PRECIPICE SHRINEApproach the edge of the pit...Getting lost in the Misty Timberland is terrifying, but eventually you will emerge at the edge. Not the edge of the woods, but at the edge of a hole dropping down into icy blackness.
The edge of the pit is obscured by mist, and those who pray at this ancient site must speak their words looking down into the abyss. Recently, the pit is ringed by small pink wildflowers. They have no particular scent, and brighten up the chilly atmosphere.
Those who spend long enough staring down into the dark may feel like they are gazing at a vast, closed eye. Black lid shut over unseen iris. And yet, there is a feeling that whatever creature this shrine was built to worship has now noticed your presence.
new! Psychic energy shimmers and dances across the rim of the shrine like oil on water. The shrine now appears to work as a portal to another dimension. If you wish, you may pass through it and enter the Dream World from this location.
Approach the Shrine... When you reach 0 HP, you can bring your fainted Pokemon to the shrine. Make a post in this thread and the mysterious energy below will restore them to full health. Pokemon can be changed to Galarian Form at this location.

Lucky had come across this place as if by accident. An ancient stone platform in the misty forest? How could he say no? Yet his enthusiasm would drain as he approached the centre and came to understand the true purpose of this place.
"...A shrine. This is a shrine," He muttered beneath his foggy breath. Lucky knew what had happened the last time a shrine had come to fruition. Even so... He looked at the state of his Pokémon as was. They were hurt, and Lucky wouldn't stand to keep them that way-damn the consequences that could come of it. If a god were to come from the clangors of the shrine, Lucky would teach him that it should have stayed benevolent while it had the chance.
He and his Pokémon together-they would see it through.

As she finally approached the Shrine, Dewpider took another nip at her leg and she just narrowly jumped over it. Definitely time to heal up. “Olga get health,” which she figured would be good enough as a prayer to the Shrine.
She dropped Popplio’s body next to the giant hole so she could heal up as well. Olga figured that since Dewpider glitched onto her there was no danger in leaving the knocked out pokemon behind. Judging by the scuttling noises that continued behind her as she played a messed up ring around the rosie, her assumption was correct. “Olga get health!” she growled a little louder. They really did take their sweet time on triggering the heal mechanic.

Orion would stop here first, on his way to another adventure. The Professors list of the area was wanting, another shrine needed documentation. He lingered over the edge for a moment, peering into the foggy abyss below. The hair on the back of his neck tingled, his toes curled, and he took a deep breath.
JUMP
The urge struck him, violently trying to force him forward over the edge into the abyss. The call to the void was strong, but he was stronger. Shaking his head he turned and left, healed but also scarred by the encounter. Whoever had made this game was a sick fucker, he decided.

It was one of the times that Peace was playing without the watchful eye of diva. He had wandered into the Timberland this time, Abby clutched in his arms. While his HP wasn't really low, actually he didn't think he had taken any damage, he wondered if the healing of a shrine could make his pokemon wake up. Abby was a good girl! She just was... asleep about 90% of the time he was with her. It made doing stuff with her kind of hard.
The mists swirled around him, curious, and Peace drifted closer to the hole.
He paused, feeling wrong, and wondered what to do. Did he just pray?
"Uh... 'Blessed are you, Lord our God, king of the universe'.... uh...." Was this thing nondenominational? Was it blasphemous to say an actual holy prayer in a video game? Many questions that needed answering.
Stepping closer, the mist thickened. He couldn't even see the hole any more. At least not until he heard the crumbing of rocks, his toes right on the edge.
Peering down into the bleakness, Peace frowned. It still made him feel... wrong. This place was healing but it didn't feel holy. Reaching for his pokeball, he called Abby back into it. He didn't want her around whatever this thing was!
A hand, firmly on his back.
Pushed.
Peace cried out as he was shoved roughly into the hole. He glanced behind him to try and catch whoever it was in the act. There was no one there. Just the thick mist. So Peace toppled into the large hole, all on his own.

"I should toss that damn thing in here."
Currently, Tuesday finds herself lying down at the edge of the hole that makes for a shrine, as if to peek at the depths beneath. There’s nothing but cold and darkness, yet mismatched eyes stare down, clinging to the edge while her Fennekin sits by her side.
<'You’re going to fall like that idiot before you.'>
The fox means Peace Maker, who they just so happened to see fall into the hole when they arrived at the shrine. Total coincidence!
"Sh. Just focus on healing up or I’ll toss you in."
She’s joking… For the most part, at least.

The cold that’s almost as if exuded by the hole in the ground sure doesn’t help with drying her clothes after what Tuesday has dubbed ’The Ducklett Incident’, but she sits right by the edge nevertheless, looking down at depths beneath as if fascinated. The Fennekin standing by her side doesn’t seem to share this interest of hers, but he stays nevertheless – perhaps for his trainer’s sake, or perhaps because he’s still too damn tired.
"We should do something about your skills, Aesop." She says, still looking at the hole. It would be pretty bad if another tiny pokémon beat them up, right? She should probably also look into that ‘Tall Grass HP’ thing Furrlicity Purrfection mentioned.
With a sigh, Tuesday opens her UI, set on making good use of her time.

As Manish approached the Shrine, the intense feeling of dread inside of him kept growing and growing. It didn’t look like the other Shrines, rather it was just a giant hole in the ground. But the dark gaping maw didn’t do anything to make him feel more comfortable. He clutched Larvitar to his chest as he got closer.
“Um. Hello, uh, Shrine. Uh, could you um, would you be able to uh…Can you heal Larvitar?” He mumbled as he stopped at the edge. “But just heal her! I don’t…I want to keep her. Please. It’s just, well, she got hurt and the other Shrine used to help. Till it went bad. And then the other Shrine, well…Um. Anyway. Please? Can you uh, can you please help her?” Even while pleading with the Shrine he made sure to keep a firm grip on Larvitar and to keep an eye out for any pop ups. He wasn’t going to make that mistake again and the Shrine would have to pry Larvitar from his hands if it wanted her.

"Hi, God. It’s me again."
What a ridiculous thing to say, but considering how often she’s been coming to this literal hole in the ground, it seems only fitting to greet it – especially considering how everyone apparently worships at these supposed “shrines” as if there were actual deities here. If only Tuesday knew a bit more about pokémon lore, right?
"Still quiet down there? Cool, cool. Well, don’t mind me, I’ll just sit here and heal my pokémon up."
And so she does, calling out the Cryogonal her Fennekin had tried to melt. Unlike the evil Ducklett she refuses to let out of the pokéball, Cryogonal seems surprisingly fond of her, even going as far as wrapping one end of its ice chain around her forearm. Good thing she has sleeves!
"You’re pretty cool, huh?" Pun intended. They’re always intended. "Buuut… This thing is freezing, so can you let go?"
Tentatively, a gloved hand pats the sentient snowflake.

And here it finally was. The Precipice Shrine. Or at least, it appeared to be the case. A massive hole that went down for infinity. As far as she knew, it probably actually did. Video games loved their infinite holes. Even still, the mist was beautiful, and awe-inspiring at the same time.
Laguna sat right at the edge of the shrine, looking down into the depths below. Her exhausted Bergmite atop her lap, tired from its recent fight, looking down as well. "You think... maybe it leads down to the Everworld?" Laguna idly rambled, causing her to get a strange look from Glacia.
"I don't know, man. Giant pit? I mean, it's silly, but it's fun to think about." She'd laugh quietly, digging into her backpack for a few moments before pulling out a few fruit-gummy snacks. Sure, there was no need to eat virtual food, but it still tasted nice.
After giving Glacia her own little pack to devour, Laguna tossed her own into the pit. "Whatever legendary is here, say hello to Seta for me, huh?"

Cross-legged, she sits at the edge of the shrine, looking down into the darkness with eyes of ruby and sapphire. On her lap, a Fennekin rests, having grown all too used to its master’s antics and being way too tired after a long day of exploring the misty forest. Embers drip the ground around them, fending off the fog with their warmth, but Tuesday pays little mind to things like those, and she opens her mouth to recite familiar words:
“The world — the clustering spheres he made, The glorious light, the soothing shade, Dale, champaign, grove, and hill; The multitudinous abyss, Where secrecy remains in bliss, And wisdom hides her skill.”* The Fennekin yawns, slightly lifting his head to look up at her. <'What’s that? Sounds lame.'>
Lightly, Tuesday flicks his forehead.
"It’s part of a poem. I read it the other day and was reminded of this place. Now come on, if you’re not tired anymore we should get going. I have things to do."
Always busy, isn’t she?
Then again, when it comes to the game, by “things to do” she means more exploring.

Another day, another visit to Precipice Shrine.
By this point, a few realisations hit Tuesday: she probably should upgrade her Tall Grass HP some more, she probably should look into upgrading her trainer subclass or switching it or something, and she probably should stop wandering through the fog when pokémon can attack.
Actually, that last one is kind of fun…
"Okay, so, mmm… What to even say… Hope you’ve been doing well and please heal my pokémon quickly so I can get back out there."
Yeah, that feels right.
Well, not really, because talking to a hole in the ground seems insane, but that’s what she’s supposed to do, right? When in Rome, do as Romans do.

This wasn't home, but it was also a safe space amidst the woods. Or at least, she hoped it was. There was a sort of... ethereal presence here. And it wasn't just the Ghost she had caught earlier. There was something special about this place, she was sure of it.
Double-checking her map, it revealed this was one of the Shrines! A shrine to what, however? It didn't say. Oddly confusing, why would they not inform their players? Unless, of course, they were supposed to discover it. Very interesting.
And so she settled down to rest her feet, her playful Fennekin peeking its head over the edge, occasionally kicking a few pebbles into the hole down below.
"Oh, come on now dear. Let's not anger whatever lives in there. Rest your feet, maybe show a little respect for the shrine, and let's get on our way, shall we?" Sure enough, the fox pokemon would settle. They even closed their eyes, as if praying to some unknown diety... Did the Pokemon even know whose shrine this was? Odd things.

Still in quite the mood, H0LYN3V1L stormed up to the hole that was supposed to be a shrine and placed the pokeball down next to the edge. He considered kicking the dumb thing into the pit, but he didn’t have any other pokemon and was pretty sure that the stupid professor would give him another one. So he was stuck with the Snivy…at least for now. He was going to go back and beat up that Sneasel and then, well, he glared down at the pokeball, then he would make up his mind.
“Shrine, activate. For it is I, H0LYN3V1L, the best trainer in the world! I was given a defective pokemon, so I need you to fix it…Please.” he tacked on at the end, just in case.

Tuesday is not the sort of person who goes back on her word.
"I’m going to catch you and throw you in the precipice shrine." Is what she had said to the cantankerous little acorn when she had had enough of its attempts at aggression, and as she said, so it shall be, no matter how much this Seedot tries to resist it.
In her grasp, it attempts to wiggle itself free, kicking and screaming as loud as a “sentient” acorn can. It’s not enough. Thanks to the dense fog that surrounds it, the precipice shrine is a solitary place, and that means no one is here to stop Tuesday. Not like most people would, anyway. They would probably watch to see what happens. After all, it is just a game.
<'YOU CAN’T DO THIS TO ME!'> The Seedot yells when she extends her arms and holds it over the edge of the enormous hole, one movement away from being dropped. And, at that, the catgirl tilts her head, pointed feline ears twitching when she does so. If there is any moment when she second guess if this is a good idea, this is it, but the moment she develops even the slightest smidgen of a doubt, she also remembers what a pain this silly little pokémon had been to deal with. It had gotten in her way, it had wasted her time, and thinking of all of that, it’s involuntarily that her fingers release sparks.
Scorched, the Seedot squirms, and it’s right then that she lets go, watching it fall into the darkness of the precipice.
What thoughts cross the catgirl’s mind then?
Simple enough: something cool might happen and if there’s a bottom to this pit, she’ll hear when the Seedot reaches it, so she shouldn’t make a sound. Call it an impromptu experiment. And also revenge. Two birds, one acorn? Put that on a T-Shirt.
A moment passes, and there’s nothing.
"Well… That’s kind of lame. Hope you enjoy the gift or something, I guess. My offering to you, o’ might Precipice Shrine."
She rolls her eyes when saying that last part and after giving one last look at the darkness beneath, she turns away, stepping back into the misty forest.
Bye bye Seedot...
