"Well, I'll give it this... it's like, aptly named." Derek mumbles under his breath as he approaches the giant shrine, Apollo and Aite following alone. Apollo likes to sit on his head between his ears and Aite plays in his shadow and phases in and out of his body.
He doesn't mind, he likes the way she tingles. Like tickling that doesn't make him want to cease existing.
The light surrounds, the static moves through his body, and Derek can feel the Tall Grass HP come back to him, but it's different than the last shrine. It's like cat nip and suddenly both of his pokémon are bouncing around like wild things flailing strangely.
"...mental note not to come back to this shrine again."

This time, Finn doesn't subject Kyogre to the discomfort of being so close to the GIANT SHRINE. He releases his battered Meowstic with its static-stiff fur and removes his gloves to brush long fingers along the cool metal.
Electricity floods his veins, the smell of ozone strong in his nose.
It fades.
"Got another one for you."
He'd recently traded for a YANMA; with no interest in the dragonfly, he hurls it toward the heavens as he had the last sacrifice, allowing the shrine to claim the offering should it so choose. There's something satisfying in the gesture.

She can see the awe in the Charmander's eyes when looking up upon the huge structure that is the extremely-aptly-named Giant Shrine. It's kind of cute, honestly, but Domino doesn't blame Balerion for being amazed... it is pretty damn amazing.
It's part of why the Steppes are her favourite.
"Here. Like this." She tells the Charmander, placing a hand upon the metal. Electricity courses through her body when doing as much. The feeling isn't unpleasant.
The Charmander mimics her motion, claw meeting steel.

Manish crept up to the Shrine, making sure that he didn’t hear any vaguely ominous voices as he got closer. As useful as these Shrines were for healing, he was really starting to get the feeling they were more trouble than they were worth. Maybe. He really wondered if there was another way to heal that didn’t involve summoning up the mildly malevolent wrath of whatever creature seemed to protect the shrines. But he also wasn’t really the one to be wondering those things, after all, he still didn’t really have a grasp on the basics of UNOVR. Trying to think about hypothetical things was just too much for him. Manish let out a sigh and sat down next to the Shrine for a little while, letting the healing take over, and also really hoping that it didn’t speak to him.

The shrine was this great and mighty thing that reminded Pace of something from a video game. Made sense, considering the whole VR thing, but it definitely didn't feel like a Pokemon thing, which made it a bit of an odd, alien figure on the horizon of what otherwise could be just a regular game setting.
Nonetheless, he was forced before it, with a knocked-cold Hadid in the ball that Pace gripped in one hand. The silly thing, so eager to prove itself, had landed head-first in contact with a Yanma that laid him clear still half-asleep.
"Go a little easier this time, buddy..." Pace spoke softly, pressing a hand against the great, cold monolith. Was this how he was supposed to do it? He wasn't sure, maybe there was a password or something, but nonetheless, he'd give it a few seconds to wait and hope.

"I hate what this place does to my hair." She sighs, attempting to smooth down colourful strands that have been touched by the static of the Giant Shrine. It's impossible. She knows that; the exact same thing had happened the last time she was here, and the effect had lasted for long after she walked away from the shrine.
At least Balerion seems to like the shrine more than Domino does, putting his little sharp paws on the metal slab just as she had taught him before...

<This is not the High Tide Shrine.>
"Naw, really? I hadn't noticed." Finn's tone is acerbic, and he doesn't look at Leviathan as the Kyogre expresses its displeasure at their choice of locale. "Your shrine's already had its moment. I wanna see what this one does."
Ignoring any further grumbling from the juvenile legendary, he tugs off his gloves to place his hand against the cool, veined metal.
Electricity jolts through his bloodstream, all the hair rising on his arms.
His Pokemon seem to enjoy the sensation far less, jittery and too-alert. He suspects the Magikarp he'd collected will enjoy it least of all. Why?
Palming the two pokeballs in hand, he tosses them skyward.

So... shrines, huh? Interesting lore for a healing mechanism, and not especially up Genesis' alley, but hey, he'd do what he had to to get healed.
"What kind of Pokemon is this shrine even for?" The words were spoken for their own benefit rather than for anyone to overhear them, and Genesis wasn't really expecting an answer as he paced back and forth, uncertain if there was something special he needed to be doing, some special way to word his request for the maximum possible benefit.
"Anyway, I got pretty banged up back there, so I could use a little healing right now, whoever it is that listens to this stuff. Please and thank you and all that."

She's not big on the "big piece of metal charged with electricity" thing, but the big hole that is the Precipice Shrine gives her the creeps, and the Noonlight Shrine is like a goddamn fire hazard. So, Domino comes here, to the giant shrine.
She gives it a couple of gentle pats and internally, in a voice that can only be heard by the WorldScreen that reads her every thought, she asks for her pokémon to be healed up.
Simple as that.

It was weird, coming to a shrine when she hadn't even finished her first battle yet... but that other Trainer had had a point, it was better to come back to the battle in full health than risk whiting out because she had been impatient about things. And it would be just a quick detour, and then she'd get to go back and finish off that wild Rufflet without having to worry about her own health in the process.
It was still awkward, though, standing there at the shrine, not really knowing what to do.
"Um... heal me, please?"

Were players supposed to visit shrines this often, or was Valentine being overly cautious here?
Ah well, the answer didn't really matter in the end. Better safe than sorry, she figured, especially when whiting out could have such grave consequences. And hey, at least this time she had another Trainer making the trek with her. That was a nice change of pace.
"Heal me up, please, so I can go finish off that Rufflet! I appreciate it!"
She probably didn't really need to speak to the shrine like that, either, but it seemed like a nice gesture. A little kindness never hurt, after all.

Sarah's Duraludon tromped through the thick grasses.
As foliage gave way to veins of steel and ore-dense gravel she dismounted, approuching the immense spire. "I know now what you are yet, but I know what you do. Give me strength. Power to press forward." She took a deep breath, and air thick with sweet ozone. Her UI blinked as yellow surged back to green.
It was time for the hunt to continue.

"Who can say what I'm doing here?" Bergamot said loftily, addressing the Giant Shrine. Nearby, the dark, peaked shapes of Professor Ash's field tent circle could be seen against the yellow plains.
She hadn't whited out. Her Pokemon were unscathed, save for some scratches from a Rufflet encounter. This wasn't damage control. This was preparation.
"I'm going to war," Bergamot announced to the Giant Shrine. "Versus Mew." The progenitor of all Pokemon, some said. Was that religion, or science? Fact, or fiction?
Morgana knew the truth-- that all things were both. That's where her power came from.

"No sacrifices today," Finn says as he approaches the monolithic shrine, addressing it like an old friend. "Just gotta heal these guys up and get back to climbing the Tower."
Honestly, it's been a hot minute since he logged in. Life's been busy. He can't remember why his Pokemon were unconscious, but this ought to fix them right up.
He touches the shrine, relishing in the jolt that quickens his heartbeat.
About to step away, he frowns.
"Doesn't feel right leaving without an offering. Here, I wasn't gonna use this anyway."
Rolling his shoulders back, he pitches a pokeball toward the skies to watch the lightning claim its due.
