Laguna was quiet as Sarah interviewed her Pokemon, it wasn't her place to interrupt and talk. She and Marina sat back, holding each other as they glanced around the alien world they found themselves in. It was so eerily beautiful, and there was no better place to have such a conversation.
A world that was not their own, but a world they would fight to allow those who came from here, to return.
"Marina?" She was speaking softly, to not interrupt Sarah.
"Yes, Laguna?"
"Thank you, again, for being my friend. I don't tell you nearly enough." Laguna leaned in, kissing the very top of her head.
The Brionne just smiled in response, kissing them back gently with a wet nose. "Always and forever."
When Sarah had finished with her Pokemon, she slowly managed to stand back further up. "It speaks leagues about the person you are, for your friends to praise you so highly. That settles it, then. We should finish the quest, and then I'll take you directly to Ash. We'll get you on the team."
Marina swam around in the air, grabbing one of the strange metal balls like a souvenir to take with her, all before flying over to kiss Sarah's cheek as well. "Welcome aboard, sweetheart."
"The next door we need, according to the quest, takes us to Mistra. So..." Her words failed her for a moment, steeling her nerves before speaking up again. "Be prepared, I suppose. Let's head back through, and find a door that leads to that hell, shall we?"

Laguna had to admit, she wasn't really sure what she expected when Orion called her over. But hearing him use more casual French definitely made her smile. He had this accent whenever he spoke, but it was incredibly cute. "Oh, really? 05W4lD, have you seen him?"
"Negative." It replied in its robotic tone, almost like a Speak and Spell, standing by her side. A few whirring sounds echoed from them, similar to the sounds of laughter.
"Maybe you should go search for them? Go have some fun, we'll catch up some more in a moment." She wasn't too blind, of course. Whatever conversation this was, it was probably better to be just the two of them.
"Beginning Search Protocol: Alpha." And with that 05W41D suddenly turned around, and with its feet like skis, suddenly shot off like a snowmobile, zooming across the room and back into the main party room.
She returned her attention to Orion and instantly noticed the nerves in his expression. What was going on? His voice was fading, thumbs twiddling, it was like he had something important to say. And important, it was.
Laguna felt her cheeks only growing brighter and brighter red at his words, about when they firstmet, how much fun they had, and then-
"Saint ciboire, Orion-" Her words died on her lips as soon as she spoke them, viewing the ring. She was not prepared, not ready for that. She felt torn between smacking him for getting down on one knee and giving her a near heart attack, and kissing him right away.
He loved her.
It felt like he had a firm grip around her own heart, squeezing it, and she had no idea how to respond.
So she didn't.
She was quiet, looking down at him as her eyes briefly glanced elsewhere. At her own UI, at purchasing the Couple Class.
Suddenly, hearts began to rise in the air around her, forming up from the ground and surronding the two of them as she reached out to grab his hand, and gently lift him back up to her feet.
"Orion..." She paused, slowly leaning in closer with that same lovestruck smile he was certainly familiar enough with by now. "You're such a dramatic idiot, you know that? You could have just messaged me, you didn't have to make me the perfect ring, and act like you're proposing all while we're readying for a raid unlike any other.. But, for the record?"
She suddenly leaned in, and without a single shred of hesitation pressed a kiss straight to his lips as she slid the ring from his hands and held onto it herself. "I'm glad you did, I love you too. I'll cherish this forever. But you know this means, I have to get you a gift back in return, don't you? I can't just accept this lying down, not without a chance to show you up." Her teasing grin returned, but she simply leaned in to kiss him again.
"But first, before we have another date where we show up each other again, we have a raid to win."

#s://i~imgur~com/XZEjIMt~png "Woah!" Abby thought she was prepared to be picked up, but to suddenly be this close, his arms wrapped around her and cradling her ever so gently, like something precious to be protected, it made her own heart skip a beat, blushing a bit herself.
And yet, despite her own nerves and the blush spreading across her cheeks, she was far more focused on something else. "You're blushing," Was Abby's only response, smirking up at him as she took in the sight. It was... kind of absolutely adorable.
With a twirl, more laughter spilled from her lips, having to grip around his neck tightly. She felt like at any moment, she was going to go flying, but knew far better than that. She was safe, she could relax.
With a wide grin, she'd swiftly lean in, placing her head against his shoulder as she relaxed for a moment. It was so, absolutely incredible. Moving, twirling, spinning, she hadn't felt movement like this in years. It was, beautiful. She didn't even say anything else, not for a long time. She just embraced the movement, allowing herself to twirl in his arms, heart continuing to pound faster and faster.
Abby didn't even realize when she was crying.
Happy tears, and nothing but, but they were already spilling down her cheeks. They had barely even begun, and yet her heart was melting. She had been dreaming of dancing again for so many years, she couldn't hold them back any more.
Only when the song was finished, was when Abby would dare even attempt to move. She'd pull her hand out from around his neck, only moving to cup his cheek instead. "Orion, you make this absolute dork, incredibly happy. Can we keep going? I'm not too heavy, am I?"

Laguna was quiet as she listened to the Pokémon, her expression softening almost immediately as soon as she realized what the conversation was about.
They were noticing things not make sense.
She figured that some Pokémon would recognize some of the strange circumstances, but that didn't mean they'd ever find any answers they could understand. Their... programming, would never allow them to understand that they were within a virtual world, a "game" for all that meant.
If only she had something she could say to put these fears at ease.
She'd purse her lips, only to slowly let out a long sigh and finally speak up. "I'm sorry, Tikani. I understand that this all must be so confusing. These things that Trainers can do, they defy logic. There is no rhyme nor reason to what we can do. We can teleport places, a "fast travel" you'll hear it called. We can increase our strength, and your own, with a flick of our wrist by spending money. We can message people without a phone, or anything. You're not insane."
She'd slowly flick her own wrist, small snowflakes forming in her palm, twisting and twirling until they melted into the warm air.
"Tikani, this world is full of so many unknown things, that we as Trainers, tend to take for granted. They are normal to us, for reasons that I can never put into words. We are victims of a cruel fate, in where the truth is even more bizarre than how it sounds. We got magical powers, we can swim beneath waves without ever drowning, and we can share our blessings with our Pokemon."
Her eyes would glance across the room to Mr. Business, the gentlemanly Mr. Mime skating across the room with ease, as he picked up another tray of drinks.
"You're not insane, in fact, dare I say, I think you're saner than most. But sanity, comes understanding. And that's hard. Because even should I tell you the truth, you won't understand. Just as Professor Ash could not. But, despite all that, I don't tell you any of this to worry you."
"I want to encourage you." Laguna was gentle, slowly standing up to her feet and reaching a hand out to gently rest her palm against their head, should they allow it. "We can do seemingly impossible things, but we also carry our friends with us on our impossible journeys. You know your trainer better than I do, you know how they are. I've only ever interacted with Alicia for such a short time. The truth is, all that truly matters in this world, the only reality that matters, is your bond. Love. I-"
Her expression slowly twisted into a sad expression, memories of her own popping into her head.
She really wished Glacia had been here for this conversation.
Wiping her eyes for a second, she'd speak again. "Sorry. I can't answer your questions, but I can tell you what is real. Your emotions, your heart, your soul. Never allow anyone to ever tell you otherwise. Just, talk to her. Even if you don't understand, even if they say and do things you can't fathom, just... Do whatever you think is right, and everything else will always fall into pieces."
Ding.
"... And if you would believe it, I just received a message myself." She'd chuckle ever so quietly, wiping her eyes again before stepping back to check it. Once again doing that familiar motion to open her messages, interacting with her UI.
"My boyfriend is trying to summon me, it seems." She'd give them a sympathetic smile, stretching for a moment. "I need to go, we're preparing for the fight ahead. But, please don't ever hesitate to come to me to talk, alright? If you need someone else to talk to, don't hesitate to talk to my Pokemon. They're all around the room. I am sure they've noticed many of the same things as you, and they all have their own thoughts."
With a polite smile, she'd have to get up and slip away.
She could only hope Tikani would find an answer that they could live with.
Laguna would make her way over towards the pool, only to stop along the way. She realized she never told Orion she was finally heading that way. She swiftly made a pitstop next to one of the newest additions to her party, a small robotic-like Pokemon, currently in the middle of staring at itself in a broken mirror.
"Yo! 05W4lD!" She called out the Pokémon's name, and suddenly the Iron Bundle twisted its head 180 degrees to look at her. It's eyes blinked, the lights fading and returning to mimic the action. "Can you get Orion's attention for me?"
"Affirmative." They didn't hesitate even for a second, suddenly twisting around and grabbing the metallic bag, or perhaps more accurately their weapon. A bright light suddenly charged, glowing, when all of a sudden nearly a dozen snowballs would launch from them, like a rapid fire machinegun of snowball destruction. Harmless, but no doubt perfect to get his attention as it would hopefully slam straight into him.
"Hell yeah." She'd hold out a first, and the Iron Bundle didn't seem to really know what to do. Instead of bumping their flipper back, they suddenly stretched their head out on a cable to slam into Laguna's own fist. "Hah! Perfect."
She'd then finally glance over at Orion, once his attention was suitably got, giving him a teasingly 'innocent' smile before sliding away towards the pool. Curious, 05W4lD followed suit. Just in case more weaponized snow was required. {CPR Points}Total: 4 BRING SNACKS AND HYDRATE BOND WITH YOUR POKEMON x2 SHARE QUEST KNOWLEDGE WITH OTHERS

The vine tapping at her shoulder had her caught off guard, but turning around to see the Bayleef immediately had her attention. Their words, however, seemed to imply some kind of tension. Relative privacy? Confused, and yet intrigued, she'd swiftly give eddiecayge a polite smile.
"I'll be seeing you around man, gotta mingle. Give this to Orion for me." Of course, she didn't actually have anything to give him. She'd just swiftly reach up and give him a solid thump on the shoulder, a powerful punch stronger than she looks, before just laughing immediately.
Mr. Business politely bowed, excusing himself to slip away for the time being, to offer a few other individuals drinks.
"Come on, over here." She'd finally respond to the Bayleef, giving them that same gentle smile. She'd lead them over behind the car stereo speakers blasting music, hoping that it made it harder for them to be overheard.
Once settled, Laguna would casually sit back onto a few milk crates. It only felt right to be at the same eye-level as the Pokemon, when they were having a conversation. No reason to force them to look up, and for her to look down at them.
No, they were equals here.
"So, is everything okay? I presume not, since you're coming to talk to me in private. But, what can I do for you? I'm sorry, I don't remember your name. Alicia Westfield is your trainer, right?" {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{CPR Points}Total: 3 BRING SNACKS AND HYDRATE BOND WITH YOUR POKEMON SHARE QUEST KNOWLEDGE WITH OTHERS

Laguna let out a long sigh, relaxing as she watched the sun slowly set across the horizon. Settling in between buildings as it set out across the city, the world ever so slowly shutting down.
It was so different being here at night. No lights of the great cities, just darkness. But tonight, there was no reason to sit in darkness, as pretty as the stars were.
"Let there be light," She spoke as she casually giggled to herself, flipping a switch. A few sparks flew, which made her cover her face, but eventually some lights slowly fluttered to life. Christmas lights of all kinds looted from abandoned hardware stores and a few lamps, powered by the collective of car batteries Orion had gathered.
A car radio and its speaker systems were hooked up to the very makeshift electric system, playing some soft music. She'd found a music store with at least a few CD's intact quite a while ago, it helped make the place feel more lived in, having something beyond the silence of the empty city.
She meanwhile, had attempted to make the place at least somewhat nice to relax in. Rugs, hanging curtains, and a few plastic potted plants everywhere. Hotel Plasma was, more like a second home at this point. Spending her evenings trying to fix up the place, hoping every day that some Ultra Beast or Player didn't come in and demolish the place. But so far, the place seemed to continue to stand.
She'd move over towards the pair of patched up lawn chairs, repaired with plenty of duct tape, sitting at the edge of the broken rooftop pool, and just collapsed into them. Sometimes, it was nice to just, sit back and relax.
... When she could keep her mind off of everything else.
A slight frown formed on her lips, remembering the abductions, the threats, everything else going on was so intense. But there was nothing she could do. Not until they had more information, as much as it hurt. As much as she wanted to be stupid and just dive into who knows where to fight who knows what to save the day, she couldn't.
She had to stay calm. The rooftop was her place to relax. Well, her's and-
"Orion?" She'd sit up, suddenly hearing a noise on the creaky old floorboards behind her in what remained of the crumbling penthouse hotel room. "And how are we doing today, hmm? Said something about a new friend?" She quickly spoke, the distraction absolutely welcomed.

It was hard.
Laguna didn't know what else to do.
Her heart hurt, but she couldn't just walk away from this. Omnia was gone, banished to the Everworld, and it was all her fault. There was only one thing she could even think to do.
Resolve the situation. Make peace with the Xurkitree. It wasn't at fault, she knew that. This probably wasn't even the same one that took her baby, Glacia. She could not allow herself to wallow in her misery.
"... Orion," Laguna eventually spoke, standing on the road as she looked out across the street to witness the Xurkitree. It's wires were all wrapped up through the abandoned vehicle, as if it was trying to consume it, or perhaps just figure out how it worked. She truly had no idea, but the fact of the matter is, it didn't seem to matter anymore.
"I'm going to talk to it." She'd steel her nerves, even as her heart threatened to beat out of her chest, the tears threatening to spill. "Maybe it can't understand me, but I won't hurt it. If we stand any chance of helping them... We have to figure it out."
"I'm sorry," She'd squeeze his hand, before finally letting go. "I didn't mean to get you into this. You suffered because of me, I..." She'd sniff, rubbing at her eyes for a moment. "I need to resolve this. Put this to rest. Please, come with me."
And with that, she stepped out. No Pokemon backing her, her muscles tense, but trying her hardest to remain calm.
As difficult as that was.
"Hey." Laguna spoke up, trying to get the attention of the Xurkitree. It didn't even seem to notice her at first, but then again, it didn't have eyes. She couldn't gauge where it saw from at all. "... I'm sorry." She spoke up even louder, her feet firmly planted onto the ground.
Her speaking again finally had its attention, a few wires untwisting from the vehicle, pulling out from its broken windows and shifting out to stumble outwards onto the road. It twisted about like a braided wire, spinning in place a few times before their form stood up tall and straight.
Laguna just stared straight up at it, hands by her side, one hand open, stretching backwards hoping to grab onto Orion's. "I didn't even attempt to understand you, I was just... angry. I'm sorry." It couldn't understand her, it didn't think like her. But she hoped, somehow, that something would get across. Something, anything.
Anything at all.
The Xurkitree just seemed to continue to twist about, bouncing up and down in place as it held up a few wires, electricity already sparking.

Laguna would politely wave seeing familiar and friendly faces all the same, it was nice to see people getting together. Even if the topic of the future was a bit intense, the only path towards the future was the one where everyone worked together.
Getting people to befriend one another before it all, could only possibly have positive impacts.
She'd immediately wave seeing Nero arrive, happy to see the man here. She would have immediately gone over to approach him, or perhaps the Bayleef of Alicia Westfield's that was seeming to stare at her, if not for a strange man suddenly approaching her. She'd raise her eyebrows as soon as he called her "Lady Laguna," but hearing that it was Orion's Cousin immediately had her relaxing after a moment.
She was unaware that he played UNOVR! Must be a fairly new player, she imagined. What a weird time to suddenly be meeting the family. When it seemed like nobody except Orion used their real faces.
"Ahh, Well first off," She'd smirk right back, seeing his hand to shake. Instead, she casually slapped it with a laugh. "I get him into just as much trouble as he gets me into. Dancing all night across the dunes, chasing down Ultra Beasts and finding a massive broken sundial out there after they vanished? Felt trippy, that night. Diving deep into the depths of the harbor and chasing the professor into doors between dimensions? There's so many down there. We're both veterans here, back from the very start. So we've kind of been around a while, been on some wild quests. There's been a lot going on lately too, and-"
"Punch? Miss Laguna? Sir?" Suddenly, a Galarian Mr. Mime wearing a full suit, and an elegant bowler hat atop his head approached, gliding across the floor like one of those roller-skating waiters. He was carrying a small silver platter, with plastic cups of punch to those who looked like they needed it.
He was supposed to be relaxing, but it seemed he was quite content with this role. As if he always needed to have some job to do, although she supposed she couldn't blame him. He's been pretty nervous about being on the front lines for true combat, even if he didn't show it.
Laguna rolled her eyes, giving him a gentle smile as she reached over to take her cup and drink. "Thank you Mr. Business. This here is Eddie, Orion's cousin."
"Ahh, and do you also engage in the talented art of fisticuffs?" He'd make a dramatic motion, carefully balancing the platter on one of his hands as his other curled up in a fist, imitating a boxer for a second. "One of these days, I've been debating on asking him how to throw a solid knock out punch."
"Well?" She'd turn to look at Eddie. "Do you?" {CPR Points} Total: 3 BRING SNACKS AND HYDRATE BOND WITH YOUR POKEMON SHARE QUEST KNOWLEDGE WITH OTHERS

The Precipice Shrine. Even now, as much as it felt like an eye of the abyss staring back at her, things had changed since she had first started playing. Articuno might not be visibly here, but his revival has undoubtedly changed things.
Small pink wildflowers bloomed where she knew lavender used to grow, and psychic energy danced across the rime of the shrine like it was somehow balancing across the surface of nothing.
It was, stunningly beautiful. She couldn't dream of a better place for this.
"Mr. Business?" Laguna spoke softly, glancing back towards her Mr. Mime.
The Kantonian Pokemon perking up, politely dropping his suitcase and adjusting his suit as he stood up straight. "Yes, Laguna? Is it time? I have to admit, I consider this quite exciting. A chance to be something new, a chance to evolve further than I am. Like a promotion, but for life."
"Are you sure?" Laguna would turn around to face them, gently holding her hands out. "You need not change, just because you know I favor Ice and the cold."
"Ahh, but you see, I have been intrigued about you and yours ability to glide with ease, ever since we met. I can only see this as an intriguing positive, my dearest." They give a polite grin, a dance in their step already as they bounced over towards Laguna to grip her hand in return with his own. "Although, I admit, seeing you so excited about skating has influenced me a bit."
She immediately laughs, grabbing to hold onto his other hand and hold it close. "Well then, allow me to teach you the very first thing you'll need to know, as a Galarian Mr. Mime."
"I presume this is the part where you want me to ask, what that might be?"
"To dance. I know you'll love it." Laguna immediately pulled him in with a twirl, his cute bowler hat immediately falling by the wayside, but he only laughed in response as he was twisted around.
She'd twist around, her feet effortlessly gliding across the ground, skating with a flurry of snowflakes around him, only to grab onto him again and encourage him to move. Back and forth, taking wide dramatic steps, enjoying every single motion. Within but moments, perhaps instinct, or just natural talent, they began to dance along.
And then the music began, her Starlet Partner's natural theme began to play, and Laguna could not help but immediately laugh. She recognized the song instantly.
It was a classic, she could not imagine anything fit the man better.
They danced and danced, and at some point her eyes closed when she was twirled, grinning and laughing, hearing his own laughter back. He was finally cutting lose, and enjoying himself.
By the time she opened her eyes and came back to a stand still, Mr. Business was suddenly a very different Pokemon. No longer did he have the widespread hands, but delicate mittens covering his hands. Large shoes perfect for dancing in, complimented his suit rather nicely. An an ice-like tie that laid overtop his suit, a part of him now. A proper Galarian Mr. Mime, but none of that was what made him seem so different.
He was smiling even wider than Laguna had ever seen him before.
"I say, you look quite dashing."
The music came to a stop, and Mr. Business suddenly looked himself up and down, seemingly not noticing the transformation in the process. Without a word, he kneeled down to finally pick up his bowler hat and placed it right back atop his head.
"I dare say, I am feeling quite giddy. I have a feeling I'll be enjoying dance night at the office quite a lot more now."
"Hah!" Laguna immediately laughed, rolling her eyes as she gently nudged him. "What office? You don't have a job! Unless you secretly sneak away when I'm not looking to file paperwork?"
"Oh, some secrets I'll never tell. Trade secrets, I'll have you know." A sparkle in his eye and a wink followed up. Mr. Business was back, baby. Better than ever.

There was so much riding on this. The fate of the Ultra Beasts, their Alien World, all of Ostelia, and combating the Corruption itself. Everything relied upon freeing the Ultra Beasts from Hearteater. The future of all of UNOVR hung in the balance, delicately like a sword dangling above them all hung by a thin string, waiting to just drop.
It didn't matter if we couldn't understand them, no beings should ever be forced to serve another. The Players of the NA server once stood up against a psychic threat that attempted to control their own minds, it was time to follow through and completely rid the world of such mind-controlling threats for all.
To that end, as soon as Laguna received the Voice Message from Ash, she knew what to do.
It was time to throw a party.
Not just any normal party, no. This was specifically to draw all the wayward players together not involved in Ash's secret scouting mission, and to get everyone involved to be working together as a team. Perhaps it was ill-taste to be throwing a party in the face of imminent danger, but sometimes you just gotta grease the wheels and get people to actually show up and discuss strategy somehow.
She had immediately gotten to work, spreading leaflets everywhere she could within the game, and then on the internet on every social media she could involving the game.
Finding Hotel Plasma wouldn't be hard, not with the many signs she scattered about the Nexus, like one trying to point drivers to your family's Garage Sale, at every intersection nearby. The loud music being played from a small bootleg MP3 player hooked up to several car speakers in a makeshift music system certainly helped too. Clearly an old run-down Hotel, that had been patched up a surprising amount. Broken floorboards ripped and replaced, ruined windows boarded up, but the hole in the ceiling right above the main lobby was still the fastest way to drop down from the 2nd floor.
Laguna had fully redecorated the Lobby, stealing every single rug she could find from every rundown apartment nearby in an attempt to make a proper Starlet dancefloor, and tables lined with snacks that she had politely asked Mom for, it didn't take her much convincing to provide for a party for her kids. That, and Laguna's own Pokémon were all over the place, none of them restrained by her Pokéball.
However, it wasn't just Laguna who had made changes to the place. orioncayge had converted the lobby fireplace into a makeshift forge for Ironsmiths, several anvils filling the immediate space and broken car parts decorated the area as scrap to be utilized. After all, this wasn't just a party. It was War Preparations.
She had no doubts that the lobby would be destroyed tonight by everyone's shenanigans, but that was the cost of attempting to host an entire server.
Once people started arriving, Laguna herself would stand atop the old, and albeit slightly dangerous, stairs to the second floor to call out across the lobby. "Welcome, everyone! It's time that we put our collective hearts forwards and show this world what we can do! Together!" She'd raise her wand, and her Pokemon from across the lobby cheered out.
"Hearteater, whatever it may be, is controlling the Ultra Beasts actions. We once stopped something from manipulating minds before, and we'll do it again! I encourage everyone to get prepared! Discuss strategy, find a raid buddy, get ready for everything ahead. CPR! Combat Prep Readiness! But after that!"
She'd make a big sweeping motion, pointing towards a hallway. "In the old drained pool, is a wooden test dummy! Once you feel ready, go ahead and give it all you got! Hit as hard as you can! Show us how powerful you and your Pokémon are, together!" Welcome to Heart Attack. This is a Mechanics-Light Scenario, to prepare for Part 2 of the World Event. As soon as Signups begin, this Scenario will end 24 hours afterwards.
Players will be collecting CPR Points, through their actions in the Scenario. You gain CPR Points by doing the following tasks. Each one gains you 1 CPR Point, and can be repeated. Multiple Tasks can be done in one post, just be reasonable!
Bring Snacks and Hydrate Discuss Combat Strategy Purchase Upgrades Listen to Another's Advice Bond with Your Pokemon Develop a New Technique Share Quest Knowledge With Others Theorize About Hearteater With Others Learn Another's Combat Capabilities Pick a Raid Buddy.
Once you collect 10 CPR Points, you may then head to the Wooden Test Dummy (constructed to resemble Necrozma) and do one Combat Post to practice Mechanical Combat.
This can happen at any time after 10 CPR points, and afterwards you can return to the Party for more socializing, if you wish. However, once you make your Mechanical Combat practice post, you will have completed the Scenario.

For a lack of a better word, Laguna was stunned. And yet, why should she be? Sarah's words immediately told her everything she needed to know about them. Absolutely zero hesitation, immediately wanting to join and sign up. It brought an immediate smile not only to her face, but to Marina's as well.
She knew they were friends for a reason.
"First of all, to be part of Plasma means that you... Well, view this world as not a game anymore. It's real as real can be. As much as that means. The rules are very simple, although when you ask Ash herself, I am sure she can tell you more."
Laguna would take a brief second to enjoy the sight of the metal rain, slowly relaxing into the water of the alien pitcher plant like it was some kind of hot tub. All that stress and worry evaporating so quickly as she smiled so widely, talking further.
"Secondly, all of your Pokemon must understand the reality of the situation. All the dangers within, and what we as trainers face. If they at any point decide to leave, they can, and will. Because-" She just casually handed the Golden Pokeball up to Marina, who balanced it on their nose like a beach ball.
"Because joining, means you break the seal. You don't own them anymore."
It was a heavy weight to share, and she allowed it to hang in the air for a few seconds before continuing. "My pokemon are with me, because they believe in me. Because I am their friend, or perhaps they are too scared to travel on their own, or any reason of their own. A Paras is within my number, who demands to find a suitable new trainer of their choice to travel with, but they're insanely picky. Which, does bring me to my second point."
"You can't trade Pokemon without their consent. This means no amassing 10 Pokemon just to toss into C.L.A.W.'s hands for an Absol, unless they all actually want to go to her. You can't catch Pokemon without their consent either because, well, the seal is broken. It doesn't work anymore."
"Plasma, is about acknowledging that Pokemon, like me, are sentient." Suddenly spoke Marina. The seal Pokemon dropping the ball back into Laguna's hands. "I come from the Lab, a "first-partner" Pokemon. Everyone knows that we get handed out to every brand new trainer. We never had a choice. But... Laguna, is my dear friend, and she proved herself again and again. She's jumped straight into the jaws of death with me, and I know she'd do it all again."
"And I promised I'd help her explore the entire world, when she reformed my flesh from clay in those vermillion halls of the afterlife. Even when she couldn't understand me, I swore it then and there. And now that she can, I tell her every day."
Laguna's heart just immediately melted, tears immediately spilling down her cheek as she moved to wrap her arms around Marina and give them a close hug. She didn't realize just how important of a promise from Marina that was until now.
"I-I-" She has to clear her throat to be able to speak properly after that heartfelt plea, but a smile remains on her face regardless. "I can take you to see Ash once we finish this quest, she's in hiding. Do you have any Pokemon you want to talk to now, before the moment comes? I didn't have a chance to talk to them ahead of time, I would have loved to know how they feel. While we are still somewhere that seems safe, at least. The next door we need to find will go to Mistra, after all."

"Pretty much right, yeah. Black and White's core themes were about Truth and Ideals. But, Plasma's original focus, their entire message, was that Pokemon shouldn't be owned. Of course, it was a criminal team in the end, corrupted by Ghetsis whatever whatever, because it was a video game. Because they can't actually discuss the ramifications on a whole video game series about battling Pokemon, if they're going to make more."
She lets out a soft sigh, ever so casually retrieving her Golden Pokeball to rest in her palm. She didn't really know what to expect. It wasn't as if she had some grand speech planned out, or the perfect explanation for everything. But, she supposed, it was more real this way.
Perhaps it better that it wasn't rehearsed.
This was just a genuine moment.
"Ash took that original meaning, of Pokemon Rights and has been running with it since her revelation that Pokemon can speak. Consent, Communication, and Agency. These are her core truths, and-" She slowly rolled over her Golden Pokeball to reveal the shattered seal. "They're mine now too."
As if on cue, without moving an inch, one of her Pokemon suddenly made themselves known. Marina the Brionne suddenly formed from the ball, escaping all on her own. They immediately swam around Laguna's head, only to immediately wrap their flippers around Laguna's arm like a gentle hug.
"What Laguna means to say, is that we're proudly Team Plasma, hon!" The Brionne would then blow a few heart shaped bubbles, giggling quietly to herself.
Laguna can't even be mad that they showed up to interrupt her. It was probably easier this way. She immediately let out a soft chuckle, reaching up to gently pat Marina's head for a few moments. "That too. We helped Ash escape from Asper, and come to Ostelia. During that whole trip, we accidentally ended up going through a door to a world like this. But, not quite like this."
"There are people out there, that are actively trying to silence her message... For example, C.L.A.W. had us arrested to try and gain influence over Plasma. And-" She has to take a deep breath to calm herself before she can even get mad at the thought, just letting it all out. Marina casually nuzzling her nose up against the trainer's cheek, a wide smile on her face. "I can tell you all about Team Plasma at some time, if you want. Even now, if you want. I mean, we got the time. But I won't pressure you, I promise."

"Oh. Uh, a secret one?"
Laguna immediately realized how what she said could spawn such confusion, blinking in surprise. She mulled over how to best address the whole situation, the whole depth of Plasma in one, solid conversation.
It felt like something that could stretch on for forever, even though all she needed to do was describe the barest basics. Right? Team Plasma, Ash was leading it. They escaped Asper and came to Ostelia. But that... didn't seem right. It wouldn't do it justice. It wouldn't really show the weight and impact of it all. And if she was going to tell someone, anyone about it. Especially a good friend like Sarah, she wasn't going to half-ass this.
She noticeably took on a more serious expression, slowly leaning against the interior lining of the plant, her eyes slowly scanning back away from the beautiful displays around them to focus on Sarah.
"Do you remember, at the end of the Thunderfall Event, Professor Ash was nowhere to be found? One of the loot drops was a Letter, specifically from her." She let that soak in for a second, debating on just re-reading the whole message before she ended up just continuing to speak. "She, hid a secret message in the letter. We met up at The Cat's Meow, and, well, is apparently a wanted fugitive. Her "Superiors" seem to be doing everything they can to stop her new mission, which is exactly why she's not been around for quite some time for everyone."
She slowly gazed out across the landscape again, watching a few globs of sap drip, drip, drop down the trees below. This place was stunning, beautiful. No wonder the Ultra Beasts wanted to return to their homes. Earth wasn't theirs. It wasn't their home. This world was as alien and strange as they were to the trainers.
And yet, as much as she did not understand the rules of this world at all, how anything lived, how anything could possibly thrive here, it surely did.
"... Sarah?" Laguna would turn her attention back to the other trainer. A sudden incredibly serious tone replaced her normal casual one. It wasn't Laguna talking anymore, that typical happy and excited tone she almost always had was swiftly being replaced with a far more natural, accented voice.
It was Abigaelle speaking. One couldn't talk about the true morals of their mission, by acting like something she wasn't.
"How much do you know about Team Plasma? The Team from Black and White games?"

"Yeah, let's just say uh- bad experiences. Tell you about it in a bit." She'd laugh it off, although perhaps it was a good thing that they closed the door so fast. Maybe if they were lucky, the players would presume they just fast traveled somewhere. But she was quite eager to go through a new door and find someplace else to hide for a bit.
Just in case.
"But like, even you gotta know! You can't exactly invite someone to your guild's hide out. Like, I can't walk you into the big ol' train Mythstar's got. Guild perks or something! I mean, I know you can change guilds! But, well you know." She'd laugh it off, swimming right behind Sarah.
That is, until they came across what looked to be a nightmarish looking plant. This was a door? A green membrane? What qualified for "Door" these days?
She had a feeling her and orioncayge would have joked about if this made the whole "Do you think there are more Doors or Wheels in the world?" debate even more complex, if plants were somehow included as doors.
"I have a feeling, this is to that alien realm. You know, some place in Ultra Space, probably." She'd slowly approach the 'door,' letting out a shaky breath. She had no idea what to expect, but she knew that any Ultra Beasts there would... be free from the Voice. So hopefully it wasn't going to be dangerous.
She pushed the membrance open, and suddenly water rushed like a rushing wave that pulled them straight through to the other side.
But luckily, they didn't go flying anywhere. It seemed they were sitting in what was simply the other side of the flower. Big enough like a bath tub, somehow holding the weight of the ocean as if physics didn't function properly here. She had to take a second to catch herself on the edges of the plant-lining, only to look up.
And simply be in awe.
They were in the middle of a vast jungle canyon the size of something like the Grand Canyon, except it twisted about in absurd ways, bending upwards and around as if she couldn't properly percieve it.
Massive stems of plantlife rose out from the canyon floor, and all around in every visible direction. Huge reddish-brown stalks that twisted and braided together, with massive twisted leaves that seemed to drip some thick, blue, gooey slime-like sap down below from glowing bulbous sacs that hung on the edges of each leaf, that soaked the ground and everything else below.
They were miles above the ground, witnessing the whole alien jungle from atop the canopy, their particular plant seemingly growing on the edge of one of the more common "trees" like some kind of symbiotic relationship. A few more seemed to cover other trees in the distance, some filled with water, others seemed to be filled with the sap from the leaves above as if catching it and feeding on it.
And yet, that wasn't even the most miraculous part about the landscape. She hadn't even begun to see it all yet.
Long twisting blue vines wrapped around these massive, gas-filled teal-colored sacks that floated upwards and into the air up above, glowing like a forest filled with its own miniature stars. Presumably, these plants flew closer up above the "tree" coverage to ensure they got light, or perhaps to avoid the sap? With the vines still tying them down somewhere so they didn't simply float off into the unknown? She didn't really have a clue.
Her eyes slowly glanced down to the ground, seeing the slime-like sap flowing down the trees, all the way to the ground blow like very slow vertical rivers and creeks that eventually touched the ground and shaped the landscape , fueling new life down below all the same. Perhaps that is how the whole canyon formed as a whole. The whole air was filled with this sickeningly sweet smell, vaguely reminiscent of licorice and mint, mixed with that classic pine smell. It was so absurd, but it actually smelled... kind of good.
She took a few moments to just breath in the air, a wide smile spreading across her face.
This place was beautiful. Multicolored flowers bloomed from the Gas-Sack vines, and the sky up above was swirling with multiple-colors almost like the Aurora Borealis. Reds and purples danced in the heavens, and yet close enough that Laguna felt like she could just reach out and touch them if she tried.
"You know? I've been to one of these alien worlds before, but it wasn't like this at all. This is stunning. Would you be opposed if we stayed here for a little bit?" Sure, hiding from any Creed members that figured out how to follow was partially on her mind, but on the other? She really wanted to soak in the memories of this place.
It really was beautiful, in the most alien of ways.
