"We just gotta get through the ring yeah? Fuckin bet! God what do they think we are? Baby birds?" Orion would clap both members of his team on the shoulder, a grin beaming from ear to ear bright enough to get fined for shining a laser pointer at an airplane with. "I don't know much about how your machines are supposed to work or whatnot, but mine is pretty simple yeah? Just like at the start of a race in sonic riders, I probably gotta do like a little running start and then hop on it like some cool skate trick."
Orion was no stranger to cool skate tricks, he'd spent many a hot summer day busting ass, scaping knees, and eating shit on the hot Nevada concrete. Giving them a one handed thumbs up he'd backpedal a bit and the turn around, cranking the engine of his board to engine mode. "I'll like...take off first and get stable so then I can be in the air and help you guys get stable on your take offs. Once we're all flying cool we can do some blue angels shit towards the ring eh?" The fighter called over his shoulder. Satisfied his team would follow through on his totally sick plans, Orion would do a quick preflight checklist in his head. He'd opted for his magnetic boots for extra stick potential, and fished out a sick pair of Aviators from his cosmetic inventory (he was starting to develop a bad habit of perusing the cosmetic shop for this game too much) and clearly that was it. No need to check the wind, or flight conditions, or you know, understand how the brakes worked.
No siree bob.
Instead the foolish fighter charged forward down a clear path, gaining some impressive speed (for clunky iron boots) as he did so, and then with all the grace forged by hundreds of failed attempts, he managed to jump up and get onto the board in one fluid motion. It was kinda like a skateboard, if instead of wheels you had the constant feedback of jets of air propelling you both upwards and forwards. He wibled and wobbled for a moment, but managed to wheel his board back towards his team and shot them both a thumbs up as he hit the gas and made his way back to them, letting the wind run through his hair.
"Damn guys! This is Awe-" the board picked up speed as he continued to press on the gas, and quickly the fighter began to accelerate, forcing him to dart past both Bee and Foxy at ludicrous speed. Another group of players dove out of the way to avoid Orion as he nearly bowled them over, and soon the fighter found himself forcing the nose of the board upwards, instinctually as a skateboarder might to stop or slow down.
But nay nay, good reader.
Instead he found himself darting off into the sky at both high speed AND in the wrong direction, and Orion would call out through the party voice chat system.
"So uh...how the fuck do I pump the brakes on this thing? Cause if I don't brake soon, I might break on something..."

#s://cdn~discordapp~com/attachments/1114138222038106173/1114206910871261274/kallisto3~jpg Admittedly, Kallisto was rather confused as to how they were going to train his sole Pokemon to fly, since penguins were flightless birds, but hey, if they could perform a miracle, that would be much appreciated. Anyway, back to the task at hand: the man who didn't seem to have the best eyesight was going to ride a bike to fly. That sounded like a terrible idea. How did one steer properly with a bike that could fly? He knew this was a game, but there were no keyboard inputs in virtual reality. ❝Sure.❞ he replied, unable to hide the uncertainty in his voice as he watched the man climb on the funky contraption.
Pedals and body weight. Before Kallisto knew it, he started to move, and then to his shock, the bike started to leave the safety of the ground. Another player was about to move to his path, but thankfully swooped away just in the nick of time. Cursing under his breath, he figured that he should also get to the air and figure out how to work his contraption, just so that he could also put a hand on the man's bike.
❝Keep that pace. You need to get higher to reach the ring.❞ he shouted with a bit of a scowl. The man then faced Morpheus , ❝We should follow him. The event likely relies on all three of us getting through those birds.❞
Kallisto turned on the UI for the contraption, looking at the controls the game provided. It seemed he had to hit these buttons to control it. Thrust, direction...okay, at least this one had some kind of "keyboard" input after all. It also didn't need a running start, though once he got his hands hovering over the buttons, he did a bit of a sprint before jumping up in the air and letting the wings spread. While he could certainly feel the weight on his back, once it was powered up, he found that the weight became what was supporting him as his feet left the ground. He cursed again, but he couldn't hide his excitement. Damn, technology nowadays was certainly something else..!
❝Oi! The right, turn to the right!❞ he shouted to Zac, completely unable to keep his persona down with how novel the experience was.

Morpheus stared at the female NPC as he gave up his Poke Balls and Pokemon to her. This was his first time meeting CLAW and yet, she gave him mixed feelings about her. Regardless, if anyone could help with Snivy's attitude problem, then it would be her. Besides, he has another problem to take care of as he adjusted his jetpack. Namely trying to deal with a certain red-headed man's recklessness.
"Yes, it is. Just...keep your eyes on the sky and don't let go of the handlebars." He turned to @kallisto next. "Good idea. Besides, I can't trust that guy flying all by himself."
They say that inexperience would lead them to danger. But for Morpheus, he felt like watching Buzzster Hooperham trying to make his bike copter work was like watching a monkey fixing a car. And for him, his awareness made him feel cautious not only of his surroundings but also himself and his jetpack.
"Alright, let's do this."
With a deep breath, he activated his UI and took off alongside his teammates. Unlike his teammates, Morpheus relied mostly on his jetpack wings, and out of all of them, his first flight was more rough than usual. He could hear steam coming out from his jetpack and controlling it was like taming a wild horse. However, complicating his flight further was seeing Zac seemingly going crazy with his bike copter. Flying through the Ducklett ring seemed easy on paper, but he feared there was no way they could accomplish it with this rocky teamwork, so he needed to intervene.
"Hey! Stop goofing around! Remember what I said! Calm down and keep your eyes on the sky. You, too, vampire guy."
All that was left was pray they would pass through the ring with no issues.

Verai did as requested, saying nothing to Kazuki's running commentary. "You don't have any on you, do you?" He finally asked, sounding very nearly serious for a second.
When Kaz stepped away to find his own device, Verai tried to figure out how this one... worked. He'd gotten no instructions, either auditory or mercifully visual. He was... left in the dark.
But- maybe they didn't need instructions after all. A thought, and the wings flared, nearly toppling him off-balance as they did so. And trying to self correct only led to the wings flaring to overcorrect- it was exhausting.
An ear twisted at Kazuki's call of kid, fixing more solidly at the bright response. Should someone so young be flying like this?
"... sure," Verai said, answering for Kazuki, and offering a soft smile to Jinx. "We'd love to have you with us." It would be safer that way, wouldn't it? With someone to watch after her?
Cygnus started up again, explaining the challenge. Verai quickly realized the problem. Primary being that he couldn't see the goal- which was expected. Secondly... he couldn't hear it, either. Everyone was talking, machines whiring and humming, sounds bouncing everywhere- Everything was left muddled.
"... Kazuki." He had to find a way to ask without explaining, because the explanation sounded.... ludicrous. I need you t go first because I can see you, thanks to whatever you've done to yourself. "You and Jinx go first- I'll follow behind."

Adarsa paused in making a sour face at Cygnus to... look over at Mars. Who had gone hyperfocused on some.... Jessica Rabbit woman. Who he was then flirting with.
Mars then tried to talk to them again, or whatever, but Adarsa had gone Full Bastard mode, and simply was no longer listening.
Let me know if you need any help with those Pokémon.
Adarsa huffed, fumbling with the little hand controls. "C'mon then, Saint," He grumbled. "Let's not make Mars look bad."
Whoever she was- he hated that woman.
Adarsa finally managed to get himself situated- only to blast himself upwards far faster than he had meant to, yelping in panic.

In the truest embodiment of 'my work here is done', Muin returns his attention to the machines around them as soon as his decision is spoken, leaving ibis to be his extrovert self and recruit Silvermoon to join their team. He decides to go for a belt, because, honestly... everything else looks too flashy and overly complicated for his taste. He doubts a belt will be much simpler, but at least it's closer to his center of gravity. Plus, Cygnus is wearing one, so surely they must work, no? Muin hopes so, at least.Soon enough, instructions are being given, leaving time only for a simple "Hello, it's good to meet you." greeting to their new teammate before they're told to take flight. It's... about as disorienting as he had expected, but of course, Muin will always be one to make sure his perfect mask of composure remains unbreakable... no matter how much he may be panicking within. This is fine. He tells himself, almost glaring at ibis for putting him through this. How in the world can anyone find any of this fun? It's dizzying, and the fact that the air gets thinner and thinner with the higher they go isn't helping. "So... we just go through the Ducklett ring?" Sounds easy enough in theory, but how does one stop going up and instead move horizontally? Cygnus had turned some dials and made it look easy, but he hadn't given any details. Why don't people ever give details?

M'Foxy cast her new bros a grin. "We've fucking got this." The vibes were immaculate, orioncayge and Big Bee experienced in the game, and M'Fox experienced in everything else, probably.
Obligingly, she stepped back to let orion get his bearings, and glanced over at Big Bee. "That looks so cool- like that power helmet from the Dungeons and Dr-"
She was cut off as orion proceeded to simply explode past them, and also nearly take out some children. Nice.
"Dude!!!" She shouted upwards. Bro was gonna hit orbit if no one grabbed him. Or one of the big electric metal spikes. M'Foxy grabbed the glider proper- and blinked as little air currents and puffs appeared around the map.
Sick. She could Avatar this. M'Fox threw herself at the nearest Pillar of Go Up, letting the gider catch the air and shoot upwards, and began daisy-chaining her way towards her wayward broseph, because if they were gonna crash into something and die, they were gonna do it as a team.
"Orion!" She yelled, trusting the ui to make sure he heard over the wind. "It's not the angle- its the vibe!" Like, if she angled up she'd slow down, but she didn't have rockets straped to her, which was issue number one. It wasn't like he could hold shift so.... he had to feel the slowdown, despite going so fast. Easy.

Jinx hadn't especially been planning on hesitating once their new goal was announced, so being told to go on ahead suited her just fine, and she didn't stop to think about why the man might have asked for that or whether there was some hidden meaning to his words. Besides, she was a kid in here, right? And kids were known for their boundless energy, after all--so it made sense that she went first!
(The implication of "You and Jinx got first", that the two should be moving together in some way, was entirely lost on her in her enthusiasm.)
"Alright, let's see here... how do I..."
Unlike her teammate, her wings didn't move when she merely thought about moving them, so a little experimentation was necessary. First she tried flapping her arms, almost like she was doing the chicken dance, but no dice. Then she jumped in the air-
-oh boy, that did the trick and then some.
Jinx hadn't been paying attention to her arm movements as she jumped, and the wings sent her on an awkward diagonal path until she thought to keep both arms steady. Then she tried to correct and... flew just as far to the other side.
"Up" and "down" were straightforward enough, as were going from side to side, but amusingly enough, it took Jinx a moment to figure out how to move forward.
And then... her arms splayed in front of her, her head leaning forward, feeling a little like Superman but really more like some incompetent idiot about to be busted by Superman, she headed towards the goal, a soft giggle sneaking out of her throat as she did so.
This was tricky, and her path still wasn't quite on target, but flying really did live up to all the hype.
"Kazuki! Uh... other guy!" Had the other guy said his name? Jinx didn't think so. "This way!"

Silvermoon offered Muin a smile when they approached, but he said very little- nothing, in fact, beyond a neutral, rote greeting. Silvermoon felt their expression falter further, but tried to keep their spirits up.
It was easier when Cygnus started talking again, and CLAW appeared, seemingly harassing the man before leaving... with their pokemon. Silvermoon hesitated, before doing whatever everyone else had and handed the woman their pokeballs. Hopefully they'd all be alright...
It was... a strange group they were in. Muin was like a statue, almost, cool and perfect. Detatched? Like a prince, or something. ibis seemed entirely different. He at least seemed like he was having fun...
"Um... I think so." Silvermoon said, glancing towards Cygnus again. He'd said 'goal,' and... implied the ducklett circle was the goal. It was so far though...
But they had to try, right?
Silvermoon held up the little glider- for a little videdo to pop up in the corner of their ui, showing how to use it. Hold it above their head, crouch, do... something... and then shoot off into the sky and fly forward.
Crystal clear, naturally.
Making sure they weren't going to accidentally take out their teammates, Silvermoon held up the glider and crouched- and could feel it, somehow, gathering energy. Silvermoon waited a moment and just... let it go-
And a swirl of wind carried them high up into the air- which was terrifying- but-
Silvermoon let out a delighted laugh. Everything was so pretty from up here...

“I offered,” Kazuki huffs, but stoops down to aid in securing the wings around Jinx . They were just as intricate as the pair Verai wore, except with an almost entirely different design– and it had lights. And spikes.
He raises a brow, but he’s not going to bar a child from an important learning experience. “Alright, mini-flying death trap is secured. You’re all set to go, kid.”
And before he even gets another word in, Verai accepts Jinx into their group which– great, now raid prep has turned into babysitting duty. Then again, this entire game has been mostly babysitting duty.
Cygnus goes onto the next phase of the demonstration, of which only half manages to enter the dubious sludge that is Kazuki’s brain– at least until his guild leader walks into the mix. Kazuki chuckles, before sticking his fingers in his mouth and wolf-whistling along with the cheers and hollers of the other Creeds, one of which is Tuesday who’s already putting the moves on her. When the guild leader comes to collect his spare pokemon, he hands her the ball containing his Dragonair, figuring it will benefit from the flight lesson, else learn how to hijack planes, knowing the cunning widow.
Now all that’s left is to jump through hoops.
He’s fiddling with his belt when Verai calls his attention. “What?” He looks up, puzzled and a little irritated because figuring out his machine is taking more than two brain cells. He squints at Verai’s instruction before it dawns on him.
“Oh, sure, we’ll go first, and leave the blind guy to fly alone in the back with new equipment.” Pressing a button on his belt causes it to light up, his body being surrounded by a soft glow. His feet begin floating an inch off the grass.
Jinx is already several steps ahead of them. After a brief little chicken dance and a brave jump, she’s airborne, having to fend off some strange angles before settling in a Superman pose towards the circle of ducks.
Kazuki grabs Verai’s hand. “Alright, now how to…“ He’s already flying, technically, even if it’s just levitating off the ground. Trying to wiggle his foot kind of drags him a few inches higher, but it’s still not enough for proper acceleration. Maybe he should’ve nabbed the boots too?
Hmm.
For science, he sets his fist on fire, and then throws a punch into the earth. Without any sort of limitation, the resulting force is matched to take down Duraludon.
The explosion sends them rocketing into the heavens, straight toward Jinx.
Kazuki USED SPONTANEOUS COMBUSTION!

Jinx was finally starting to get the hang of this flying thing, and she was looking at the goal, which was straight ahead-
-and decidedly not looking at what her teammates were up to, so the sudden explosion very much caught her by surprise.
It was bright and loud and she had not prepared for this and-
One arm went up, instinctively, to protect herself from the blast, and her wings responded by sending her into a wild spiral upwards, which did have the benefit of getting her away from the explosion before she could get struck by anything directly, but only at the cost of being way higher up than she had anticipated.
Jinx hadn't meant to scream.
She wasn't afraid of heights, really, but looking down and knowing that all that was between her and the ground was thin air and a pair of cobbled-together wings was... not terribly reassuring. Also all this spinning made her stomach feel a little queasy, and the last thing she needed was to let loose the contents of her stomach on everybody below her.
A deep breath, then another, and Jinx worked to reassess her situation.
Arms lowered. Head lowered. Point towards the ground...
...but not that fast...
It could have been worse, all in all. By the time Jinx managed to reach something of a standstill, she was actually quite close to the goalpost. But also her eyes were tearing up a little from all the wind hitting her in the face, and she still had a pit in her stomach, and she didn't trust herself to get much closer without screwing something else up along the way.
Another deep breath, and Jinx finally thought to regroup with her teammates... sort of.
"What was THAT all about?"

He had actually picked out a flying scooter since as cool as the hoverboard was, he was terrified with the idea of having no handles or anything to hold onto. Unfortunately someone already got the fancy solar sail that reminded him of a certain animated movie he watched, but no matter, he hoped that this one would be easier to control. He let out a small whine though at his Pokemon being taken away from him - he wanted them to experience flying too! Or maybe have Cliff or Pond up there at least in case something went wrong! (Not like he could hang onto a Pidove nor Mantyke anyway, they would drop with his weight, but still!)
So he was at this with his teammates instead. And they had to fly through the ring of Ducklett (the ring of water, but might as well be a ring of fire anyway). ❝Ugh okay, let's not crash and burn, kids! I'll go first, but you should already start trying the contraptions you picked. Don't soar too high yet though!❞ he wasn't sure if he was the most qualified to watch over them, but he wasn't going to just let something go wrong on his watch. An explosion could already be heard nearby, which only made his anxiety shoot up. Stepping on the scooter and trying to find his balance, he thanked his lucky stars that the buttons seemed simple enough to work with. Though, he did end up yelping when it lurched forward; it wasn't exactly a smooth ride.
Okay, you can do this, Killian! Calibrating the controls, he kept glancing back at Yggy Br00ks and Aero before trying to properly start the scooter. He let out a yell when the acceleration jumped quickly; its wheels sticking to the ground before picking up enough speed to push itself up in the air, much like a little, overpowered airplane. Actually, he misinterpreted - those wheels were actually something more like fans, he realized, whirring as they propelled him up in the air, and he almost teetered and fell over before correcting his balance. To say his heart was pounding was an understatement. Once he felt like he was steady in the air, he moved back closer to the ground to see how his teammates were doing, making sure to keep the contraption afloat so there was no need to completely turn it off.

Verai rolled his eyes. At least Kazuki was feeling himself...
He wasn't paying too much attention, simply waiting for Kazuki to figure out how to get going, so Verai could follow after him- He could hear Jinx ahead, distantly, but was already starting to lose her in the noise. Kaz grabbed his hand- which did get his attention. It was... not what he expected. Surely Kaz would have grabbed him by the wrist, or arm, but hand?
Any perceived sentimentality or intimacy was lost at a sudden rush of heat, and then an explosion.
"Kazuki-" The wind was whipping too fast- he had no sense of direction or orientation, just Kazuki ahead with their hands still together. With a growl, he yanked as hard as he could, grabbing Kazuki with his other hand and holding him tight, trying to force his wings open to get them to stop-
It was a sudden mess, buffeting them and sending them turning about. But soon enough the wind, though still strong, eased gently, carrying instead of fighting. "What the fuck is wrong with you?" Verai hissed, shifting his grip on Kazuki to not drop him.
He considered it, though.

There was never any discussion of question as to whether Morgana was part of their team. She was the paprika to their ketchup and mustard. The white tiger to their Signfreid and Roy. The Pentagon to their Twin Towers. The switch knife in the back pocket of their skinny jeans.
In short, she was indispensable yet thoroughly unpredictable.
"Let's see now," Sarah said, checking that her belt was tight enough for the fifth time. "If I just..." she hesitantly clicked the dial on her belt a single notch, and noticed that she felt lighter. She took a running jump and sailed a good ten meters before landing. "One more then." She clicked another notch, jumped again, and kept going, sailing without control in the approximate direction of the Ducklett circle.
"Not to alarm anyone, but I may require some course correction," she called down to her team. She fiddled with the compass on her belt, but only drifted further off course. "No rush, but, well, mild haste would be appreciated."

While he’s glad some semblance of an introduction is accomplished, Saint still doesn’t find himself comfortable in the presence of his new team. He refuses Tuesday’s offer of assistance, preferring to figure out the mechanics of his glider himself, though he pales as she and starlitlover debate over whether the lesson is actually a challenge or some kind of– blind date event?
Being able to turn his attention back to their instructor is a godsend. CLAW terrifies him, lowkey, and he almost drops his pokeballs as he hands them over like the victim of a bank robbery, but he can’t deny being excited to fly after seeing Cygnus’ demonstration.
Tuesday takes the lead, ascending seamlessly, though she hangs back out of consideration for the rest of them. Saint nods, about to get started when he hears Starlitlover mention his name, and someone called Mars?
Saint pauses, big eyes flitting between his teammates as the gears in his head turn. Is Mars what he calls Tuesday? Did they know each other? Is that baggage he’s detecting?
He takes a deep breath and continues setting up his glider. No, no, it couldn’t be. Sure, he spent a decade of his life enduring his mother’s crippling addiction to Filipino soap operas, but that didn’t mean the same histrionics would occur here, on this, the day of his wondrous little flight adventure.
The Masquerain glider is gorgeous, and quite safe, as its model is more reminiscent of a rudimentary sailplane than a hang glider. Sitting inside it feels like taking a ride in a weather balloon. He tests out the control stick and a number of levers and buttons until the little rudders turn, and achieves lift-off.
And that is when he hears a sharp yelp, and glances out of his machine to see a burst of starry glitter where his teammate used to be.
“Ah– AH!” He sticks his head out, looking up to the sky. “Tuesday! TUESDAY! HE’S FALLING!” He tries to speed up, but the glider can’t move fast enough.
