The Tutorials had been... surprisingly intense actually. They had started mild, boring even, with their annoying pace and endless dialogue to skip through, not to mention being forced to work with someone else when he would much rather be doing these sorts of things on his own. Perhaps if he had been a little more settled into the game, he'd have been more willing to accept company, but it was embarrassing to have so many different people see him stumble at basic game mechanics. They were over now at least, and he was able to strike out on his own - something he was very eager to do.
He'd actually kept away from the game for a few days once the final tutorial had ended, that one in particular having been an awful lot for him to handle. He'd grumbled to himself about never picking the damn thing up again, but as time had ticked on, the implied wound had healed and he'd found himself itching to return again. Just... alone this time, for a little bit. Just while he got his bearings again and properly settled in. Lone wolf suited him after all - if anyone saw him wandering in the distance that would only increase his reputation rather than diminish it, with the added bonus that nobody would realise that he didn't have a clue what he was doing.
On logging back in, he had headed out to Area 1 for the first time, moving straight out towards the third route as it had seemed like the coolest of the ones that he could see. He didn't have entirely set plans here - exploring alone would be fine, getting used to just being in the game and all that - but if he should happen to come across a wild Pokemon that he could add to his team or even just practice battling against, then all the better, right? It was all good experience in the end.
ENTERING THE TALL GRASS!
When a Wild PKMN appears, reply using the ATTACK button to weaken it! But watch out— it might fight back! If your PKMN faints, you must go to the closest SHRINE to restore your PKMN. When the Wild PKMN's HP reaches 10% or below, up to 2 players may spend 25 BYTES to catch it here. You may also simply retreat to end the encounter. Retreating succeeds automatically.
