[ti]spawn[/ti]Cotton Doesn't Burn

Sarah's blazing eyes surveyed the crater, looking for movement amidst the boiling mud pools and crumpled stacks of sizzling basalt.

"Keep your eyes peeled," she ordered Quincy, who was busy trying not to faint from heatstroke.

"As...as you say," he gasped, giving the alien world around him a cursory glance. Everything was hot and brown and he missed the lush open grassland.

They stalked the crater, hunting for something, Quincy knew not what.

They peeked into granite grottoes, surveyed basalt basins, steaming streets, and burning backtracks. The whole time Sarah felt quite comfortable. She was a Kindler. Tier 5 no less. She didn't feel heat. She was heat, and the only impact of the rising steam was that her black feather cape swirled more dramatically than usual.

Quincy had almost passed out.

"How are tou faring now?" Sarah asked, tone rising in genuine curiosity.

Quincy slumped against a rock, which was a terrible idea as the stone itself was about 200 degree. "Yeowww!" He was back on his feet in an instant, putting on a brave face. "Well, I'm sure it's hotter inside the volcano, milady. I will survive, I'm sure."

Sarah glared down at him, her expression hard. "I see." She was about to say something else, but stopped herself. "Let's push on then."

They passed a group of Charmanders lounging on a sizzling rock, and Quincy just shook his head in disgust. Not at the lazy lizard, no. He just found it hard to believe that such terrible creatures could enjoy the heat! They were already on fire, how could they possibly enjoy sitting on a burning rock? Didn't all that flame and smoke just make them itch for a bath?

"There. Fight that," Sarah said, pointing to a pool of magma.

Quincy just stared at it, unsure what to do.

"Zap it." Sarah said flatly.

"But it's...it's nothing! And it's covered in fire! And this whole place is just too hot!"
