kung-fu robots charging their way to care about Rose's dislike of Math. With a Wing Attack knocking them off their feet, they soared upwards into the air and out of immediate harm.
Only for the robots to charge toward the fusion as soon as they got back up with a dramatic, and admittedly cool flip.
They immediately laughed, twisting around to protect Rose from them as they spread their wings behind them. Their wings folded out further and further until they looked almost like a perfect circle, a shield behind them. A trio of robots slam their mechanical limbs into the wing-shell, only for the wings to glow with a bright light, as an explosion rocked the base, their Shell Trap card activated.
Fire and flames erupted, blasting the robots apart as smoke and exhaust poured out from the void in their chest. Paired with the wild laughter of the fusion, Rose was giggling like crazy herself. Being so close to the explosion had shot her hair backward, and soot covered her face. But she was not only unharmed but clearly never been happier.
"You! Are! The! Coolest!" She shouted in amazement, dancing where she stood out of total uncontrollable excitement. A proper little jig and a spin, the dance of a child with absolutely no worries or fears in the world.
"Hoo, boy!" Wattson shouted out, rolling out from under the table. "You are the Mother Of All Bombs, aren't ya! Go on, take care of tasty fish below, me and Gerana will watch the kid!"
"Hmm," The fusion hummed, obviously deep in thought as it began to move. "Gerana, is my winged progenitor, yes? I have just realized I lack a name. Then I shall take inspiration from your words. For I am Moab, the Mother Of All Bombs. I quite like this."
With another mad cackle from the fusion immediately after their oddly calm thoughtful moment, they twisted around, and just jumped straight into the pit.
"Hah, a brave one!" Wattson began, glancing up at Gerana. "They must have gotten that trait from me! My courage is definitely a defining character trai-"
"Tough words from the man who hid under the table." The Bombirdier quickly cut them off, lifting Rose and Wattson up into their pouch, flying them up and out of the reach of the swinging and wild limbs of the robotic assaulters.
In the pit, Moab had practically dive-bombed straight down, spreading their wings at the last second and catching themselves in the air, circling over the pit. Opening their beak, electricity crackled within their throat, before blasting out in a Charge Beam. The continuous beam of energy roasts some of the fish in the water below.
The smell of cooked fish wafted up from the pit. Delicious. They couldn't help but take a bite of the spare flesh that had been discarded by the Veluza, enjoying their first, actual meal.

Rose admittedly didn't quite know what to do, except be in total awe. "Wow!" The little girl exclaimed, wiggling where she stood in excitement. "You're real! Really Real! So cool! You're in a secret lab!"
The fused Pokemon's eyes slowly scanned around, only listening to the sudden voice that spoke from some unseen speakers. "Ahh, I see. I am an experiment, a genetic fusion of the two before me. Of that, remains clear. But to what purpose is my existence?"
"Honestly? I don't know!" Wattson suddenly interjected with a cackle of his own. "Science demands experimentation! And-" He himself was interrupted as the voice began talking about a stress test. "Ooooh, it looks like the owner of this lab had the same idea. Duck!"
Rose ducked on instinct, and her Bombirdier immediately wrapped its wings around the little girl protecting her as the laser grid suddenly activated.
Wattson, unfortunately, could not duck, squeeze, or go prone, as he was quite simply, an orb. But he did roll beneath a table, abusing the fact that the lab equipment seemed impervious to the beams and protect himself.
The fusion, however, seemed confused for a brief moment. "I am no duck, I am a-"
Their words were ever so rudely interrupted by a laser, and a pained avian screech poured from their beak. Instantly shifting into attack mode, the fusion's eyes suddenly began to glimmer with this shining yellow coat, that quickly spread across their body like a Mirror Coat.
The lasers immediately began to reflect off their body like a shimmering mirror, leaving them mostly unharmed asides from an obvious burn on their beautiful red and white feathers. "Ahh, I see." The fusion began to speak once more, their beak twisting into a wide smirk. "I am born to be powerful! Created to become the best I can be, to become untouchable! A trial to prove my right to exist, so be it!"
"How about, born to be a friend?" Said Rose, still buried beneath a bird and barely able to see what was going on.
"... Yes, that will work too. Friendship sounds like a lovely concept. I think I can stand to study the idea later. Friendship would be a prime motivator to encourage myself to act at full strength." The fusion said with a cocky, confident laugh, backed up by the Voltorb's almost mad laughter.
Stretching out their wings, one visibly injured and not raised as high, the laser reflected off their shimmering coat of energy and was returned to sender, shredding the technology and reducing it to melted metal and scrap. It seemed the other fusions had taken care of quite a few lasers themselves, and were left to find another hidden vial of DNA within the rubble.
"My my," The fusion spoke, stretching its legs to walk properly for the first time as he moved over to grab the vial with one of its feet. "I do believe, I have yet to finish growing."
"Oooooh!" Rose was simply starstruck, her eyes would have literal stars in them if they could as she stared up at her beautiful, majestic orb bird friend. "Yes! Yes yes, all the yes! So cool! Let's make you grow even bigger!"
"Oh dear," Her Bombirdier would mumble to themselves, visibly worrying over what to do about their... child? The realization dawned on her, and she didn't really know how to process it.
"Well then," the fusion began, grinning down at the excitable trainer. "Shall we?" And it promptly ate the vial, right then and there.

Rose had to admit, she had no idea what was going on, but it was oh so interesting.
An evil villain's lair! Just like the cartoons she watched on Saturday morning! Big laser guns on the walls that could fry something to bits! Deactivated laser grid walls that could slice like a cheese grater! Trapdoors and ejector pads and giant robots! She felt absolutely giddy, giggling to herself as she felt like some kind of secret agent or superhero just waddling into the base without being stopped!
Of course, every time she tried to wander too close to something potentially dangerous, her Bombirdier grabbed the back of her shirt with her beak and gently dragged her back.
"Now now," The bird pokemon would begin. "We should not grow overconfident. This place is teeming with dangers. You need to stay safe, dearie."
"Aww, come one!" Rose would begin, eyes drifting over towards the other trainers. "Nobody else has a babysitter bird!"
"That's because you're the lucky one, dearie." The Bombirdier would speak again, before gently pulling Rose into their pouch and lifting her up. "But also, because nobody else has a bird, silly. That man has a cat and a pig." She'd speak, of course, referring to orioncayge .
"It is only logical to be careful in unknown situations." The Voltorb suddenly spoke as it rolled down the hallway along with them. "Whoever built this place must be a genius of some level. Perhaps not as intelligent as me, but certainly up there." They'd hum to themselves, twirling about. "Those robots look quite advanced... for an amateur. If I had arms, I would have constructed my own secret lair ages ago."
Rose huffed softly, crossing her arms as she was carried like a baby into the main chamber.
She tried to fight out of the stork's grasp at first to look around, but then simply watched in awe as two of the other trainers seemingly... created a third pokemon on accident
"Oooh! How did you guys do that!" Rose spoke out loud, poking her head out from the stork's pouch.
"Hmm, how peculiar." The Voltorb spoke, their excited eyes quickly scanning over the new fusion pokemon. "Whoever constructed this base must have been some kind of freak geneticist, to experiment with the DNA of Pokemon. Creating life! Oh, what I would do if I had arms-"
"What's DNA?" Rose spoke, gently slipping from the Bombirdier's grasp, but still remaining close by.
"It's uh," The Voltorb would hum, rolling back and forth as it thought how to break things down for the young girl. "The building blocks of life. Think of it like, a tiny secret message in your body, that shows how you look."
"Ooh." Rose was in total awe, staring at the fusions, and then back at her two pokemon. She didn't understand a word that the Voltorb said, but it sounded cool. Her eyes were extremely wide, silently begging.
"No, no absolutely not. We should not-" The Bombirdier began before the Voltorb rudely interrupted them.
"Of course we should! Think about what we have to learn! Think about our powers combined, what a force to be reckoned with! Besides, with your motherly nature and kind soul, and my intellect and raw destructive power, we could create the ultimate protector. How about that?" Of course, he just wanted to see what would happen, but he was a manipulative little ball.
The bird paused, seemingly tempted by the Voltorb's offer. "... I suppose we can give it a try. But if it goes wrong, I'm blaming you Wattson."
"Oh, please Gerana, I know what I'm doing. Since when have I steered you wrong before?"
"Many times." The apparently named Gerana spoke bluntly.
"Not the point!" Wattson would immediately turn around, wobbling on its round form as it faced Rose. "Grab that vial on the counter there, lass!"
Rose was absolutely ecstatic, entirely unaware of the moral complications that creating life had, blissfully unaware and simply excited for a new friend. She grabbed the vial, and held it out for the Voltorb, only for him to spit straight into the vial! "Ewwww, that's gross!"
"But efficient! Now, Gerana, if you will, a feather? Unless you'd also like to spit in the jar-"
"No no, this is already weird enough as is." The Bombirdier would pluck a feather from its coat and hand it to the child.
Rose immediately went to work, following Wattson's instructions based on the other two fusions, and set the DNA into the device. Almost immediately, it began to hum to life, a glowing yellow light shimmering, and the audible sound of electricity crackling as a form took shape.
Red and white wings crackled with electricity, connected to a fairly rotund body with a long, beautiful neck and pouch similar to the Bombirdier. And yet, it almost seemed like if it folded in on itself, closed its wings, tucked up its legs, and pulled its head close, it would be remarkably close to a sphere. However, as it stood at it's full height, it almost appeared graceful. Almost being the keyword, as the wild energy in its eyes betrayed any attempts at grace and serenity.
"Oh my..." It began. stepping out of the chamber with careful, yet precise steps. "Where... am I?"

Rose had to admit, this place was a little strange. She knew forests weren't usually like this. Trees were damaged, and giant holes in the ground kept her from just running around everywhere.
"What happened here? Did some big meanie come eat the trees?" Rose mumbled audibly to herself as she walked, slowly balancing on a root before hopping off the other side.
"Something like that," said the as-of-yet-unnamed Sprigatito. "Or, so I have heard. A pretty nasty fella. You just watch your step, look where you're going." The cat Pokemon suddenly walked along their side, as if their tiny body would somehow prevent them from falling into the hole they placed themselves in between.
"I thought you were taking a nap, silly?" Rose responded, a gentle grin on her face.
"Well, as wonderful as the sun is in these woods, I can't just let you wander off on your own. The professor certainly wouldn't be happy with me." The cat sighed, seemingly more mature than their lazy nature betrayed. "Besides, if we run into trouble, I have to be there to help fight."
"I can just run away!" Rose spoke in response, remembering the mechanic from the handheld games.
"Can you run faster than a Pokemon?"
"... Yeah, watch!" And they zoomed off instantly, running as fast as their little legs could carry them.
"H-hey! Wait!" The Sprigatito bounded off behind them, this was their own fault.

Rose was, for lack of a better vocabulary on her part, very confused.
She'd been staring at the pop-up that told her to say goodbye to Mom for a few minutes now and she had no idea what to do. She had played Pokemon before and always had a Mom in those too. A friend told her at school that you could talk to mom and get healed up! But here?
Here, she was clearly hesitant to approach the house, even though her bare feet dearly needed some shoes.
"You're staring into space again." Sprigatito licked at its paw as it noticed, trying to snap them back to reality. "You really are a spaced-out kid, huh?"
Rose quickly shook her head, glancing over at Mother's house in the distance before looking down at her new talking cat friend.
"I did not go to space! I'd need a rocket ship! Silly." She laughed quietly, shaking her head slowly once again. "I just-"
"You're nervous about seeing mom," The cat licked its other paw this time, quickly walking towards the house anyways. "She won't be upset that you're leaving home, you know."
"W-wait! I'm not nervous! I'm a big girl!" Rose shouted out, quickly trying to catch up to her cat who had already made it onto the front porch.
"Then knock, big girl. Or don't, it is your home. Just go on in."
"I- I'll knock." It felt so strange, this wasn't her home, but it was? She didn't know how to process that. She did indeed knock on the door, hearing movement around inside. Was someone else home?

Rose stared at the insane crowd before her and felt almost certainly out of place. She had never gone shopping for herself before, not like this. She had made her way down to the convenience store on the corner to get a little snack or two with the spare change she found on the side of the road, but she's never encountered something like this before.
Adults were weird.
"Uh, excuse me, I-" She tried to make her way into the crowd like another child did just moments ago, only to not really have much room to go with. She just wasn't able to push through fast enough. What if she got in trouble?
Standing all the way in the back, she sighed softly and thought to herself. There was no way she was getting in there, but she knew someone who could. She was quick to summon her starter Pokemon, only for it to slowly circle around her legs and shake its head.
"... The answer is no. You want me to-"
"Please! Oh, please oh please!" Rose stared down at her cat friend, with extremely wide eyes. "I really want a new friend! And an egg can hatch into whatever!"
The Sprigatito took one look at their face and sighed to themselves, standing up and stretching from their spot. "I'll look, but don't expect a miracle." And with that, the cat Pokemon dived into the crowd, slipping and winding between the feet of the crowd with the grace of a feline.
