Ever since Comet stepped into UNOVR, he wanted to train up his Pokemon so that he could be strong. Such a task proved much easier said than done, for the systems here were quite different from the traditional games, requiring him to put plenty of work in not only training them, but getting the currency in order to unlock tiers to make them stronger. He could delude himself to think that the training he asked them to do was helpful, either - it wasn't much, and it was more of repetitive. It wasn't like they had much chances to practice actually battling something on slightly equal footing. Zapdos obviously did not count as suitable practice.
Thus, when he heard about the Arena battles tucked away in one of the possible fast travel options, he decided to check it out, for it was likely the thing he needed to make himself and his Pokemon feel more confident about the trials ahead. As it so happened, the easiest option was a type that he could basically pummel with all of his Pokemon, but that didn't mean that this was going to be a walk in the park. The description was already suggesting he find someone else to partner up with, but...no. He had a full team of fire Pokemon. Sure, their HPs were barely above the minimum, but enough firepower could trump the need for tanking it out, right? Yeah! (He basically had this confidence that things could likely fall in his favor, even if he could be better prepared for this).
So he locked in his six Pokemon and waited for him to be transported to the isolated battle space.
Round 1
❝Kimchi, Yuzu, Ganjang!❞ he threw their Poke Balls up in the air, releasing them onto the large ice floe, lazily moving across the half-frozen river. It was going to be terrible if any of his Pokemon fell into the water, and they had to avoid that as much as possible. He had a cloak that he had purchased from the cosmetics shop for the desert, but it would have to do to keep him warm in the chilly landscape. In front of them was a very, very large Glaceon, easily towering over all of them. It glared at them coldly, regal and imposing. Comet wondered if this was how Intimidate worked in the game, even if he knew that the Pokemon had no such ability.
He let out a nervous laugh, ❝Here it comes!❞
<Here comes what?!> the Cydanquil shouted in worry, before the Cinderace used the ice to quickly skid over to both Ganjang and Yuzu, picking them up as Glaceon showered them with a flurry of Ice Shards. The Cyndaquil screamed in terror while the Stufful seemed to be enjoying herself, raising her plush arms up with a big grin on her face. <Weeee!>

❝Kimchi!❞
<I'm fine! Now it's our turn!> he placed his two companions down as he stared down the Glaceon. The colossal Pokemon seemed to have noticed that the Cinderace was its biggest threat, so it began to shoot more Ice Shards at him. He used the ice to skid and dodge, jumping onto an adjacent, smaller ice floe before using the momentum to leap into the air and summon a ball of fire at his feet. The next moment, he kicked it hard, slamming right onto their opponent's back. After that, he cloaked himself in flame and propelled himself using Flame Charge, making the Glaceon stumble on their paws.

❝Ganjang, heal Kimchi!❞
<Huh?! How do I--?!>
❝You can do it, Ganjang! I'm sure you can use your Ember as a healing fire or something!❞
Feeling like he was definitely out of his league, the Cyndaquil tightly closed its eyes (more than a usual Cyndaquil, anyway) and let flames erupt from his back. He then used Ember as instructed, letting it float and meld with the Fiery Spirit that was trailing Kimchi.
Ganjang the Cyndaquil uses Ember (Heal)! 2d12+20 Rarity (10) + Fire Pokemon (5) + Fire Type Move (5)
❝Yuzu--❞
But Comet didn't even have to command the little Stufful, who was already charging straight at the Glaceon with a fire type Tackle attack. Out of the three of them, the plush Pokemon looked like she was enjoying herself the most, laughing maniacally as she found her target and head butted into the colossal Pokemon with all of her might.

Round 2
<It...it actually worked? It actually worked!!>
Comet had given a thumbs up and a cheer, while Kimchi and Yuzu continued to stay within close range of the giant Glaceon, careful not to get caught by under its paws or near its mouth, which is where the majority of its attacks came from. Letting out a low growl, the ice Pokemon suddenly disappeared from view with a repositioning Quick Attack, appearing on the other side of the ice floe, near the edge, before sending out a flurry of stars at everyone (Swift).
Glaceon attacks Cinderace, Stufful (Evil), and Cyndaquil with Swift! pt60cF||2d30
The player never really figured out how stars were supposed to hurt when he was watching the anime, but as it turned out, the stars were basically physically manifested pointy things that did pack a punch, like being hit by a boomerang or something (not that he would know how that would feel like, but it just looked like it would bruise). Thankfully, the game was mindful about players not getting caught in the attack range even if he wasn't very far from where his Pokemon was. He figured that it was definitely going to be a different story if he got into the fray himself (and he knew that was an option after watching people jump on Zapdos with weapons and stuff, which was very cool, that was also something he wanted to do. He didn't want to just sit on the sidelines like a loser!)
Anyway, that would be a future thing. For now, it was checking on his Pokemon to see how they were doing after the second wave of long-range attacks, and so far the strategy was more or less the same: close the gap and hit it where it hurts. According to the UI and Glaceon's HP, so long as Kimchi continued to do his fast attacks, the fight shouldn't take more than 5 rounds. That was, so long as he was able to keep himself alive, which was why Ganjang was so important, but he didn't realize that each heal would drain his HP as well (was there no MP system? C'mon, UNOVR!) The Cyndaquil was definitely not going to make it to Round 5, but he hoped that the heals would be enough to delay Kimchi going down.
Note to self: increase everyone's HP after finishing up unlocking the Kindler class.
❝Ganjang, can you do another heal?❞
<Y-yes! But...I don't know if I can do another one after this!>
❝That's fine! You've been awesome so far, you def deserve some curry after this!❞
The Cyndaquil didn't actually have a food preference, but being rewarded did sound nice (the little one had no battle experience, or at least couldn't remember it, much like how he couldn't remember his original trainer before that silver-haired person picked him up). Flaring up his back to combat the cold and prepare for an attack, he sent out a burst of floating flames to Kimchi, who had moved in to close the distance and slam onto the Glaceon with another Flame Charge. Because of the opponent's size and the lack of places to properly move in this ice floe, it was hard for it to dodge, taking the brunt of the attack. To continue the assault, the Cinderace jumped onto a smaller ice floe and shot another Pyro Ball onto its side.

The Glaceon let out a pained cry, about to face the Cinderace with gritted teeth, but he was not alone - Yuzu was using the slippery ice to build momentum without her moving as much for an all-out Tackle. Because of the Estival Eye, her Tackles were actually cloaked in flame, and all the while the Stufful (Evil) was laughing and laughing, even if she had been whacked by one of the Swift stars a few moments before.
Yuzu the Stufful (Evil) uses Tackle! 1d50+45 Rarity (10) + Prompt (5) + Fire Pokemon (5) + Never Normal (5) + Supereffective (20)
❝You're doing great, guys! We can do this!❞ oh man, seeing his Pokemon give it his all made him really proud and happy that they were willing to follow him, and at the same time terrible that he couldn't do more other than call out commands. How can the people in the anime just sit by for these battles? Well, he knew that they were dangerous and he was probably more reckless because his life wasn't actually in danger, but he still wanted to help in some other way! Like how those other players were fighting alongside their Pokemon rather than just staying behind them!

Round 3
It was clear that the Glaceon was getting weakened from the onslaught of fire type attacks, but the same could be said for his own Pokemon. Ganjang definitely looked a lot more worn out after that last heal, and doing another was going to get him knocked out. Kimchi had some scratches on him from the Swift and Ice Shard, but he was doing better because of the Cyndaquil's constant healing. Yuzu, on the other hand, just looked like she was enjoying getting pushed back before running in for another full-body tackle. It was probably because Comet equipped her in the Tank class that she was shrugging off damage.
Kimchi decided to change position again, using Quick Attack to jump to another, smaller but closer ice floe (basically emulating what the Glaceon did) before shooting out a rapid fire burst of Embers right on its body.
Kimchi the Cinderace uses Ember! gfo9QS8i3d20+150 Rarity and Refresh (15) + Prompt (5) + Fire Pokemon (5) + Fire Type Move (5) + Supereffective (20) Multiply by 3 for three fast attacks
With all of the fire attacks, the main ice floe that they were standing on was beginning to show cracks. Yuzu had the grand idea of punching the ice to break off a piece and carrying it with ease. Letting out a happy cry, she covered herself in a white aura, reminiscent of shounen animes, as she hurled the broken ice block at the Glaceon. Comet could swear that the white glow almost looked like fire, which made the ice block melt a bit before it actually slammed onto the opponent.
Yuzu the Stufful (Evil) uses Strength! 1d50+45 Rarity (10) + Prompt (5) + Fire Pokemon (5) + Never Normal (5) + Supereffective (20)
But the Glaceon shrugged off the attack, suddenly also covered in a powerful aura. It was charging up for an attack, and the UI frantically told Comet that he could Disrupt it if he had the ability. Well, tough shit for him, he hadn't unlocked any abilities at all! Cursing, he called out to his Pokemon to brace themselves, and he tried to run towards his Cyndaquil, for he had been weakened the most by the battle.
Glaceon attacks Cinderace, Stufful (Evil), and Cyndaquil with Blizzard! 3d50
The Pokemon cried out loudly before unleashing a powerful Blizzard that almost knocked Comet off his feet and sending him into the frozen waters. He was able to hold his ground by dropping close to the ice, but he had to push himself up to catch his Cyndaquil, who didn't have the weight to keep himself down. Immediately the player could feel his body becoming stiff and pained from the chilly temperature, and when he glanced down at his Pokemon, he was in no shape to fight.
<Ah...it's so...cold...>
❝Hang in there, Ganjang! Warm up in the Poke Ball, you did great, I swear.❞
The Cyndaquil managed to show a weak smile before Comet let the stream of light from the spherical device envelop him, transforming him back into data. Shaking his head to get some blood flowing, the visibility of the battlefield lowered from the attack, and he had to call out to see where Kimchi and Yuzu are. Eventually, he was able to get his legs to move, and he ran closer to where the Glaceon stood. The ice floe suddenly had small hills of snow, and out of one of them, the Stufful (Evil) popped out with that same goofy grin. Man, Yuzu was something else.
And then he saw his Cinderace, who was far away from him on another ice floe. He couldn't make that jump. ❝Kimchi!❞
<Ngh...how are the other two?>
❝Ganjang got knocked out. But--❞ he glanced at the Glaceon, who looked even more powerful and majestic up close, if it weren't for the fact that it was hanging by a thread, as noted in the UI. ❝Yuzu can handle it. I'll return you first.❞
Comet wouldn't have heard this, but the Cinderace clicked his tongue. He knew that he was doing most of the damage, but his pride had wanted him to be standing until the end. The lack of HP continued to drag him down, and frankly he would've been knocked out in the last round if it weren't for the Cyndaquil healing him. <I still have a long way to go.> he muttered.

Round 4
After returning Kimchi back to his Poke Ball, he ran back (and almost slipped on the ice) to Yuzu to pull her out of the mini snow pile. He felt like she could wiggle out on her own if she wanted to, but she seemed pleased to be grabbed by her plush arms and yanked out of there. ❝It's all up to you now. Land the finishing blow for us!❞
The Stufful (Evil) was all too happy to oblige. Building momentum, Comet swung his Pokemon to the wavering Glaceon. Once again, she cloaked herself in fire, and with a shine to her eyes she slammed onto her gargantuan opponent, which was enough to make the ice type lose her footing and fall onto the ice floe. The weight of her body thankfully did not completely break the ground into two, and Comet was able to catch a rebounding Yuzu who looked completely peachy keen.
Yuzu the Stufful (Evil) uses Tackle! w7AVFKXJ1d50+40 Rarity (10) + Fire Pokemon (5) + Never Normal (5) + Supereffective (20)
The blizzard settled, and the sky was clear. It dawned onto Comet that he had managed to do the battle without even bringing out his other three Pokemon. ❝Holy shit, Yuzu, we did it!!❞
<Because Yuzu is the best!> she cheered in his arms, and Comet swore that was the longest sentence he had heard her said so far.
Well, he frankly thought that Kimchi was doing much of the heavy-lifting, but he wouldn't have been able to do it if it weren't for the other two - the other classes really did help keep things balanced for a team. So caught in the spirit of celebration, he raised her up, ❝Yuzu is amazing!❞
<Yuzu is amazing!>
They laughed, confidence surging, but Comet knew all too well he wasn't going to try this again until he got that damn Disrupt skill unlocked, because the Blizzard was a pain in the ass.
