Laguna didn't exactly like this. But it wasn't hard to see that this was going to be a pretty big event, with rather huge implications for the world. Human skulls? Gross tinsel exploding into blood? Just a reminder that they were in fact in Mistra.
And it wasn't going to be that easy, either. The Starlet looked around slowly scanning the crowd, and the unease that was visible on her Pokémon, and Bunya's Aerodactyl. This place was unnatural, corrupted, something wasn't right. And the uncomfortable holiday tunes really didn't make the moment any better.
Even still, she kept her eyes very close on Bunya. Maybe the Players would respawn and be safe, but... She wouldn't if something bad happened. She made a mental note, ready to spring into action at the slightest moment of trouble. Even still, her gaze would swiftly shift over to orioncayge as he spoke. "Talking cement?" She raised an eyebrow, but didn't push him too much further. Probably a bad experience of some kind in Mistra. Literally anything could happen here, from her knowledge. Overhearing Big Bee talk about zombies, she was quite glad that she had never voluntarily attempted to enter Mistra... until now.
Her eyes glazed across the crowd once more, seeing a face that she genuinely hadn't been expecting, Nero . Given everything, there was a part of her that couldn't help but feel both proud and worried at the exact same time.
"Roxanne?" Laguna suddenly spoke, the massive Onix turning its head down at their trainer. They had previously been trying to peer above the horizon of The Curve before responding.
"Yes, Auntie?"
"I'm gonna move around a bit, chat with different people as we dig. Move carefully with me, will you? I'd... rather not break any human bones that remain here, if you understand." She'd turn on her heel back to orioncayge , nodding as she spoke. "Gonna walk around, careful now! And uh- Good loot hunting?"
The Onix just nods, slowly sliding across the earth as gently as she can, following her trainer across the earth to approach Nero . "H-hey!" Laguna would speak up, finally swinging her pickaxe into the ground nearby him in time with the out of place holiday horror tune. "Been a little bit, mind if i dig with you for a bit? This place isn't fun alone, even at the best of times."

After pulling a small piece of paper aside from the hole he was making and sticking it into his pocket for now, Nero paused for a moment, setting his pickax down and leaning on it. The stupid tag thing had interrupted his rhythm, but he did appreciate the break from the laborious work... Which was odd now that he thought about it. Sure, in the real world he wouldn't be able to do something like this for long (or at all...) but he'd never felt exhausted by physical activity in UNOVR so far. He'd turned all those settings down to minimum so he could make the most of the physical freedom he had in here. So why all of a sudden was he feeling exhausted here?
One would think his surroundings would clue him in a bit more, but nah - it was just a game after all.
His Electrike seemed to be in the same predicament, sitting down and panting beside him as he rested, despite usually having so much more energy than this. Weird. Maybe the event had messed with everyone's settings to make it harder or something?
While he was thinking, a voice calling his name had him looking up, and he caught sight of Josh Devlin nearby shouting a greeting towards him. The polite thing to do would be to smile and wave back and give a cheerful encouragement towards this ex battle partner - so obviously Nero did none of those things. Instead, he turned very pointedly away from him, lifting up the pickax once more and preparing to launch back into action. Josh had seen him resting so he probably thought he was weak now. Stupid pickax, stupid game, stupid Josh.
Another voice caught him entirely off guard, too distracted by his own internal grumblings to apparently even notice a massive Onix approaching him. His Electrike barked at the thing, unsure if it was friend or foe and waiting for confirmation while Nero turned to look towards who the monstrosity belonged to.
Oh, Laguna .
Oh that was okay actually.
"Sure, yeah," he replied, quick to get back to his own digging so that she didn't see him looking weak like Josh did. She'd seen more than enough of that already after all. In fact, he made a point of doubling down on his efforts now so that she could see just how strong and in control he actually was. He would just ignore the growing ache to his muscles and the way his electric partner was digging a little more slowly now. That was probably all in his imagination anyway.

Joy just smirked as she watched Bunya crack a skull in half with her shovel. That was metal as hell. She was kind of digging the vibe of this place. Horror tropes, digging up bones, wreckage of the old world, and everything else. Just before she could really get to digging, someone (Big Bee) talked about apples being in the Grove, and suddenly her Noibat would not stop talking about it.
"Man!" It proclaimed, ears twitching about wildly as it glanced over to the trainer who spoke, then back at Joy. "I want to go to the Grove! I want fruit! Lots and lots of fruits! Apples, Oranges, Melons, I want a Durian!"
"Durians smell like turpentine and wet garbage." Replied Joy, shaking her head.
"Bluh, I don't care! It isn't fair! I still want one!"
Joy groaned annoyingly, her pickaxe dragging on the ground. "Yeah? Well, you know..." She paused, her eyes glancing over at Alicia Westfield and their surprisingly large Plant Pokémon. Joy certainly didn't know it was called a Chikorita. "I hear, some Pokémon taste like fruit."
"They- Wait, what?" The Noibat paused its frustrated ramble, tilting his head curiously.
"Yeah. I mean, grass Pokemon are plants, yeah? Same as an orange. Why don't you go ask one for a bite? They can pull off leaves and shit. Hell, pretty sure one is just a dinosaur with bananas on its face." She just smirked with a sarcastic tone to her voice, slamming her pickaxe down into the earth to hopefully pull up something good.
"Uh, well... I mean, Minion does kind of look like a piquillo pepper," It muses softly, thinking of Joy's Fuecoco before finally deciding to act. It flutters its wings sluggishly, the hunger of fruit was overwhelming the unnease in the air. For now. It flew right over towards Tikani the Chikorita, right beside Alicia Westfield, and spoke up.
"Excuse me, do you taste good? I'm really hungry. Are you a fruit? Is that okay to ask? I'd hate to be rude, but I'm really hungry."

Alicia smiled a bit as she picked up the fiery evolution stone. There’s certainly something she could see herself using this on, but there was probably other ways to get Fire Stones. So she’d keep looking. She was trying for a Fossil Pokemon after all, and then she might be able to ask around if someone wanted it in the event she didn’t get one she personally wanted. So she took a breath to settle in, looking over to check on Tikani. ”Uwaaaaaaaaaaah!” Who was suddenly pestered by an unexpected source, another Trainer’s Noibat. Tense and on guard as she looked to protect her partner, Tikani was on edge already even this early, and so the tiny wyvern spooked her quite badly. ”Tikani!?” Alicia gasped out, whirling to see the situation. Tikani had jumped away from the Noibat and waved her head leaf around wildly to ward the wyvern away. ”No! I do not taste good! And even if I did taste good I sure as heck wouldn’t tell anyone that I did! I don’t like the thought of being randomly bitten out of nowhere because someone got hungry! Who in their right mind just flutters up to someone and ask if they taste good!? For that matter my plant aspects aren’t fruit at all! You’d need something like an Exegguctor! Or a Bounsweet! And there’s no raise to ask about that without coming off as rude anyways! How would you feel if I decided I wanted a barbecue wing and decided I wanted to chew on yours!?”Alicia blinked in surprise, actually kind of impressed at the mini(-ish?) tirade the Chikorita went on as she ranted at Joy’s Noibat. But she had to break this up and gently stepped over, lifting her hand to give the little wyvern a perch. ”Hey… I’m sorry you’re hungry but we don’t really have anything to offer. Haven’t had a lot of time to accumulate a lot of spare things. But you can stick around if you want. Just… please don’t ask to eat Tikani again. I care for her.””You’re hand’s right there, wind up and pitch…” Tikani grumbled quietly, feeling far leas charitable than she normally would be. ”And lets get what we can before this place gets more dangerous.””Don’t worry, I’m not going to waste any time.” Alicia assured. Josh and Granmarg both started coughing as the rancid odor of burning biological matter floated away from the sandy ground and into their nostrils. His carrying voice only made the noise all the louder and more distracting. It took away more than his breath, too; the blonde dropped to his knees, flipped his pickaxe out of the way hastily, and puked into the hole he was digging.
Welp. No one was unearthing anything beneath it.
Granmarg's coughing fit was longer than Josh's, though the Mudsdale eventually settled down while keeping his breakfast intact. As he was catching his breath, he could have sworn he saw Alicia Westfield 's tag pop up in the corner of his UI. Though his shout came out weaker than normal, his voice carried so far that he was certain his acquaintance could hear him.
"Alicia! What in the Great One's name are you doing here?!" he asked, still pangs of sickness present in his voice. "Are you looking for a trip to the world of the Game Overed?!" While Josh was busy being a fatherly figure, his steed looked for another place to start digging. While it wouldn't be as efficient as Josh was with the pickaxe, it would make things much easier when his trainer made his return.

#s://i~imgur~com/sMbMhHQ~jpg Someone was running up to her. Goodness gracious, she looked like some kind of Hollywood ninja, the type you'd see in John Wick or somesuch. Emery had a cousin who was neck-deep in martial arts movies, Eastern and Western, and she used to watch him watch them in the dead of night, standing at his bedroom door.
"So you are! And so they are," repeated Emery, tilting to the side. Those were definitely insect wings alright. "Do you feel them in real life? What does it feel like? Needles stuck in your back, tape plastered onto the skin? Is that mask you have for medical or aesthetic purposes? Ha, who am I kidding! It's not like any medical condition you'd have in real life would transfer here, would it? You've a little monkey with you I see. He seems very agile. I'm Emery, by the way. Care to parlay?"
She held out a hand for the ninja lady to shake. As always, Emery ignored the nametag floating on top (Jade Jager ) and insisted on a 'traditional' approach.
"This seal on my head is Idol."
"Hello, hello!" Idol slapped both flippers over Emery's ears, causing a mini shockwave in her cochlea. "You're very interesting! You fit the bill to a T! Well, I mean I hope so, I don't know how good my judgement is, but Viv told me to use it, so I'm using it as liberally as I can!"
He snorted as if to clear his nostrils.
Emery was about to say something when another person, some man she supposed, came over. He addressed her brief-as-you-please and immediately directed his attention to Idol, who seemed absolutely chuffed.
"Oh. Oh! Oh, it's going swell, big guy! Eck, except for all this" - Idol waved a flipper at the general state of the landscape - "smog and whatnot. Can't take two breaths without a tickle down my throat, and a real bad one at that! I don't think I can do very much, but I'll give it a sporting try, Mr Bee!"
"You don't have to use mister with him, I'm sure," remarked Emery with some cheek in her tone.
"Okay then, Bee!"
"What he said." Emery grinned at this Bee character, took in his appearance. For once, she allowed herself to acknowledge his nametag, but only for a very specific reason. "I'm Emery, despite what Idol up there says, since we're all using fake names here, aren't we? Especially yours, 'Big Bee ' - compensating for something?" She laughed quickly and then shook her head as if to say I'm only messin' with ya. "None of my business, that. People can be whatever they like here! Look, this lady's gone and merged herself with some sort of dragonfly, even. Well, I'd shake yours too, but both of my hands are a bit occupied now, so you'll have to settle with something a bit more wet. Idol?"
The seal yipped and held out a flipper.
There were a ton of people milling about now, and with them brought great puffs of utter shit. Emery hoped it wasn't actual shit; she'd settle for long-preserved excrement if that was the only other option. She actually felt like she caught a glimpse of Jian somewhere, but that black hair was gone within microseconds amidst all the crud floating around. Archaeology had been too deep a niche for her parents to throw her into, but it couldn't be that bad. From the looks of things, the background music served as a strange beat for impaxing (impact + pickaxe + ing). A very odd work song, this was. It kind of reminded her of music from a tinny department store speaker system, one of those tracks the staff were forced to listen to Clockwork Orange style - except with ears - every holiday season.
Privately, she kept time, and swung. The bad doctor Bunya was yammering some gibberish as usual, and from this distance it was a bit harder to parse than usual.
[Fossil]1MWR3yVE1d15 Eugh, what the hell is this?
She'd definitely not dug through dirt. Dirt did not congeal like that and it certainly did not sift away to reveal what looked like the Earth's own viscera. Emery didn't care for it and tried to not look for too long. A something rolled out at one point, tapping against her foot, which she drew up out of sheer instinct. On her head, Idol didn't seem to notice; he'd gone eerily quiet. Emery crouched down and picked the object up. Dripping with sticky, honey-like mud, it remained solid enough under a few tentative squeezes, so she kept it, even though she couldn't tell what it was.
It was while she was close to the ground and examining whatever it was she'd found that the whole souls conversation drifted around her head. What this kind of topic was doing here was beyond her, but Emery wasn't about to pass up a debate, even if it was a philosophical one she was poorly armed for.
"That's an equally good counter. Proof of having a soul doesn't lie in the drive to create, because then a little over half the Earth's population would be soulless." Emery stayed in her crouch and looked up at the both of them. Each word came approximately out of her ass, but it was full of on-the-spot consideration. The question had never entered within a million kilometers of her mind throughout her entire life. "You said it yourself - that's just pride. Pride in your own accomplishments, in how they make others feel good about you, or you about yourself. It makes you feel like you're worth something in the guise of passion. There's nothing wrong with that: everyone needs a little something to help them along. You're fulfilling a need, the return of which is whatever you choose to interpret it as. A soul is..."
She looked over in the general area of Professor Pussy (not that meaning). "Not that. That's manmade. Being able to think is as close as you'll get to knowing you have a soul. Beyond that, what sits in our driver's seat" - she tapped her temple - "doesn't even know it exists sometimes, doesn't even know how it itself works. It came up with a whole discipline to study itself, don't you think that's funny? Anyway, I feel like that's a tangent. But is it really important, knowing or not knowing that souls exist? Does it make life easier? Does it somehow justify this or that? I said just now that half of everyone would be soulless. Is that really such a bad thing, if it were true? Don't people smile and laugh and live and die no matter what?"
Emery finally straightened up, brushing some grit off her calves. She stared into the false eyes of those who stood nearby and really tried to imagine the people behind them.
"Do you have a soul? Right now I mean. The you here, in this world. Does your avatar, whom you made in your image, whatever that is, with a persona of its own that's different from yours, a backstory that you conjured up, quirks and tells and flourishes all different from yours, have a soul of its own?"
On her head, Idol swayed.

#s://i~imgur~com/X98pLFg~jpg "Y-yeah, it's like when they play a creepy, slowed down version of children nursery rhymes in horror games or movies." Jian replied with a nervous chuckle at the lady (Domino ) whom he assumed was talking to him.
He hasn't actually been that focused on what's been 'playing' in the background this whole time right after the point where Dr Bunya mentioned 'human remains' being the top layer of the dig site. A constant look of uneasiness now graced his features as years and years of ingrained Asian superstition crept up on him. This may be a game but you never know what could happen when you unintentionally disrespect things that are supposedly dead.
"Come on now, didn't you say you were going to get this over and done with?" Yanyan reminded Jian with a light headbutt, though the litten came away feeling slightly dizzy. He frowned before giving himself a full body shake.
"Yeah, okay, you're right. Come on, let's see if we can get anything good out of, um, all this. 对不起,不好意思." The man quickly muttered an apology under his breath as he tuned into the weird chiming noise in the distance before swinging his pickaxe over his head and into the ground before him.
[Fossil]5QsmMnQx1d15
The pickaxe hits into something hard, startling Jian. But he was still excited nonetheless as he sifted through the remaining dirt to find what looks to be a...uh...
"A Tyrunt jaw, huh? Well, I'll take it I guess. Sorry, excuse me..." He apologized again as he gingerly held it up by the tips of fingers at an arm's length, shaking off the loose ash that clung to it before putting it away.
Upon doing so, Jian half expected to be shown a pop-up or something that allowed him to maybe exit this area since he's already found a fossil right? That's sort of the whole quest? But no such option appeared on his UI. So it's one of those 'Do this till the end of the Quest's time limit' sort of thing then.
"Eugh, figured as much." Yanyan complained before shaking his head again.
"Yeah, sorry bout that buddy. We'll be in it for the long haul as usual," Jian chuckled apologetically (he'll be doing a lot of that while here) as he scratched the back of the Litten's ears. "We might as well see what else we can find."
The man decided to wander off to find a different spot to dig since who knows how these RNG type things work when he heard a familiar tone of voice drifting over. Jian scanned the bunches of Nametags in the surrounding area before picking out a recognizable name.
Grinning at finding someone he 'knew', he lightly jogged over to where Emery V. was standing, just barely catching the last of her little speech. She seemed to be standing with two other people (Jade Jager & Big Bee).
"Yo, 小妹!Also good to see you again Idol. Didn't think I'd see both of you here, hope I'm not interrupting anything, wouldn't want to get in the way of you making new friends." He looked over to the two before giving a friendly wave. "Name's Jian, by the way. And the litten's Yanyan.

Lucille blinked as her pickaxe struck through the layers of charred biological material, unearthing a piece of fossilized bone from some kind of Pokémon that she didn't recognize in the slightest, It was an odd greenish blue color with a large set of jaws with a dome shaped head engraved into the surface, and what looked like fins? It was an odd-looking thing and looked pretty incomplete as one would have put it. The ashen-haired woman began dusting off the remainder of the fossil before taking it into her hands and looking at her archeology partner ❝Look familiar to you, Byleth?❞ Luci asked, her demeanor Stoic and calming down from her earlier unease somewhat. Byleth took a moment to glance at her trainer, shaking her large triangular head and settling back into her digging activity, scraping through the charred matter with her noodle-armed appendages. Intent on looking for more treasures, some potentially for her private stash. The motherly dragon even getting her little Dreepy missiles to help in her endeavor, the floating little noodle-dragons squealing and scooping up small amounts of matter with their stubby arms and carrying it into an ever building pile.
Lucille shrugged her shoulders at her Dragapult and moved to set the fossil down beside the ghostly creature. Figuring it was better to keep whatever they dug up in a pile where they could pick out what they wanted at a later point in their excursion. Once that was done, the jacket-clad woman returned to swinging her pickaxe, the sounds of sleigh bells and clanking metal ever present in her mind.

CYCLE 3: PALEOZOIC PANIC #corruptionzone #megathread #palenyantologyBunya moves swiftly between players, inspecting any fossils you find using a magnifying glass with 'Property of Professor Ash' engraved on the side. She peers at Josh Devlin 's Plume Fossil, then ducks around orioncayge to look at his find. She narrows her eyes. "How nyanusual," she says, tapping her chin with a bone. She inspects a few more fossils, getting uncomfortably close to Kazuki 's Old Amber. "You nyow, the secret to palenyantology is to look for trends!" This isn't a revelation. It is how most fields of study work. "And I've noticed that there are nyo signs of corruptnyan on the fossils!"The Mesozoic level underfoot, now sufficiently cleared, disappears like a completed line of Tetris blocks, and the background clang of pickaxes and jingle of bells is interrupted by a communal scream as everyone falls five feet down to the next layer. PALEOZOIC PANIC!Bunya lands lithely on all fours. "The corruptnyan looks weaker down here," she says, kicking at a black clod of dirt. "I think the further down we go the more pristine the soil!" She slinks over to Hekate and makes conversation while eyeing the woman's Old Amber. "You nyow what that means right? We could have just tunnyeled in! ”WAAAAAH!” The disappearance of the layer they were on was alarming in a way few things could be. She had barely pocketed the new fossil that, in her opinion, looked half mutilated before she was dropping far too many feet for her liking. Not unplanned at least. The Noibat Joy sent her way should probably be fine at least? But for all her surprise, Alicia had landed alright, seeing some open area she could roll into to soften her landing and pop right back up to her feet. Tikani, however, was not so fortunate, and promptly splatted face first into the new stratum. ”Don’t. Laugh.” she grumbled out with enough venom to be mistaken for a Poison type. This entire trip had been a mistake from the first moment in her opinion, though she did quietly appreciate the subtle happy gleam on her partner’s face with each unearthed prize. Even if some of them were definitely in the ‘will leave behind’ or ‘will trade’ categories. ”I wouldn’t dare.” Alicia assured her completely honestly, coming back to pry her partner out of the ground. But there was the matter of the present that suddenly appeared, as well as the UI prompt. ”Um… okay, really don’t want to see what the negative aspect could entail. Erm, do I just… hand it to someone? Or is there an option in the interface…” And so the pinkette delved into the interface more deeply, looking around to see if there was some option she had to hit in order to officially give the present away. ”What are you looking at…?” Tikani asked with a quirked eyebrow. ”Event thing, trying to clarify something…” Alicia muttered off hand. ”… Geh, I’ll figure it out in a moment, I’m not going to waste more time then I have to. Is there any chance you could check if someone passes a gift to someone else and see what they do?””I make no promises I’ll catch it all.” Tikani noted. ”Fair enough.” Alicia agreed, taking a few stabs at the new layer they were on. The ground opened up beneath him, and Adarsa screamed. He landed awkwardly, legs crumpling. "I- I- What the fuck!" He cried out, pushing himself back to his feet, hands full of grit. Dahlia, with a loud bang, slammed flat onto the ground next to him.
And then, of course, there was something else.
"Present?" Adarsa echoed, finding the thing in his hands near-instantly. It... looked like a Christmas present. A pretty nondescript one. Adarsa shook it, and held it up to his ear. He didn't hear anything, but... He looked at Tuesday first, as if gauging what Mars would do with a present. And then he saw Kazuki. Adarsa squinted, drew back, and hurled the package at Kazuki's head.
Not that it would do much- he knew what was in Himura's head. A fuck load of nothing.
Dahlia, meanwhile, kept at her digging.

Lucille's pickaxe made a resounding clang as it struck through the charcoal-colored matter below, lowering herself down as she set her gaze upon what looked to be a chunk of solidified amber, a strand of bone dead in its center perfectly preserved. The composed woman quirked an eyebrow as she swiped her gloved hands across the dirt, clearing off debris and smaller chunks of human remains to try and uncover more of her findings. Her UI brought up the name OLD AMBER for the fossilized amber resting in her palms, nodding her head, Lucille pocketed the item just in time for the blackened floor below to dissipate from under her. She opened her mouth to scream, but her voice would die in her throat before ever reaching the ears of the fellow players around her.
They had fallen a good few feet now. Her landing wasn't as bad as it could've been, thanks to her Dragapult grasping a hold of her hands to steady her fall to a gentle glide down to the floor ❝Once again saving my bacon, Byleth. Thank you.❞ Short and sweet, exactly how she preferred things usually. Pale-blue irises flitted about to study her surroundings, the ground was more pristine than the previous layers of earth, or rather Mistra. There wasn't even a moment to dust off her jacket and clothes before an annoying jingle pierced her ears and a pop-up darted across her UI. Eyes scanned the description of the gift. A bead of sweat forming across her brow as she lifted her arm to wipe it against the fabric of her sleeve. Ok, she had to palm this off on someone otherwise she would end up one some kind of... naughty list?
Her head swiveled from side to side as she looked over the players scattered around the excavation site. Great, who would she even give this to? An unamused hum left the woman's throat as she stared at the gift that had materialized within her hands. Perhaps Big Bee would be somewhat easier for her to approach, having already gone into battle together with many others. They were at least somewhat acquaintances, right? They hadn't exactly interacted very much but still. Big Bee was approachable and a friendly face if anything, and Lucille, bless her anxious soul, could stand to get out of her own shell a little more.
With a nod and her mind made up, she began her approach. Fingers fumbling idly with the ribbon that sat against the cardboard surface of the gift box as the sound of dull footsteps seemed to die out in the empty space. What was a few brief moments felt like an eternity as she closed the distance between herself and Big Bee, leaving her Dragapult, Byleth to her own digging devices. The treasure below the surface calling to the ghostly-being.
❝Big Bee, hello.❞ Lucille finally greeted, without another word she awkwardly jutted the gift towards the man, her eyes looking everywhere else but the trainer standing before her.

Kazuki paused, managing to hit something solid—not paper. He plucked the OLD AMBER from the rubble. It didn’t look like a fossil, or at least not one he expected. Very round and smooth like a pebble, but it almost glowed in the dim light, and even as he held it up to his eye, he found it difficult to decipher what was encased inside.
He very nearly threw it when he found Dr. Bunya inches away from his face, separated only by the amber. “Damn it, Bunya! Personal space!” he hissed, but there’s little to be done when his prize was under monocle.
And while it may have been a non-revelation for most, Kazuki was not a smart man, and he seemed ever more intrigued by the weird honey stone he uncovered. It wasn’t coated in corruption, but would it stay that way, if he kept it with him and his team?
The ground gave out from under them.
Kazuki crashed into the lower layer along with the rest of the excavation team, though his fall was less the slap of bones on tarmac and more like throwing your dad’s carburetor on the trash curb. The lower ground cracked under the impact and weight, and Kazuki grunted, moving to get up.
Only to get nailed by a thousand more carburetors.
“Letting you evolve was a mistake,” he wheezed, as Mudsdale took another minute to ensure the dough was properly flattened before getting to her hooves.
As he finally, finally picked himself off the ground, a pop-up signaled the arrival of the next event. Kazuki scrunched his face, unable to remove it. There was something in his hands—crinkly and smooth like gift wrap, with a bow, and no matter how hard he tried to open it (with his hands, and then after with his teeth), it would not.
Something gently paps against his head, falling into his arms and adding onto the pile of what was no doubt blight-in-a-box. Whipping his head around, Kazuki already recognized that pansyass throw and was quick to retaliate by hurling his gift at starlitlover with the force of a guided missile.
Mudsdale hummed, having had a taste of relaxation, and was now digging while lying on the ground, with her nose.

Orion tore his gaze from his first piece of loot as he watched both Bee and Blue split up to go socialize a bit more. He opened his mouth to say something back, it probably would have been totally cool and nonchalant, but suddenly Bunya was up in his business looking at his find with squinted eyes. His jaw clenched a bit as she just...ambled about like she owned the place, like it wasn't supposed to be Ashe leading this sort of thing (Not that she'd have trekked them into this shitshow to begin with.) Still, he had a job to do and a cover to keep, so spy he would.
"You want me to keep an eye on Blue?" Achilles would ask after Bunya had bailed. "Nah, she's more than capable of taking care of herself, but Nero." He said motioning to the player next to her. "He's new, keep him covered eh?" "Got it boss."
With that the lions would stride over and join Nero, giving him a furry thumbs up and a nod before posting up like a bodyguard, arms cross and ready to crack some skulls (the living ones not the paleontological finds).
Orion on the other hand would look for fresher pay dirt, striding over to join Tuesday and Rose Garden
"Merry Christmas you two! Having a good time digging over here?" He'd ask both Armorer and Amateur Archeologist alike. He would watch Kazuki throw something...a present? At another player he didn't recognize. Was this part of the event? Was that a find? He had no way of knowing, and suddenly he was back to being on edge.
"Yall mind if I dig with you for a bit? They say that you never find two pieces of loot in the same hole."

Adarsa huffed, pleased with himself, and turned to look at Dahlia- only for something to slam into the back of his head, sending him toppling to the ground.
Dahlia, wings flapping in agitation, did not care about his potential brain damage.
Adarsa groaned, holding the tender part of his skull, pulling his hand back to look for blood- only to find snow on his hand. Snow... It had started snowing. Adarsa blinked, distracted from Kazuki's violence, and looked up- only to yelp, ducking and raising a hand to his face. It wasn't snow- it was ash, dark and caustic, acrid where it hit his throat. What- What was going on?
In a cruel trick, he stepped onto another digging spot in time with the evil, stupid music.
