Adarsa wasn’t really paying attention to the quest info, or what was going on. It was midnight, he’d had a day, and he wanted to do something here and get some cute stuff for his little pets.
So, this was a something-something with that doctor who’s name he didn’t remember, and she was shrilling about her cat puns, and then suddenly everything exploded in a flare of light, from what was clearly a magic circle, and Adarsa realized that maybe, possibly, he should have paid a bit more attention.
He blinked when the light cleared, finding himself in a… big pit. Dahlia was at his side, calm and oblivious, a pickaxe laid against her side. Adarsa looked at her, and then at more of the crowd.
He saw Alistair first- it was hard not to, with his hair so bright bright. He remembered Ali- a charming smooth talker who had bought Ada dinner, and then ghosted without warning. Ada bristled, huffing and looking away.
Next was Kazuki. That stupid text and that stupid zombie chase thing came rushing back, anger sparking through him. Why was he here? Didn’t he have other people to bother? In Brazil?
But- but next to him was Tuesday. Ada just looked at Mars, for a moment, standing there defiantly in gleaming armor, impervious to the dark aura of the world around them. He was talking to Himura, but... Adarsa strode over anyway, hooking easily into Mars’ side. “What- that woman. What is she… trying to do?” He asked, in a bit of a hiss, as if trying to ensure That Woman didn’t hear him.
Dahlia, excruciatingly slowly, started wiggling over to join him again.

Saint had signed up for this story for one thing and one thing only: To learn more about the Corruption.
Imagine his face after Dr. Bunya confirmed she knew nothing on how to defeat it; his disappointment immeasurable, his day ruined, and no takesies-backsies. He wasn’t even able to get in a question about her ‘Nekonyamicon’ before he’s whisked away to the dig site along with far too many players to count.
The sight of Mistra was a sobering one. His hands clutched the plush fabric of his coat, trying to find comfort as his eyes looked into the infinite abyss that lay all around. The fritzing pop-up left more of a threat than an instruction. Even the sounds—he never thought he’d be so terrified of Santa.
He’s left standing there long before people have spread out to start digging, wondering if he should just bail on this exclusive time-sensitive event, head to bed, and forget any of this happened.
A soft honk! and a press against his cheek broke him out of his mental death spiral. Saint exhaled, reaching up to pet Gumball where the Popplio clung to his shoulders. He could rely on him for this, even after Gumball had been changed, certain parts of his body and frill now seafoam-like, tainted by corruption.
Saint steeled himself and looked around. He—wasn’t going to do this alone. Couldn’t, even with Gumball.
To his surprise, he could recognize quite a few people here. He frowned, seeing the first group: Tuesday, Kazuki, and starlitlover. Now that was just asking for trouble. Tuesday and starlitlover were still—like that, he supposed, and from the look on his face, Kazuki remained a short fuse. Better steer clear from that blast radius as soon as possible. He needed someplace stable.
His eyes landed on Lacrimosa, accompanied by a player named Alistair. They appeared to know each other. He fidgeted over the thought of intruding, reluctantly moving in their direction.
Only to flinch, the end of a pickaxe nearly smacking into his shoulder before colliding with the ground.
“Ah, h-hey! Careful!” He blinked, recognizing just who was swinging it. “Wait… I know you! You’re Nero from the Wishtaker quest, right?”
Relief. A smile finally broke on his face, but only a little one, easily obscured behind his large collar. “Uh… are you… okay over here?” He remembered him being a bit nervous when they met, but the newcomer was already getting to work with an enthusiastic Electrike. Maybe the last quest had given him a boost?

Rose was absolutely not supposed to be awake. She was supposed to be in bed a long, long time ago. It was a school night! The little girl was so tired, her wings flapping ever so slowly behind her, as she struggled to listen to Bunya. She was literally dragging a blanket she had accidentally dragged from Not Mom's house, rubbing her eyes with it.
"M' tired..." She mumbled, almost falling asleep right then and there.
That was, until the idea of fossils sounded too cool to risk sleeping over! She loved learning about fossils in school! She hoped she got to see a massive t-rex! She immediately stiffened up, trying her best to wake. "I'm up, I'm up. I wanna take a dino tooth! Like, twelve of them! I'm gonna like, make them my own teeth!" She chomps down on air, giggling to herself.
As soon as the magic circle transports them, the bright light has her feeling a bit woozy. This place looked so... sad. There were no trees, no shrubs, no grass. The ground black, dark, and uneven. It didn't look like a good place to be.
One eye closed as she rubs it, she glances out across the horizon, slowly spinning as the world just, went up. Not even a single star. It was kind of unsettling.
"Umm, Miss Bunya cat-lady Ma'am? Are we in a crater? Like, from a meteor that killed them dino friends?" She seemed uneasy, constantly glancing up like another rock was going to fall from space at any moment. Rose didn't really like doing this alone, without any of her Pokemon friends for guidance. She was quick to toss out her Orthworm, wings fluttering to keep her off the gross ground for now.
"Wot'n tar are we up to, oh?" The worm spoke up, looking around. He seemed to sniff the dirt, only to make an unpleasant face. "Bleugh, this place smalls like death, and I bet the dirt tastes grosser than a can of coffee grounds found behind an outhouse."
As always, Rose had no idea what they were talking about. "Uh, we're looking for bones! Dinosaur bones! It's kind of, scary though. And I know you like digging. Can you-"
"Can I help? 'Course I can! What d'ya take me for, eh? I'm far more useful than a steering wheel on a mule. Jus' hold your nose girlie, this ground's gonna taste disgustin'. Might gag a bit." His arms popped out, slowly scanning the ground trying to find a good place to dig as Rose nodded and held her nose as ordered.
She floated about a bit, also looking around before stumbling upon Tuesday rather quickly. To be fair, she was fully armored and covered in weapons! Hard to miss. "Auntie Tuesday!" She shouted with glee, clearly muffled from holding her nose, only to immediately let out a loud sleepy yawn. "I missed you!"
Rose has a pickaxe dangling from one hand, a blanket wrapped around her neck like an awkward scarf, and her other hand plugging her nose. Her litle ladybug wings still fluttered like crazy, her feet just dragging across the ground like a lazy girl. "I'm kinda scared though." She let that hang awkwardly for a moment, before just pointing upwards to the sky. "A meteor could fall at like- yaaaawn- any moment!"

She had gotten used to UNVOR relying on American time zones for when the day would change, but it was still a bit of a surprise to wake up one early morning in London, log on, and find a so called "Midnight" gathering with everyone else here looking pretty tired or grumpy. Honestly, it felt a little empowering that she was the only one, to her knowledge at least, who had clearly gotten a full night's sleep before hopping in.
Nurse Joy was standing back, loudly crunching on an apple as she held a basket in hand. It seemed like Bunya was too busy to take her "Tunyan" sandwich, huh? A shame, she even stole it from that one café as they were setting up for the day and everything. But, what was this about fossils?
She had heard a bit about Corruption, really nasty stuff, but she had never seen it with her own eyes. Yet, it definitely intrigued her. As the magical circle with cat ears and all began to glow, she just laughed. "God damn, Bunya you're so on brand with everything you do."
As soon as they appeared within the new land, seemingly teleporting, Nurse Joy just stretched back. This place was definitely spooky. The popup and awkward jingles were clearly some like, meta horror trope playing out, right? She could dig it. Probably. There was an odd feeling in her bones that she couldn't quite put at ease though. Like they were the center of the world, and just going to sink down in and join the bones.
Shaking that fear free, Joy would casually move to plop the basket down by wherever Bunya was with a laugh, picking up a pickaxe instead. "A promise is a promise. Alas, our picnic might need to fucking wait, but eh, another time. No sense food going to waste though, it is yours now. I'll get you the juiciest bones, eh, why not."
Joy would wander off, just casually chucking out her Noibat to keep an eye around. "Hey!" It immediately replied, sniffing the air. "I smell apple on your breath! You told me I could have fruit! And you ate it!"
The trainer just rolled her eyes slowly. "You can eat fruit after we get out of here. This place gives me the creeps."
"You give me the creeps! How can you be so casual about fruit? I live for that stuff!" The Noibat frowned, its ears already twitching as it seemingly eavesdropped on every conversation trying to keep aware of the situation. "... This place also gives me the creeps. I don't like that sound. Like bells. Don't like it."
"Yeah, you're telling me. So, let's get to work. Sooner we get shit, the better."

Fossils in Mistra? There were some amazing fossil Pokémon out there, such as the Aerodactyl next to Dr. Bunya. What Josh wouldn't give to have a flying mount like that. Strap a saddle to that and he'd be zipping across the world in little time at all? Of course, what level would he have to be to get the saddle crafted and have the privilege to ride such a behemoth? With how far away he was from riding his Manectric, Saber, he couldn't imagine the grind to an even higher level. Every bit would help, especially Story Quests!
Tilting his head around others, Josh caught a glimpse of the AREA 2 MAP. "Long as I don't have to deal with that thunderbird," he thought. Zapdos was a legendary Pokémon, and could likely drop Granmarg with one lightning bolt, typing be damned.
Perhaps an even bigger concern was the Corruption. There looked to be plenty of competent players around him. Perhaps he could party up with some of them, especially if they were feeling generous and were okay with a less experienced player leeching.
After a flash of light, Josh witnessed a completely barren landscape, as if it was a beta area still being built. The only landmark appeared to be THE CURVE, and that was in his direct sight. The mini-map on his UI was fuzzy, constantly wavering to make the shapes on the map difficult to interpret. There were no icons on the mini-map, and more importantly, no compass.
Reading as much of the instructional prompt before it disappeared, the young man slid off Granmarg's back. With pickaxe in hand, he did as instructed. In the real world, he was good at rhythm games, capable of maintaining a beat to within twenty-five milliseconds. Perhaps those skills would carry over into this operation? Of course, this also came with more stress. There were far more threats in Mistra, including the environment itself.
Mistra was forbidden to enter for a reason.

A digging event...? In the Zone? Hekate had felt her heart skip a beat when she'd first read about the event. The time was no issue to her - her sleep schedule could, politely, be called "erratic". She didn't know how to dig, but games usually handled that stuff for you, right? But if it was an event, then... would other people be there?
She'd hesitated. Of course she had. But an itch at the back of her skull pressed her. And without realising, she'd accepted the invite. Before she knew it, she was stood in Dr Bunya's lab, surrounded by other players, quietly wondering to herself what the hell she'd been thinking. To anyone who glanced in her direction she would've seemed more like a statue than a person, standing as still as she could manage like a deer in headlights. Maybe if she didn't move, nobody would pay attention to her, right? Right?? Just as Hekate was considering turning and bolting out the door, the ritual started. A magic circle, a flash of light, and then darkness. As far as the eye could see, far above their heads, and then further still into the starless sky.
As her eyes adjust to their new surroundings, she can't help but feel it again - the sense of wrongness to this place. She takes a deep breath of what feels like Not-Air, the discordant bells resonate in her ears and spine, and her heart pounds in her chest. Was she scared, or excited? She couldn't tell where one feeling stopped and the other began.
"Ow!" A sharp peck to her cheek knocks her out of her staring. She turns to Lil Guy, perched on her shoulder, still in his phantom state. He gestures around, to the other players getting ready to dig, and then down to the ground. "Oh, right, yeah, uh..." Hekate gulps, feeling the heavy weight of the pickaxe in her hands. "We sh-should get started, right?"
A small pause. "Are you... gonna be okay?" She asks Lil Guy. He rolls his eyes in response, before puffing up his chest as big as he can manage. Hekate can't help but let a giggle escape, tickled by the attempted intimidation by the small chick, which is met with another few sharp jabs. "Okay, okay, I- I got this! We got this. Okay. Let's... dig."

"You sure bud?" Orion asked turning to the Incineroar at his side.
"Look," Achilles mewled, turning to Orion. "I know whether or not I come along you're stupid ass is gonna try to run this thing solo. Bee's probably gonna be here and if I can keep you and him safe AND figure out what that psychotic catgirl poser is up to with all of this corruption anyways." His tail flicked agitatedly, his ears pressed flat to his head. "Then I'll bite the bullet just like all the bullets you've ever bitten for me."
"Yeah but like..." Orion tried to counter.
"Don't give me any of that weepy bullshit." Achilles cut him off with a light chop to the chest. "I had and have any option to leave when I feel like it, not that I will, but still." The cat turned and glared at his master, eyes narrowing into slits as he got on his tippy toes to get into the fighters face. "We're in this together, the prof paired us together and now we're both like, secret agents or some shit. We have a noble duty beyond us to help protect this land from their bullshit."
Orion would peer down at the agitated cat before scratching him behind the ears. "God damnit dude," he would sigh, breaking eye contact. "Where the fuck did you learn this shit."
"From the same motherfucker who taught me how to dunk clowns into a dumpster. I only learn from the best."
...
Orion's reaction to the teleportation was perhaps the opposite of what most people would. He knew this was about to go sideways, it was legally obligated to get hairier than his uncle Joey's back. Corruption and Bunya AND a world event?
Ho lee shit.
He and Achilles posted up alongside each other, one pair of eyes scanning the sky above them for attacks from above, another pair watching the dirt below not for fossils, but freakish punks popping out of the peat trying to peck at unprotected piggies. A quick scan of the crowd revealed a menagerie of faces both foreign and familiar. He'd yet to see Blue (Laguna ), though he wasn't sure if he wanted to run into her in a place like this frankly. Tuesday was up to her usual stoic antics, though this time flanked by Rose Garden who's presence made his stomach drop. Surely Tuesday would protect her, but he would keep an eye that way regardless. Spotting Nero in the crowd, Orion would give the Newbie a thumbs up and a beaming grin to encourage him along. A call of his name alerted him to Bandannadito numero UNO, and soon Big Bee would find himself flanked by two homies on either side like secret service agents, a slap on the scapula signaling significant shenanigans sure to start.
"Sup bud, you ready for shit to hit the fan?" He would ask with a smirk. "Or is this going to be a normal field trip?"
"With Nya?" Achilles would ask raising a furry eyebrow. "No way."

This seemed like an event for more advanced players but the timing was impecable. It was simply meant to be. While Honya didn't feel at all equipped to deal with the challenge of corruption, how could she deny herself the opportunity where the worst thing that could happen would be a teleport to a nearby shrine? Well... she couldn't. And so her character Yuya took her spot among other trainers who gathered in the quest location, perhaps the last one to appear before it was closed. Most of people were engaged in some sort of conversations either with each other or with the npc while Yuya... well, despite her cute model, found herself as lost in this situation as does Honya at any kind of school event.
Perhaps... she should just focus on the npcs and the actual task? Yuya picked up one of the tools and listened in, her trusted bulbasaur by her feet. She wasn't afraid of corruption and, after all, Midori wouldn't actually suffer if she was hurt by it. It was just a game after all, and Honya played many games, played them all the time in fact... enough to understand what an npc was and that her pokemon was one as well. Having little else to contribute to Dr. Bunya's words, she waited until (as she presumed) they'd be teleported to the actual event location. And lo and behold - that's exactly what happened.

Laguna had promised to keep an eye out on Bunya for Professor Ash, who clearly cared for the crazy professor. But even this had her eyebrows raising. Just casually encouraging a whole swarm of players deep into the depths of Mistra for fossils? With absolutely no knowledge or ability to prevent the corruption?
She had a feeling even Cygnus would appreciate the information too. He'd actually proven himself once with an ability to help fend off the Corruption... Bunya was there for the Noonlight Raid, did she not even think to ask? Or better off, did she think at all? Asides from just, getting fancy fossils?
The sudden magic circle however, caught Laguna entirely by surprise. "What the cat-hell?" She mumbled to herself, in silent shock. That definitely wasn't normal. Sure, she could fling ice like it was magic, but an NPC utilizing anything like it? Nekonyamicon? It looked like she needed to keep a closer eye on Dr. Bunya.
As soon as they all arrived within Mistra, within a massive crater, Laguna immediately felt uneasy. Like her skin wanted to crawl off her body, shivering from the sensation. The pop-up on her screen didn't make things any easier either, the distorted text felt oddly familiar.
Feeling far more comfortable with a Pokemon at her side, Laguna held out her Golden Pokeball, the broken seal visible as she spoke. "Roxanne, your Auntie needs you, dearie. Would you?"
The massive Onix shimmered as it appeared, light refracting through its body as if it was made from ice itself. A tiny creature partially made of rock clambered around the Pokémon's head, the Pebblosa PokePet protectively sitting atop her head."I sense danger in this place," Roxanne spoke, her sultry voice quiet as she kept herself close to the ground. "Do not fret, my dearest Auntie. I have helped push back against the corrupted swarms before, I shall assist you once more."
"I knew I can count on you Roxanne." Laguna would pat their side, picking up a pickaxe onto her shoulder. "Keep an eye out for Bunya too... I'm worried about her Aerodactyl too."
"That, I can do. I shall do as I can." The Onix began to move, following Laguna as she walked around, trying to find some friendly faces to keep herself company in case danger truly did come their way. At this point, at any big Event, it was bound to happen.
Swiftly finding Big Bee and orioncayge with their Granbull and Incineroar friends, Laguna immediately smiled widely only to attempt to hide her sudden joy. "Well hey! You two weren't thinking about going through a major event without me, did you?" She put on a false pout, clearly teasing as she twirled on her toes to face away from them. "I suppose, I'll just have to dig all by my lonesome. Oh dear. Whatever shall I do?"
"Hello, friends." The Onix would lower its head very low, looking at the other Pokémon. It seemed she didn't recognize Laguna's sarcastic teasing, or even acknowledge it. "I do not understand what a 'bone' is, as I do not have any. We are supposed to dig them up, yes? Do you have any bones I can see?"
"I- uh," Laguna's teasing gesture suddenly faltered, unable to help but just giggle. "Roxanne, that's not how it works."
"I am trying to learn how this world works. Where do you keep your bones?"

The first thought that Cypress had when she saw the notification on her UI was 'Oh neat, a story event!'
The second thought she had was 'Why does it have to be so late?'
Having just gotten back to the apartment after a long night's shift at XMart, she was hoping to at least decompress with playing some UNOVR and get herself ready to rest. Instead, she had noticed the notification and, after a few minutes worth of staring at it and wondering whether she should see what this was all about, curiosity (and the thought of digging potentially being repetitive enough to help her relax) won out.
While in the lab, the mention of going to this new area...Mistra - sounded interesting. Though, the mention of Corruption did concern her - and combined with the Aerodactyl saying that this was a bad idea, and the way Doctor Bunya said that they not only needed a Pokemon, but also that she couldn't make heads or tails of anything relating to it resulted in a startled bristle as the cat eared magical circle formed under her feet and everything turned bright, too BRIGHT-
and then, there was darkness.
The dirt, the sky, the high and distant curve of the crater - all was but a never-ending darkness that threatened to swallow her whole.
Still, the woman held fast, squeezing her hand on her newly-acquired pickaxe and mumbled something under her breath even as the ink-like prompt popped up in front of her face (Swing the pickaxe to the beat, listen carefully for...something and use a shovel to...something and be careful - those were...those were instructions all right.) And then, there was that sound as the prompt dissipated as fast as it came. That sound. They were bells, yes - silvery in tone...but the pitch, the melody, it all was...wrong. It felt...horrible. It sent a shock of fear up her spine, prompting the Fomantis beside her to place a sickle on her leg, resulting in her immediately looking down to see what's appeared and- <"...Cypress?"> Spearmint began, voice filled with worry. There is silence between the two for a moment, until the wolf woman exhaled.
"I'm...okay. I'm ok. I'll be OK." An exhale of breath.
She can do this. She can do this. She's got this. Perseverance and Great Service, that's the XMart way.
"Let's go get some fossils, all right, Mint?"
The Sickle Grass Pokemon's eyes crinkled in an expression of cheer, raising their little sickles to the sky. <"Yep-yep!">

CYCLE 2: MESOZOIC MANIA #corruptionzone #megathread #palenyantology"So here's the deal!" Bunya starts, swinging her shovel and chopping a skull in half with a cheerful crunch. "...This stuff nyan top's no good! It's full of human remains. We gotta dig down to find the good stuff." She begins to dig in earnest, scooping ash over the exposed skeletons like bones in a litterbox.
"See, this spot's great, because half our work's nyalready done for us!" The scientist pauses to wipe her brow, gesturing up at the rim of the crater high in the distance. It is clear you are at the bottom of a deep valley, unnaturally formed. "If we're lucky, nyander all this ash and debris we can probably even get down to mesozoic!"
She continues working, her Aerodactyl using its wings to sift through loose ash beside her. A creeping malaise seems to be affecting it, as it does all your Pokémon. A sense of invisible anticipation, like a kiss in the dark.
"Nyeh! Just look at this stuff! It's got Corruptnyan all over it!" Bunya seems both excited and disgusted as she unearths a mass of wriggling silver tinsel. She tries to catch a strand between her hands like a cat and squashes it messily, leaving her fingers dripping with tar and congealed blood. "Yeaugh!! Shoulda brought my nyabber gloves!"
Humor can only distance the imminent threat by so much. Your time here is limited: use it wisely.

Adarsa listened as Tuesday answered him, was busy staring at Bunya when she asked about Kazuki, and only focused again when she started praising Dahlia.
"Isn't she lovely? Just absolutely perfect," He gushed, pulling the dunsparce into his arms to squeze her a bit, Dahlia seeming neither adoring not maligned by the action.
He took the pickaxe- which was heavy- and paused, frowning. He hadn't noticed before. But there was terrible music. Why... was that here? Had someone messed up a mp3, somewhere?
Trying to shake off the noise- and inevitably falling into a rhythmn from it- he shifted his grip on the pickaxe, hauled it up, sort of just let the tip fall to the ground via gravity. There was a bit of ash, and the little square foot in front of him was cleared. This "mining" stuff was easy!

Hekate can feel the colour drain from her face when Dr Bunya points out they're standing on human remains. She looks down, suddenly able to make out a few bones jutting out here and there. Her rational mind knows they aren't real, just like everything else she sees, but her emotional mind is at the wheel and has decided to just keep spinning it.
Then, the bells. Where were they coming from? It felt like they were inside her ears, pounding against her eardrums. Spinning and ringing and spinning and ringing and-
She closes her eyes, hefting her pickaxe above her head. She moved without thinking, as if to dispel the sickening feeling with a single wicked strike. Lil Guy looks up, sees her readying her pick, and quickly ducks behind her legs to avoid getting hit. The pick falls, hitting the ground in front of her with a loud crunch and sending ash flying.

When she opens her eyes, she sees a glint of orange among the black and white. As she leans down to pick it up, a popup in her UI informs her - Old Amber (Aerodactyl).
"Huh...?" She examines it closely, squinting to try and make out the amber's contents. "Is this like- like that, uh, dinosaur film? Jurassic World???" The name Aerodactyl is familiar, at least. 1d15

IS HE TALKING TO ME?! If Honya was eating something in that moment, she'd probably choke on it, but as it was, only a deep crimson blush covered her face. Thankfully, the reflection on her ingame model wasn't as drastic. Her cheeks took on a pretty, rosy hue and she smiled nervously. The pickaxe she held in both hands successfully prevented any fidgeting that might have occurred with the sudden introduction.
"I'm Yuya, nice to meet you!" She replied and the shakiness of her voice could (at least she hoped) be attributed to a poor internet connection. "Thank you, she's the best! And your pokemon... I love that species! I hope I can get my own Snubull one day, they're sooo cute!" She indeed was one of those weirdos who found the puppy pokemon adorable, but she'd never commit the crime of evolving it. Of course she had enough sense to keep it to herself.
"Yes, you're right... it's quite a change of pace. I'm pretty new here and so far I've only seen small sections of Asper. It's so... unsettling. But you seem familiar with it, do you have any tips for me?" Honya expected to hear something along the lines of "be better" and she couldn't argue that it would be a pretty good advice. After all, it all relied on her pokemon's endurance.
And speaking of, since time was a-ticking, and the rules were explained to them, there was nothing else to do but to start digging! Could it be that they'd actually reach mesozoic? In here everything seemed possible! Honya didn't have any particular goal in mind, she just wanted to be surprised and have fun! [Fossil]ZtTllpJx13-13Confirmed by C0D13
An Armor Fossil?! Sheldon wasn't one her her favourites, but she wasn't going to complain about receiving a gift! Especially a rare one such as an ancient fossil in the first turn! Still, she hoped she might trade it with someone for something more to her liking... Midori: 350/400 1d15

At the sight of the creeping malaise forming upon the Aerodactyl, Cypress would give a nervous glance to Spearmint - the same appeared to be afflicting the mantis, though she didn't appear to really note it. A part of the wolf woman was a bit happy that nothing bad seemed to be happening...yet. But another part of her, the rational part, was worried. "Nyeh! Just look at this stuff! It's got Corruptnyan all over it!" Cypress turned to face Bunya - a mass of silver tinsel was writhing and wriggling in the doctor's hand like an upset worm before being squished into red and black, congealed blood and tar mixing with silver as the monochrome haired woman smothered down a panicked yelp at the sight, heart beginning to race and adrenaline pumping - Just ignore it, just ignore it, focus on what you're here to do, ignore it ignore it! The pick clangs against the ground in rhythm with the distorted song, fear swallowed deep within the stomach. Just...focus. Focus on the rhythm, focus on the mining.
