WORLD EVENT: THUNDERFALL RAIDWhat cares these roarers for the name of king?System Admin:ProfessorAsh meets you in front of Area D, and the D evidently stands for Duraludon. The creatures are arranged in circle around a huge lightning rod, looking like a new-age Stonehenge. System Admin:Cygnus walks between the Pokemon, making precise changes to their footing and angling as the static in the air builds, pinging off their steely hides.
Past Area D is Area E: the Elevator. The circular construction of hard light, Klink, and Magnemite is large enough to fit hundreds of players. Broad, mobile, and controlled from the ground below, it's the perfect platform for your aerial battle.
As the crowd builds around the platform Ash looks to the sky, noting the approaching thunderhead. The black clouds stampede across the sky like bison, pouring rain and cracking whips of silver lightning. She checks her watch one last time. "Zapdos will be above us in eight minutes," she says, voice amplified by speakers set into the platform. "This elevator will launch in three. If you aren't ready by then, we will be forced to leave without you."
The crowd of trainers spreads out across the platform and settles into place, making last minute adjustments to their team.
The five minute warning alert dings in everyone's UI and a claxon sounds. Ash nods to one of the ground crew, and the platform rises into the air.
As air rushes past you and the temperature drops, a projection of Ash appears in the center of the platform. The Professor herself remains on the ground, but her words are relayed to you through the speakers. "Our one and only objective is the retrieval of the Giant Shrine." Her hologram moves through the crowd. Trainers step out of the way as her intangible form paces slowly across the platform. "This is only a battle because it needs to be. We need The Giant Shrine to cleanse Mistra, and if Zapdos won't drop it willingly, then we are forced to take it from him."
"Bring Zapdos down to an altitude where we can fire the magnet beam. Cygnus has guaranteed me that it is strong enough to pull the shrine back down to earth."
A second hologram appears beside Ash: Cygnus. "And stay on the platform! It's fitted with all sorts of helpful beams that'll supercharge your Pokemon."
Cygnus disappears, leaving Ash alone once more. She looks exhausted, like a porcelain dam holding back a flood of caffeine and forty hours without sleep. "I cannot overstate the importance of retrieving that shrine. Without some hope of forward progress, my... research... will be at an end." She stops, letting those words sink in. "We cannot fail."
The platform reaches altitude, level with the approaching storm clouds, and Ash's hologram blinks out of sight. "Good luck, trainers," she says through the speakers.
Lightning shatters the illusion of readiness, and a creature of immense size emerges from the sky. Massive chains trail from his legs, the remnants of an imprisonment best forgotten.
There are no words to describe the scale of Zapdos.
Zapdos is a natural phenomenon more than he is Pokemon. Infused with lightning, he is the boss and the battlefield. He wields the skyscraper-sized Giant Shrine like a staff, clutched in his gargantuan talons.
"So humanity comes," he rasps, a sound like nails and rust that hisses through the clouds as if they were made of sandpaper. It's a rough voice, a raw voice, the kind that has broken itself many times over. "What a surprise. I thought I would have more time."
He roars towards you, thunder booming with every beat of his wings, and you are engulfed by the storm.

Mechanical (Easy)ZONE A This was it, this was H0LYN3V1Lâs chance to be cool, be a hero, be everything the UNOVR game description claimed he would be. And he would be damned if he didnât come out on top, quite literally it seemed as the elevator they were on kept going up. And up. And up. The cool fight music H0LYN3V1L was humming to himself was starting to be drowned out by the rushing wind around them.
It was in that moment H0LYN3V1L learned something new about himself: a fear of heights. A small whimper escaped his throat and his eyes grew wide. Oh fuck they were so high up. Vertigo hit him hard and it was only through his sheer force of fake bravado that he remained standing.
<Yo kid, you doing okay?> Snivy whispered in his ear. H0LYN3V1L jumped slightly, completely forgetting that he his only three pokemon were using him as a convenient perch. How dignified.
He swallowed down what was probably just bile and nerves and gave a very half hearted smirk. âOkay? Am I okay? Pfft, what a dumb question. Really. Thatâs even, pah, I canât even describe, I mean, okay? Am I okay?â
Snivy shot a look to Fletching and Capsakid. <Yeah, uh, super convincing.>
Well that just wouldnât do, Snivyâs condescending tone was just what H0LYN3V1L needed to pull himself out of the visions of his poor, squishy body bouncing off the ground from this height.
âI am! In fact, Iâm better than okay. Iâm great even! Iâm the fucking best there ever was, okay? And Iâll prove it!â He shrieked.
<Ha, you sure about that, shortstack? âCause I say this with nothing but love in my heart, you are kinda looking like the littlest fish in this very large pond.> Fletching said, hopping on top of his head.
H0LYN3V1L took a moment to look at the group around him andâŚwellâŚsure there were some pretty strong looking people also going into the raid, but that didnât mean shit! People who looked strong were weak all the time. Not him though, no, he already read the guide to this fight on Reddit, he was so prepared.
âHey! I am the strongest one here! Just because I donât have, like, stupid probably glitched pokemon doesnât mean anything. I worked hard to be this strong, this glorious; I am a hero!â H0LYN3V1L smacked his hands to his hips in what he thought was a very heroic pose.
<Does that mean we get to kill it? Kill the bird? Kill it with fire?> H0LYN3V1L, Snivy, and Fletching all paused to look at Capsakid, who was almost frothing at the mouth with excitement over potentially setting something on fire.
âDude. You are, like, really intense.â
<And coming from him that means something.>
âShut up.â
While they were bickering, the elevator reached its goal. H0LYN3V1L (and all the others) were facing down Zapdos. It looked significantly bigger than its stats said it would be. That didnât matter, probably, bigger enemy just meant bigger rewards, bigger accolades. Bigger fall, a voice in the back of H0LYN3V1Lâs mind said, but he did his best to clench his shaking hands into fists and ignore it.
âThis is it. This is our time to take back the world, to show Zapdos that we wonât stand for this kind of insubordination!â H0LYN3V1L yelled.
<Is he doing a speech? I canât believe heâs actually trying to do a speech.> Snivy loudly said to Fletchling and to anyone who was close enough to hear the sass.
H0LYN3V1L ignored him though, and continued on with his super cool hero speech that he deserved to give, â...The only thing standing between Zapdos and total destruction is me. Us. All of us, just me more than everyone else. No offense.â
<Yeah good save, kid> Snivy snorted, but it was cut off by H0LYN3V1L wrapping his hands around his mouth.
âWe are the protectors of this realm, saviors! Now we just need to attack!â H0LYN3V1L paused, expecting everyone else to rally at his glorious speech and actually charge into battle. But there was just a very loud silence.
<Boo, get off the stage!> Snivy laughed, pulling his mouth out of H0LYN3V1Lâs grasp.
âShut up! Shut up! Shut up!â H0LYN3V1L yelled.
<Make me!>
âOh Iâll make you alright.â H0LYN3V1L sneered, moving to hold Snivy like a football. âIf no one else is going to attack, Iâll show you all how itâs done!â H0LYN3V1L cocked his arms back and threw Snivy with all the power his virtual form possessed. âUse slam!â Snivy flew through the air till he smacked directly into Zapdos, bouncing off the bird several times before starting to drop.
SNIVY used SLAM, doing 127 damage to ZAPDOS
<Damn. You really did make him.>
H0LYN3V1L scoffed and rolled his eyes. âOf course I did, Iâm the hero of this story. Now go, Fletchling, use Ember!â
<Yay fire!> Capsakid cheered.
<And catch Snivy, right?> Fletchling said, glaring at H0LYN3V1L who held out for a moment before sighing.
âYeah, and go catch stupid Snivy and bring him back here.â H0LYN3V1L grumbled.
Fletchling took off, spouting a flame at Zapdos before diving for Snivy.
FLETCHLING used EMBER, doing 97 damage to ZAPDOS

Mechanical (Easy)ZONE A Verai felt his breath hesitate in his throat as the elevator came to a stop. Thunder snapped and snarled nonstop, wind screaming as it rushed against him. It was tremendous, the storm they were all subjected to, wild and unyielding.
And none of that even approached Zapdos- Verai did not need his sight to know He was there. His presence was immense and terrifying, stretching nearly to the edges of Verai's perception. He was entirely distinct from, and yet made entirely of, the violent thunderstorm that whipped around them all.
It was nothing short of awe.
Verai could only stand there, hair whipping around him. His wings were tight against his back, sword tight in his grip- but he did not move.
It had been four months ago, that Verai stumbled across the Prince, bloodied and nearly dead. Four months since he had seen himself in the Prince- someone freed from terrible conditions, broken free and cared for only to thrive, to realize themselves- since he had gotten the Prince's blessing and Boon, and found himself drawn to the Surge Steppe.
It had all been done with the knowledge that the Prince would return, with His Shrine, or with knowledge about what to do next-
And now, he was standing here, Zapdos clearly pained, and maybe desperate- And they were all meant to fight Him?
A few trainers moved, as soon as the storm swept over the elevator, but Verai couldn't, feet rooted in place. Could he blame Zapdos, for lashing out with people standing in the way of His plans? Was Professor Ash's plan the right one? Maybe if He felt safe enough to explain, they could all work together-
Verai had been certain, the last four months. Of his goals, of his allies, of himself.
But now?
He didn't know what to do.

Mechanical (Easy)ZONE A > MOVING TO ZONE B Big Bee revved his motorcycle.
"Ow! Stop pulling at my head!" said Cyclizar, "And stop making those dumb noises."
The rev died on Big Bee's lips, but he nodded agreeably. "You're right. The time for fun is over. Now it's time for work." To others this might appear like a line of bravado or maybe even a cool catch-phrase, but for Bee this raid literally was work. Customer Experience was rooted in real-time observations and data collections.
Sure there was validity to surveys and interviews and engagement metrics and heatmaps and all that beautiful data, but there was nothing that could compare to being on the ground (in the air), rolling up his sleeves (sleeves down, it was cold), and getting down to some serious work (he was four hours into playing a video game on paid work hours, in his corner office, with the door locked and his phone on silent).
His bandana was on tight, his bro orioncayge was by his side, and as the platform slid smoothly to a stop in the lower troposphere he couldn't help but stare at the terrifying vista in front of him.
The grasslands were smothered by frothy seas of dark foam, and the occasional jut of steel above the roiling surface was the only indicator that a world below still existed. This was a world of surging, crackling, flash-bulb darkness, and from the depths came a colossal creature. A living soul to the storm that roared in his ears and drowned out his engine.
ZAPDOS
The prince surged towards them like an approaching cliff, his voice crackling like a jumbotron tuned to static.
"Are you ready?"
"What?"
Big Bee revved up the engine and leaned forward. Bathed in the light of helpful beams he took off across the platform, Cyclizar galloping towards the edge. "Go go go! Don't slow down!"
"Do you have a plan?"
"What?" Bee yelled above the storm, "QUICK! JUMP!"
Cyclizar jumped, Bee's helmet glowed beneath his bandana, and they pair raced through the air.
"WOOOOOO!" Bee shouted. His mouth buzzed with static and his eyes watered, but there was no time to spare. He leaned to the side, and Rio hummed beneath him as he sped up, getting used to the feeling of riding through open air.
The pair turned in a graceful arc, and Rio sideswiped the boss like a teenager in a drag race. They bounced off, like an RC Car bumping into a freight train, but Big Bee liked to think they'd left a dent.

Mechanical (Easy)ZONE A
Lucille's heart hammered away at her ribs while knots settled into the pit of her stomach. Her hair whipping about wildly as the winds swirled like miniature tornadoes around her and the other trainers that were on the elevator platform. Swallowing thickly, she glanced at the Dreepy at her side, the hatchling shivering and yelping as a crack of thunder tore through the clouds like a freshly made scar before disappearing as quickly as it had appeared. Byleth covered her head with her serpentine arms and shut her eyes tight, beads of sweat melding into the rain that ran along her scaled flesh. Byleth didn't want any of this, she hadn't asked to be put into a battle against an impossible opponent. The thing was a goddamn deity of all PokĂŠmon! A Zapdos, part of the legendary bird trio. The thing summoned thunderstorms for a living, it wouldn't think twice about zapping anything that stood within its path. It was so large and terrifying to someone so small and new to the world.
<I really don't know if I can do this mama!>
âIt's okay to be scared Byleth. But you don't have to worry, I won't let anything bad happen to you... so be brave for me, alright?â The snow-haired woman did her best to reassure Byleth as she moved close to the infant dragon, curling her arms around the creature's frame and bringing it close which caused the Dreepy to nuzzle closer after a few moments of reluctance. Aymr the Cyndaquil scoffed and folded his tiny arms across his chest, shaking his head as he looked on at the scene before him.
<OH c'moooon! We should be rarin' to go! We have a giant chicken to fry!>
Lucille simply stared at her starter pokemon, a brief exhale exiting her nose as she let go of the Dreepy âYou're fired up so fine. Rollout.â Sometimes she wondered how she ended up with such a smart ass for a first Pokemon. Not that she didn't sometimes enjoy his smugness but there was certainly a time and a place for such things and this wasn't one of them.
The Cyndaquil however didn't need to be told twice, hopping back and forth on his feet before leaping up into the air, rolling up like Sonic the fucking Hedgehog and hurtling towards the towering Thunderbird before them.
Aymr used Rollout, doing 137 Damage to Zapdos
The Dreepy took a few moments before she felt calm enough to open her eyes and lower her arms down, just in time to watch the Cyndaquil's attack, how Aymr could be so brave was beyond her. But somehow he managed. Perhaps she could be capable of the same thing? She had to protect her 'mother' somehow. Taking a deep breath, Byleth dug deep for whatever shreds of courage she could muster. Ceasing her quivering mess and choosing to stand her ground.
Byleth used Core Ability: Disrupt, Covering Zone A to Mitigate 103 Damage

Mechanical (Hard)ZONE A
It was finally time.
After months of prepwork with the professor, after endless manhours constructing the platform, and what felt like an endless amount of training it was time to put the final chapter of Asper to ink. Tonight they would pen the story of how they took back the giant shrine from Zapdos, soaring to the sky to snatch the steely spire from his talons. Or perhaps would be a cautionary tale about how the players soared to close to the sky, dreamed too big, and like Ikarus would be sent tumbling back to the earth with nothing to show for themselves. Countless friendly and familiar faces gathered around, and at any other time Orion would have been dapping people up, clapping backs, and exchanging thumbs up and fingerguns.
Right now he was too focused for such tomfoolerly.
He had a plan, and that plan needed focus. They were taking this fight to the skies, and he had a few pocket aces up his sleeves. Weapons scrounged up over his time, now loaded into the metaphorical cannon ready to rock this oversized sky chickens fucking world. Yet their opening act was going to take all the focus and concentration he could muster.
Did you know that Volcanic Debris can be lunched upwards of fifty miles an hour during an eruption?
With such force, even a small piece of earth could be turned into a deadly, life threatening projectile. The ash could be upwards of three hundred degrees Celsius, triple the boiling point of water. Said ash could even reach the upper limits of the Stratosphere with enough force, and despite their growing estrangement from the soil below, Orion could feel the energy within roiling and toiling as he focused his energy inwards. He didn't have time to make any snippy comments about Nevil's cringe speech, he would have to make a mental note to give the young man lessons in Rizz. He didn't even have time to wish Bee onwards as he charged. Beads of sweat formed on his brow, absorbed by his signature yellow bandanna wrapped in its usual trademark style. His body vented heat as his skin began to glow red slightly, his black tanktop beginning to soak through with sweat. His legs stayed cool due to the sick pair of torn up Jorts he'd found in the cosmetic gallery that seemed to make his ass look even better, something he though scientifically impossible, but UNOVR finds a way it would seem.
"He's here boss!" Ares growled, towering behind his boss like a mini boss that foes would have to fight before throwing hands with Orion.
"Let me know when he's in position." Orion muttered between gritted teeth. "And stick to the fucking plan."
"Got it!" The boar clapped his hands together, taking in a deep breath. "Steady...." Orion's whole body began to tremble from the exertion of holding this move for so long, and the errant bolts of lightning licked at his form, sending jolts of pain down his body and flashes of red and warning klaxons howled in his ears, yet he paid them no mind.
Thanks to the former princess of the Timberlands, his HP pool was just a suggestion.
"NOW!" Ares roared, taking in a deep breath, his chest expanding dramatically. Orion let loose all of the force he'd been holding on to, somewhere in the depths down below the earth shook, the ground parting in massive cracks as a pillar of lava and ash shot upwards like a surface to air missile. A loud sonic boom ripped through the air, as lava and soot alike shot upwards with tremendous speed, aimed and timed perfectly as it pelted into the belly of this beast. Orion let out a mighty howl, having let go of all the exertion was like dropping a ten ton weight off of his chest. The sheer adrenaline was like a drug.
"ARES! LET IT RIP THE MOMENT HE SHOOTS BACK HIS RETURN SHOT! LET'S SHOW HIM WHO'S THE MOTHERFUCKING BOSS!"
Orion wasn't going to let this bird boss them around, and if he had his way he would show him who the real Legendary was.

FreeformZONE A This was Rhaenyraâs first raid in Unovr. And although the wolf hybrid wouldnât admit it, she was feeling kind of nervous for this. Luckily though, the game makers offered three different difficulties when the announcement was broadcasted a while back. It pained her a little to pick story mode, the easiest out of the three. But, the player wanted to get a better idea of how raids work before going all in. Was that a bad thing? MaybeâŚ
As soon as the count down for the raid hit zero, the grey silvery haired woman was teleported within a blink of an eye. Within seconds, her digital body materialized on a metallic platform. Pale golden orbs took in her surrounds as others spawned in as well, noting the dark ominous clouds in the near distance. The Professor began to speak, Rhaenyra too distracted by the incoming storm clouds to fully take in what was being said. And in the end, the only thing she retained was to attack the zapdos and good luck.
Suddenly, the flash of lightning reached across the sky in an angry fit of violence. Thunderous booms echoes throughout the land, rattling anything that didnât have something solid to hold into it. The elevator the wolf earned woman stood o moved, forcing the woman to check her balance. Rhaenyra held her emotionless mask, though her eyes filled with astonishment at the sight of the yellow legendary known as Zapdos. Damn, heâs a big boi!
It hissed loudly at them, declaring war and ready to fight. And as soon as he did so, the raid has began. Trainers from all around her call out to attack, forcing her to fumble on calling forth her team. Within seconds, the familiar frames of her Braixen and Type Null materialized. Both taking a moment or two to take in what the heck was going on before the woman called out her down attacks. âWe donât have time to waste. Izumi use psybeam and Ziryan use aerial ace.â
Ziryan leaped into action, leaving no room for hesitation. A growl rumbled in his throat, echoing in his helmet. A white glow encase his frame, body light as a feather as the Type Null darted towards the Zapdos. Leaving behind streaks of white, his aim was to Aerial Ace into the might bird with all his might.
Izumi, on the other hand, plucked the stick from her fluffy tail. Eyes closed, pulling forth psychic energy. And when she felt ready, eyes shot open and muzzle parted. Holding her stick to her mouth, a beam of multicolored beam shot out from her muzzle. The psybeam was aimed for the Zapdos, hoping to do some damage to help out.

Mechanical (Easy)ZONE A > MOVING TO ZONE B Oh man, what was she gonna do first?! Terastalize? Gigantamax? Crazy normal-type Metronome? There were tons of possibilities, each propelling her UNOVR cred to new, epic heights!
"I can't wait!" Yggy chatted to odile as they and the rest of the raid party stood on the elevator platform, waiting for the countdown to reach zero. Distantly, the silver shape of Professor Ash could be seen, pacing, checking her watch, marking the perimiter. "I've been training like, a ton. I have a lot of cool Pokemon! How about you?"
The metal beneath their feet seemed to hum slightly as the elevator began to rise at last into the air. Most of the trainers fell silent as Ash's projection began to speak, but Yggy just lowered her voice to a whisper and kept going. "I'm Yggy, by the way! It's short for Yggsbekistan. That's a country in the middle east! Hey, are you playing that new geography Wordle game? It's so fun, right?"
She finally fell silent as Zapdos emerged from the storm, great and gold and spiky. "O-oh man. It's like, baseball stadium-size! No way... two baseball stadiums, maybe!"
Had Kyogre been this big? Yggy racked her brains, but couldn't remember. In her memory Kyogre had been even more immense, even more daunting, like an alien mothership on the crest of a wave. But they'd climbed on top of it, right? It hadn't been that bad after all.
I don't have to be scared. I'm ready for this.
Maybe it was because they had the high ground. Maybe it was because they had trained for this.
"We're gonna be fine," she said as the elevator came to a stop in the middle of the storm. She turned and grinned at odile even as electricity played through the air, setting her hair on end. "'Cuz we have all the big players on our side!"
Time to jet.
Yggy took off running for the edge of the platform, then jumped. She skipped a second impossible step on the air itself, windmilling her arms clumsily as she teetered on an invisible hit box.
"Kitkat, go! Mega Evolve! Junkrat, catch!"
White light that was far too long fountained from the Pokeball, stretching down, down, down like a waterslide into the thunderstorm below. For a moment, it looked like the Gigantamax Meowth would simply vanish like a lost noodle down the drain.
Then tiny wings broke the cloud cover as Junkrat the Pidgey rose triumphantly back up, towing the scruff of the giant cat. "Wooooo!" Yggy yelled, pumping a fist. She pointed across the gulf towards Zapdos himself. "Let's get over to that side! Fury Swipes, Kitkat!"
Junkrat crossed the way, carrying Meowth's head and front paws like a fly carrying a pool noodle. Kitkat's distended, furry body stretched tantalizingly behind her, forming a looooong cat bridge between Zone A and Zapdos's wings.
Yggy beckoned eagerly to her friends back on the elevator. "This way, guys! It won't be able to hit us if we're on top of it! Haha!"
Whether it was bravado, game logic, or something else, Yggy was counting on this feeling to get her through the raid trauma-free.

Mechanical (Easy)ZONE A > MOVING TO ZONE D Jinx knew there was some kind of deep video game lore to this whole battle, but even after having given Professor Ash a Duraludon for the cause and having flown around on wings to prepare for it all, Jinx still didn't entirely know what the backstory here was. Getting the Giant Shrine back, alright, but what was this about a prince? And why did Zapdos steal the shrine in the first place? Did they even know?
It didn't matter, though. Jinx got the gist of it all. Big fight, big boss, take him down by all means.
...admittedly, Jinx hadn't expected the big boss in question to be quite so big.
It was one thing for a video game boss to be big to show that it was strong and tough and all that. Jinx could get that bit. But it was quite another thing for the boss in question to cover a huge portion of the sky, to be large enough to be terrain as much as enemy.
Jinx's plan, such as it was, had been to hit hard and let the chips fall as they may... but as she approached the immense being that was their opponent in this battle, Jinx decided that maybe for once, discretion was the better part of valor.
"So." Jinx let the word linger in the air for a bit before continuing. "Skipper, use your Rock Throw to Disrupt what Zapdos is up to, will ya? Help folks out a bit here."
The newly-evolved Marshtomp nodded along with Jinx's instructions.
"And Booger?" Jinx had to giggle a little at the Slugma's name, even now of all times. "Hit 'em hard with a Rock Throw of your own, then let's get the heck out of dodge."
Jinx glanced back at the wings strapped to her back and did her best to grin at the thought of zooming into the sky on them again, with nothing but their flying capabilities stopping her from falling far, far below. At least this time, the explosions would all be hitting Zapdos instead of them... hopefully.
"Good thing we trained for this, huh?"

FreeformZONE A Odile would be honest; she was not entirely entirely sure if she fully understood the importance of getting the shrine back from Zapdos. It wasn't like she hadn't been listening to Professor Ash; quite the opposite in fact. Though, in the end of the day as she thought about it, did it matter if she really understood the finer details of the mission? No, not really. The base goal was simple enough to understand. Bring the big bird down. While she hadn't been here nearly as long as some of the others, didn't nearly have the pool of Pokemon, didn't nearly have the depth of knowledge and strategy... she was still here.
That had to count for something. She was going to make it count.
Really did help that this girl, Yggy, was chatting with her as the elevator soared skywards. The blonde spoke so nonchalant, so confident in herself, that well... Odile couldn't help but to feel that this would go well. Look at all the players around them! Everyone with their own unique experiences and ideas all coming together for a singular goal. Odile knew how to do some teamwork; the corps de ballet worked as one, all for the expressed purpose of making a night to remember. This would not be as refined, not as practiced, but it held a similar spirit, and Odile held onto that spirit as if was a dove.
A dancer couldn't get stage fright after all.
She couldn't get stage fright, but that never stopped the nerves. The electricity in the air tingled exposed flesh, goosebumps erupting. This beast of a bird, carrying his burden like a baton. They were supposed to strike him down. Alright. With all of them, that could be done.
Her team didn't have the best match-up in the world, but that was just the nature of things. Giselle and Mercurio made their appearances, and immediately Giselle was waving her tail, the topaz-like gem gleaming and glowing. "Oh this is my sort of alley..."
"It's not mine." Mercurio muttered, the Frogadier's skin crawling from the static in the air. He was not liking the prospect of getting struck by that lightning at all, no siree. "Is this the... what you spoke about?"
"Yeah, it's time guys. I know we don't have too much practice or anything, so just do your best. Let's get it done! Giselle, stand on guard! Mercurio, be on the lookout, you'll have a chance to attack soon!"
Mercurio couldn't help but to raise an eyebrow but Giselle was already sparking away, before glowing a powerful yellow, as if almost fueled by the storm itself.

Mechanical (Hard)ZONE AIt's Monday, my dudes. ...But, Tuesday spirit is always in our hearts, and above all else, Tuesday always means business.Clad in exquisitely engraved armour and a long Rainbow Flame Cloak of white feathers that reflect a thousand colours in this approaching thunderstorm, the Alchemist stands tall on the elevator's platform. Like, really tall. 6'1" tall (without counting those fluffy cat ears that add more than a couple of inches for sure). Her signature Immovable Spear is in hand, its sharp blade pointing up at the warring sky, and protectively wrapped around her left forearm, the gelid chain of golden pearls of a shiny Cryogonal pull the PokĂŠmon closer to her â acting as a shield always. "Ah, smell the ozone in the air? It's time." A smirk marks her lips, unfading even when the temperature drops during their ascent, for such things mean so little to a Freezer. And, speaking of freezers, that's exactly the PokĂŠmon Tuesday calls out of a PokĂŠball mere moments before Zapdos' gargantuan body overtakes everyone's line of sight, what a coincidence! A Frost Rotom. Now, the Rotom is a bit of a hilarious sight: a levitating red refrigerator wearing the same Meowth-ears headband it had been wearing since it hatched from an egg last Halloween for during one of the Rookery's events. The headband seems to adapt when the Rotom changes forms, but the most amusing and confusing thing of all may just be the content of this refrigerator. "Pixel, this is gonna be one hell of a battle. We'll need ourselves some fuel for sure." Tuesday says then, her golden gaze fixed on the enormous legend. She's giddy, ecstatic, and she's also barely fucking audible beneath the sound of Zapdos' thundering and rough voice. "Good fuckin' gods, I should've known to bring giant cough drops. Anyway, T Fuel, stat!"<'Command acknowledged. Pixel will proceed to distribute T Fuel samples to all players in the vicinity.'>The Rotom declares in a robotic voice, duplicating itself out of ice and frost. It does so again and again, with the original one then floating all over the platform to deliver its content to all players who'd like to take it: canned drinks with a suspiciously familiar logo. T FUEL
THUNDERFALL TEA ENERGY DRINK <'Crack open a cold one with the gamer boys and gamer girls and try Tuesday's T.E.A. Shop new T FUEL Thunderfall Tea Energy Drink! Perfect to keep you energized and focus during battle! Zero sugar, zero calories, naturally and artificially flavoured, focus amino-fortified, vitamin-fortified, packed with antioxidants, Non GMO, Vegan-friendly, Keto-friendly, Kosher-friendly. Side effects and actual effects may be many to non-existent. Make teatime anytime T FUEL Thunderfall Tea!'>Of course, most of those claims can be made because this is a virtual drink, but it's not like everyone needs to think too hard about that. They cans are cold and taste nice, that's what matters! Hell, Tuesday had even made them herself, applying the in-game smithing skills she learned as an ironsmith. And the pièce de rÊsistance? All the Rotom's copies throwing their very cold cans of T Fuel at Zapdos in the most hilarious (yet effective) attack. "Great work, Pixel. Just as we practiced." Tuesday praises, cracking open her own drink and relishing in that satisfying pop of the can's fizz. Like I said, Tuesday means business, and sometimes that means promoting hers in the process. Mechanical (Easy)ZONE AThis is one of the best parts of the game, and a result, also one of the best parts of Hilda's job. All the excitement in everyone's faces? The way many look as if they had been preparing for months for this moment? The awesome soundtrack? The complex lore? The stunning graphics? The awesomeness of it all? It makes her damn proud of working for Hydance, that's for sure. That's how Hilda feels about the raid, but when Domino steps onto the elevator, the Beta Tester and Catalyst is as cool as a cucumber. The harsh wind sways and ruffles her short pastel-toned hair, no biggie. The sky speaks of storms and approaching danger, her multicoloured gaze watching the clouds closely, also no biggie. The temperature drops harshly in their ascent; cold as fuck, but no biggie, she can deal with it. And then... then Zapdos appears. "Damn, that's a biggie right there." Domino declares, as chill as can be, and at her lips a small smile forms, because Zapdos is rad as fuck. Have you seen him?! Huge and with the thunder and the lightning and the storm and the loud raspy voice? A thousand chef's kiss emojis. Everyone had done such an spectacular job. <'Gooo!'> The amorphous blob on her shoulder coos, muted by Domino's decision to disable PokĂŠSpeech. That doesn't mean that she doesn't want to talk to her PokĂŠmon, though! "I know, right? So cool." She smirks, nonchalantly tossing up a PokĂŠball to summon something that's very cool in a much different way from Zapdos: a Mew that stretches up in the air as if he actually were a cat waking from a nap, one pink, adorable, and clad in a Burning Bandana and spikey black collar. "Bart, people are gonna need heals, so have at it. Throw a buff in there too, yeah? Gotta help the homies!" <'Goo?'>"Nah, Blobert, you're staying with me. I wanna keep an eye on you 'cause of Bunya's experiment thingy, so you're here to keep me company" Domino pets the Ditto, just in time for that Frost Rotom to pass by and offer her a chill drink. She takes it even though she's already cold, because why not, no? And, while she enjoys her refreshing beverage, Bart flies away, giggling to himself after having just buffed the fridge. Does he think that's funny? Obviously. He circles around players, greeting them with delighted little <'Mew!'>s here and then, and when the fridges begin to pelt Zapdos with cans, he cheers for them, giggling and deciding at that very moment to heal them. <'Mew, mew, mew.'>The Mew creates a bubblegum pink ball, gathering the electricity in the air via his REFLECT TYPE and making it his own. It courses through his body and into the ball, the inside of it now looking like one of those plasma globes (this is not how this move should work, but thank a Beta Tester's Metronome). Then, he splits the electricity-infused bubble in two, tossing one towards the nearest fridge and leaving with the second ball. Among players upon players and players, one stands out to Bart. Maybe because this one had made similar fashion choices to this Burning Bandana-clad legendary or maybe because he had been very very loud â loud enough to make the ground erupt! So cool! So, naturally, the Mew gets right in orioncayge's face, mere suddenly inches away, holding his dangerous-looking ball of electricity. <'Mew!'> Bart greets, and just like that, he passes the ball to Orion, its static healing him. Mechanical (Easy)ZONE A > MOVING TO ZONE C Well, this answered the question of what the professor had been doing with all those steel-types, Taylor supposed. The sheer sense of scale to this whole thing was damn impressive, and Taylor grinned wolfishly as the platform rose, releasing Onix from his pokeball and bracing herself as she listened to the professorâs explanations.
Almost before she knew it, the battle was underway; a colossal, roaring Zapdos staring them down and very clearly preparing to attack.
âWell shit,â the woman muttered, before flashing a grin in Onixâs direction. âReady, bud?â She queried, and was met with a solid nod in return. The rock snake summoned up a boulder, tossing his head as he punted it not in the direction of the opponent, but instead in Taylorâs own direction.
âBatter up!â She called with a grin, widening her stance and winding back with her staff. She waited as the rock sailed towards her, judging the timing, before landing a solid blow against it. This had the effect of punting the makeshift projectile directly towards the looming legendary. Thankfully it was big enough to make for a relatively easy target.
With that done, she hopped on the Onixâs back and hung on for dire life. âThink you can get us up there, bud?â She suggested, pointing to the legendaryâs wing. Silly, makeshift baseball pitching aside, she was going to struggle to land too many blows on the Zapdos from down here.

FreeformZONE A Ah, they were really, really high up.
Kallisto had done some research, but research did not compare to what was waiting for him when he signed up for the raid. The tower was huge and so was the fucking yellow bird in the sky, which apparently was the cause for all of this lightning and thunder. Admittedly, he certainly did not feel prepared enough to be of any help, but the others were encouraging and many were still joining in, despite their Pokemon teams far from polished and able to dish out a lot of damage. It was numbers that mattered - a combined effort to take down a singular objective that he wasn't even quite sure as to why. But hell, the game was siding with this, so that meant that there would be prizes at the end of it, right?!
He never saw himself as someone with a fear of heights, but he was holding to the handles of the elevator the whole time it rose higher and higher to the skies. The thunder only rumbled louder, making the structure vibrate. Ahhh this was just a game, he had to think to himself, having never gone this high on any tower ever in real life (they usually required some kind of fee, which he didn't want to fork over!) But he eventually got to the top, and actually he wasn't alone in that elevator, but he was certainly in no mood to talk to anyone. There were even more people on the platform, and momentarily, his fear for how high up they were was replaced by something else.
Maybe in another light, or as a picture, he would've found the bird goofy as hell. Its eyes were tiny like slits, sometimes looking like it was just pure white, and its body was just purely yellow spike clumps jutting out in odd angles. If it weren't for its size and the danger that it clearly posed, he might've laughed. But he wasn't, because he knew that the pressure exerted from that thing put it in another league from any other Pokemon he faced so far.
So this is a legendary.
Worse yet, in his haphazard studying of type match ups, he could at least remember that water was weak to electric, and his strongest party member was a water type. Nonetheless, he hoped that he could contribute in some way still. âAegis! Protect the other Pokemon!â the pop up had said that their opponent (Zapdos, it displayed) was preparing for an attack, so he might as well try to mitigate some of the damage rather than deliver a weak attack. He saw that other players were already making their way to jump on the Pokemon directly (are they insane?!) But depending on what it did, perhaps that might be for the best? He did also have the steampunk wings that he got from the other event, after all, and to his pleasant surprise, they were also modified to fit his current avatar's frame.
Wait and see first. âStand your ground!â
