Damp. A cold that seeps to the bones. The scent of evergreens mingling with that of decaying leaves. Mud that softly squelches with every step, leaving behind footprints. Fog that blinds, and in its midst, light.
The moment she sees it, her steps come to a halt, and an eye the colour of rubies and one the colour of sapphires become fixated on the distant glow. They narrow, as if this will provide a better view of the strange phenomenon. Enhance. However, it does not. Using her hands to shield her gaze from non-existent sunlight also doesnāt do any good. All she can do is watch the lightā¦ and watch it go.
Itās then that a decision is made to follow.
Without hesitation, pushed forward by equal parts determination and curiosity (with just a sprinkle of foolishness), Tuesday steps forward, in the direction the glow seems to be coming from.
"And as the evening darkens, lo! how bright, Through the deep purple of the twilight air, Beams forth the sudden radiance of its light With strange, unearthly splendor in the glare."Sarah Lee

Mist swaddled the timberlands. Each leafless, fallen tree rippled with it, as if the world itself was wreathed in cold smoke, or smothered in gauze. The pale fingers clung to Sarah's hair, trailing like a wedding veil as she pushed onwards.
The Steppes had been impossibly open, and the worn paths of the Birchwild Grove was well signposted, but there was no easy way through these woods. They were made to get lost in, and they had ensnared Sarah effortlessly.
Now she wandered.
Surely if I walk in a straight line I'll hit the edge, she thought, ducking under a low bough. She felt something brush her hair and heard something hit the ground, but when she looked down there was nothing but wet leaves. Hmmmm.
Sarah brought up her map again, and was greeted with the same, bleak sight. A single, blinking light in a vast open area. Unmapped, it seemed. "Fantastic," she said out loud. She checked her bearings, and adjusted to make sure she was still heading due West, then closed her UI.
As she moved through the mist, something gleamed in the fog, flashing for an instant like a mirror catching a distant sun.
Sarah froze, eyes wide. She waited for the light to come again, and when it did she adjusted her course, heading for the light between the trees.
She stalked the light, creeping through the mist. Any thoughts of escape from this place had dissipated with that enticing gleam, and she pressed deeper into the murk, following the light.
Pause. Flash! Follow. Pause. Flash! Follow.
Where is it leading me? Sarah wondered. She took another step, and a heavy twig crunched under her foot. She stopped, breath quickening, as she became intently aware that she was not alone.
There was something else in the mist. Something right beside her.

Light fractures every time it hits a trunk, scattering through the mist all around. In the shadows, the catgirl prowls, feeling an incomprehensible need to hide from the light as she gets closer and closer to its source. Stalk. Lurk. As if not wanting to be spotted by whoever might be responsible for the gleam that passingly illuminates these dark woods.
Is her caution warranted?
What worries her?
Perhaps she has watched too many prison break movies as of late, but that does not occur to Tuesday. Sheās alert, she moves fast, she keeps her eyes on the lights, she sneaks from tree to tree, she listens closely, andā
Crunch.
A twig snaps mere metres away.
Thereās something nearby.
Or, is it someone?
Mismatched eyes widen, only then turning away from the light, and for what little they do beyond cosmetics, those cat ears of hers flick back ā as if programmed to match her state of mind. She reaches for a pokĆ©ball in case something were to attack, and then, Tuesday sees her: another woman.
āOh!ā Cat ears perk up. Relief, maybe. āFuck, I thought you were a pokĆ©mon or something. I ran into a crazy Ducklett the other day. Anywayā¦ Do you know what that light is?ā
As if on cue, the light passes by one more time. Tuesday points towards it, resisting the urge to move forward.

"How do you know I'm not a Pokemon?" Sarah challenged, grabbing a Pokeball of her own. It was a knee-jerk response to the shock of running into someone in the middle of a spook: to lash out with an aggressive, combative reply and keep the potential threat off balance. "In fact, how do I know you're not a Pokemon!?"
A second later Tuesday's name popped up on Sarah's HUD. Warily, she sent the 'human player' a party request. "I guess that settles it," she said as the request went through, though she was still not at all convinced that Tuesday wasn't just another trick of the mists.
The light passed again, dipping between the trunks and bouncing off stumps, always straying but never leaving, and Sarah got the intense impression that it was trying to lead them somewhere. "I followed it here too," Sarah said, watching it.
A hundred thoughts flashed through her head. Terrible ghost stories of the Night Walkers come for revenge, or of Will O' Wisps drawing people into swamps, never to be seen again. She kept one eye on her minimap. It was next to useless, covered 95% in fog of war, but now there was a second blip flashing beside her own marker. It made her feel a little more secure. "I think it's leading us somewhere," she said, hesitantly letting herself be pulled towards the purple light.
Amidst the warning tales, a single greedy maxium shone through. No guts no glory.
She took another step, and the purple light moved away a touch. It really was leading them somewhere. "Shall we find out?"

āWhat? Do I look like a pokĆ©mon to you?ā
The way her fluffy feline eyes move to lie flat against her golden hair probably doesnāt do much to confirm the ānot a pokĆ©monā theory, nor the sway of her tail, yet as if unaware of all these things (because she is, itās terribly easy to forget about them once growing used the āTuesday avatarā simply being this way), she acts indignant, her arms crossing over her chest.
Still, when the party request comes, Tuesday accepts it, and itās so very easy for her attention to be stolen away by the light: as if she truly were a cat, chasing after a laser pointer.
Listening to Sarah Lee, Tuesday watches the way she steps closer to the light, only for it to move away from them the second she does. Her new acquaintance ā Companion? Adventure partner? Nameless friend? ā may be onto something here: it really seems like the light is trying to lead them somewhere.
"Maybe itās some sort of hidden quest."
Exciting.
Thereās something quite like discovering hidden game features. To Tuesday, the answer is obvious:
"Hell yeah. Letās have a look!"
She steps closer to the light then, damp leaves squishing beneath her boots, and the moment she does, leaves rustle just as the light movesā¦

The pair stepped into the unknown, and as the light led them deeper into the damp woods, a thin mist began to surround them. Sarah sniffed at the cloud and wrinkled her nose. "Do you smell that?" The scent was both floral and medicinal. "It smells like a chemist's funeral." She sneezed, which got the cloying scent out of her nose for all of two or three seconds.
The trees pressed in. Broken, dead, and tangled wood that tore at her clothes, until suddenly the thin mist rushed in and swallowed the pair in a cloud of thick, soporific smoke.
Sarah coughed, and found herself struggling to keep here eyes open. "Duraludon! Chell!" she called, and two Pokemon materialize in the fog. Chell the Pignite swelled with indignant yellow flames, and she boosted Sarah up into the saddle of the massive metal dragon.
The light bounced around them, taunting them as the mist lulled them to sleep. Sarah yawned and pointed a drooping finger at the bright light. "Follow..." her eyes drooped, and she gripped the saddle hard, willing herself to stay awake.
Duraludon swung a massive steel arm, shattering deadwood left and right, and the trio lurched deeper into the mist.

Farther and farther they venture, deeper into the heart of the forest, and the farther they go, the denser the fog seems to grow. Tendrils of mist wrap around them, like the limbs of an unseen spectral creature, and all around them, the tall trees are only as if vague silhouettes ā hidden behind the mistās alabaster.
Orā¦ Is it closer to rose?
Is her gaze fooling her, or has the mist acquired a certain pink hue?
Just as this thought crosses Tuesdayās mind, the smell hits her nose: itās like sticking her face right into a bowl of potpourri, like dozens of incenses being lit all at once, like scented candles and artisanal soaps and bath bombs. Like being trapped with an old lady in an elevator. Overwhelming. Sickeningly sweet. Is this the work of a pokĆ©mon?
"I was gonna say āa grandmaās perfumeā, but that works too."
What is it? Is it the work of a pokƩmon? Something about it makes her feel uneasy, lightheaded, even if usually fragrances as strong as this one are more of a headache than anything. Before she knows it, her companion is calling out pokƩmon, so she decides to do the same, calling for her Fennekin while her gaze remains fixed on the taunting light before them.
Violet light.
Is it the mist that makes it look like that?
"Aesopā¦ See if you can light the way."
Despite the lethargy in Tuesdayās tone, the Fennekin does as instructed, flames swirling into the fog before them.

"I wouldn't go that way if I was you~"
A lilting drawl wends its way through the woods. It's a soft, southern, feathery sound, dragging itself like molasses through the mist.
A woman with eyes the color of embers appears from somewhere in the fog, a feather boa draped serpentine across her shoulders. She leans against a nearby tree, smoking from a long cigarette holder. A pistol can be seen strapped to one well-shaped thigh. Aesthetic?
Maybe.
A tooltip appears, reading C.L.A.W - THE CREED
"Don't y'all know a trap when you see one~?" Her fingernails are as virulent red as hibiscus blossoms as she plucks her wide-brimmed hat from her head. She swishes it through the air, scattering wisps of fog. "Look down."
The mists stirring around their ankles part. So focused they have been on the mysterious flashing light and the odor in the air, Tuesday and Sarah Lee haven't noticed the bodies scattering the ground.
"My former survey team," the woman says, dulcet tones lilting. "They think they're so tough, but one little puff of Dream Smoke and poof!" She nudges one leather-clad edgelord with the tip of her boot and he rolls over, muttering in his sleep.
"Claw...yeah, Claw, I can be your bad boy," he mumbles.
A line of drool traces down from the corner of his mouth, and a flicker of contempt shows on the NPC's face before she looks away, letting the mist close back over the man's face. "Too bad. I only date real bad boys," she drawls, then blows a smoke ring at Tuesday and Sarah Lee. "Or bad girls, if you prefer. So how 'bout it, ladies?"
White teeth show from between plump, ruby lips.
"Can you fight off the compulsion and catch me a Munna? I'll make it... worth your while."
CLAW (NPC) will hang around for 3 more posts. Tag her again when you have Munna in custody.

A vision in crimson rose from the mist. No monster, but a dreamlike visage who looked like she'd been formed from the erotic dreams of a thousand horny teens. "Don't y'all know a trap when you see one~?" she asked. Her voice stroked her ear like a sponge dipped in royal jelly.
Pure adrenaline pierced the dream smoke in Sarah's brain and she struggled to sit upright in the saddle. She started to sweat, and she blinked back sleep, focusing intently on the glistening lips of the gorgeous woman. She drew on all her powers of flirting, giving it her best shot. "CLAW, huh? That's one bad name you've got there. Badass that is." She winked, a bit slowly as she was still recovering from the dream smoke. Sarah dismounted Duraludon. "My name is Sarah Lee." She staggered forward and, not wanting to risk a bow, nodded politely.
The woman wanted a Munna, but Sarah had already promised hers to a woman in town. Would Ruby mind if she handed the Pokemon over to CLAW? Would Michelle mind? It was an ethical conundrum of the highest order, and one she wasn't fit to deal with in her addled state.
She'd seen a flash of pink in the swirling flames of Tuesday's Fennekin, and, yes! There it was. A beaten Munna, lodged under a fallen tree. It must have gotten trapped there when Duraludon was crashing forwards. "This one is spoken for," Sarah said, catching the little pink blob. "Non-negotiable." The words were hard to say, but they were necessary. Sarah could never break a promise.
"But the dream smoke hasn't cleared. I can catch you another one. I'm no chump hunter." She hit one of the sleeping 'bad boys' with the side of her foot. "Unless Tuesday wants to give up her claim?"

"Ay, Dios mĆo."
Tuesday isnāt usually one to show off and go āHey, look at me, I speak EspaƱolāā... Well, she is, but thatās besides the point! The point here is that sometimes reactions come from the soul, and when seeing C.L.A.W suddenly come into view as if a curvaceous apparition clad in full sexy goth attire and the biggest feather boa she has ever seen, itās suddenly as is if sheās not lethargic anymore.
Dream Mist, meet your nemesis: hormones.
But, wait! Tuesday isnāt some lame hormone-driven teenager who gets nervous talking to attractive women! Tuesday is Mars, and Mars has game (or at least thatās what he would claim).
The catgirlās pointed feline ears perk up, she stands up straight, and flips her blonde hair back, an equal parts confident and playful smirk tugging at her rosy lips when she addresses C.L.A.W in the most nonchalant of ways ā something perhaps only enhanced by the rolling Rās of her subtle yet ever-present Spanish accent.
"Thatās a sweet name you got there, CLAW. Is it an acronym for anything?" She had noticed the fact that C.L.A.Wās name is written with full stops between each letter, so it feels right to ask, even if Tuesday does suspect sheāll receive some vague answer. C.L.A.W does seem like the type of woman who likes to keep an air of mystery about her. "Iām Tuesday, but you can call me Day."
Since when is that her nickname? Since today, apparently.
Itās only when Sarah Lee steps in to capture the fallen Munna that Tuesday remembers that sheās here (no offence to her, itās just that C.L.A.W isā¦ well, you knowā¦ even the fact that sheās standing close to a huge metallic dragon can be forgotten with this kind of sudden turn of events. Is this what she looks like IRL too?! It has to be, right?! Thereās no way anyone can design an avatar this hot. Anyway, this parenthesis is getting too long, so I digress) Back to Sarah Lee! She had caught the Munna, but apparently she had already promised it to someone else? Technically, Tuesday had too, since Professor Ash had asked her to keep an eye out for them, but Ash is an NPC, and C.L.A.W here seems pretty damn realā¦
Could this be a moral dilemma?
Hell no.
Bringing out her golden pokĆ©ball, she tosses it up in the air only to catch it a few times. "Well, you know what they sayā¦ Good girls go to heaven, but bad girls go everywhere." Thatās a Mae West quote, look it up! The catgirl winks then, her gaze being only of garnets for a passing moment. āIāll get you that Munna.ā
Itās more like her Fennekin will, because subtly, beneath the rose-coloured mist, thereās a slight kick that seems to say āGet to it.ā Yes, she also kicks one of the fallen survey team members in the process, but thatās not her problem. They're the ones to be blamed for being in the way!
The vulpine pokĆ©mon doesnāt seem nearly as keen on doing as C.L.A.W wishes, and the way he rolls his eyes makes that more than clear. Yet, he does as his trainer commands, flames suddenly coating his small body as he charges forward through the mist in search of the remaining Munna. Thereās the sounds of a struggle, and soon enough, the pink fog clears, giving Tuesday a good view of the fallen Dream Eater PokĆ©mon.
As if a pitcher in a baseball game, she throws the golden pokƩball.

When the smoke clears and the Golden Pokeball rolls to a stop in a nest of dead, damp pine needles, CLAW is waiting.
Amber eyes match the lit cigarette at the end of her holder. "Well, well, well." Ruby-red lips part languidly as she makes space between them for words. "Looks like there are dependable folks who can still tell dreams from reality. How... refreshing."
CLAW's eyes slide to Sarah Lee and she gives the player a cool, appraising look.
"Course it is, sugar. Don't fret about it." There's something deliberate in the way she transfers her gaze to Tuesday , accepting the Munna with casual nonchalance, "I never negotiate. And this time, I already have what I want."
Her eyes linger on the two players. A speck of ash falls to the forest floor, ground beneath the woman's heel. Her drawl comes softly, never faltering.
"Principles... loyalty... all are powerful, when given direction."
All around the clearing, the rest of CLAW's survey team are sitting up, the source of the Dream Mist finally removed. The one Tuesday kicked staggers to his feet, groaning, followed by his befuddled comrades. Mumbled apologies fill the air, silenced by a deadly look from CLAW.
She turns back to the two of you. "Looks like our alone time's over, girls. If our... directions... cross again, why, I hope you'll call on The Creed." She shows her teeth. "If you go seeking power, why, I'll let you be my stepping-stone. But at the end of the day, CLAW will be the one on top." Red fingernails brush the top of her thigh, as if flicking away dust. "That's a promise." Her eyes said if you could be so lucky.
She uncoils from her pose against the tree, preparing to make her exit with the rest of her cronies. "It's short for Cindy, by the way." She exhales smoke, lips quirking in a secret smile. "Cindy Lou-Anne Who."
C.L.A.W (NPC) has received Munna! Sarah Lee and Tuesday have been invited to THE CREED (Guild)
