Vernon thought it clever that this one particular stand was leaning pretty hard on the honey lemonade thing with Combees and Vespiquens. Mostly Combees. There was even this cute Combee plushie with some lemons (whether they were real or fake, he couldn't tell). Did he want lemonade? Or did he want boba instead?
❝Still deciding?❞ there was a voice over his shoulder, familiar in a sea of noises. When Vernon glanced behind him, he saw a taller teen with his hoodie over his head, to obscure his face from potential onlookers, even if that made him potentially suspicious-looking. It didn't help that his eyes looked like they could bore into you if he wanted to, but his flat expression was just how he normally looked. Others might call it a resting bitch face.
❝I'm going to bring whatever I get here to the Artists' Corner, so...❞ he trailed off for a brief moment, ❝Wait, what are you doing here, Trev? I thought you'd want to stay in the hotel room.❞
❝Aster was getting a little too noisy for me.❞
❝And this place is better?❞ Vernon said with a laugh.
❝It's background noise.❞ he fished out a few bills from his pocket. ❝I can pay for the lemonade if you want. I'll get one as well, then look around a little more.❞
His initial reaction was to say that he didn't have to, but Trev had already gone out of his way to find him (how did he find him? Was he that obvious to spot? Or was his Find My iPhone on? Oh yeah okay maybe that was it). ❝Sure, thanks. You don't want to come with me to the Artists' Corner?❞
❝I'm good.❞
And he decided to leave it at that. Once they got their lemonade, Vernon was at least able to convince his bandmate to walk with him to get the FREEZER STAMP before they parted ways. He wondered how Trevor thought about this whole convention, as someone who didn't have a lick of interest in Pokemon. He should ask about it later once they got settled back in the hotel room, for his friend was at least a respectful listener, if not seemingly apathetic.
