Oh, this one almost became his undoing, but…
After they were done clearing out the beanbags and clearing the floor, the next thing they needed to fix was a broken light bulb?
(Wait, was this really a Tower or asking them for free…?)
Thankfully, he had exactly one Pokémon who could hit this without too much incident. Once he’d cleaned off the Chespin’s carapace and recalled them back (and made sure to dispose of the trash) he would then flick out… a Snubbull.
Who, interestingly, he wasn’t initially planning on using, but seeing as how… diverse their move set was, he could definitely get some steps out of them.
Plucking the light bulb out of the broken socket, he saw that it had been burnt out. Yikes…
He was about to ask the Snubbull to go towards the socket, however the strange canine had other ideas, instead wandering over to where the nearest electric wall outlet was located and then taking an electrified bite out of it with Thunder Fang!
What the fuck!
“What are you—?!” he exclaimed; before the explosion hit.

The explosion definitely knocked him off his feet and right on his ass—he’d somehow lost the busted light bulb in the process, too!
And in the aftermath of the explosion, the pink canine had soot all over them! It didn’t help matters that the next prompt was…
“Oh, come on,” he sighed tiredly as he picked himself up, bopped the Snubbull on the snout before recalling them and swapping out for the extremely shy Charmander.
“I need your help again. It makes no sense, I know. But then again, most of the tower has not made sense at all so far,” he sighed as he then pointed at the prompt that was on the screen.
The shy Fire-type would nod quietly, before taking a deep breath and helping ‘put out’ the flames with Dragon Breath.
An extremely unorthodox way of handling a fire; but you do you, right?

The Quaxwell would then see the next prompt; and then walk out from behind where he’d been trailing; clearing up the rest of the debris in their wake.
‘Oh, that was an odd way of doing that. I can help a little more, though,’ the Water-type quacked quietly; as the Charmander took a step back to hide behind his legs.
(Hilariously, the Murkrow had slept through this entire mess.)
“Oh, how?” he blinked, because electrical ‘fires’ were apparently one of the hardest to clear out.
‘Watch this.’
A surprise smattering of feathery down in the form of a Feather Dance would come from the Water-type’s direction; hilariously it would also drive out a Patrat that had taken cover from the electrical ‘explosion’ earlier and had sent it running as well.
“I know water and electrical fires don’t mix.”
‘They do not. You’ll only make it worse.’

Now there was a prompt he never thought he’d encounter. Whistling quietly, he realized that he would have to return to the Tower at a later date.
So for now, he would scoop up his companions, and make a temporary exit from the place… at least, until the World Event was over!
Eventually, he would return—this time, with the not-a-Grookey following him.
‘How long have you been in here?’
“Honestly… quite some time,” he would hum; before the current prompt would flash on the screen—perfect. He didn’t need to switch out anything after all.
‘So what do you want me to do?’
“Well… take out that troublemaker of a Patrat,” he would tilt his head in the direction of the offending Pokémon that was ready to mess up the sheets that they’d recently gotten fixed, so…
‘Alright, alright.’
The Thwackey would then rush forward, swinging their fists in a Double Hit attack; intent on getting the ‘trash’ cleaned out of the way.

The next move prompt that would appear—well, then!
(Maybe not picking up any Grass-types asides from the ones he currently had was going to be a major pain in the ass, but otherwise… it was go time.)
“Step back,” he hummed to the not-a-Grookey as he plucked a particular Pokéball and summoned the slumbering Celesteela within it, who yawned before unfurling their comically-large rocket arms in the space.
[tangent=“Good afternoon,”]“Bonjour,”[/tangent] he would greet the Celesteela in French—despite the fact that they could speak freely now, he wasn’t going to take that risk!
The tiny little head would turn to face him; before hearing the strange melodic noise coming from her.
[tangent=“I need your help again, if you’ll allow me,”]“J’ai encore besoin de ton aide, si tu me le permets,”[/tangent] he continued, before pointing at the Patrat that was cackling atop a shelf crammed full of… game cases? And plush collections? What the hell was up?
[tangent=“Can you use your Mega Drain on that Patrat for me?”]“Peux-tu utiliser ton Méga-Sangsue sur ce Patrat pour moi?”[/tangent] he went on; before the rocket arms—to his surprise—raised themselves before taking aim and firing off the strange green-colored energy without even making the whistling noise at all.
Huh. Maybe there were a few things that had indeed changed in the wake of the World Event, after all.

The last Patrat was waiting atop a television… oh, the irony of it all.
And the even more ironic edge to this situation was that he needed an Ice-type attack, of all things! Quickly recalling the Celesteela with a quiet “Thank you,” before pulling out the ever-trusty Murkrow’s Pokéball.
A few moments later, the multiple-eyed corvid made his appearance—thankfully, he only saw at the very most two extra eyeballs blinking his way the moment Muninn spread his wings wide upon emerging from the flash of red light.
‘What do you want me to do?’ the corvid squawked the moment he hovered in mid-air.
“Can you shoo that Patrat away from over there?” he pointed at the last one that was lurking on the television set… it wasn’t even one of the flat screen kinds!
‘What if I wreck the thing it’s on?’
“…try not to destroy it, if you can help it!” he added; before the Murkrow flew forward, four sets of eyes making the Patrat scream even before the Haze had enveloped it.

The next floor stumped him. How could the concept of ‘half’ be a theme? Honestly, the Tower boggled at this point.
Luckily, though, the next prompt was something that Muninn could easily handle—and for the first time, he thought he saw Watchogs, and not Patrat—swarming at that point. That was undeniably—something new. Wasn’t the entire concept of the Tower designed around a certain Pokémon causing trouble and how they had to think around the obstacles and—okay, evolved Pokémon in the Tower was definitely something he had not yet encountered so far.
(See: his previous expeditions into the Towers, both the current one for dogs, and previous trips…)
‘What the hell?’
“I know. Can you take care of that one?”
‘Alright, on it.’
The Murkrow would fly forward, wings spread wide in a Wing Attacking gesture. He wondered what the next prompt would be; hopefully it was something easy and not anything that would wall him (oh, that Dragon-type move really stumped him for a good while).

The good thing was that the next prompt didn’t need too much thinking—use a Johto Pokémon, of which Murkrow definitely was one.
The bad thing was—how would the theme of “half” come into play for the next few floors? He would cross his arms over his chest, before realizing what the theme belatedly meant.
Both him and Muninn looked up and saw that the ‘ceiling’ of the current set of floors had seemingly disappeared into nothingness. Was the place glitching out?
‘What’s going on?!’ he heard the corvid squawking from his current position.
“I think I know what’s up…” he trailed off as the Murkrow flew forward and squawked angrily at the Watchog that was headed their way, screaming murder as well in his direction.
…never mind the fact that the Murkrow had multiple eyeballs staring at the Watchog while it was trying to peck the offending Pokémon’s eyes out!

Muninn would eventually return, some of the extra eyeballs blinking before the corvid settled down back in his ‘nest’ to take a rest. Ever since the Murkrow had been directly affected by the cosmic ichor, the other hadn’t had as much stamina as they used to…
“You okay, Muninn?”
‘Just… a little sleepy, is all.’
With that the corvid Pokémon would hide his head under one of the wings to take a nap; which would leave him pondering the next prompt… and he had to bite back an ironic chuckle.
This one, again? he thought as he fished around and located his Celesteela’s Pokéball before popping it open and watching as the largest of his Ultra Beasts made another appearance. This time, there would be no room for explanation.
Pointing at the next Watchog that had appeared, which was… pretty much gaping up at the Celesteela; who had raised her ‘rocket arms’ and aimed right at the—
[tangent=“No need to be so violent. I just need a Mega Drain, please?”]“Pas besoin d'être aussi violent. J'ai juste besoin d'un Méga-Sangsue, s'il te plaît?”[/tangent] he would hum in the Celesteela’s direction, before pointing at the Watchog that had turned around and made a run for it.

He had a feeling he was going to be pulling the Celesteela out quite a lot, especially when that particular prompt came up all things considered. Other than her, he had… ironically, he had no other Pokémon that could fulfill that particular prompt until he started catching more Grass-types again.
(What an ironic clapback, wasn’t it?)
Either way, he thought he’d hit another roadblock in the Tower, but belatedly remembered that he had exactly one Pokémon that fit the prompt.
Recalling the Celesteela with a quietly-muttered word of thanks, he would then pop the Poochyena out; watching as the overexcited canid hit the ground running.
Great, another Max! Cheeky.
He looked up at the ceiling of the ‘room’ he was in, and was not surprised to see that it was literally ‘in half’ again; the half of the room that remained barely came up to his shoulders.
“Go get that Watchog!” he would encourage the hyperactive canine… what was the scientific term for hyenas, again?

Once the previous Watchog had been chased away, and another had appeared—and this time the room was bisected in half vertically.
“Whoa, fuck!” he grumbled as he jumped towards the right side where the floor still ‘existed’, and realized that the next prompt was something he thought he’d never see again—the briefest hint of a smirk flashed across his face before he popped out his not-a-Grookey, who scowled at the sight of the cleaved room.
‘What happened here?!’
“Well… the room’s been cut in half, so. There’s that. What else can we do about it?”
‘Nuts, so what did you want me to do again?’
“Try not to wreck the room, but can you… can you at least swat it with your strongest attack?”
‘What, and break the entire room?!’
“Just try not to break the floor!”
‘Alright, alright.’
With that, the Thwackey would then conjure up the biggest-looking hammer made of wood and attempted to slam it on the Watchog’s surprised face in a power move!
(Specifically, a Wood Hammer attack!)

Another Watchog down, and the next floor—this time he had to stop himself from very nearly falling down through the hole in the floor!
Why was the theme of ‘half’ literally manifesting itself in the rooms being bisected in many multiple directions?! This time there was a rather large ‘hole’ in the floor, so that was ‘half’ the floor gone on this side of the room, huh?
There was another Watchog lurking at the edge of the ‘room’, and the next prompt then flashed across his screen. Another hint of a wicked grin would flash on his face, before he recalled the Thwackey quietly and called the next Pokémon he knew could clear this one.
While the Rockruff did not yet have a name, he knew he was getting close to picking one; and he had one of two possible choices…
For now, though?
A surprise Howl from the Rockruff would send the Watchog toppling over the edge of the room cut in half…
Oops?

Okay, ignoring the fact that he may have committed an unintentional crime (sorry Watchog) this time the… what was up with the half of the room being bisected in a diagonal cut? Kind of like a sandwich?!
He would then recall the Rockruff as the next prompt flashed across the screen; and he froze for a few moments. Wait, wait, did he have any Pokémon from this place…?
A few moments later, the belated realization that his lone Water-type was one he’d never seen across the eight generations he was familiar with then hit him.
“Idiota,” he would hiss to himself, sighing quietly as he pulled out the Water-type’s Pokéball and called them in a flash of red light.
‘So what do you need me for?’ the duck Pokémon would inquire of him the moment they were on the floor.
“Can you take care of that one?” he would tilt his head in the direction of the Watchog leering at them.
‘On it,’ was all he would get next, and a surprise Liquidation attack would knock the Watchog out of the way not too long afterward.

The way the next prompt would manifest itself was in a most unusual manner—
Only half the words came out of his mouth the moment they hit the next room; and that was a very literal take on the theme in all sense of the word.
“What the hell—” he spat out; originally the sentence was supposed to be ‘what the hell happened to this place’ because of the way the room had been chopped, maybe the ‘chopping’ this time around was something on the… metaphysical sense? Or something along those lines.
The latter half of the next prompt showed up on the screen, ‘—cial move’, and that was… well, even the prompt itself was chopped in half?
He would stand there, stumped—accompanied by the Quaxwell who would look at the half-a-prompt in confusion as well.
“—what it is?” he turned to ask the Quaxwell, who regarded him with just as much confusion.
‘I have no—’
The ‘split’ exchange continued for a while, at least until the Water-type, who by now had gotten rather impatient decided to charge ahead with a Water Pulse attack towards the smug, buck-toothed, half-grinning Watchog!
…that took care of the pesky problem on this floor, at the very least.

How much farther did they have to go for these set of floors—it was absolutely cursed in more ways than one! Idly wondering what the next theme on the next ten floors would be, he hoped it wasn’t as… crazy as this.
Recalling the Quaxwell back into their Pokéball, he would frown at the next prompt, before realizing what it meant.
It was either going to be Max, or his Rockruff… wait, when was the last time he called on Max, anyway? Maybe later…
For now, though, he would summon the Rockruff once more, letting the excited canid run around him in circles—as always, canines had a tendency to get the ‘zoomies’ before getting to what they needed.
A singular Roaring noise from the small canine would startle the Watchog and send it toppling into the hole in the bisected room only to plummet far below…
Yeah, the rooms being sliced in half really presented a walking hazard in more ways than one.
