#s://i~imgur~com/XZEjIMt~png Booth Bethany was genuinely adorable. Their blue hair almost reminded them of their hair in-game. For a moment, Abigaelle debated on dying her hair blue but decided against it. She did kind of like her current hair.
But maybe she should get a wig. Having an outfit to look like her game self was a cute idea.
She waited patiently in line, checking the time on her phone now and then to make sure she wasn't running late. She had so many places to be later, and even though her work hours had wrapped up, she couldn't help but want to check in on everything, make sure the event was flowing smoothly, and all that. Finding a healthy work/life balance in the middle of the most exciting period of her life was going to be impossible.
Lost in thought, she didn't even realize she was up next at the booth for a moment. "Oh!" Abigaelle suddenly replied, grinning almost shyly as she reached up to place her ticket on the counter. "One Prize Ticket from Splashmother's Landing!"
She debated saying more, maybe making some casual conversation, but Booth Bethany was no doubt going to be busy. Still, with any luck, she'd be back here many times. "Thank you! I'll be back, for sure!"

Abigaelle was not expecting to go and play games with her new boss, but Bryan really was just that very chill guy that made it so easy to do. It was a no-brainer that she'd join him.
The vessel was a literal Subway boat, which felt a bit egregious in its product placement. Regardless, it was for a silly minigame at the con. She just laughed, grinning ear to ear as she twirled across the deck.
The island they had landed on was perfect! "Aye aye, lots of delicious stuff if you know where to look! Although I admit, I've never had sea grass before." She'd carry the handfuls of seaweed to the teenager at the helm, or... more accurately the register? This was bizarre even for her. She swiftly decided not to think about it.
Before she could properly turn back to the island, her eyes glanced over at the other boat nearby. A man (The Captain ) and a little girl on a much more reasonable boat. How sweet. "Good luck over there!" She'd wave happily, before bounding back over to the island and leaping ashore. Her feet trudged through the wet sand.
Only to get pinched before she could really search through all the small tidepools.
"Yowch!" She screamed, kicking her foot, as a crab seemingly had pinched on tightly. After a few moments of awkward hopping, she lowered her foot back into the water and it suddenly let go and began to swim away.
"... Wait a second. Crab tastes great!" She suddenly shouted, smirking ear to ear as she dived in to grab the back of the crab, free from its pincers. A little karmic revenge always tasted good on the dinner plate. "Hey Big Bee ! Do you know how to prepare crab? Seafood was kind of a rarity for me!" L6n0IpSs1d10 1d10 1d10·1d10

#s://i~imgur~com/XZEjIMt~png She had spent the majority of her time on the bus just quietly thinking. No music to distract her from the time spent traveling, just softly smiling to herself as she stared out the window. So many faces, so many people. It was almost intimidating, rolling out onto the bus alone. People looked at her, stared, and before, that alone would have been terrifying. And yet, she was feeling far too happy to even consider their judgemental stares.
She was dressed in her finest suit, even if her wheelchair did have a few Pokemon stickers over it. Her hair had been brushed properly for the first time in a long time, and she actually felt excited as she put on makeup.
That hadn't been the case in a long, long time. She felt good, genuinely. Looking confident was half the battle, but she actually felt it. The email that they had wanted an interview alone had her crying tears of joy. Actually being here, flying out, moving in, it was like a dream come true.
Her bus didn't take her directly to the Hydance offices, she still had a bit to roll. And yet, once she had finally made her way outside, she couldn't help but just stare up at the building for a few minutes. She had planned to show up early on her first day, but the awe of what she was doing was almost overwhelming for her.
It was like a brand new start. A redo of years of neglect, self-hate, and fear. A chance to succeed, to truly be the person she had always dreamed of being. The one she used to be.
The person she always had been, just buried beneath that fear.
No doubt she was still going to struggle, she knew that. There would be days when she felt like nothing was going right, that everything was wrong, scared to get out and even go to work.
But right now, at this moment, she felt proud of herself. She had set herself out to accomplish something, and she did it. Abigaelle had to stop before she started tearing up and ruining her makeup, so instead she just laughed at it all, grinning incredibly widely. "C'mon, Abigaelle, Lâche pas la patate." She whispered almost in irony, before finally pushing through the front doors.

#s://i~imgur~com/Pui5FhG~png This wasn't the first time she moved, but it was certainly the most memorable. San Francisco was such a strange city. Her old home back in Quebec had nothing on all the accessibility options, and wheelchair-friendly public transportation here.
It felt good in such a foreign way.
This was her new home.
Her new apartment was nothing to write home about. Fairly bland and not exactly cheap, but it was pretty accessible. The view wasn't anything to write home about either. A look down at the roads below, and taller buildings surrounding. Her first meal had been pretty garbage pizza, paired with a dozen crappy juice boxes that made her stomach uneasy.
And yet, she had never been so happy and excited at the same time.
When she had first moved into the place, tears of genuine joy had begun dripping down her cheeks. After over a year of spending her time wasting away in a virtual world, a world that did not influence the real one, did not change her situation, yet made her happy. A world where she escaped from her trauma, forged friendships, bonds with people, and forgot her worries.
But now, everything was different. She was working for Hydance.
The company was smaller than she expected, given all of its fame. She had expected to try and get a job using her artistic skills, not her management or people skills. Those had been, well, long forgotten until recently. She was going to be working as an Event Coordinator. Even if it was a diversity hire given her disability, Laguna couldn't care any less.
All her time put into the game, caring about it, and trying her hardest to make it better, wasn't wasted, nor had she been wasting herself. She was going to be working with so, so many others who had been influenced by the game, touched by it, and changed for the better. And she couldn't wait to be an even greater part of it.
Picking up her new lanyard and ID, Laguna readied herself for her first actual, full day. All dressed and ready to go, she adjusted her wheelchair and almost rolled straight out the door, before realizing her phone was still on her bed. Carefully making her way back towards it, she picked it up and instantly smiled softly as she stared at the lock screen.
The doodles of her Pokemon, from that very depressive day when she first got out of bed and started applying for jobs. Smiling, happy faces, she couldn't help but smile right back.
"... I'll see you guys after work." She spoke to herself, gently tucking it into her purse, and finally made her way out the door.

As Zapdos slices through the skies, wings whirling great slicing winds, she's nearly toppled from her flying board, clutching down as her HP is visibly low. Her body aches, exhausted, struggling to keep up. And poor Glacia had fainted, giving everything to protect her from the worst of the winds. She's been blown far away from the wings, from Zapdos, even far away from Bergamot Gristleborg , as much as she would have wished to remain close to keep helping.
Far from the immediate conflict, Laguna had a clear mind to listen and watch as everything unfolded. Zapdos's words held merit, and Ash had suddenly agreed. With all the new information she had, it seemed only reasonable. There was no need for any more violence.
Sacrifice was not necessary.
Perhaps sometimes there was no other way.
But this time, there was one.
Before she could fully dwell on the moral complications of everything, the challenging questions left before them, the pop-up began, and she froze as time did. Before them all laid a choice, and not just which area to take. A choice of how the future of UNOVR would handle its expansion. The easy option of just fighting everything in their way, sacrificing Pokemon after Pokemon, legendary after legendary, until the world was pure of corruption but littered with corpses and empty shrines.
Or they could find another way. A path filled with mystery, unknowns, and fear, but a path she could live with.
She imagined Glacia would be proud of her for making her choice so quickly. Even if Ash lost her job, even if Mistra remained covered in corruption, the only path she could live with was the one of less hurt.
For all involved.
As a lonely support low on HP, Laguna's head whipped around as she fought to find someone, anyone, that she could assist in the same goal. She had no idea what choices other players would make... Except Bergamot Gristleborg , she was pretty sure she'd be 'evil' about it.
Her eyes finally locked onto a familiar face, plummeting down, and she didn't even hesitate. Running to the end of her board, Laguna leaped off into the air.
"By the power of the Sun-" She chanted, twirling as she descended at rapid speeds. Flames formed around her, leaving a trail as she dropped down at terminal velocity. "May our future burn as bright as my burning passion-"
"SUNSTEEL STRIKE"
Flames exploded everywhere as if an asteroid just entered orbit. Laguna's direction suddenly shifted course in a fraction of a second. Suddenly flying like a rocket through the skies, blasting toward her falling friend.
orioncayge would only have a few seconds to notice the magical girl on fire flying towards him before her arms scooped him up bridal style. The empowering warmth of the sun overwhelms the two of them, patching up their wounds, restoring their strength, and for Laguna, a wide smile spreads across her face, despite her pained heart.
"Well? Last time, we danced against each other. I presume we made the same choice, so... may I have this dance?" Music slowly began to play as Laguna would land the two of them atop one of the Light Screens.
She'd allow him to drop to his feet, only to hold out a gloved hand with a faint smirk. "Come on, bandana boy. Let's finish this battle together, dance with me. The sun and moon, you and me." Heat radiated off of her, burning like the sun on their own personal dance floor in the sky.
Despite the fear of the future, decisions left unknown, and the struggles that lay before them, Laguna's smile refused to fade.
She wouldn't be going through it all alone.

Mechanical (Hard)ZONE B Laguna can't help but frown as she listens to Ash talk. Just who was accusing her of not caring? Her eyes would whip around the field as if she could somehow judge people on look alone and figure it all out.
Ash put everything she had into this, her own personal finances to fund this mission, confident that it was the only possible outcome.
And yet, look what she had been given in return. Fighting, anger, misunderstandings. Even as the massive elevator begins to crumble and Zapdos surprisingly rescues those that fall. Even as Zapdos dares them to find another way and refuses to sacrifice himself to cleanse but a small part of the world, he rescues people.
And Laguna's heart just slowly broke as she tried to figure out what to do. Her energetic twirling and dancing paused, before just speaking and responding to Ash.
"... He wants you to find another way. The shrines use their power, their life energy. They'll be a fragment of themselves if anything, when it's done. He's scared, Ash. And yet... he's still rescuing people from falling." Laguna frowns to herself deeply, as she looked at Bergmite in her arms, a confused and saddening look on its own face too.
After a deafening moment of internal silence, she listened to orioncayge shouting in the distance, hearing Bergamot Gristleborg ramble about the evilest action to take, she genuinely didn't know what to do. "Glacia..."
"Mama?" Glacia suddenly spoke, looking up at her as she read the question before it was even asked. They spoke confidently, despite the sorrow in their expression. "I sacrificed myself before I knew you could bring me back, back on Beta Island. I was ready to die."
"You were just hatched..." Laguna cradled them close all of a sudden, fighting the urge to tear up. "So young, and innocent."
"And I gave up my everything then. And then I did it again for Moltres. And I always will. But it was so scary the first time... I know his fear. It's my fear."
"But I'd still do it, I overcame my fear. Even if you couldn't rescue me, I'd do it. If the power I hold helps everyone, then it's selfish of me to keep it. No matter how small."
Was it wrong of her, to hold the morals of a legendary Pokemon, against a Bergmite's? How many times has she sacrificed, and how many times will she have to keep doing so? Glacia had grown so wise beyond her years, in no time at all. Pokemon matured so rapidly, it was almost a shock.
Steeling her expression, Laguna slowly nodded as she spoke to Ash again. "Professor, I'm with you. All the way. I trust you. I don't pretend to know where this will lead, but I trust you to lead us there. No matter what happens, I-"
Bergamot Gristleborg's Glaceon suddenly asked her what to do, cutting off her conversation. And yet, perhaps it was for the best. A sorrowful smile formed on her face as she put the flying surfboard into a hovering position. "Focus on the shrine, bring it down. Zapdos is just as scared as we are, but standing around helps nobody, not even Zapdos."
Laguna placed her Bergmite down gently on the board, speaking with a soft tone. "Show Zapdos what you got, lil' gal."
With a serious nod, Glacia stayed close to protect and Guard her trainer as huge chunks of ice began to rain down upon the shrine from above, an Avalanche formed from the water vapor in the sky, frozen swiftly.
With a twirl of her wand once more, Laguna began to dance. The violin music grew somber as she spun, but no less effective as the frozen winds acted at her beck and call. A cooling breeze washed over the Glaceon, soothing the strain its own attacks placed upon it, and strengthened it once more.
The cool winds spread out around her, once again bolstering Glacia's strength and hardening their ice spikes, and yet blew further. Jinx's Marshtomp had been on the brink of fainting as the soothing chill healed them up. And their Cryogonal's Ice Shards grew more powerful in strength, aided by the buffs Laguna spread.
In the end, Laguna could only hope that it was enough.
GOAL (ALTITUDE 2): -291/5141 (-40 from the buff to Cryogonal already added.)

Mechanical (Hard)ZONE A ESCAPING TO B Laguna had no idea what had happened while she was gone, but returning and hearing what Zapdos had to say, what Ash was saying over the comms, but it was enough to see that chaos had erupted.
Then again, maybe that was the challenge in a big raid like this. The end result was never straightforward, and sometimes the most moral choice wasn't there. And yet, she couldn't help but feel at least some semblance of pride as the Everworld spirits assaulted Zapdos. That part of Glacia's spirit burns within the legendary bird.
But that cutscene.
The glimpse of the past, hidden lore. That the birds at one point had fought to clear the world of corruption, and it overwhelmed even them. And now that he was free, mankind was to attempt and claim his power, with the support of his sister in combat.
What exactly was she supposed to do?
Glacia stood by her side, looking up at her ready to battle, but confused as Laguna didn't order any commands for combat. Not yet. Instead, she just activated her communications to talk to Professor Ash.
"... Ash, I understand there is chaos. I am sure this message finds you overwhelmed, and many others are reaching out now as well. But-" She finds her words failing, and just moves to grab her flying surfboard and drops it near the edge. The elevator was falling, there was no reason to stay on it after this.
Scooping up Glacia in her arms, she spun on the platform for but a brief moment, cradling the Pokemon close, enjoying their presence despite it all.
"But you know who I am. I am the person who climbed into the afterlife, the Everworld, four separate times to rescue my Pokemon, or to rescue a Pokemon abandoned by others, left to rot. And you know the thing about that is? It changes you."
Her eyes glance out to the wave of Everworld Spirits that had come to their rescue, and she made a silent note to ask Seta about it, before just returning her attention to Ash.
"It teaches you a lot about yourself. About the world. About Pokemon. And if there is one thing I have learned-"
She pauses, looking down at the little Bergmite in her arms, grinning with a confused look up at her trainer. "Is despite that they are Pokemon that you can't always understand, that you can't comprehend, they are capable of so much more than we could ever, ever know. Their intelligence, their emotions, are as real as you and I."
"... And Zapdos." She pauses, frowning as she glances at the massive thunderbird, betrayed by his sister, and assaulted by the players seeking something that he owned. "... Zapdos is afraid."
"Ash, after Groudon gave his all for us, claimed Beta Island as ours and the Corruption fled Asper, his shrine is silent, empty... What happens to the Pokemon, when their shrine goes empty? What kind of Sacrifice are we making?"
Regardless, of her worries, her thoughts, her fears, she couldn't just stand idly by. She had no answers to these questions, no solutions. But she could help the others stay standing, ensure they keep moving, keep staying alive until the answers eventually revealed themselves. Until they knew how to fix everything.
Finishing up her message, she finally kicked the board off the edge of the platform and dropped straight off. The engine of the surfboard roared to life as she flew. "Glacia, Icy Wind. Carry us over there, and blow the shrine away."
The Bergmite cheered with a chance to act and huffed and puffed, only for the breeze around her to grow incredibly chill, and paired with her Tailwind from her twirled wand, it sped her along, attempting to shake Zapdos's grip even as they soared over to one of his wings. Swerving around storm clouds and burning spirits, only to find a familiar sight surrounded by hail.
She was wearing that goddamn wig again.
Laguna couldn't help but laugh as she circled around Bergamot Gristleborg. "Well hey, hey! New favorite style, huh? Or just flattering me?" She didn't waste any effort, just grinning to herself as she designates her Glaceon as her new dance partner, and she twirls in place atop her board. The cool air swirling about her washed over Glaceon, healing their wounds, and strengthening their drippy, wet fur as violin music filled the air. "Time to chill out a bit, and rest your nerves! Dance with me!"
Of course, the cold air then washed over both herself, and Glacia, and she just took in that breath of fresh air, her wounds healing. That was better. Much better.
Now if only there were a way she could just, heal the whole moral dilemma away, that would be really nice.

Moltres.
Zapdos was calling upon Moltres, and she couldn't simply stand by and allow that to happen.
Glacia looked up at her as she heard Ash speak, only to hop up into her arms. "Let's go mama, we can talk to her."
Laguna had no idea what to say, but she wasn't about to just stand around debating. There was no time. A quick dash over towards the smaller platforms left her teleporting to the shrine right away.
And there Moltres remained, their feathers still aflame with rainbow light, the kind that purged the corruption. The exact kind of help they needed now in this difficult time. Only Zapdos's messenger had got here first.
She remained calm, taking in a deep breath as the calming chill from Bergmite's touch soothed her spirit. But in the presence of Moltres, it was hard to ignore just how powerful they truly were. And yet, despite the fact that they clearly had the ability to strike them all down where she stood, she dared to hear them out. To hear the human's side, to prove that they knew what it means to fight.
Laguna let out a deep breath, stepping forwards and just speaking out her heart. "Moltres. While you may fall and be reborn again, humans may not. Humans have but one single life to do everything they want to do, one life to succeed or fail by their own measure. Their own character."
She steels her nerves, feeling Glacia suddenly hop down from her arms and stand in front of her. "But that is precisely why we fight. We humans fight to make a change. To make the world better for a future that we might never get to see. We plant the seeds of a better world for those who will have long forgotten us. We fight because we know that every single life is precious, because this corruption will destroy everything, not just what we hold dear, but the world and everything with it. We can not allow it to spread. We can not allow the world to suffer, not when we have a chance to make things right. And Zapdos stands in that way."
"Your brother calls us greedy. Spreading across the land, befriending our Pokemon, and discovering things long forgotten. To his words, we are selfish." She pauses, only to motion towards her Bergmite. Their cold aura swiftly begins to warm up, tiny flames erupting from their frozen spines like candles. "But he forgets the sacrifices we make!"
Laguna shouts out this time, "We humans have survived because we don't give up! Because nothing can stop our will, not dream parasites, corruption, or even the living storm itself. I have fought my way down to the afterlife itself to rescue Pokemon from oblivion. Fought tooth and nail with every fiber of my being, to keep this world better than I fucking found it."
Laguna's staring up at Moltres with such an intense fury, anger burning in her eyes. "And I will keep fighting, with or without you, even if it means I have to sacrifice everything I am, everything I have. Even if you join him and we have to punch you in your god damn face, we won't stop. Because even if we lose now, even if we are struck down... Just like you, we will rise up out of the ashes and try again."
"I have died twice," Glacia suddenly spoke with wide eyes up at the phoenix. "... I even once gave you my everything, to make sure you came back." The nervous look on the Bergmite's face swiftly began a confident smile, grinning as wide as they could. "It would be a glorious day to fight along your side again."
Laguna's eyes widened, glancing down at Glacia once more. Did they mean to suggest sacrificing herself once more, or was she just entirely overthinking it all? Should the prompt appear...
She steeled her resolve, hoping it would not come but already knowing the choice she'd have to make if it did. She couldn't take her words back... but she found herself not wanting to, either. She had meant them, wholeheartedly. She'd fight through a thousand trials if it meant the world was better for it.
This world deserved it.

Mechanical (Hard)ZONE A Laguna couldn't help but grin madly as the elevator ascended into the heavens, ready to confront Zapdos and take the shrine back by force.
As far as she was concerned, these Legendary Pokemon probably considered it a test of some sort. Perhaps to see if we deserved to keep it, to take it for themselves. Zapdos's motives were still confusing, but whatever the case may be, a fight was still a fight.
As orioncayge exploded into the distance with all the might of a powerful volcano, she couldn't help but immediately laugh. There was no way she was letting him show her up this raid.
As Sarah Lee approached, asking about her dancing shoes, she instinctively twirled. Her Trailblazer Kicks already leaving flames along the ground with every movement. "As if I ever leave home without them. But I got a few tricks up my sleeve, too." A curved, swirling wand twirled out from behind her gloved arm, appearing with some sleight of hand.
"Mama?" Glacia spoke, carefully resting atop her trainer's flying surfboard, just in case it was needed for the event. "Just like we practiced?"
"Just like we practiced. You'll do great." She leaned all the way down to kiss the tip of the spine of her Bergmite, listening to its sweet, adorable giggle.
"Shine like the sun, mama."
"Oh, we will. We both will."
With another quick peck to the Bergmite, she turned around to finally face her first dancing partner of the night. "Chell, might I have this dance?"
The two of them twirled together, and as boulders tumbled down from above, Glacia joined them, emboldened by the winds coming from Laguna's wand. With a powerful cry, large chunks of ice rained down as well in a powerful Avalanche as she fought to remain in front of the dancing duo to protect her trainer.
And yet, Laguna began to glow.
Her skin began to glow with a burning intense heat that radiated off her body, even as flames suddenly erupted all around them like they were the center of an erupting star. Flames danced across their skin, spreading down across her arms and spreading across the Emboar. A warm, welcoming heat that soothed their wounds and empowered them with the strength of a mighty Sunsteel Strike.
And then, the sun exploded.
Like several coronal mass ejections, waves of radiant heat and energy erupted outwards from her, washing over specific targets nearby. A wave washed over Tuesday 's Rotom, she always heard sun tea tasted nice. It spread further, blessing orioncayge 's eruption with some extra strength of its own.
But it wasn't quite done, as the flames began to flicker and die the few remaining washed over h0lyn3v1l 's Snivy, soothing its wounds after such a brutal slam.
GOAL (ALTITUDE 3): 908/7000 (deducting the 360 from buffs distributed) Note: System Admin adjusted to 908 from 838 ZONE A DISRUPT: 1406
