A shadow darted across the floor, dodging mirrors and other people till it reached Manish, traveled up his leg, and rematerialized in Manish’s arms. Narrator gave Manish a toothy grin, <Wasn’t that neat? Finally, I am worthy of serving in your righteous ranks!> Manish gave Narrator a hesitant pat on the head. He really didn’t think the attack did all that much damage, despite looking pretty cool. But what did he know? Maybe it did. “Not righteous. But uh, yeah, that was really um. Neat? Also kind of scary. You uh, went all, uh. Shadowy. Very um, cool?” <I am a warrior of the chosen one! I am Manish’s silent dagger in the night, inflicting swift justice upon those that oppose the freedom of pokemon everywhere!>“Uh, right. Um. So, here’s the thing,” Manish pointed over to where Mew was still happily bouncing around the room in its little ball. “The uh, cat. Thing. It’s still, there. Want to um, do another thing?”<What.> Manish moved his hand back to mindlessly patting Narrator on the head. “Well, yeah, it’s uh, still fine? You did good though, promise! It’s just, still, um, yeah.” <Manish. I need you to do me a solid.> “Oh, um, sure?” <Oh Manish, the chosen one, one true leader of a brighter tomorrow…>“Less likely to do it now.”<Shush, I’m monologuing. As the guiding force of light in a cruel and unjust world, I will act in darkness, a tool for you to use to keep your pure, unsullied hands clean. I will be a knife in the shadows, a counterpoint to your purity, a foil, if you will, to your hero story, for I am Manish’s Bitter Malice!> Manish had toned out a while ago, as long as Narrator didn’t bring up any holy war stuff again, he was pretty content to just let the little guy rant till he wore himself out; he just kept gently patting him on the head. <Manish… Manish!> “Huh?” Manish snapped back to attention. Apparently the rant was over. “What’s up?” <That’s your queue?> “My, uh, my queue?”<Yes! I did the whole thing! You gotta just, like, tell me to do the Bitter Malice move. Come on. It’ll be cool!> “Oh. Okay, sure. Narrator, use Bitter Malice. Oh, wait, that doesn’t sound very nice. Is that not very nice?” <Too late!>Narrator once again turned into a shadow to drip out of Manish’s arms and reformed on the ground. He let the anger take him over. How dare Mew not get hurt from his previous attack? How dare Mew oppose Manish, the chosen one? How dare Mew be a cat? Narrator, fueled by his so-called righteous fury lashed out at Mew with everything he had. #70 [Tower]o9HhhUWt1d100 1d100

As the players chase and stumble their way through the Hall of Mirrors, a ping in their User Interface shows they've defeated another 10 Patrat (or Watchog, as they now are.)
Tower of Cats Floor 7: LITTERBOX. On the next floor, you find the wooden flooring covered in coarse gray sand. A heavy, perfumed stench rises from this manmade desert. Obstacles, Patrat, and mysterious lumpy objects hide within, making a minefield that the players must wade through to reach the other side. Fortunately, there are hard swathes of terrain that can be safely walked across, if you don't mind what they are.
Mew is still here, floating unencumbered over the wasteland. It seems surprised to see you're still following it.
You have defeated 70 Patrat and unlocked GLAMEOW (U)! The next reward will be unlocked at 70 Patrat.

"Damn, some pokémon are so weird…" Is Tuesday’s incredibly accurate assessment when seeing Yggy Br00ks’s Diglett attack with what may just be invisible claws.
In a fitting wrap up for the sixth floor, manish’s narrator does a dramatic monologue and attacks with the full force of its malice. At that moment, Tuesday decides she likes the little fox. Dramatic monologuing appeals to her, as some would know.
Onto floor seven it is.
Leaving mirrors behind (she makes sure to give herself one last good look in one, of course), it’s up and up stairs that Tuesday runs… all until finding herself standing upon grey sand. Grey aromatic sand. The scent of clumping cat litter is one most cat owners can easily recognize, and Mars happens to own two lovely (and terrible) cats.
"Seriously? A litter box?"
There’s a heavy sigh on her part, the Mew giggles up above, and from the golden pokéball it's her Dragonair’s long and serpentine body that comes slithering out.
"Orm! Use your THUNDER WAVE on Mew!" Tuesday commands, pointing. The Dragonair rises through the air, and undulating in the most majestic of ways, it surrounds the psychic feline as if attempting to coil around him…her… it.
The sound of the THUNDER WAVE rings through the seventh floor, and at that very moment, Tuesday is given a terrible reminder: this place is still full of Patrat.
One appears right before her, rising from within the scented sands. It throws a handful of it towards her, forcing her to shut her eyes and leaving her defenceless when the attack comes…
TUESDAY HAS WHITED OUT

For some strange reason, when Fairytale had ventured into this tower they hadn’t expected to see a legendary pokemon, let alone Mew. But, if they were being quite honest, they adored Mew. There was something very crochet-able about the cute little legendary. They wondered if the legendary pokemon was obtainable. They sure hoped so.
In any case, there was a prompt that needed fulfilling and an absolutely disgusting floor to get through. They barely hid their grimace behind their usual cheerful mask as they stepped across the kitty litter floor. This was why they never wanted a real cat. This and their tendency to get into yarn. Tangled yarn was bad enough without a cat involved.
They called out their three grass pokemon, who conveniently enough shared at least one move now. ”Padma, Aries, Bacchus! Use Leech Seed~!” They announced happily even as their noise protested the smells of this floor.

Alice had always wanted to do a Tower challenge - she just thought when it happened, she might start in one of the beginning floors. Climbing seven floors and trudging through the remains of dozens of defeated Patrat was... well, it was certainly something. This floor was completely covered in cat litter, its strong scent reminding her of her father's house. "Hey, guys!" she called out, trying to disguise how out of breath she was from running up the stairs. She was just in time to watch Tuesday collapse thanks to an attack from a Patrat. "I know I'm late to the party, but I'm avenging that." Even if it meant attacking the adorable mythical Pokémon Mew. She tossed out her Golden Pokéball to release Coraline the Galarian Corsola. Today, she was going to make her legendary debut. "Coraline, use CURSE on Mew!" She didn't care of the in-game mechanics here weren't the same as for other games. She just hoped karma would kick its butt somewhere down the line. #73 [Tower]4XAKfw|B1-100 1-100

"Ugh. This is revolting."
Finn finds himself grateful for his BETA TESTER perks as he glitches through some of the more disgusting elements of the Cat Tower's latest floor. It's disturbingly accurate, which makes him wonder which poor game designer had studied cats to the extent of making this.
A flash of pink distracts his attention.
"That thing's still here?"
He'd thought it was the boss a few floors ago, but it seemed that it was more of a persistent menace. Sighing, he sends out his brood of Rain Dance Pokémon. Yet another win for the TM choice.
"If this is clumping, we're in luck..."

Furrlicity is so glad she has magic gold powers.
Walking over gold is a lot more fun than... well, she has to wonder what the designers were thinking!
She spots Finnegan Fjord just as he's making this place even more moist. Given the mysterious, clumping action she just wrinkles her nose.
"Okay, like, dry me off, okay?" Tossing out a Charmander, she doesn't notice a Watchog rise from the ground...
Only for it to be fried by a Flamethrower.

Manish followed after Narrator as he chased Mew up to the next level along with all the other players in the tower. He received a notification letting him know and he could feel mushrooms sprout in his hair out of fear; of course it was another cat. It was always another cat. For now, though, he could ignore it and just deal with what looked like a giant litter box. “Ew. Oh, uh, oh no. This is definitely not, um, sanitary. Oh no.”<Oh. So, hey, here’s the thing. I’m always down for helping you, you know, chosen one? But see, here’s the thing. This is gross. So. Bye.> And with that, Narrator zapped back into his pokeball and Manish stared in confusion. “You can do that? Can he do that?” He asked no one in particular before digging through his pokeballs before finding the one pokemon he knew would put up with this. <What smells?> “Ryan! Hey! So uh, here’s the thing. Can I uh, well, feel free to say no. But uh, can I ride you? Maybe? Um. Please?” Ryan stared at Manish for a moment before doing his closest approximation of a shrug. <Sure, hop on.> Manish let out a sigh of relief and struggled onto Ryan’s giant shoulders, making sure to not dislodge any of the mushrooms that were growing on either of them. “So um, okay, that pink thing is uh. Important? I guess? We’re attacking it. Also there’s still the um. What are they called again?”<Patrat?>“No, the other things. Taller, meaner, maybe smarter?” As if his words summoned them, a pair of Watchog popped out of the litter between Manish and Mew. The two nodded at each other before grabbing handfuls of unfortunately clumped together piles of litter and went to chuck them at Manish and Ryan. Only through years of paranoia was Manish able to duck out of the way. “Oh no. No no no no, we’re not doing that. Nope. Nu-huh. I can’t. Ryan, can you, uh, gross. Oh man, oh no. Did it get in my hair? Ew, ugh, nope. Please, Ryan, Petal Blizzard. Oh no, um, ugh, nope I’m going to be sick.” <Please don’t while you’re on me!> Ryan called while bracing himself in the litter. <Alright, let’s see how you like it!> Ryan’s bloom glowed for a moment before sending out a barrage of pretty pink petals towards the Watchogs and Mew. #76 [Tower]swwv_iTo1d100 1d100

This was quite disgusting, she had to admit. Then again, she was learning that video game design had completely wild premises from time to time.
And sometimes, that included a kitty litter floor in the Tower of Cats. Honestly, it spoke for itself how obvious it was. It probably took the designers two seconds to think of.
Meanwhile, Murmur the Munna was lazily laughing to itself as it floated above the sand. "Oh, you hush. Don't be so smug you can float." Ruby rolled her eyes, and the Munna slowly rolled in place in mid-air. Cheeky little fellow, wasn't she? "Oh, stop. Just because we're not sleeping during our usual nap hours doesn't give you room to complain about it."
And complain they did anyways.
Her first trip into the Tower, Ruby was admittedly caught off guard as two Watchogs popped up surronding a curious little pink Pokemon with a long tail. How absolutely intriguing.
"Er, Murmur?" She spoke, the Munna's attention already hyperfocused on the enemy across the room as if waiting for a command already. Ruby, meanwhile, had written all the moves down that Murmur could do onto her notebook and was slowly flipping through them, trying to figure out which one to use.
When the Munna realized a command wasn't immediately forthcoming, the suddenly floated and rather roughly bumped into Ruby's shoulder which almost caused her to drop her notes. "O-oh! Right, uh, no time to read. Just, oh what was that one, Moonlight?"
Munna rolled their eyes this time, a wave of soft moonlight forming in the air to harm their foes.

The Tower of Cats was... a little intimidating, honestly, at least for Valentine. All the challenges were, really, and this one was no exception.
But also, this one had Mew in it, and Valentine had always had a soft spot for that little pink cat Pokemon. If she could do something to please her favorite of the Legendaries out there, then she was willing to do it, intimidating challenge or no! And as luck would have it, the latest prompt was something she could accomplish easily enough.
"Nova, honey?"
The Rowlet looked up at Valentine with wide eyes after hearing her name called.
"Can you use Astonish for me? Or Shadow Sneak. Either one, really, it just has to be a Ghost-type move, and I know both of those are..."
Nova was already starting to sneak into the shadows that lined the edges of the Tower as Valentine finished her rambling, and as the Rowlet popped back out from those same shadows in a surprise attack against her foes, Valentine's face broke into a wide smile.

Cats made him sneeze. So that's why he tended to avoid them. Yes they were cute and yes they had fluffy tails. But Amanita really hated sneezing. It was kind of gross. So ending up in a place called 'Cat Tower' couldn't be any worse. He'd heard about it from manish who had hated the place and he was pretty sure it was because Manish hated cats. Valid and solid reasoning if he was being honest. "Champignon uh... Use... Flame Charge?"But like all of his brilliant ideas. They weren't thought through very well. Flame Charge was a very easy to read move. With the flames curling up around and about him and essentially the pig only being able to move in one direction. So of course that meant as the little piggy charged up and into the market... The Mew could just side step it. Very easily in fact. Which was disappointing and extremely embarrassing. Especially since Manish was... still here. NEXT PROMPT: [Tower] dsXrBccE1-100 1-100

Furrlicity stood with his hands on his hips. He took a deep breath like a woodsman might when stepping into the forest.
"That was a bad idea." Was coughed out, a hand clamping over his nose.
Furrlicity fucking loved cats. So much. He spoiled Finnegan Fjord's Finn whenever he could and had his own little menace named Sprinkles. Litterpans were one of his chores, which he diligently scooped every day.
This smell was rough.
"Ugh... let's get out of here fast! Apple, Fire Spin!" The Vulpix was sent out. She sank into the litter, making a disgusted noise. But she still sneezed out a Fire Spin.

The Litterbox is cleared quickly (as I'm sure the cats appreciate) and players may advance to the penultimate floor, where Patrat and Watchog have united to make their almost-final-stand.
Tower of Cats Floor 8: MOUSETRAP. Kitty litter falls off your shoes as you leave Floor 7 behind, advancing onto a floor that creaks slightly underfoot like cardboard. Casting your eyes upwards, you may notice an array of giant plastic traps such as falling cages, springboards, giant hammers, gear-grinders, and other various Rube Golberg-esque devices (see the board game). The items are clearly here for you to trap Patrat, but be careful the clever Patrat don't trap you first.
Mew is looking hale and hearty, its protective bubble demonstrating the slightly springy elasticity of fresh mochi.
You have defeated 80 Patrat and unlocked LITLEO (U)! The next reward (A.Meowth) will be unlocked at 80 Patrat.

There is an electronic twist in the air, and Codie appears, floating next to one of the hanging, bell-shaped cages. His pixel eyes fixate on the floating, rubbery cat, and twin beams of customer service light scan Mew's noseprint.
Strings of numbers flow down behind Codie's eyes as he assesses the data. "This creature's health exceeds acceptable levels," he buzzes, "commencing manual adjustment."
With a zip, and a sound like a sped-up dialup modem connecting to the internet, Codie flies a tight circle around the Mew, and its health drops drastically.
"Health is now within acceptable levels, bzzzt. Enjoy your battle."

"What the fuck is a Sinnoh Pokémon?"
<A Pokemon from the Sinnoh region.>
"That doesn't help," he complains, as he slides down a twisting track to escape a horde of angry Patrat. Kyogre follows much more gracefully, the legend's fins fanning out to slow its descent.
<The false Emperor will do.>
"Got it. Thanks."
Emperor glares at Leviathan when he's released from captivity; the Piplup has always been prone to jealousy, and the Kyogre with its massively inflated ego and penchant for dismissing the penguin's own importance to Finn's team is the worst offender.
Finn ignores his pouting, and sets him down at the end of a springboard.
"Have a nice flight."
Kyogre lands on the other end, sending Emperor flying toward their Patrat foe.
