Patch 0.1 is here, and with it, the opening of Beta Island! This glorious, sunlit isle is just a hop, skip and a shipwreck away from the Asper mainland, and is full of lush, untextured jungle, buggy beaches, and Pokemon that run according to their programming.

Well, probably. Jinx wasn't here to play basketball herself, at least, and neither were her Pokemon, at least for the time being. It wasn't even a real game they were playing right now, just a training session that the public could sit in on if they wanted. She just wanted something to watch in the background as she hung out waiting for her egg to hatch. How long did eggs take to hatch, anyway? Hadn't she had this one since the middle of winter? What was it even waiting for? Whatever. Jinx had a busload of rhetorical questions she could be asking about her egg's hatching or lack thereof, but that and 25 Bytes would buy you an evolution, or however they'd phrase the old saying in here. Point was, her speculation wasn't actually getting her anywhere... but neither was whatever she had been doing, clearly. Maybe part of Jinx had hoped that all the action and things bouncing around would help jostle her egg into action. Perhaps she had just been desperate for something to distract her from the questions still bouncing around in her brain about how this all worked. Regardless, though it was an odd place for an egg, Jinx figured it was worth a shot.

However, that didn't mean he can avoid it for long. He was already stressed out from school work and he didn't want to add his worries on the upcoming raid. So he decided to break his routine for today and wander around the settlement in his attempt to tour around. He eventually found himself in some sort of a basketball court where he met a woman who seemed to be cradling an egg he had never seen before. He knew he shouldn't pry on others' privacy, but he was too curious for his own good and there were times he would ignore his own advice to satisfy it. Besides, he had nothing to do today other than earn Bytes and catch Pokemon and he didn't want to be that lone player who didn't interact with many players. "How odd you brought a strange egg in the middle of a basketball court," Morpheus said as he approached the lady named Jinx. "Mind telling me what you're doing here?"

"This egg just doesn't seem to be hatching all that fast, so I figured might as well go somewhere I can watch something else happening while I wait, right? And maybe all the, uh, bouncing around will help jostle it into moving. Unless it's a dud. Is that even possible? Do they have dud eggs in here?" Yeah, she was rambling a bit, but to Jinx at least, it was a legitimate question. Sure, she'd never heard of an egg not hatching in the game before, but maybe she just hadn't been paying attention, or hadn't been looking in the right places. And this egg really didn't seem like it was in any hurry to hatch... Jinx was half-tempted to poke the thing open just to settle the issue, but even she knew that was a bad idea... Morpheus
