"You know, every time I go somewhere, I wonder why it is you do that." She'd climb up overtop an old car, standing atop the roof. It was old and rusty, but enough to still hold her weight and give her a decent enough vantage point down the streets. "It's like, you don't know how to be yourself. Or, maybe you just really like me?"
"I don't know what the truth is, but I'm sure we'll figure it out eventually."The Nihilego says nothing, just floating right next to Laguna atop the car.
Laguna pauses to listen to her ears, hearing the sounds of noises in the distance. Unfortunately, with the amount of Players floating about getting into who knows what, there's no way to really know what is and isn't an Ultra Beast.Except if she hears a Pokemon Cry, that is. That was almost certainly not an Ultra Beast. Silent, she continues to focus before hearing a cracking sound fairly close by. Another Player or Ultra Beast, it didn't matter. It was better to be cautious, and wrong, than be caught unprepared.
She immediatly grabbed her wand from her waist, twirling it in front of her as the winds picked up. "Alright, where are y- What are you doing?"
Laguna glanced over at Omnia, who having no immediate analog for a wand, seemed to rip the car antenna off the wreck and wielded that.
"God, that is so adorable."

It took a while of deep thought, but the best thing she could think to do to help research why the Ultra Beasts were capable of confronting the corruption so casually, was to convince others to somehow join her.
And then... take them to Asper. She didn't like the idea, worried what was happening to them. Just how intrusive was The Voice? Clearly they responded intensely to being pulled away from it, but that only meant it had a location.
There was, probably, a defined place where The Voice was coming from. And if anyone could find it, she had her faith in Cygnus. He had discovered wilder things before. And yet, the task filled her with no small amount of worry. Proper combat seemed inevitable in the end. She couldn't explain herself to the Ultra Beasts she encountered, even the ones in her care didn't truly understand her. She was hoping to change that.
"Are you ready to go, Omnia?" She wasn't confident in the nickname, but the Nihilego hadn't complained yet.
They floated by her side, moving forwards through the city streets at the exact same pace as Laguna did. Their almost ghostly form swinging, tentacles swaying in a shockingly similar way that Laguna moved her arms.
"... You are, way too good at that."

Laguna couldn't help but wonder how Zapdos felt, leaving his Shrine here, while he was back across the sea in Asper. She gazed upon it as she felt its power flow across her skin, letting out a long sigh.
It was a sign of trust.
Somehow, through everything, Zapdos had enough faith in the humans that roamed this land, to gift them with his shrine. He didn't have to, he didn't even have to bring them here, we could have just taken some massive boats, or built our own planes instead of giant magnetic cannons or whatever they had during the assault.
"We even attacked him, not knowing his true intent. And yet, the best way to repay him, is to help stop the corruption. I don't know when he's last taken a rest, fighting against it..." She sighed, closing her eyes as she fully embrace the power that washed over her. In time, she had come to enjoy the feeling of a storm within her gut.
"I wonder... what he, would think of Plasma."

Laguna's gaze crossed across all the different doors of below, almost in awe. There were many that seemed normal, if somehow normal could be applied to this situation. Standard wooden doors with a handle, nothing out of the ordinary.
And yet, she found some that stood out so strongly, proving very tempting. A small little pet-door, that absolutely had no chance of fitting anyone their size through. But, maybe the Tatsugiri could? Wouldn't be safe sending a Pokémon somewhere they couldn't follow, though.
A pair of elevator doors that would presumably need pried open wide, a screen-door with the see-through screen simply bleeding light like one would find leading out to a porch, and even an old wooden door, made from sliced logs like it was attached to a log cabin out in the middle of nowhere. And yet, one caught her attention above the others. An old house door, normally rather boring an uninteresting, if it wasn't for the fact that it seemed like it had somehow sustained fire-damage at one point in its life. The wood was charred, burned up its side and the panels were peeling.
"This one." She'd point out, swimming down towards it. "They're all interesting, and we could spend forever doing this. But, even you can admit the visible damage just tempts you too, doesn't it?"

Laguna had been enjoying the peace of the moment, gazing upon the shipwrecks in reverent awe of the past, when Big Bee mentioned his UI was being weird, and it pulled her out of the moment.
She instinctively attempted to open her own UI, only to frown as it seemingly failed to do so. Now that was certainly odd. "Yeah, it's acting weird. Think we're about to like, float into the equivalent of an important cutscene? Something grand to be revealed that we can't miss?"
"... I don't know what they are talking about. What's a cut scene?" Spoke Bertha, looking up at Toot, the duck likely back floating atop its head. They were swimming far more confidently after conquering that threat earlier.
Quiet whispering filled their ears, only making them look more quizzical. "No, no I don't think it has anything to do with actual cutting. But you know, that would make sense."
Laguna slowly stood up, a soft frown forming on their lips as they attempted to look around. Was it danger? Perhaps a friend? New location? "I don't really-"
Her gaze drifted upwards, and her words died on her lips. She said nothing more, slowly reaching up and pointing her hand towards the sky. Nothing she verbally said could explain the awe she felt looking upon it.
A massive spiral formed in the heavens, stars twinkling overhead almost in succession, as if they themselves were aware of their new shape. A spiral in the heavens, twisting and turning down into on itself before a bright central star shone so brightly.

Nihilego"Nihilego. Does that name mean anything to you?" She'd idly glance up at the jellyfish Pokemon, who was seemingly lounging on a couch across from her.
Laguna had a habit of crawling into apartment buildings that had long been abandoned and making it a small home. A little hideout, away from the chaos of the city. A place where some of her smaller Pokémon could run around and play, without fear about danger swooping in out of nowhere.
Currently, she sat on a small couch, facing another one with a table in the middle. Her legs crossed beneath her, looking over across at the Nihilego on the other couch. Their tentacles wrapped beneath them like some mockery of her own legs, leaning forwards just as Laguna did. They had no face, no way of expressing emotions except body language, which she was having a hard time picking up when it just copied her all the time.
Laguna eventually laughed, leaning back into her seat, and watched as the Nihilego leaned back as well. "I'm... not going to lie, you do terrify me. But that's only because I don't understand you. It's easy to fear the unknown." She'd mumble to herself, even if they didn't recognize her words, it was good to say them. "Some Pokémon that looked like you, took some friends of mine... And I know it's not their fault. The Voice is responsible. But that fear still lingers."
"Tea is ready." Intruded another Pokémon all of a sudden, Mr. Business carrying in a small tray with a Teapot, and two cups of tea already poured. "Sugar and honey, as I know you like it." Strolling in, he'd place it down on the table, only to immediately move to walk back out to the kitchen.
How he managed to get the electric stove working, using a few car batteries and the wiring from a washing machine, she'd never know.
"Ah! Thank you Mr. Business." She'd smile politely, nodding her head as she moved to grab her cup of tea.
On cue, the Nihilego grabbed her own. Their tentacle wrapping through the small hook on the cup and carrying it as daintily as Laguna was.
"Do you like Tea?" Laguna spoke, moving to take a small sip.
All the while, the Nihilego just held up her mug and dumped it straight against their head, approximately where a face would be, spilling straight down and onto the couch.
She couldn't help but just smile widely. Even she had to admit, that was kind of cute.

The remains of Nimbasa City. There was, clear as day. It was an exciting development to see even more cities that were, well clearly still ruins of what they were. She couldn't really say the same for any settlements that were in the region now known as Asper. Maybe some fleeting ruins remain, but she had never found anything inherently recognizable.
Although, maybe that was the Corruptions fault? The Corruption seemed to be threatening to leak in from the realm beyond, but Ostelia itself was still mostly itself, albeit ruined to time. Was there something innate about Corruption that changed the world as a whole? Or-
Come to think of it, why was Ostelia oddly clear of corruption? There weren't many clear answers.
"Graffiti huh? Well we gotta check that out! I'll scout out ahead, make sure we're not walking into danger. " She hummed in thought, casually leaping forwards straight off the head of Roxanne, using her Rainbow Flame Cloak to casually glide straight over towards the nearest walls and booths. Her eyes scanned around, searching around for anything that might jump out at them before deciding it seemed mostly clear and finally scanning over the walls.
The Everworld is Empty and all the Phantoms are Here
"I-" Laguna was suddenly dumbfounded, staring at the writing on the wall. Did the people of time's past know about the Everworld? Was it just a classic myth, like Hell? Or, was it something else? She doubted the caretaker of The Everworld would give her any answers to the dillema.
"Josh, you should come take a look at these. Some are just, pointless doodles. But if I know how these things go, there is probably some hidden lore and secrets tucked away within stuff like this." She'd wave over, Roxanne finally lowering their head and allowing the other trainer to climb down easily enough.

Laguna was unsure what to do, all she knew that if its tentacles touched her, it was game over. Her heart pounding away inside her chest, staying frozen. The Nihilego did absolutely nothing as well. Absolutely nothing.
Eventually, Laguna could stand it no more. She had to move an arm up, brushing away the nervous sweat that had been building. Only to, curiously, watch the Nihilego mimic her. A tentacle reached up, brushing against its glass-like dome. She blinked immediately in surprise, slowly shiftng back and forth. It seemed to follow, swishing backwards and forth slowly. Another hand raised, another tentacle, it was like looking in a strange, misshapen mirror.
Perhaps she shouldn't have been surprised. The parasitic Ultra Beast would mimic people, but for what? And why? What was it gaining from this? She tried to wrack her brain together, trying to remember everything they knew about Nihilego. The only thing the Pokedex Entries talked about, was its parasitic nature, the neurotoxin, driving those it infests mad, and...Acting like a little girl?
It was, almost kind of sad. The idea that you were not whole unless you posessed something else. Was that what they were doing? Did it remember her?
She hoped it was the same one as back then.
Taking a risk, Laguna gripped her Pokeball in one hand, and slowly held it up with a gentle smile. And sure as can be, the Nihilego reached up its own tentacle in resposne, reaching out until Laguna outright touched it with the Pokeball, sucking it inside.
"You... I'll help you find yourself." She spoke softly to herself. Perhaps she was innapropriately personifying this creature, this being, but at this point, she imagined wanting to help it was solely a good thing.

She was here again. The time where she had first understood that Ostelia was populated by Ultra Beasts. This very same spot, staring into the distance. She had readied to jump into the water and swim before realizing what dangers laid within.
But she knew more now. She understood. Plasma meant something more. She knew she had to do better.
It hadn't even been that long, but already she was seeing things differently. The Nihilego was an alien, unknowable and incomprehensible but if she didn't at least attempt to communicate, then what was she doing?
If only she could find the same one.
Laguna appeared alone this time, standing on the shore as she looked out into the water. There was only one real way to find it. Fate.
And so, she stood on the shore, completely still, hoping, imagining that the Nihilego would arrive, and that somehow, she could communicate. Maybe... a dance, or simple gestures. Anything that could communicate a concept. She had lost track of how long she had been staring out at the horizon. Her gaze drifted to the shipwrecks all in the distance, just dreaming, wondering what kind of place this must had been so long ago. The people here must have been happy, before it all fell apart.
The sun had already begun to set, and she was just starting to give up hope, turning around to go somewhere safe and log off. When she nearly bumped straight into the Nihilego that had been floating right behind her for who knows how long. Minutes, perhaps hours? She really hadn't been watching.
Laguna stiffened immediately, not moving. She didn't know what was going on, or what to do, but she didn't move a single muscle. It just floated there, silently, without any words, like a ghost watching the living. Perhaps it was... curious.

That one hurt.
Laguna was laying atop the ground near the shrine, feeling the funny feeling of the Shrine's power flowing through her. It was like rain in her bones, thunder crackling against her skin. It was unlike almost anything felt before, except from this one single shrine.
She wondered if Zapdos felt like this all the time. Like the power was just in his bones, his being, his very soul.
How did the other Legends feel? She had unfortunately only met Moltres face to face, Articuno, or should she say King Articuno, was stuck within the Dream World. But were they similar?
She couldn't imagine what it must have felt to practically be a God, and yet still fall to the Corruption.
The thought lingered in her mind, holding the Golden Pokeball up as she once again brushed her fingers across the broken seal. "A weapon to fight the corruption," She mumbled, remembering Cygnus's words. "You're so much more than that, and I hope all of you know that. But I hope you'll help us."

The dancing was ethereal, completely alien in nature. And yet, it seemed all to effective, swatting fish from the air like they were nothing more than flies. All it took was one single hit, and down they'd go.
As the swarm dissolved as it got too weak, many of the Wishiwashi began to panic, swimming in all directions. The one that was Laguna's actual friend swam back over to her in a frenzied panic. "We gotta go! Go! We're gonna die!"
"You don't have to tell me twice." Laguna coughed up some more, swiftly dashing away for now.
Goodness, her chest hurt.

The warning was too late, water fired off in every direction with such an intense force. The water pierced into the concrete below, shredding a slice off the dock and down into the water. Laguna herself was blasted backwards, even as the swarm managed to mostly open and spread apart, lessening the damage they took.
"Laguna!" One of the little fish in the swarm suddenly spoke, her Pokemon, her friend.
"I'm fine!" She coughed, spitting up some blood and wiping at her lips as she picked herself back up from the ground. She was clearly not fine. "Just, get that thing! Knock it out, before we do! If you feel unsafe, book it."
The fish once again joined its school, roaring loudly as it dashed forwards, deciding if both close, and ranged attacks were both equally deadly to itself, they might as well simply hit with everything they got in something that couldn't be reflected.
A powerful Beat Up slammed every single fish into the bulbous head of the Ultra Beast, its tentacles oddly graceful as it moved, almost dancing in response.

True to her warning, the Nihilego was demolishing through the School if Wishiwashi. Their form was dropping in size as they struggled to combat a force that was so unique a threat. The tentacles were a nightmare of whirling, twirling paralysis.
"Regroup!" Laguna called out, waving them over towards her. Where did they other Trainer go? With any luck, they probably managed to escape in the chaos. She shifted on her feet, reading to move should she need to.
The Wishiwashi pulled back, a few of the paralyzed ones flopping on the ground as they reformed back over by Laguna's side. "This!" They all replied at once, seemingly with one mind. "Is a difficult foe!"
"Then make sure you win this!" She shouted, gripping her Wand tightly in one hand. "But don't be stupid and sacrifice all of you! If we have to run, we run!"
"We run when we can fight no more!" The Wishiwashi roared, once again letting out a blast of Water Guns, and yet the Nihilego didn't even seem to move, just taking the blast as its skin shimmered slightly with an unnatural color-
"Mirror Coat!" Laguna recognized it after a few seconds. "Watch out!"

The Nihilego was violent, it's tentacle-like arms swirling about in the water as it was blasted, twisting about like a jellyfish caught in the storm. And yet, Laguna couldn't tell at all if it even looked hurt! It was as if it was letting the Wishiwashi just expend all their energy, before pouncing.
"Look out!" Laguna had shouted, twisting and leaping to the side as the Nihilego began to move again, attempting to float straight into the school of fish.
A few more fell from the paralyzing stingers, even as the school constantly attempted to reform around it.
"Die! Die! Die!" Cried the Wishiwashi School, continually attempting to blast water at it from the inside, attempting to trap it and keep the trainer safe.
"Be careful!" Laguna shouted in response. "It's just gonna take you on one by one!"

Laguna had seen the Thunderfall Shrine many times before, but there was something so shocking about seeing it here in Ostelia, even now. It wasn't supposed to be here, it didn't feel like it should. And yet, it was a gift from Zapdos.
Even though he was guarding The Steppes from Mistra, his power was here, protecting them too.
She let out a long sigh, holding her Golden Pokeball in her hands. The seal long broken, but she was lost in thought all over again. Her Pokemon could leave at any second they chose, but they all stuck around because they knew her, trusted her, care about her. It was a miracle and a half to have friends that she trusted back in return.
And yet, there were a few mysteries. The Ultra Beasts in her posession confused her. They could leave at any time, vanish and head off into the distance and she could never do a thing about it. Tossing her Pokeball at a Pokemon she had fought and knocked out, still meant they could leave as soon as they recovered. There wasn't anything holding them here.
So why did they stay in her ball? Perhaps they too were evading The Voice? Staying inside the Pokeball the best option?
So why did the Celesteela suddenly break out and go crazy when she tried to take them to Cygnus to look for help? Did the voice get louder and more controlling the further they were? She had to be careful heading back to Asper for a while, it seemed. If they could pop out at any time and go crazy, how would he stop it?
Would she be responsible, knowing what she did?
"I'm sorry, friends." She'd speak softly, gently brushing her thumb across the broken seal. "I'll find you help, I promise. I trust Cygnus... I hope you will too."
