Sarah spawned in to a frigid, alpine slope, sinking deep into the powdery snow. Christmas trees dotted the landscape, towering above her and cutting high, jagged triangles from the otherwise pristine sky. The air around her was so cold it hurt, the mountainside almost as tilted as the deck of the sinking ship had been.
Ron and Chell materialized, disappearing into the snow. The three dug towards each other, and the burning bodies of her lead Pokemon melted holes in the snow.
This was just like the last two times. Same team, same enemy. Actually, one major thing was different. This time she had backup.
"Ready Laguna?" Sarah asked, digging through the snow towards the nearest tree. "We're going to need to take this first attack head on. After that, it'll be blizzards all the way to the end and that's your time to shine. They nearly knocked me out last time."
The ground beneath started to shudder, and Sarah leapt for the low branches of the pine, pulling herself up. "Brace! It's coming from underneath!"
Ron and Chell moved as far apart as possible, crouching against the melting banks of ice. Glaceon emerged like a fist from the mountain itself, punched up with colossal force and knocking Ron and Chell backwards into the snow.

The ground was torn apart where Glaceon had emerged, and the icy beast stood at the edge of the ragged pit, glaring down at their prey.
Ron and Chell scrambled back to their feet, and rushed the Glaceon. This was all standard, but Sarah noticed that they were already far lower health than before. "That's not a good sign," she muttered, looking at the bars that were nearly in yellow. But her pair of champions were undeterred. Bruised and frost-burned, they bit and pummeled their opponent with flaming jaws and burning elbows.

But experience was a deadly thing, and though this Glaceon was far stronger than the Medium one, her Pokemon were more experienced. They'd fought this Pokemon before. They knew how it would move, try to dodge, how it would snap back when hit. And they used that knowledge.

As Glaceon ducked a fiery bite, an uppercut followed, snapping its jaws left, straight into a burning headbutt.
But the wind was drawing close.
Sarah felt the pull at her parka as Glaceon sucked in a chilling, ruinous breath. She pictured icicles forming in the Pokemon's lungs.
"Here it comes!" she called to Laguna above the howl. "Get in there and STOP THAT BLIZZARD!"

- Glaceon starts the battle charging a 3d100 AoE Blizzard. This attack can be disrupted. After everyone has posted once, Glaceon will unleash the attack.
- Immediately after attacking with its AoE Blizzard, Glaceon will begin charging a second 4d100 AoE Blizzard. When knocked below 1200 HP. Glaceon will unleash this attack.
- Immediately after attacking with its AoE Blizzard, Glaceon will begin charging a third and final 6d100 AoE Blizzard. When knocked below 600 HP. Glaceon will unleash this attack.
- On a turn where Glaceon uses Blizzard it does NOT us its standard 3d50 attack.
REWARD- The reward for beating Difficult Glaceon is Glaceon (Rare), TM14 - Blizzard or a Cosmetic: Icicle Seal!
- Icicle Seal - Equip this item on a Pokeball to give one Pokemon a pale, icy appearance, as if they were a sculpture expertly chiseled from a single block of ice. This may be partial (covering only fur, horns, etc.) or completely cover your Pokemon. Icicles may also grow from their body.
- The Arena Buff for losing to to Colossal Glaceon is an Ice Heal (Reduce the damage your Pokemon takes from one Ice attack by 30)

The freezing temperatures soaked her to the bone, and the cute little skirt she wore really didn't help matters. Her teeth ached, it was so freezing cold! And yet, she pushed through. What else was she supposed to do, give up?
She had suffered worse pain during her Everworld Trials. This, she could push through. This cold she could handle.
"Ready. Leave the blizzards to me, my tanks can take care of them!" She'd shout back in response, her feet digging into the ground as her Pokemon remained in front. As the ground itself shook and the Glaceon erupted from the ground, Laguna followed suit and leaped into a tree.
Cryogonal could float, but it stood strongly by Bergmite's side, as if protective of the little guy as the ground itself erupted, knocking dirt and rocks and snow all over.

As the massive beast of a Pokemon emerged from the ground below and Sarah Lee 's Pokemon began to strike at the Glaceon proper, Laguna began shouting, pointing her Pokemon's attention at the incoming blizzards. "Alright you two, muster those frozen muscles! It's time to fight back! Stall that storm with anything you got!"
Sir Hail immediately began to whip up a Rapid Spin! Spinning faster and faster to counteract the intense strength of the blizzard about to pour from the Glaceon's lungs!
Cryogonal used Rapid Spin to Disrupt!

Glacia, meanwhile, had a slightly different strategy. The oncoming blizzard was deadly, but she was never one for sitting idly by. With a twirl, bouncing off the spinning Cryogonal, the Bergmite launched forwards with a powerful High Jump Kick, intending to knock the Glaceon's head away and force them to miss!

Whether they were ready or not, or how effective their defense was, the Blizzard was just moments away from striking.

Frozen air tugged at Sarah, pulling her every which way as Cryogonal and Glaceon fought for control of the Blizzard. Her hair whipped, tangling across her face, but she kept her eyes wide open. This is no time to look away.
Lungs full, the pull from Glaceon stopped. Its body was puffed up, chest fully inflated and ready to blow them all the way down the mountainside.
Sarah stared it dead in the face, ready for the blizzard. Her blood roared in her ears, a rushing, internal storm that made her skin sizzle. The frost on her clothes sloughed off in great, slushy chunks, and the bark under her hands crackled. "You think you've got what it takes?" she taunted, "You think you can freeze us? Then bring it!" Where was this trash-talk coming from? Was it the heat in her blood? A side-effect of maxing out Kindler? Was roasting the enemy just part and parcel of her fighting now?
"I've fought you before, and honestly? Not impressed. I'd call you 'all hot air', but you don't even have that! You're just cold air, and even then Cryogonal stole half of it! So hit me! Hit me with your best shot! But you'd better make it count!"
The Blizzard exploded from Glaceon like the roar of the mountain itself. An avalanche of sound that may have swallowed Sarah whole if Bergmite hadn't snapped Glaceon's head to the side with a powerful kick, sending the attack wide.

Barely a snowflake hit Sarah, and Ron sunk his fangs deeper into Glaceon's side, pulling the enemy to the ground.

Glaceon howled and thrashed against the burning bites, but Pignite broke off from the battle.
"Finish it!" Sarah commanded, one eye on her UI as Glaceon's HP dropped into the red.
Chell backed up, the golden swirl in her chest burning like molten gold.
"Do it! Before it gets back up!"
Chell dropped down onto all fours, swelling with golden flames. They encircled her chest, wreathed her limbs, and dripped from her mouth in long strings. She opened her mouth and bellowed, revealing a pair of long tusks. The freshly forged Emboar glared at Glaceon with burning eyes.
It poured the ground with one great trotter, tearing a ditch in the packed snow.
Charge!" Sarah yelled, her shouts steaming in the open air.
Chell bellowed, her new bulk heaving into motion as she galloped at Glaceon. Flames gathered in front of her, scorching the air as if she were a meteor hurtling back to earth.

And just like that, it was over. Finished. The Glaceon was terrifying in size, but even giants could be toppled. Laguna watched in awe, freezing up in her position in the tree as her Sarah Lee's pokemon bit and burned away at the massive Glaceon, its body tumbling down towards the trees. She didn't even have time to process their victory as it crashed into the base of the one she was hiding in.
"Augh!" Laguna shouted, suddenly being knocked from her position and falling face-first into the huge pile of snow that had piled up from where the Glaceon slid.
The first thing she noticed, was that it was freezing cold and her limbs felt like they were going numb. The second thing was the echoing laughter that spilled from her lungs as she fought to climb out of the snow bank.
Her entire body was nearly frozen, but she couldn't help but smile. They had done it, the hardest battle, and the rewards were all theirs! Sure, she didn't inflict any damage, but her Pokemon were no slouches either, defense was unparalleled! Still, she couldn't celebrate just yet. She still had one more foe to take down.
Her fingers dug into the freezing cold snow, and suddenly tossed a snowball straight towards Sarah Lee's freshly evolved Emboar! "That's for knocking me out of the tree!" She laughed yet again, clearly feeling quite giddy about their victory. "Okay, but seriously, Sarah can your Pokemon help warm us up? My limbs are going to pop off at any moment."
Her proud pokemon trotted up over towards her, and while normally she'd never turn down Bergmite's affection and cuddles, she'd have to settle for a wide grin for now. If her lips could even crack open a smile that wide right now. "Nice going, lil' gal." |
