Mythology always described man being created by the gods from clay, molded like an artist seeking some form of perfection. If she was to be a god, she imagined it would be somewhere a bit more glamorous than kneeling in freezing waters, struggling to feel her fingers.
She'd take a large chunk of clay into her hands, warming it up with what remained of her body heat. Only then was she able to even mold it with any detail, her fingers carefully squeezing the clay into a general shape. Shaped generally like a seal, Laguna silently began to go to work. She couldn't dare risk being distracted, not when Marina needed her most.
Detail after detail was slowly added, flippers merged with the main mass of the body. Her fingernails getting absolutely muddy as she used them to carve away the details. Her eyes, so sparkling and full of life, seemed so dead as clay in her hands. But she couldn't let that stop her... no matter how much it terrified her. She had taught herself long ago that the work in progress art was never perfect, she couldn't just start over.
She risked a glance up at her pokemon, who was further away by now. The water still rushing past, the rapids pushing them away. Her spirit was beginning to wane, growing weaker and weaker. The fear began to sink into her stomach like a lead weight, there would be no second chances.
The skirt-like fins were more difficult than anything else. Thin and wavy, multiple times they had simply fallen apart or squished together while working, and leaving the most delicate parts for last when her hands had gone entirely numb did not solve the situation either.
She had just managed to get the clay figure somewhat decent, enough that anyone could look at it and recognize what Pokemon it was supposed to be, when she heard a loud cry from the Brionne, and suddenly silence.
Laguna looked up in a panic. Silence. Nothing. Just the water rushing by, and fear swarmed her soul. She had taken too long, her poor girl couldn't have swam so hard for so long. Her own insecurities with her art, even as something as simple as this, had slowed her down.
She was gone from view, but there wasn't any time to sit around and worry. Feeling sorry for herself wouldn't help. If there was one thing Laguna had learned from her past trial, is that it always seemed to be a moment where everything looked hopeless.
A moment where it tested just how far you'd go.
The freezing woman didn't say anything, in fact she was moving almost before she could even properly think of what she was doing.
She ripped her feet from the clay that had held her in place, and dived into the freezing cold waters, allowing herself to be swept downstream with the clay figure ever so carefully cradled against her chest.
It wasn't perfect, but it would have to do.

It took Laguna a few moments to even figure out where to begin. If she tried to break free of the clay that held her so firmly in place, she'd be swept down the river without any chance of success. And yet, there had to be something she could do. Ducking beneath the rushing waves, she only found more clay as the ice-cold waters froze her to the bone.
As if expecting to find something within the clay, she began to dig her fingers deep into it, only pulling out large chunks of clay. It was cold, frozen, and hard, but it slowly became a bit malleable in her hands as it absorbed her warmth. It only froze her hands further, but an idea slowly began to form.
An old memory surfaced, of a time when she was happy. Just a little girl, playing with playdough and making little sculptures of her favorite Pokemon. It seemed like such a silly thing to remember, but feeling the clay within her hands she quickly made the decision.
She didn't know if there were multiple ways to pass these tests or not, but it was the only thing she had to work with. Marina was almost intangible, barely pushing against the rushing waves. Like a spirit without a body, Laguna would grant her a new one. She'd make it with her own two hands, kneeling in the freezing river.
"Marina," Laguna began practically having to shout over the sounds of the rushing waters. "Just hold on! I'll be there soon!"

"A shared death is not a shared fate..."
It made sense, even if it hurt. The truth always did. Her eyes wandered across the statues filled with masks of other pokemon. How many other players abandoned their pokemon? Didn't bother to rescue them?
After all... It was a game.
But to her, she couldn't do that. They went out together and she refused to leave Marina alone.
She'd never leave anyone alone if she could help it.
Before Laguna could really process just how deep she had fallen for these virtual Pokemon within an artificial world, the Trial began as she pushed through the darkness.
A wide rushing river stood out before her, the only thing keeping her from being swept downstream was the thick clay that held her in place. It surprised her for a moment that she began almost instantly soaked as her back was splashed by wave after wave. She was so used to being a Swimmer and being unaffected by water. It sent a chill up her spine.
It was insanely cold, her teeth chattering instantly as she struggled to look around, brushing the water from her eyes. And that was when she saw her. Marina, the new Brionne, swimming nearby.
Laguna almost immediately laughed out with joy, grinning widely for just a moment, forgetting her predicament. She was safe, if only for now. The Brionne was popping her head up out of the water, watching her trainer. And yet, the water was so fast and rushing it was pushing even the swimming seal further and further away. Her body appeared almost intangible like the water was rushing straight through her and she had no chance to resist but join the endless stream, of perhaps the River Styx.
And yet, she refused to give up either. Perhaps they really were perfect for each other.
"Hang on Marina, I'll rescue you! I promise!"

And here she was once more.
Everworld.
Laguna's eyes once again scanned the statues with masks of the lost. Her lips turned into a soft frown, sighing and closing her eyes. She was going to have to speak to Seta again, explain herself and her failure to ensure the safety of her pokemon.
And sure enough, Seta approached once more and Laguna steeled her nerves. She didn't know exactly what she was going to say, but she was going to have to figure out something.
As they began, Laguna stood quietly, just waiting for her turn to speak. It was the exact same script as last time. Perhaps it was just tradition at this point.
"I know why I am here, Seta. I am prepared for a test, I know what to expect." She finally turned to look at their golden mask head-on, trying her best to hide the anxiety that was building up within her. "Marina is my friend, my first pokemon. She only just evolved, because I believed in her, because I was proud of her. I refused to let her white-out alone, I was with her. We jumped together."
She sighed, the anticipation of more pain was not something she was looking forwards to, but she would push on regardless. "I know she wants to return. My pokemon are... stubbornly heroic, for lack of a better word. I don't think she's ready to accept death yet, there's so much world to explore together. So many people to see, so many things to do. And I couldn't imagine just, giving up and not taking my very first friend along with me for the ride. I can't promise I won't end up back here. I'm sure you know as well as any that death is inevitable, one way or another. But I can promise you that I'm going to be trying my hardest to keep my friends strong. To keep them smiling, and to never give up on them. They deserve that much, don't they?"

The air is a little muggy today, a far cry from the traditional dry and dusty air of the Asper settlement. Perhaps it's simply the fact that she's playing super early morning, that causes this morning dew to grace the world? Or perhaps it's something more interesting, like the town's obvious gothic nature?
Regardless, she couldn't sleep. She had a big project coming up, and it was definitely a bit stressful. Instead of sitting at home and managing her stress naturally, she decided a walk would do her some good.
A proper walk. Not just wheeling herself down the sidewalk, an actual walk.
With a soft smile on her lips, Laguna pressed forwards as she walked through the small settlement with her eyes scanning the buildings around her. Just what had people been constructing recently? She had hardly spent any time here, unfortunately.

The Camerupt had been absolutely devastated, as everyone had a Pokemon that evolved mid-combat. Was this a scripted event? Some sort of programmed battle feature in the dungeon? She didn't know, but honestly, she didn't care. Marina was awesome now! And totally badass too boot!
The ground shook, and bugs began to burst out from everywhere. "That's it gang, let's go!" She clambered into the minecart again, quickly pulling along her two Pokemon before Roxy shot off into the distance, digging away into the earth again. The inside of the minecart was now so full of gemstones, there wasn't any solid ground to stand on. She was almost paralyzed with indecision on how to help out before orioncayge shouted out.
Dig you fools.
She laughed at the perhaps unintentional Lord of the Rings reference, finding it oddly fitting to the situation at hand. "C'mon, you heard the man! Let's get to work!" Clambering out of the cart once more, she and her pokemon ran to the front of the tunnel as fast as they could.
Bergmite's hard shell had melted a bit from the intense heat of the magma before, but that was nothing another HARDEN couldn't fix. Her spikes grew larger and larger, ready to break some stone.
Laguna had to work quickly with no physical strength or Pokemon moves on her side. All she did have was clever thinking and these gosh darn fancy tooltips. She rather quickly figured out any stone described as a Heavy Stone, was immediately too large or heavy, or simply unorthodox for her to toss backward, leaving it to the more muscular amongst them.
She did, however, manage to glitch her hands and slip into a few cracks in the wall, ripping out a few large sheets of rock that already looked super loose. As they crumbled to the ground of the cave below, she couldn't help but wonder. Perhaps they were coded to tumble inwards and on top of Roxy as soon as they were reached? Definitely dodged a bullet there.
"Glacia!" Laguna yelled, staring at a rather large crack in the cave wall. "You know what to do! High Jump Kick!"
Bergmite yipped in response, suddenly pouncing forwards with intense physical might, slamming through the crack in the wall.
Only to immediately be buried by the rubble underneath as it collapsed all around her as she burst through into a small opening. There was no escape, and Laguna could only stare and watch in horror as Glacia fainted so quickly. She couldn't even breathe, paralyzed once more.
It took the gentle tugging of Marina on her hand, for her to even realize to retrieve the Bergmite back to their ball. Poor Glacia... She had done nothing but follow orders. How could she let this happen again? If only she had known, if she could have somehow-
Without warning, Marina suddenly slapped her fin against Laguna's face as she blinked back to reality. For once, the Brionne had a serious look on her face. She was still smiling, as the species almost always did, but her expression was much more solemn than words could describe. She had grown so quickly, from a scaredy-cat to a firm guiding hand.
Er, fin.
"You want to fight, don't you?" Laguna spoke calmly, even as she lifted the Brionne into her arms so they could run together. That was all that she could even say. That look in the seal's eyes, there was no dissuading that. She had seen it once before...
What was with all her Pokemon? They all wanted to be a hero. To give everything they had to protect the person they cared about... But it wasn't enough for Laguna. If they were planning to go out in a burning blaze of glory, for better or for worse, then so be it. But Laguna will never let one of her Pokemon go through that alone.
Never again.
Laguna nodded at her starter Pokemon, the understanding between the two obvious, even without any words being spoken. And suddenly, she careened to a halt and turned around to face the horde of bugs.
The sheer number and size were overwhelming and Laguna felt her heart sink as she forced herself to remember. This was only a game. All the pain wasn't real. It didn't exist... But her pokemon were real enough for her. That was all that mattered.
"Aaaalright you bitch-ass buggy motherfuckers!" Laguna shouted at the top of her lungs, proudly clinging Marina to her chest as she began to blow bubbles all around them. Building up and up, filling the cave as much as the little pokemon could. "You want some of this, you demonic hellspawn? Go back from where you came you overgrown cockroaches!"
Marina's bubbles had been strong enough for her to bounce atop, so Laguna decided to attempt exactly the same. She leaped forwards, her feet finding purchase atop one as it squished beneath her feet, and suddenly the two of them were launched forwards off of a bubble trampoline.
"Eat Bubble Beam, Bitches!"
Laguna shouted as loud as she could as Marina suddenly began to blow out the biggest bubble beam yet, wave after wave of bubbles poured from her snout, the force even keeping them aloft for the briefest of moments. It shredded bug after bug, popping and exploding all over them.
And yet, what goes up must come down. Laguna braced herself, attempting to ready herself for the pain.
Despite all the fear, the apprehension, the impending doom of slamming into the ground with her exhausted Brionne, and being shredded by bugs, she couldn't help but laugh. Almost grim, like a cackle as she was mere moments away from making a bug pancake with her own body.
It hit her all at once. Maybe her own Pokemon are such damn heroic fools because it's all she ever wanted to be herself. Someone who could make a difference. Why else would she be stupid enough to do this? And at the moment, it was just, funny.
And then, splat.
WHITE OUT
Laguna: Dig 10, Tooltips direct her to rocks she can even lift! 10, Glitching her hands into loose cracks, and rips them down! 10 Bergmite: Dig 10, Hardened Ice Shell with Massive Spikes! 10, High Jump Kick crumbles rock, but sometimes it has a price to pay. 10 Brionne: Attack 10, Eat Bubble Beam, Bitch! 10, The Supportive Bond of Trainer and Starter, Motherfuckers! The volcano cooled, hardening into cold stone, and she let out a sigh in relief. She could only imagine how terrible everything would have gotten had she not stopped it all.
And yet, it seemed she didn't stop it all. As the Megastone was plucked from the middle, the volcano awoke once more as a Mega Camerupt revealed itself.
With Roxy's Mega Evolution, Laguna was once again in awe. It was a proper kaiju battle! It was incredible! Grinning widely with a wide laugh, Laguna shouted out. "C'mon gang, let's shred this camel! Glacia, Rain Dance!"
The Bergmite on the ground would grin widely, suddenly dancing back and forth, bouncing on its feet as clouds began to form up above, pouring down rain paired with the burning rocks falling down from above. Hopefully, it would help cool things, and make all their water attacks stronger!
"Now, give it all you got! Glacia, Icy Wind! Freeze that rain!" The Bergmite proudly presented itself, whipping up a cold, chilling wind that blew through the rain, turning it into a slushy storm.
"Marina," Laguna would turn to look at her Popplio, only to find it looking nervous. She wasn't there to fight against Kyogre or C0D13. She had never handled anything like this before, and the stress was clearly getting to her. Laguna immediately frowned, moving to wrap up the Popplio in a hug. "C'mon girl, you got this. I believe in you."
And with that, she'd give the seal Pokemon a gentle kiss on the head.
Marina immediately perked back up again after the kiss, ready and raring to go. Her trainer believed in her, and that was all the motivation she needed. It began to blow bubbles, more and more, clearly attempting to blow the biggest bubble it could. Bubbles filled the area around them, almost literally covering them up entirely as they continued to blow and blow. And suddenly, a bright light began to glow from within.
When the bubbles and the dust settled, Marina had completely changed shape. To the acrobatic dancing seal known as Brionne, and she was bouncing all about with ease. Her acrobatic tail had her bouncing on bubbles with ease over and over again as it blew a terrifying blast of BUBBLE BEAM towards the Camerupt. It's dancing dodging around falling rocks, retailing with intense force!
"Woo! That's my girl!" Laguna shouted out with intense pride swelling within her. She had to find some way to help out too.
And yet, she couldn't fling water at their foe, or defend Roxy like Orion was able to do, with his punches. Just how was she supposed to assist mid-combat against a boss? It seemed almost a bit too much...
Perhaps she should just grab loot while she could. Dodging through the raining boulders, intent to grab a few shiny gemstones before her eyes caught on something else. Her tooltips revealed more tasty rocks that have been revealed by the falling boulders, and she got a wicked idea.
Gathering as big of an armful as she could, Laguna scrambled back over towards Roxy. "Here you go, big girl! Eat up! Regain that strength!" And with that, she'd begin tossing them up into the Mega Steelix's mouth like a baseball toss.
Bergmite: Attack 10, Rain Dance to boost other's water attacks! 10, Icy Wind to chill the storm and freeze the Camerupt! Brionne: Attack 10, Biggest Bubble Beam Ever! 10, Acrobatic Dance Dodging! 10, Super Effective Move! 30, Evolve 50 Laguna: Heal 10, Falling Rocks reveal more Tasty Rocks with her Tooltips! 10, Gives Roxy some Rock Candy to regain her strength! 10.

Laguna was of course, quite pleased that her offering of rocks satisfied the Steelix's stomach. It always was a little passion of little baby Abigaelle to read the Pokedex entries. The story of Lapras returning from extinction always got to her.
With a smile, Laguna clambered back into the minecart with her Pokemon, carefully standing amidst precious gemstones. There really wasn't much room, but it would have to do. She high-fived her Popplio and pressed a quick kiss to Bergmite. They were doing fantastic work!
As they continued to dig, it got hot... Too hot. She was clutching her Bergmite to her chest, the cool air around it helping keep her at least somewhat cool, but it was definitely approaching an unbearable heat. The earth around them began to steam. Not a good sign.
They blasted into a new cavern, and she was immediately in awe. Melting ore spilled below into what appeared to be the top of an underground volcano. Or, was it just a lava lake? Semantics aside, She hopped out of the cart right away as the danger began to make itself known. Roxy was in danger, and so were they.
She ran towards the lava lake, Freeze Grenade instinctively in her hands as her Pokemon bounced off after her. Sliding to an edge of a cliff, she was just moments away from chucking it in, before pausing. There was no way she could get close enough with this heat, and she only had one shot. It was melting hot, and it was getting hard to even think. The heat raised up in front of her from over the cliff and the lava bubbled and roared in front of her intimidatingly. As if it was welcoming her in, inviting her to its warm and deadly embrace.
"Glacia!" She called out, the Bergmite finally catching up to her. "HARDEN, please! Bring all that water in the air and harden your shell! Keep us cool!"
She'd proudly present herself, the ice shell atop her back growing larger as she rapidly cooled the steam around her. Laguna immediately let out a sigh of relief, readying her arm as she stretched. She might have a good arm, but even she doubted she could toss it all the way into the middle of the lava. "Marina, I need you baby. Blow your frozen winds to help carry this forwards."
After the Popplio nodded, Laguna took a deep breath as she aimed her best. Without another word, she reared back and suddenly pulled the pin. Tossing it forwards as hard as she could, Popplio immediately blew out an intense ICY WIND, blowing it forwards towards the middle of the lake!
As it soared forwards, Laguna cheered out with a pump of her fist. "Bullseye! Gonna be, anyways! Let's help it out guys, give it all you got!" Popplio continued to huff and puff the frozen air for as long as it could, but her Bergmite had other plans.
It was time to attempt to freeze hell over. Summoning the frozen strength from within, frozen clouds would begin to form up above. Circling and spiraling about before slamming down massive shards of ice after ice in an AVALANCHE.
Laguna: Extinguish the lava 10, Wind Carrying Grenade Forwards! 10, Comfortable temperature to focus! 10, Use the Ice Grenade 100.
Popplio: Extinguish the lava 10, Icy Wind to chill the Lava! 10,
Bergmite: Extinguish the lava 10, Ice Shell Hardened with an aura of cold air!, Summoned an Avalanche! 10. Use an Ice Attack 30. Extinguish the lava (210/200) Total

"Woohooooooo!" Laguna cried out as the cart crushed bugs beneath the heavy wheels of its minecart. No wonder these things were in so many video games, they were fun! Even still, she audibly gasped as the roof revealed itself to contain so many bugs. That definitely didn't look enjoyable, in any sense of the word.
As they were yanked into a cavern with beautiful blue crystals, her eyes widened. It didn't matter if they were worth a damn, they were gorgeous! As soon as Roxy stopped drilling, Laguna hopped out. Looks like it was feeding time!
Of course, it didn't take much time for Laguna to recognize the threat of Grabbers. After not only Mr. Westfall warned of them, not only did the adorable water spider of orioncayge 's get yoinked into the sky, but so did Lucky Guy ! Thankfully, both were rescued, but she immediately became a bit more wary as she searched around for food.
"Glacia, Marina, you two stick together! Gather up what gems you can for the cart, while I get Roxy some snacks!" The two pokemon would nod at her, the Bergmite still intensely dizzy from it's spin, before they split off from their trainer.
Being extra careful where she walked with the dangers of grabbers, she kneeled down along the ground as she began to search. Just what would a Steelix eat? Probably tasty minerals! But, what minerals were tasty? After picking up a few rocks that seemed interesting, she licked them, only to just chuck them aside as she gagged. "Yuck, bad choice."
Perhaps it was time she tried another one of these "features." Or, was it a bug? Regardless, Laguna activated her UI and began to inspect element on various rocks. There seemed to be... so many stats and code for a single piece of rock. It almost overwhelmed her.
However, eventually, she finally found a few stones that were labeled "Tasty Stone" according to the UI. They didn't look all that different, but perhaps they had juicy minerals inside of them! She didn't bother licking these ones, just trusting the UI. Has it ever lied before? She'd grin widely back at Natsuki , showing off her prized tasty rocks as she ran.
Her Pokemon across the way, were hard at work gathering up as many gems as they could. Or at least, they would if they weren't so short, and all these gems were on the ceiling. They seemed to let out a few noises back and forth as if arguing how to handle it all before coming to some kind of conclusion with another nod. Glacia took in a deep breath, all before covering the ground in a thick layer of POWDER SNOW.
The Popplio, meanwhile, began to blow bubbles with its nose. Blowing up a large massive bubble, she suddenly climbed atop it, delicately balancing before bouncing up towards the ceiling like some kind of acrobat from the circus! As soon as she was up there, she followed up with an AQUA JET, slicing past rocks filled with glimmering gemstones as they fell to the snow below, acting as a sort of cushion to prevent them from breaking! Everyone knew bigger rocks meant more expensive rocks!
Glacia, not to be outdone by her bouncing friend, readied herself by crouching for a bit, only to jump into the air with an impressive leap. Slamming into a stalactite filled with gemstones with a HIGH JUMP KICK and cracking it apart! They themselves would tumble down into the snow, before chomping down on a few pieces and eagerly carrying them over to the cart.
Laguna: Find food for Roxy 10, Beta Tester Tooltips 10! Bergmite: Collect Precious Gems 10, Powder Snow to cushion the fall of gemstones! 10, High Jump Kick is super effective against rocks! 10 Popplio: Collect Precious Gems 10, Bouncing Bubbles! 10, Aqua Jet Rock Cutter! 10.

The mists never got any less creepy. They really didn't, even if it was beautiful. It was a sort of beauty that would be found in a horror movie, twelve seconds before the killer climbed out of the bushes and tackled her to the ground with a knife.
Or perhaps more accurately, in this case, razor-sharp claws. Bergmite in her arms only had a brief moment to toss up a Protect before the blades slashed across Laguna's chest.
"Aiiee!" She'd practically scream out loud. "Fuck, you're sneaky!" Bergmite would hop straight out of her hands, attempting to tackle the Sneasel and slam it into the ground with its weight.
"Get him!" Laguna cried out, quickly scurrying back out of the immediate range of the pokemon battle. It was only after she was out of the immediate danger did her cheeks turn a slight pink as she realized just how much that scream embarrassed her. It was a good thing nobody was around to hear it.

And here it finally was. The Precipice Shrine. Or at least, it appeared to be the case. A massive hole that went down for infinity. As far as she knew, it probably actually did. Video games loved their infinite holes. Even still, the mist was beautiful, and awe-inspiring at the same time.
Laguna sat right at the edge of the shrine, looking down into the depths below. Her exhausted Bergmite atop her lap, tired from its recent fight, looking down as well. "You think... maybe it leads down to the Everworld?" Laguna idly rambled, causing her to get a strange look from Glacia.
"I don't know, man. Giant pit? I mean, it's silly, but it's fun to think about." She'd laugh quietly, digging into her backpack for a few moments before pulling out a few fruit-gummy snacks. Sure, there was no need to eat virtual food, but it still tasted nice.
After giving Glacia her own little pack to devour, Laguna tossed her own into the pit. "Whatever legendary is here, say hello to Seta for me, huh?"

Laguna climbed up into the cart, her eyes wide as she looked all around. It was kind of impressive, really. The size of Steelix was almost a bit intimidating. Just how scary would it be if they caught one of the larger pokemon as well? Goodness, when was UNOVR going to add the Wailord! With the Swimmer Class, she could totally fly on a whale!
Or, well, after she equipped it with a saddle. And, well, didn't just soar off into the sky. There was still a limit to some of these things, after all.
Her mind wandered, dreaming about flying whales as they were pulled deeper underground. The Freeze Grenade in her hand was balanced carefully as she examined it over and over. It was kind of a marvel, a part of her almost hoped she'd get to take it with her afterward!
Suddenly, the ground ruptured and a swarm of health bars made their appearance. A bunch of ugly bug-like monsters dared to show their face, and she frowned. "Eww... Definitely don't like. Let's squish these bugs, y'all!"
She tossed out her Pokemon into the cart alongside her, being very careful not to crowd out Lucky Guy and Mr. Westfall. Her Bergmite was unable to even see over the cart, while Popplio grabbed the edges with its fins.
"Glacia, you help Roxy dig. You're can do this. Just remember what we practiced. Spin to win!" And sure enough, she would pick up Glacia, who'd give a wink to confirm she was ready. A few of her ice spikes were glowing akin to tv static, only to suddenly shine with a metallic sheen as she used HARDEN in preparation.
Laguna suddenly reared back, tossing the Bergmite forwards.
"Let it rip!"
As soon as she was in the air, Glacia used RAPID SPIN and barreled forwards like a speeding top out of hell. Landing on the tip of her hardened ice spikes, her intense spinning would hopefully at least make the rock easier for Roxy to dig with.
"Aight, Marina! Do what you do best!" The seal would turn around to face the Steelix, watching as a few pokemon were already attempting to help out. She, of course, thought this was the best thing in the world. It was so nice seeing pokemon care for one another. She began to clap her seal fins together in cheer, encouraging the Dewpider and the Froakie to keep up the good work with an ENCORE!
Laguna's eyes quickly scanned the environment to see just what she could do. Using up her grenade on the first wave seemed like a bad idea. As the cart was pulled forwards and bugs continued to approach, she got an idea. Perhaps it was time to test out a few bugs of her own.
"Everyone, hold on tight! I got a dumb plan, but if it works, it's gonna be freaking hilarious!" Pixelation would cover her hands and feet as she suddenly leaned with all her weight. With any luck and a little bit of physics engine bugs, the minecart would glitch into an oncoming rock and send either it or the cart flying into a few of the bugs and squish them dead when the game's collision detection reactivated. Considering the cart was being dragged along and strapped to the Steelix, she certainly hoped for the rock.
Bergmite: Help Roxy Dig 10, Hardened Spikes 10, Rapid Spin Drill 10 Popplio: Heal Steelix 10, Motivational Inspiration 10. Laguna: Fight off the bugs 10, Massive Minecart 10, Beta Tester Collision Glitch 10.

There were two! No wonder Glacia went flying so far! As what she thought was one Cryogonal finished its spin, the two split apart from one another.
As soon as the other woman in the opening calls out, she quickly nods her head in response. "Left! Got it! C'mon Glacia!" She'd ready herself, getting a little bit too into the fight as a wild grin spread across her face.
Her Bergmite charged forwards once again after it scrambled back to her feet. "Glacia! Rapid Spin right back at 'em!" The miniature iceberg immediately began spinning rapidly, spinning almost akin to a Beyblade.
Sure enough, the Cryogonal she was fighting began to spin once more. The two clashed over and over again, spinning around one another almost exactly like those battle tops. Except, one was able to fly. Cheater.

"I swear, it's around here somewhere." Laguna mumbled to herself as she wandered around trying to find the Shrine. She swore that she had been following her map straight, but these winding paths through the timberland, paired with the mist, made it hard to gauge her actual progress.
In any case, she heard the sound of combat! Did wild pokemon attack one another in this game? Did they only attack other players? Completely unsure, she followed the sound of the fight. A fire roared as a Fire Spin surrounded a Cryogonal, and she couldn't help but feel a little bad for the poor snowflake.
"Hey!" Laguna cried out, sliding down a root of a tree as she clambered into the little clearing. "Lemme help you out with that!" Before she could even get the other's opinion on the matter, she tossed out her own pokemon. The Bergmite popped out of its ball, standing proudly.
Only for it to suddenly glitch out completely. Their body glitched back and forth, tv-static illuminating from inside her ice spikes. "C'mon girl, High Jump Kick! Let's try out that new move of yours!"
Glacia the Bergmite let out a cry, crouching down for a bit as it readied itself, only to pounce incredibly high into the air. She seemed to almost vanish for a moment amidst the trees.
In the meantime, the Cryogonal began to rapidly spin like a buzzsaw, ready to strike either of its new foes. Suddenly, the Bergmite came slamming down from the sky into its spinning form. The two clash before being launched apart. Ice grinding against ice, leaving shards everywhere.

"I mean, if the game lets you make it a two versus one, well I don't see why not!" She'd give him a wide grin, even as she turned her attention back to the tall grass. It was incredibly hard to see what was going on, but the sounds of confrontation were obvious.
"Uh, Marina! Use Disarming Voice!" Even if the pokemon themselves were having a hard time seeing one another, sound didn't exactly care whether or not one was visible.
A loud cry echoed across the plains, grass rippling as the sheer pressure of the sound waves blew them away. For just a fraction of a second, the pokemon engaged in combat were visible, the Patrat's teeth were clamped down hard onto her Popplio's tail, as it desperately tried to fling it off. And just like that, the grass settled back to its normal shape and hid the fight once again behind rustling blades of grass.
"Huh? Oh, yeah! Poochyena! Do you also fight one in the remakes? It's been too long since I played it! I picked Mudkip as my starter back in the day. Popplio, however, is just so adorable. I hope they're doing alright in there. You know... If this game doesn't have a lawnmowing side-quest, I'll be disappointed!"
