uh i mean. hi there! hello! i'm hunter! i'm 29 years old, use she/her pronouns, and am currently living in the eastern timezone of the us. it's my first time back rping after a hiatus (i honestly don't think i've meaningfully touched pb in like 10 years and pokemon in almost 15 now), so i have... a lot of energy. a lot. which means my reply speed tends to be pretty quick, but please don't let that intimidate you if you're slower - i'm just making bad decisions, l-lol.

since i'm not sure if i'm going to join the discord / check it more than once a day (it's not y'all, it's me - tl;dr i've found it's a lot easier for me to get psyched out by my imposter syndrome if i'm in the discord since my brain starts tricking me into thinking i'm the weird kid on the playground everyone's just humoring until they go away), pming me or tagging me is almost definitely the best way to get hold of me. i tend to stalk the recent threads, so trust me, i'll see it pretty quick, even if i might not be able to reply right away.

[break][break] QUEST BUDDIES Chesh is probably gonna end up with the lion's share of my quests, if only because he's super easy for me to write for and I like throwing him into problems, so. A lot of my quests are probs gonna involve him, whoops- [break][break] MENTORS Since this man was an idiot who skipped every single possible tutorial under the thought process of knowing how Pokemon works so what does he need a tutorial for... he will need help. A lot of help. As in "we are playing multiple games for how long he's gonna go ICly before figuring out large swaths of his UI" kinds of help. Help him or hinder him. It'll be funny. | One of the last remaining members of a once-lively gaming group, Cedric is a steadfast, faithful presence who threw himself back into UNOVR in a desperate attempt to escape the reality of his long-time crush getting engaged to someone else after the poor guy spent so much of his life chasing after him. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the thought of being able to coordinate a close-knit raiding group seems a lot more appealing to him than something like confronting his own feelings, so he'll be chasing that in an attempt to stave off that emotional crash for as long as he can (and, perhaps, take the edge off that his first love never stood a chance from the start and figure out how to start picking up the pieces of his heart in the aftermath). | { PLOT IDEAS - click to show/hide} RAIDING BUDDIES As you might imagine, Seren is going to be looking for a bunch of new party members that he can reliably "raid" with, whether that's doing high-end quests, deep dungeon dives, or intense raids against powerful bosses. Ideally, this would be more of a cohesive group than a bunch of characters getting together for one-off runs and then remaining distant afterwards, so if that sounds like a fun ongoing dynamic, boy howdy am I down! [break][break] FRIENDS LIST Of course, that being said, I'm always interested in having Cedric just generally expand his friend list with new gaming buddies, even if they aren't also here for a more committed group, so please feel free to hit my boy up! (And doubly so when he's likely to do a lot of my quests + dungeons as well, l-lol.) [break][break] LOVE DOCTOR Look, Cedric has absolutely no idea what to do romantically now that the guy he's literally had a crush on before he even knew what a crush looked like is now officially and totally off the market, and I just think it might be fun to watch him get some friends to attempt to teach him how to move on and then how to find love. | Having awoken in this "new world" with nothing but a Pokeball on his chest and only a handful of memories to recall, Valentine is a sweetheart who is desperately seeking the truth who he is and why it is that he awoke in a clearing with only a Pokeball and with half of his UI prompts disabled, preventing him from battling or logging out. In time, the links he forges between himself and his partners - both Pokemon and human - will unlock the truth of his own nature (that of a car crash victim trapped in a coma who was locked in the game in an attempt to keep his mind from going completely vegetative), and with it, nothing in his world will ever be the same again. | { PLOT IDEAS - click to show/hide} TRUTH-SEEKERS As you might imagine with that core idea, Val's main goal is going to be trying to find out the truth of what he is (whether he's human or an NPC, why his UI is so messed up, etc), and he's going to need more than a few friends to help him find the answers (as well as generally help him out of his bind). [break][break] BODYGUARDS With a malfunctioning UI that won't let him log out properly (any forced logouts send him into a body that's hooked up to almost immediately kick him back into the game) or meaningfully battle with his Pokemon, Val is understandably going to need some friends who are willing to be big and strong and keep him out of trouble or pry him out of it if it finds him. A good few friends. (And if they're able to help him find a bed, that's good too.) [break][break] DAY CARE Val's primary gameplay "goal" is actually to complete the Pokedex from Pokemon Conquest... Unfortunately for him, his combat UI is corrupted (and will never be fully functional in-character, even after he figures out how to exploit the restrictions), so for him to be able to do that, he's going to need to get a lot of trades. And idk, it just seemed like a cool idea for him to function as like a "daycare" to complete his Pokedex (aka he'll keep the Pokemon until he earns the money to evolve + unequip them to trade them back), don't judge me for my sin of wanting to try out some alternative gameplay styles- [break][break] Gotta be honest, I'm generally down for pretty much anything. Yo! Welcome to the site ^_^ ! I get you on the Discord front, I get super intimidated by servers too <3
I thought I'd offer Nero to you since he's kind of coming at UNOVR from the opposite angle - he wants to build a persona that's not himself but he's never done that before. He's feeling incredibly insecure and uncomfortable in his own body (he was in a motor accident recently and currently can't use his legs so feels very trapped and wants an escape), but he's never played online games before so he's struggling to separate himself from his avatar, even though he wants to. He won't recognise Adrien's name or avatar at all since he doesn't watch streamers, but he'll probably be jealous of his natural confidence in a brand new game, which could be enough for an intor thread at least? And then potentially their contrast could make for an interesting friendship down the line, especially since their aesthetics are very opposite and I love a good opposites attract plot.

it's less intimidation and more that i tend to really psyche myself out when i'm in discords since i end up doing the rper equivalent of the two cakes artist meme until i end up ghosting out from thinking i'm not wanted. so. can't get freaked out by there being two cakes if i never see the other cake to think my cake is worse, l-lol.
(bold of nero to assume it's confidence and not adri massively overestimating how much his previous pokemon game knowledge is gonna carry him in unovr, lol)
but omg yes, that all sounds super cool! both from like... adri helping teach nero how to separate himself a bit from his avatar, as nero is teaching him to tone down the chirpy mask of cheshire, and from nero potentially finding out his in-game friend is kind of famous irl and can potentially pull strings to shake up his life irl / do charity stuff for causes related to his situation / etc.

okay, i am howling at the immediate spiderman pointing meme that would come from sae and adri for one reason and one reason only: please consider if the both of them absolutely know who the other is and have beef with each other because cheshire's actual visual design is way too gaudy and over the top for sae's tastes (which is true) while adri thinks darien's persona is way too melodramatic and cliche. they fight like cats and dogs, by which i mean, cheshired is in full display as a flirty, flighty cat and darien is ready to throw the whole catman away with each new word that comes out of his mouth.
(also laughing if the exact persona also triggers theron's dad instincts because he is making a nice little concerned face and that is enough to break the "i'm just here to have fun" vibe. basically, it was all fun and games until he was exposed to too much of cheshired and an intervention became very much needed.)
and then i also started howling at the extremely specific image of adarsa yelling about i didn't even date you why are you hitting on me and yeah no take this power away from me since otherwise i'm just gonna keep spouting off whatever ideas i think would be really heckin funny whoops- |

Listen, all Nero sees is someone not wavering over insignificant decisions in a fictional settings and he's jealous of that lmaooo, doesn't matter what's causing it, he wants to be able to act like that himself and is going to sulk about not being able to. Sounds like they could be really good for each other, so I'd be down to thread them in something if you fancy it? I know mods were wanting to push the Ostelia quests at the moment, so if any of these catch your eye (Writing on the Wall, Abandoned Laboratory, or Abduction Hour in particular for me) I'd be super down to throw these two into one together!

yeahhhhh like i said. imposter syndrome, l-lol.
i think writing on the wall or abandoned lab would probably work best? mostly probably going to depend on how chesh decides to resolve his future "tutorial what tutorial" arc (man's about to start his game skipping all the tutorials and the intro quest, and there's no way this doesn't go hilariously wrong), but i could see nero convincing him to go into even dumber areas for him to be in as a newbie by inviting him when he gets the quest prompt (nero voice "i just needed another warm body and i now regret this"). just let me get through the lab thread to get his starter + do a bit of spawning so he's going in with more than just an empty party (or a totodile lol). same thing where chesh needs to get himself out of the lab and a small party before he's ready to make himself everyone else's problem, l-lol. should be soon, i have stuff pre-written and a long weekend, so i should be able to get there pretty quick once i get moving!
(also howling as i started chesh with the intention of him being somewhat normal and i can already feel myself going down the path of full gremlin for him instead oh no-)
honestly, could probably have one of the three in that same ostelia quest, if you want? Also fun fact, Nero did the tutorials because he has very little gaming experience but is also very embarrassed about the fact that he had to do the tutorials and that some people might have SEEN him not being an immediate expert at a game he's never played before. So another shot of jealousy there that he at least might feel vindicated about if it turns out Chesh doesn't know something useful when they're stuck in a dangerous area together hehe.
